Wild Coffee

Strong to me. Boozy/fruity and a substrata of Oud. Now... there is a big difference on clothes and skin. On Clothes, airier... like a super clean woody/fruity/slight oud scent. On skin... deeper/darker and more oud (much more). I love it on clothes and am unsure on skin. On skin it’s a bit rich for my tastes. On clothes I feel like it’s so unique I could never part with it. On clothes it’s a very well done fruity scent with slight depth. On skin... the same but with Oud depth... discernible oud (still not as much as most—just noting for those sensitive).

Wild Coffee by Loewe isn't as coffee heavy as the name might suggest, but there's still enough of that roasted coffee note to justify the name. It's blended really well and has this caramel like sweetness that I really enjoy, giving it a smooth, comforting feel. I wouldn't usually gravitate towards this style of fragrance, but this one really won me over. You can tell it's a high-quality composition. Performance and longevity are excellent, with average sillage. The £365 price tag is definitely steep. I guess being a Harrods exclusive would call for a price tag like that. However, it's still well worth trying if you get the chance. A solid 8/10 for me.

So, has this coffee obsession surfaced again, are they still clinging to the idea that it must feature a cardamom note? Cardamom may belong in coffee across the Arabian Peninsula, but elsewhere it feels rather out of place. And not everyone takes their coffee sweet; some houses seem to forget as more people have been moving away from sugar in both tea and coffee for years now. Even if the intention was to lend a touch of sweetness, Madagascar vanilla is sufficient to do this; piling on tonka bean, caramel, benzoin and amber notes on top of that feels a bit overindulgent. We’ll give this one a miss.
