Solo Loewe Origami

This is original Solo based scent with everything and all GREEN thrown in it. This is a rare instance of spices coming to your nose before citrus. I wouldn't actually call green notes here "spices" - they are freshly picked basil, rosemary and oregano leaves thrown in your face. They smell very realistic here, much like rubbing them in your hands. Its funky. Its interesting. Its 100% fresh. It could be weird at first - you have to let your nose get used to all the greens shamelessly thrown at you. Then - it becomes beautiful. Of course - there is lavender, geranium, amber and woody notes underneath to balance and compliment the scent. But you ain't thinking about them. You are thinking about GREEN when you smell it. There is also something acidic and bitter on top, someone made the comparison to milky liquid leaking from fresh plant - i agree. This note is gentle but exciting and edgy. Origami is 500% stronger in sillage and longevity than original Solo, no question about that. Dry down is nice, everything slowly loses its brightness and creates warm, greener Solo accord. Origami feels really experimental and self-confident in what it does - creating pure freshie exclusively out of extra-bold green and gentle citrus based notes - avoiding everything fruity, sweet, tea-flavored or aquatic. The vibe of this is: summer in progress, everything is alive, you're leaving dressed in loose-fitting linen shirt to get some pizza and wine on your mediterranean vacation. This should be still in production instead of Solo Atlas or Solo Mercurio, whatever. It's Unique. It's GREEN. 10/10

My goodness is Loewe's Origami absolutely a STUNNINGLY-BEAUTIFUL "Masculine" Fig-Leaf fragrance with an amazing Lavender and Cardamom mid. Its a Modern take on a Classic, gentlemanly fragrance indeed. It starts off very Fresh, Sharp/Astringent, green then smooths out quite a bit and the fresh Lavender and soft, semi/sweet Cardamom spiciness together with the other notes brings Origami into the "Aromatic Fougere" territory. There's NOTHING "Dated" about this scent, but it does offer a more Mature, Gentlemanly vibe. Excellent projection for the first hour, but sadly IMHO it just doesn't lasts more than say.. 4 mmmaybe 5 hours on my skin, but by hour 4 its definately a skin-scent. Even on clothes it just doesn't seem to last more than 8 hours unless I spray heavily and then I even need to layer some Iso E Super over it which does help with Longevity. Its not a "Maturation thing" either bc Ive had my bottle for about a year now and it hasnt improved much. Still though, its an amazing scent and imo its an 8 outta 10 minus 1 point for Longevity. Again, Origami is BEAUTIFUL!

For those who like (very) green, (very) aromatic perfumes. A bold release from Loewe, I do not know if it is officially discontinued... But it is now very rare. Blindly, I would never guess that it was 2018, but rather 1988. Anis, lavender, basil... The opening is a farandole of green, herbaceous and bitter notes, reminiscent of the opening of ancient aromatic fougeres (Azzaro for Men in particular). The development of this fragrance is excellent, it is not limited to this very aromatic facet, very masculine and retro, but takes on a more tender and slightly fruity hue, the dark green becomes almond green: a smell of early morning, wet grass, dew, and coumarin on a soft woody and amber background emerges, very close to the original Solo Loewe. This is a beautiful, daring, original and GREEN release.

Grassy green, barbershop style fougere with a very nice quality Amber base. I see why they've named it Origami, 'cause it does have a warm paper out of the printer nuance. Let it macerate and the performance becomes beastly, lasting days on clothing. The only perfume I know that's similar is Geoffrey Beene - Bowling Green. Albeit, toned down and smoother. A reviewer below, remarked white, milky plant sap. Yeah, it does have that nuance.

When I first got it as a gift from my brother, I thought it was tooo strange that it didn't smell good to my nose. As I started to use it, I began to love it. This scent is a unique herbal/citrus combo. So many people told me you smell so good and asked me about the name, yet this perfume is so underrated, nobody talks about it. The prominent Lavender mixed with the citrus giving a very strange (in the most perfect way) feel.

Another f....ing touchdown from Loewe!!! This is just great, an absolute masterpiece. It has everything, gorgeous and exquisite scent, presence, projection and longevity. Marvellous crafted green and lemony scent, so good. More green that the original, but just as good. Loewe... you ́re beautiful, baby!!!

Best Loewe hands down, fresh and chilly. Works well on my skin in all seasons.

LOVE IT,A continental green dark forest after an heavy spring or autumn rain

Very distinct among fragrances in my collection. For a "designer" fragrance (it's not entirely clear if Loewe should be considered as such due to the limited presence of their fragrances in the US) this goes above and beyond. I blind-bought this after seeing a box in a random store in CDMX, doing some research, and seeing how many positive reviews it has. I agree with other reviews on a few points: the opening is intensely bitter, fresh, and herbaceous; the head and heart are reminiscent of mid-century barbershop/aftershave fragrances thanks to the lavender and geranium underscored by the vetiver; and the performance is incredible. This one is overpowering if sprayed more than twice. The room will smell like it for about an hour, longer if your accuracy is poor. The opening can be totally overwhelming, and it took me a few sprays to really get used to its intensity, but it quickly relaxes into an aromatic vetiver, amber, and lavender fragrance with the subtle sweetness of white florals and garden herbs. As it wears it develops more of a woody character, ultimately becoming a sweet aromatic wood. It's masculine in a classical, mature way thanks to the vetiver and latent patchouli--I kind of get the impression I might smell like a grandfather. It's a little old-school but I think it maintains enough character to be wearable by men under 60, but maybe not in their 20s. The question is: will the people smelling you recognize that? This character may be off-putting to some but I would just be aware that the base notes of Origami create a different experience than many fresh and green fragrances. What impresses me the most about this fragrance is its longevity and its evolution; I still get the base and heart notes after hour 10, and the fragrance becomes quite different over the course of a wear. The ingredients and blend are clearly high quality. I'm pretty surprised this seems to be discontinued, it's a very well developed fragrance but I think it was the victim of a narrow brand vision. It's quite affordable on the second-hand market and I think you're getting more than your money's worth.

oh dear. This fragrance is a real chameleon, cool bottle, unusual name, herbal/woody opening but sadly dries down to the same old Solo accord. This is why I've put all the Solo's in 'reminds me of'...because it does. I'm not a hater when it somes to this line, I own Solo platinum and I'm an admirer of the brand, but redundant flankers annoy me slightly. Most of the time I couldn't care less about them, or let them bother me but when they promise a different experience and deliver much the same, it irks me slightly. I suppose the opening being a fresh, fir like pine and woods/clean cardamom/vetiver smell sets you up for something else to what you eventually get. It's so odd then that it transmutes from that after about 10 mins into an even more annoying version of the original Solo. Like I said I have platinum which does have a similar smell but is much more resinous and amber like which completely negates the cheap, orangey/lemon haze of the original...and with a minor tweak becomes palatable.

Beautiful bottle presentation. This is really well blended. I liked it right off the bat. The great thing for citrus and floral lovers is that the top notes that typically wear off the fastest, last FOREVER with this one. If you are thinking of buying it because you heard it smells similar to Bowling Green, don’t. It doesn’t. Like at all. This has some nice lavender amber qualities that make it modern and some sharp herbaceous bright citruses that permeate the entire lifespan of the scent. My son and my wife called it unisex. Because she wasn’t super into it, I sold it to a good friend at work who really really was. I have no regrets blind buying it because seeing my friend get excited about it made me really happy. I also know that practically nobody else in the states is wearing this or talking about it.

This fragrance got me a really nice compliment today. I was at Target doing some light shopping when this lady I just passed turned around and asked me "Sir, may I ask you what fragrance you're wearing?". I was just starting to explain to her that it's Spanish brand named Loewe and showed her a picture of the full name and bottle from Fragrantica. That compliment really made my day, specially that I like this fragrance and find it refreshing. I've had this fragrance for about 3 years now and although I initially found it redundant since I already have ADP Club. I think I was slightly disappointed at first but later came to appreciate this concoction more and more. This is about the same quality as Club with a %10 of original Solo DNA. Highly recommended at the current price!

This is magnificent! It's very green and I mean very green! It smells just like the original Solo but with the green notes and it has a little spice buried down in there but I can't point out what it could be but it's nice. Very great projection and longevity. It smells oriental in a green way. I don't get why these fragrances are so over looked sometimes. Loewe is high quality and niche type in my opinion. It also has a semi sweet floral tone which is also good. The dry down is probably the best part, maybe about a half hour after application. The opening will knock your socks off! It's pretty intense once sprayed but give it some time and this will be a love. I give this a 9.4/10 I forgot to mention I also get a sharp lemon note. It's a very nice lemon.

Very nice green aromatic fragrance. This is the first Loewe Solo I've tried, so I'm not sure how it compares to others. The opening is a bit spicy and herbal in a way that, quite frankly, reminds me of street tacos -- corn tortillas, citrus, perhaps cilantro -- but not in a gourmand or off-putting way. This doesn't last too long and gives way to what I find is ultimately a modern homage to fragrances like Aramis's New West. There are no calone or watery notes in the pyramid for this, but the dry down does have a prominent calone note. It's sort of like if you took New West and replaced all of the coniferous notes with green herbal ones, and the result is a very pleasant and modern sweet green fragrance with a calone heart. Very wearable.

loewe creations deserve less dislikes and more love. really. this one also stands out, which is so rare nowadays. it's not gold, it's not blue, it's not for everyone. but it's the magic and mysterious loewe dna, this time on the lighter side. 7/10 soundtrack: boards of canada - geogaddi.

Fresh,minty and green. A good summertime barbershop fragrance very similar to ADPCC (Green cap clear bottle) though Loewe is more green. I like them both either way.

It opens sharp with bergamot and lavender but dries down to a nice musky vetiver. Minimalistic and easy to wear in heat weather

It smells like a sweaty man that was working in the garden. The top and middle is fantastic but the dry down you get that sweat note. I would say it’s fantastic but unless you are outside in spring all day wearing this then this may be cloying because it’s super strong. It’s for someone but not for me. 3/5

what a disappointment, smell wise I can dedicate the woody DNA of Loewe Solo, but citrus note is not successful add in this context, longevity is a joke. It's a pass for me

It's grassy, but it smells like a green plant with white, bitter (maybe poisonous?) Sticky milky things leaking out of it when you damage it. It's fresh, very green, yet bitter, very aggressive and harsh. Only at day, while it's sunny. Old-school perfume vibe. @edit - 1/3 of the bottle gone and I hate it now. I don't know why, but the more I used it, the more my brain made it irritating to my nostril. Used to tolerate it, but now whenever I use it I can smell it all the time - I can't go noseblind to it. After 15 minutes it irritates my nostril so much I actually need to wash it off. Makes me frown whenever I catch a whiff of it. Green, aggressive, harsh.

Loewe Solo Origami is a pure jem! The top citrus notes blended with an incredible woody accord at the base makes this aromatic fresh spicy fragrance one of the best summer scents on the market. It's beautiful and absolutely holds it's own against the likes of Creed Aventus, Acqua di Parma Colonia intensa, and acqua di Parma Chinoto de Leguria. This is definitely one of my favorite summer scents!!! My 3 P's - Price 10/10 - Projection 9/10 - Performance 9/10

Just bought Loewe Solo Origami which next to my Aqua di Parma Colonia smells just as heavenly for half the price. I initially smelled this perfume from a sampler and immediately knew I had to have it. It's a must have for your summer perfume summer collection! Beautiful aromatic scent with fresh citrus and warm spicy scent. It's a beautiful fresh, warm, sexy scent you can wear day or evening.

This is a very strong perfume. It is not for the shy-hearted. It is bold and if you don't like green perfumes stay away from its path. On an empty stomach in the morning it is very strong, so people beware. I like it on my husband and after 10 hours working I can still smell this on him. Certainly not a mainstream fragance, more of a hidden gem.
