Elle L'aime A La Folie

I tried lolita lempicka elle l'aime at the store.loved it and bought a bottle of it the other day.when I opened it's box at home and sprayed it I saw that I don't like it!I was puzzled Recently I went to that perfume shop again and recognized that there's two different version of it.tried this one and I understood that the one I loved at first place and still love is a la foile version but unfortunately the one I have is original elle l'aime.what makes me dislike the latter one is combination of lime and coconut.I don't like sour citruses in beachy scents and it's coconut is too much and there's nothing warm or sweet to make it yummy and likable for me. There's no lime sourness or coconut overload in a la foile.it's sunny,buttery ylang-ylang and jasmine blended with just a hint of creamy coconut and sandalwood.I believe what makes me love this is amber and myrrh,they give it warm,delicious and a charming twist It also has impressive Longevity and sillage for a summary fragrance.I wanted to buy it after I finish my l'aime but I don't think that I can wait till then Pay attention to their colors while buying.a la foile is brighter P.s: I'd also love try layering it with Valentino myrrh

Not your typical Lolita Lempicka at all. This is a rich and ambery, honeyed floral with sandalwood and a bit of citrus. It has no coconut and no vanilla, but the ylang-ylang and amber are so rich that any vanilla or coconut would have been too much here. Quite intoxicating. I ordered this to find an alternative to Alien Essence Absolue with ylang-ylang, and it lives up to my expectations. The sillage too. I'm a very light sprayer and when testing, I still oversprayed by accident. I agree with the comment below mine, this is better suited to cold and cooler days. For day and night, but maybe a little bit too loud for the office. The sillage is much softer on skin after 4 hours though. On clothes, the scent is even more beautiful and ambery sweet. The bottle is as gorgeous as the scent. When light shines through it, the bright golden juice makes the letters glow like fire. Happy, truly gorgeous and sexy. It's a hidden gem for ylang-ylang lovers. Too sad it's discontinued, but it's still pretty cheap online and smells much more expensive than its current price.

A totally impulsive bb for me and.. Whoa! Big and heady indeed! My first thought was coconut. I knew there weren't supposed to be any in this version. Maybe my mind plays tricks on me because of the beachy sunscreen vibe. I get less of that now though, with a proper wearing. I have zero experience with ylang in perfume. I love the essential oil of the flower, but there is little that reminds me of that in A La Folie. This is so different to what I normally wear that I think I need some time with it. But I am intrigued,.. very. And I have a feeling it will get a lot of use. I love scents that doesn't initially feel like "me". UPDATE: LOVE it! ♥️ I dont know why, but sometimes this project like crazy and sometimes it doesn't. It seems it change a lot with the temperature and the season, also considering the strength of certain notes. But overall this a creamy beautiful scent that performs very well!

This sweet, floral woodsy delight to me smells like the absence of honey. While I love that elusive honey, it is quite hard to bottle and plays wickedly with skin chemistry. This has the citrus zest but not the orange blossom, the flower but not the nectar, the woods and the sap holding the nest but not the honey, and the warm sunny feeling without the bees buzzing about. It's so versatile and enveloping. It doesn't have a lot of development, but that's fine. I like it from the first spray to the last waft. And it lasts awhile!This is even better than Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria Ylang et Vanille (which I still have) in that it manages to smell like your favorite cousin who makes good life choices instead of your slightly musty auntie with great taste but diminishing olfaction. As if all this weren't enough, the price makes this a no-brainer. Thanks for the helpful reviews, Fragrantica members!

I blind bought a high partial with a sprayer that needed to be “realigned” so it sprayed properly. It’s capless but after sorting the sprayer and flushing the mechanism all I can say is “wow”! A total knockout. I don’t really like gourmands and I don’t really like coconut. But this is edible without smelling like food. I get a creaminess which isn’t coconut but must be the sandalwood. The Ylang is prominent but it’s fleshed out with citrus so it has a sweet but tart bite to it which means it didn’t get cloying and the jasmine keeps it clean. It’s fairly fruity in a way a mango is - lush, fleshy and dripping with juice to the bite. The resins give it depth and persistence. It’s a winner and has incredible performance. I’ve slowly fallen in love and she’s staying in my collection as I’m currently deep into edit mode.

it sits at the top and heart for a good while, smells like a fancy orange oil . i usually have a hard time with strong citrus but this is perfectly done . ylang feels like the main flower to me, its a very soft sweeter jasmine here, fades in then out . this is very natural smelling the longer its there especially in drydown; it becomes drier, warm, woody from the myrrh+sandal, smells like something out of a healthfoods store in a good way . remains distinctive and slightly shampooy as it becomes closer to skin, which is a good thing because the opening is heavy . i think those who want a more unique summer/autumn scent would find it here .

This is a gorgeous fragrance that is so cheap! It smells high end. I was a bit wary of the ylang ylang at first but I neednt have. Its so smooth its almost buttery. It is not screechy at all. I would say the mryhh, ylang, amber and jasmine are very well balanced so none dominates. The sweet citrus notes are only evident at the beginning and wain quickly. You have hours of sweetish delicious tropical floral heaven. moderate sillage but great longevity.

Tester bottle of edp extreme. Folie opens up with a tart mandarin and bergamot. The Ylang and jasmine surface in a beautiful simple heart. The myrrh notes and amber lend a gentle sweetness. Sandalwood augments the ylang. Its a terrific buy, you get a lot more for your money with this one. Fun and sexy

I’m back to declare this an essential summer scent. Possibly one of my best value for the low cost scents. Incredible longevity. Seamlessly constructed. After the fruity Ylang Ylang opening it shifts quickly to the most elegant & soft woody amber.

THIS IS GORGEOUS. Omfg!!! Buttery ylang ylang coconut amber creme brûlée... Beautiful bottle too! Wowzers- best blind buy in ages.

Hmmm... the jury is out on this one. I definitely like it, and I think it may become a love. I've had it for several days now, and this is the first time I've gotten a grasp on it. I never tried the others, so I had to laugh while reading the other reviews mentioning the absence of coconut in this one, because my very first impression was of coconut, vanilla, and ylang..someone else compared it to Guerlain AA Vanilla Yland (Ylang Vanilla?) which I also own and enjoy. This feels like the cold weather counterpart to the lighter feel of the AA. Yes - it is potent! I'm a heavy sprayer,and I think I blew out my sense of smell when I tried this the day I received it, as I could barely smell it. Today I have sprayed lightly on both wrists, and the rich, butteriness is shining through. I smell the sandalwood far more than the myrrh, which is somewhat disappointing as I love myrrh, particularly the sweeter, less medicinal variety, but I am patiently waiting for it to appear. My gut is telling me that this is a shape shifter, and I need to test it under different conditions. Am I disappointed by this blind buy? Hell no!! I'm very happy to have her here, and the price is unbelievable. But I will have to see if I fall in love, and to get input from my husband and others. I think this definitely leans more "feminine" if that matters to you. If you're a fan of tropical, beach fragrances with a twist, give it a go. I think given the price it will be a safe blind buy if that's your kind of thing. PS - I think that I would like this more if the ylang was toned down a bit.

Not having tried Elle L'Aime or L L'Aime, I'm unfortunately unable to compare A La Folie to either of them. However, I can say that having tried this a couple of times already, Ella L'Aime A La Folie is a very nice fragrance. I like the contrast of citrus and white flowers with amber and woody notes and my overall impression is of a very elegant, sensual and good quality perfume. It has good strength and lasting power and smells expensive. But there is a note that I'm not so keen on, that reminds me of baby powder and I can't tell which note it is. I kept thinking that this perfume reminded me of something very familiar and then realised what it was - it is quite similar to Estee Lauder's Intuition, which I used to wear in the early 2000s. They both share two of the same top notes and the amber base. A La Folie is pretty and sophisticated at the same time. Personally, I don't feel the need to add this one to my collection, but it would be a good choice for somebody who is looking for a versatile, year-round fragrance. I find it quite youthful and think it will have mass appeal.

I blind bought this based on the reviews and the fact that on this side fall is approaching... I doubted between this and the l’été version and I wanted something a bit orangy but with depth. Unfortunately, something that is not much written here in the comments; this is very sandalwood-heavy for me. It’s very blended too, no distinct orange note stand out to me. Nonetheless it *is* quite fall appropriate so I will try and wear it and see if it grows on me.

First impressions of this: smooth, sweet, almost like amber and gold in syrup form. Is it the ylang making this so buttery-smooth? It's so rich smelling. Smells young and beautiful. This acts almost like a gourmand in sweetness, but manages to stay away from vanilla, caramel, and other foody-sweet notes. This perfume is very warm, sweet, and makes me feel calm and serene.

A pleasant, warm, and mature composition of delicate citrus notes, underscored by sensual ylang-ylang and dry, warming wood. I don’t detect anything reminiscent of À La Folie—rather, a classic feminine sensuality. It quickly becomes a skin scent.

Thick coconut with florals and what must be the myrrh. It's not a candy sweet, more of an herby sweet. Wafts up throughout the day, great lasting power.

It is very similar to La Perla Divina, sweetish and somewhat boozy :)

I bought this blind, based on the reviews and on the fact that I already have and love Lolita Lempicka Elle l'aime...and wow...this fragrance is absolutely amazing!!! The opening is very similar to the original, very citrusy without the coconut note, but the drydown of this one is extraordinary, so creamy and sweet, the myrrh really stands out and it's beautifully blended with the amber and the sandalwood, it's a great composition, really warm and ritch. I'll be using this one in the colder days; because of it's warmth I find it to be more suited for the winter and I'll be enjoying the original in spring and summer...also let's take a moment to appreciate the beautiful bottles this fragrances have! For me it's a definite LOVE! ❤️❤️❤️

209 The notes sounded amazing but the weakness was it’s downfall. I sprayed liberally and then none of the notes listed here came forth. Not sure if I got a bad bottle-batch 7/2014. This one was another big disappointment because it looked promising and should have been. 0/10-Barely any scent. Would not repurchase. Have no idea what happened here but it’s time to pull back on blind buys. Even research was not enough...
