Solo Loewe Origami

This is original Solo based scent with everything and all GREEN thrown in it. This is a rare instance of spices coming to your nose before citrus. I wouldn't actually call green notes here "spices" - they are freshly picked basil, rosemary and oregano leaves thrown in your face. They smell very realistic here, much like rubbing them in your hands. Its funky. Its interesting. Its 100% fresh. It could be weird at first - you have to let your nose get used to all the greens shamelessly thrown at you. Then - it becomes beautiful. Of course - there is lavender, geranium, amber and woody notes underneath to balance and compliment the scent. But you ain't thinking about them. You are thinking about GREEN when you smell it. There is also something acidic and bitter on top, someone made the comparison to milky liquid leaking from fresh plant - i agree. This note is gentle but exciting and edgy. Origami is 500% stronger in sillage and longevity than original Solo, no question about that. Dry down is nice, everything slowly loses its brightness and creates warm, greener Solo accord. Origami feels really experimental and self-confident in what it does - creating pure freshie exclusively out of extra-bold green and gentle citrus based notes - avoiding everything fruity, sweet, tea-flavored or aquatic. The vibe of this is: summer in progress, everything is alive, you're leaving dressed in loose-fitting linen shirt to get some pizza and wine on your mediterranean vacation. This should be still in production instead of Solo Atlas or Solo Mercurio, whatever. It's Unique. It's GREEN. 10/10

My goodness is Loewe's Origami absolutely a STUNNINGLY-BEAUTIFUL "Masculine" Fig-Leaf fragrance with an amazing Lavender and Cardamom mid. Its a Modern take on a Classic, gentlemanly fragrance indeed. It starts off very Fresh, Sharp/Astringent, green then smooths out quite a bit and the fresh Lavender and soft, semi/sweet Cardamom spiciness together with the other notes brings Origami into the "Aromatic Fougere" territory. There's NOTHING "Dated" about this scent, but it does offer a more Mature, Gentlemanly vibe. Excellent projection for the first hour, but sadly IMHO it just doesn't lasts more than say.. 4 mmmaybe 5 hours on my skin, but by hour 4 its definately a skin-scent. Even on clothes it just doesn't seem to last more than 8 hours unless I spray heavily and then I even need to layer some Iso E Super over it which does help with Longevity. Its not a "Maturation thing" either bc Ive had my bottle for about a year now and it hasnt improved much. Still though, its an amazing scent and imo its an 8 outta 10 minus 1 point for Longevity. Again, Origami is BEAUTIFUL!

For those who like (very) green, (very) aromatic perfumes. A bold release from Loewe, I do not know if it is officially discontinued... But it is now very rare. Blindly, I would never guess that it was 2018, but rather 1988. Anis, lavender, basil... The opening is a farandole of green, herbaceous and bitter notes, reminiscent of the opening of ancient aromatic fougeres (Azzaro for Men in particular). The development of this fragrance is excellent, it is not limited to this very aromatic facet, very masculine and retro, but takes on a more tender and slightly fruity hue, the dark green becomes almond green: a smell of early morning, wet grass, dew, and coumarin on a soft woody and amber background emerges, very close to the original Solo Loewe. This is a beautiful, daring, original and GREEN release.

Grassy green, barbershop style fougere with a very nice quality Amber base. I see why they've named it Origami, 'cause it does have a warm paper out of the printer nuance. Let it macerate and the performance becomes beastly, lasting days on clothing. The only perfume I know that's similar is Geoffrey Beene - Bowling Green. Albeit, toned down and smoother. A reviewer below, remarked white, milky plant sap. Yeah, it does have that nuance.

When I first got it as a gift from my brother, I thought it was tooo strange that it didn't smell good to my nose. As I started to use it, I began to love it. This scent is a unique herbal/citrus combo. So many people told me you smell so good and asked me about the name, yet this perfume is so underrated, nobody talks about it. The prominent Lavender mixed with the citrus giving a very strange (in the most perfect way) feel.
