Roasted Vanilla

Oh man, "roasted" is a gross understatement of the smokiness of this fragrance. This is like, the vanilla for people who think By the Fireplace is not smoky enough. But I'm getting carried away with myself. Let me start with the opening. The notes don't remotely do the opening justice. There's a spiciness and greenness to this opening that is wonderful and natural. Kind of reminds me of Fueguia's Ballena de las Pampas, and there are a couple of other Fueguias that gave me the same vibe. Then the smokiness begins. The fragrance I thought of in this stage is Xerjoff Cruz del Sur I. My problem with that fragrance was the opening, which I thought smelled just like olive brine. But here in Roasted Vanilla, there is that beautiful spicy green opening that masks it and lets you simply enjoy the smokiness. During this whole time, the namesake vanilla note is very much in the background and provides a slight sweetness. This is not just vanilla lightly toasted in a pan, this is like hickory-smoked charbroiled vanilla. It is SMOKY. Slowly but surely, the vanilla gains ground over the smoky woody notes, and only about an hour in does Roasted Vanilla actually become a vanilla fragrance. Though the sillage is not great throughout, it seems to somehow get stronger over time, with the vanillic sweetness and boozy depth warmly wrapping around the wearer. This is one of the best vanilla fragrances I've ever tried, and well worth the high pricetag.

In my opinion, this fragrance is what Shalimar L’essence was supposed to be, I’m so addicted to it, I went to Harrods and sprayed like 50 times, everywhere on my clothes, hair, beanie, under my shirt, I’m obsessed with that, 10/10 For me it is a bit of a mix of habit rouge with that citrus, with loads of vanilla , like loads and loads. Not a sickly sticky vanilla, but a very well done vanilla. If guerlain had released this fragrance, i wouldn’t question, in my opinion it has that guerlain DNA, it’s a masterpiece- but the price point is just ridiculous, not even guerlain would come up with this price for an edp 100 ml - £365 , outrageous

I purchased the £40 discovery box of the 3 x 2.5ml Crafted Collection scents. Roasted Vanilla is the first one I tried. Initial spray is vanilla pods thrown onto a green oakwood bonfire. Do not expect sweet or creamy vanilla but a very SMOKY, slightly boozy vanilla. After 15 minutes or so, it started to mellow to a peppery spice with charred oak and a hint of vanilla in the background which is pleasant, but not pleasant enough for me to spend £365 on a 100ml bottle. After 2 hours, it's just a skin scent. To me, it's definitely masculine leaning and may work better on a man's skin. If you like a smoky/spicy fragrance (I do not care to wear smoky scents although I like it on others), this one is worth testing but not a safe blind buy.

I must say, Roasted Vanilla is a sexy name, and whoever came up with it is a marketing genius. It's a woody, resinous fragrance with some powdery vanilla. Its sweetness is very mild and feels natural; probably from the a mix of resins and the vanilla. It reminded me of a bit of Guerlain Habit Rouge PARFUM, but better and more natural-smelling. It smells very nice. I think It's a vanilla for people who don't usually like vanilla. Personally, I think it's masculine leaning, but obviously it can be worn by anyone. About the price complaints... This is a typical price for a niche perfume. Tom Ford(AND MANY MORE) charges this much for only 50ml of their cr@py fragrances, and I don't hear people complaining about it?!

This smelled original at the Loewe store in Spain, I wanted to buy it. But when I saw the price, I remembered that I have the higher quality Guerlain LÁRt collection and I bought it cheaper ! This is not worth its price really. Its not at the level of Guerlain LArt collection. .

Absolutely not. Burnt vanilla is more apt. Like if a chain-smoking antique dealer had an overwhelming, overbearing vanilla ice cream addiction, and perpetual alcohol-breath. Pungent, verging on suffocating. Nauseating in close confinement. I had some sprayed onto paper and, alas, six hours later it was all I could smell once home— bearing in mind I’d spent much of the day sampling various fragrances. Now, I could imagine this working on a man. Whether I would like him is another question entirely.

I love this scent. I was thinking of getting a bigger bottle of Vanille Planifolia. I may like this more though. Plus I still have a good amount of VP left and 2 sprays max of that one. Price per ml for this is way better than VP. I didn't pay full retail for either but still. Pretty much the same price for this at retail $495 for VP 50ml compared to 100ml here for $430. MSRP? $700-50ml vs $500-100ml. This scent is definitely roasted vanilla. The name is perfect. I find both this and IR are perfectly named. I didn't try BO which I feel was a basic western oud. I could see this layered with IR giving it a little earthy green vibe. I did like IR but it was a watered down take on Iris Cartegena. Its an unorthodox warm vanilla. You get the distiller smell of the booze. Hot and burning to the touch more so than the actual alcohol scent. If you know Mica d'oro Valmont or Angels Share its nothing like those. This isn't your average Shalimar L'essence, Blonde Amber vanilla. Its way better. I'm in love. You don't get much pink pepper its more so warm. I have pink pepper essential oil and it can be screechy. Think Molton Brown pink pepper. I get oak heavily. Its heavenly, I sprayed a little card and got a sample along with my fb just in case I want to return it. The card is projecting in my bathroom while I'm in the bath. I'm gonna give my sample time but I'm already 99.9999% sure I'm in love. I also got a sample of IR. I may change my mind who knows. All I know is that one isn't worth retail no scent is unless its $200 or less. Someone compared this to I'm guessing Spirituese Double. This is light years better. In both projection and scent depth imo. Sdv is a more everyday wear for sure. But in terms of quality I don't think so.

I’m sorry, not sorry, It’s time to EAT THE RICH!! designers: niche or designer, corporations and the perfumers, that sell perfumes over like $175 tops or that think that’s normal?!! Just stop!! Perfume is NOT a leather handbag nor a well made dress or coat, that can be handed down to your grandbabies! $5-$10 to make and they sell for $500?? No. Nope no.... I’m over it! One can be a lover of perfume?? And not be ok with this!! Influencers on YouTube with big ass collections? Just as bad you’re getting this for free!! And most of them? Don’t do giveaways or anything (selfish) props to sharida, and the gal from perfume nest and those that DO... but either or? I’m tired of hearing about any perfume over $175 (honestly anything over $50 but I too have my favs) I’m done with this cash grab!! Oh and the Arabic scents who lead us to FEEL like they’re giving us deals?? No nope! No samples no travel sizes?? yet soooo many blind buy fails!? What’s that add up to?? Hundreds of waste... because out of those ten bottles you bought last year?? How many did you really LOVE?? Eat the rich period.

Should be called Roasted Oak or something. There was definitely a spicy, resinous aspect I picked up initially that I really liked. I thought it could even be ginger that developed this tangy, woody, electric kind of hot-nostril sensation. Instead I see that it's oak. That's basically all I get out of it. Is it a nice oak? Yes, probably. It becomes a little boozy too. Vanilla here is more like an accent. Over time I think there is a nice development to a more even balance of soft, balsamic sweetness, but it's still mostly a spicy oak barrel. This may actually be the most unique in the line so I would check it out. I wasn't really sold on it intially but it's the one I keep thinking about so that counts for something. I think the degree of spiky woods and spices was too much to be soft and inviting like you'd expect a vanilla perfume to be though.

I know this was recently released, but anyone know where I can buy a sample of this or find in store? There’s a bloomies and saks near me but I doubt either of them sell this in person, I just saw it for purchase on the Loewe website and Neiman’s (I live in the United States). I am a vanilla girl amongst other scents, this one sounds very unique. Any suggestions on where I can order a decant or find in person would be greatly appreciated- thanks!

Great take on a Vanilla Fragrance. Honestly, love all the new ones but the prices have gone really absurd. I bought this one because I had a 20% discount at airport and the taxes back, otherwise no chance I would spend that money but I have been using it for a week nonstop and it is just delicious.

Really Loewe? 400 euro for a bottle now? I like you, but not that much

Mind you that this collection costs $500 a bottle. What a joke lmao
