Lolita Lempicka Au Masculin

I am still shocked at how much I am loving anise/licorice scents. It's never been a taste I've liked, but apparently I am enthralled with scents that use it. I first discovered this via Cuba Black, which led to Azzaro Pour Homme, which has led me here. Where the APH/CB scent is a classically masculine dry/soapy offering (essentially a classic fougere with a hefty dose of anise - and light musk in the case of APH), this is another experience entirely. I have the original LLAM as well as the Intense EDP flanker, and they are both masterful variations on the same theme, sweet creamy anise vanilla gourmand florals as comforting and cool as satin sheets in a crisp autumn breeze. I'm so happy to have landed the uncapped LLAM bottle with the depresser built-in to what looks like an ice carving (I've seen some pictures of the EDT in what looks like capped bottles like the one I have for the Intense). Is this subconsciously why I feel cooler when I put it on? Probably yes, but I tell myself the scent has more to do with this impression. I find this one by far the lighter of the two, it has an ephemeral, powdery feel whereas the Intense has a thicker, heavier touch, making these an obvious daytime-to-evening transitional pairing (I love it when flankers are conceived in this manner). I am a committed "seasonalist" - I try to limit the use of most of my scents to 1-2 seasons tops - for the reasons that: it helps me stretch each bottle out, and most enjoyably it allows me to continually "rediscover" so many scents I enjoy every three months - but this is one of those wildcard scents that will make this particularly challenging - I really think the body heat that accompanies warm weather enhances the performance of this one perfectly, but I feel like the notes themselves would be such a great experience in cooler weather. This will be a hard decision that I look forward to wrestling with.

Simply put, this scent is a MASTERPIECE ! Lolita Lempicka is a scent thats rich,delicious, and has a really nice blend of sweetness but also some green freshness that’s make this a very well balanced scent ! The notes that stick out to me are the licorice and violet giving this a unique freshness,vanilla giving this a powdery sweetness, and the rum giving this a rich,seductive,sensual edge ! I personally fell in love with this instantly but I was a little unsure about how others would perceive it and then the first day I wore this my girlfriend instantly smelled this,complimented me and said this was a new favorite of all my colognes. ( Which surprised me because she hates licorice). Then the 2nd day I wore this I walking around town and a woman at a stoplight stopped me and asked me what I was wearing and wanted to know so she could buy it for her husband for Valentine’s Day. So this tells me people love it just as much as I do !!! Performance on this is excellent and especially being that it cost me $25... It lasts me 10-16 hours and projects very well for about 4 hours and then for the duration of the scent your left with a nice scent bubble. It at no time becomes cloying or overbearing even though it has a lot of sweet notes. Overall rating— 9.5 out of 10 !!!! This is now my favorite winter cologne in my collection and I can see this giving Aventus some competition on being my most complimented. Also for the price it’s easily the best bargain fragrance I’ve smelled to date and just in general 1 of the best smelling. Sidenote— Sometimes when I smell this it smells like raisin rum ice cream and other times I smell this it reminds me of coconut shampoo. Also ,I’m engaged now but damn I wish I had this scent when I was single as this is a lady killer and also very unique and will make you stand out among all the Aqua di Gios and 1 millions.

A very lovely, unique and timeless perfume that, you keep re-discovering over and over again! Annick Menardo has made some awesome creations Like Jaipur Homme, Bvlgari Black and Bois d'Argent for Dior, and of course Poison Hypnotic that set the course for sweet scents for decades! Lolita Lempicka Au Masculin was revolutionary, very unique, and was very daring when it first came out, it screamed uniqueness and quality, with the sillage and projection of the 90's scents. The liqroice opening offers a very memorable and unique experience, it's something you'd never come across often, it keeps you wondering what's this?! it's edible yet classy and sophisticated, many niche houses has gourmand scents that smells like chocolate or caramel etc, but this was one of the very first to have this! i like to believe that from my avergage experience as a teen smelling mostly any perfume that i come across this was the most gourmand i've seen. 2 months ago i passed by a shop to find an old bottle of this scents on a dusty shelf, i had a price in mind, before asking and surprisingly it was almost half that price that i intended to pay so i did not hesitate, i checked the batch and it was 2003, being prepared to find the perfume gone bad, it wasn't, it was very similar to what i remember, but not as full-bodied and alive as it was, it's more of a flat scent, still pretty though, but the longevity is nothing, not even an hour on my skin, no matter how much i spray and i think that's due to the bad storage. I've bought many old perfumes before, some of them go bad and change in nature, some keep almost the same vibe but loose longevity which also happened with the Rochas Man i bought few months ago. Over all, i'm still happy with it, i don't use it that much when going out, but i enjoy it on me, whenever there is a chance to use it.

This fragrance is one of my treasured gems. One of the most memorable and enjoyable experiences I've had wearing a fragrance came with this one. It was the very first time I spritzed this fragrance on me. I was going to a restaurant which was located right next to a beach here in Sri Lanka. The opening primarily had me sniffing a harsh, vibrant and unapologetically in your face anise heavy accord. I enjoyed this opening and still do to this day, although I could see how it could be off putting to some. However, several hours having passed since I arrived at the restaurant, whilst sipping a nice cocktail, with a gentle, cool breeze blowing in my direction, I could feel a scent cloud around me exude with life. I felt as though I was enveloped by a magical aura. An aura of beautiful vanilla with a hint of anise. This lasted several hours, well into the wee hours of the following morning. Magical! Thus far in my fragrance journey this is the only bottle of which I have purchased a back up bottle. The only negative thing I can say is that at times I get a slight synthetic plasticky note from this fragrance at the tail end of the dry down. Regardless of that minor gripe, I consider this to be one of the very best designer fragrances I've encountered. Unless you have an aversion to anise or vanilla, I can heartily recommend blind buying this fragrance. It's unique and unforgettable. However, the two bottles I own are with the built in sprayer. I hear that it has recently been reformulated with the newer bottles having an external sprayer. So I'm not certain whether the new formulation (if it has been reformulated at all) is as good as the original formulation. Here's hoping it is. Longevity: 10+ Hours Projection & Silage : Scent cloud with atleast 3 feet of projection for 4 to 5 hours.

So, me and my GF were in a store trying different scents when she picked up this pretty blue bottle and sprayed on a strip. She was immediately like 'Oh my God, this is amazing. You should totally wear this!'. When I smelled it I thought her scent receptors must have broken or something. The stuff smelled like a drunk person passed out in a candy store so naturally I told her that vile thing will not come near my skin ... ever! Of course the ol' gal took that as a challenge and the next week she surprised me with a nice present - a 100 ml bottle of Lolita Lempicka's Au Masculin. My first reaction was to dump it straight into the kitchen sink and then sanitize thoroughly with bleach...or fire. But realizing the futility of it all (my GF is a tenatious little darling, bless her heart) I decided to at least try it once. And I am so very glad I did! On my skin the perfume smelled nothing like it did on paper. It opened up with the powerfull aroma of rum and licorice which soon melted down and mixed pleasently with the vanilla and praline. A wave of sweetness and deliciousness began to suround me as it settled down. The whole feeling of this perfume is one of coziness and warm sensuality. This perfume opened my eyes to the wonderful world of sweet and spicy men's fragrances and I LOVE it! The longevity and projection on me are very good if not excellent. And on top of that women seem to love Au Masculin. I've recieved numerous compliments (only from women though, hmm...) that I smell 'cuddely' or 'fireplace-y'. Projection - 7/10 Longevity - 8/10 Scent - 9/10 Bottom line - I absolutely adore this creation and wear it through three of the four seasons. Thank you Annik Menardo!

Lempicka Homme was on discount in a departmental store, so I tried it and really disliked the drydown (I'm thinking it's because I'd accidentally mixed some JHAG Not a Perfume and I have only quite recently learnt that ambrox and their derivatives are not my friends). I went to read around Homme and Au Masculin and was deeply intrigued about the latter. I'd managed to find a sample being sold online so I bought it and left it on the backburner while I was busy trying out many other perfumes as I'd just begun down the fragrance rabbit hole. I'd only realised that I'd completely forgotten about it when I was organising my fragrances yesterday and decided that it was time to try it. BOY, it was amazing. It's like a fresher, greener, less gourmand version of the Lolita Lempicka LPP (that's the one I own, I haven't had the good fortune to try the original EDP from 1997). I've been extremely intrigued by ivy-forward perfumes and this one is delightfully grassy. It helps that I enjoy licorice/anise notes in perfumes so this one hits all the right spots for me. After waking up the next morning, the violet and ivy notes remain quite perceptible on my arm and it feels as though I've woken up in the middle of some dewy woodlands. Lempicka Homme pales in comparison to Lolita Lempicka Au Masculin - the former smells like play dough compared to this. While this has a masculine name to it, I do think the scent's quite unisex and very wearable on any occasion at any time of the day/year. Again, an absolute shame for being discontinued but you'll find the minis still being sold in the bunches in some discounters'.

*EDITED* Epic Journey Into the Bottled Yonder, 130 ------------------------------------------------------- Purchased August 2019 - NOS Initially grabbed an OEM sample spray before shelling out for the real babe. Yes it's everything you'd imagine. Cool but quirky, not extremely manly so I clicked the "more male" button above. Can't wait to wear this in more situations, because fuck it. If all people stink nowadays or smell too playing-it-safe I don't want to hurt anybody's feewings then I have rightful licence to wear this as I please. Think about it. Batch: 1H082 from July 2011. 2024 Update: Yes I got around to wearing it as often as I can, but still working on slapping it on on a whim when around more people. Truly lost all care of who likes this or who finds it appropriate, since this is a massive and expensive hobby and life's too short. But it's true to the design of its bottle. It's woody yet warm and a little sweet. Quite rootsy, like you're smelling a plant or big tree root. Then there's the licorice, but it's dark and not "sickly" and sweet, it's herbal or something. Like it was ground or sanded back. Everybody has some non-regretful purchases and this is one of them for me. Actually glad I was able to get an original bottle because that OEM sample was the BOMB! Fuck Angel Men, I have this. I get to say that because I bought that one too (93% full because fuck reforms and inflated brand new prices), after getting acquainted with a decant, almost three years ago. 2025 Update: I now love Angel Men as much as I love Au Masculin.

In 2003, I was about 19 or 20 and worked near the mall. At that time, Nordstrom had such a great selection of fragrances... Unique fragrances, popular ones, expensive ones, etc. I worked in retail and still lived with my parents, so my paychecks were spent pretty quickly! Haha. I would walk over to Nordstrom during my lunch and check out the fragrance counter. There were always a few that I wanted and kept my eye on for payday. Lolita was always one I wanted but never bought. FINALLY, I just bought it. It was soooo unique. I was a sucker for unique and mysterious scents. I wanted the head turner scent or the one that really stuck in somebody’s memory. This one is still so amazing. I think also, I remember a girl who used to wear the apple/female version and it was soo intoxicating. The licorice REALLY did it for me. So I just knew I had to have the Au Masculin version. I rarely wore it. Never received a compliment but I don’t care. I tried it again recently and it was so warm and striking. Still smells amazing and almost smells BETTER now than it did new! I still have two-thirds of the bottle left. The disturbing thing about the bottle is that when I check the batch code, it says it’s from 2021. I bought this in 2003!!! And never bought it again. How can this be? It’s the old tree bottle with the spray button, not lid.

A smirking, mischievous forest fairy prince with an air of arrogance in his stride (/flutter?) Usually I hate licorice as a taste, but it captures my heart as a beautiful fresh spicy note in fragrances. Its sweet, cooling characteristic jolts me awake in the morning as I prepare to experience a full day's wearing of this quirky composition. So far, entering hour 5, it hasn't disappointed. Violet, to my nose, always seems to evoke a magical, fairy tale quality. There's a particular powderiness to violet that stirs nostalgia for worlds never explored, for loves never realized. Perhaps it's because I once read that the violet flower is a smell that, once you detect its scent, you instantly forget what you smelt. It's tricky, it's sneaky, it's magic. It spurs obsessive quests to recover that one, elusive feeling. Here it combines with licorice, vanilla, and vetiver (a note I enjoy only in a supporting role, in limited quantities) to create an overall "sparkly" feel and drive home the magical effect. I will say, per a review below, that I do pick up slight traces of Individuel, but only smelled directly on clothes. Sweet, slightly metallic, a tad dirty. The sillage is nothing but magic - spicy licorice, creamy vanilla, powdery violet, sharp vetiver magic. And I'll fall for this fantastic bastard every time.

After a long hesitation the Fragrantica members convinced me to order this. And now I'd like to thank you all! It is really what I've been looking for among the female perfumes but I couldn't find. It's definitely unisex, maybe a bit more feminine than masculine. All that inner strength and sensuality in this beautiful potion. Can't stop sniffing my wrist. All the most sensual, inviting and head turning ingredients in one bottle. The opening is fresh, slightly green and sweet, like a warm summer evening breeze that's coming from the garden of Eden and bringing the memories about the original sin under an enchanted exotic tree. This makes you wonder and slowly liberates the senses and the mind. Then I really appreciate and enjoy that warm, gourmand mixture of almonds in rum (adult, sweet, slightly bitter) + a sophisticated leather which unchains all the fantasies (including all the naughty ones) and invites to realize them. And the base -intoxicating, dangerous, dark, deep unconsciousness. A never ending orgasm! The scent of desire.

I had this five or six years ago, bottle shattered during a college move. Rebought it January 2016. 1.7oz sells for under $20. Long story short. I can't live without this fragrance. Lolita Lempicka Au Masculin is very special. This is the darkest most Noirish night scent I know of that still remains sweet - this is the sweet scent for people who don't like sweet scents. And it does it without a musky/smokey vibe. The brilliant use of a licorice note (real or synthetic I don't care) and boosy rum qualities helps it smell powerful and unique. If Tim Burton were to keep his actors in character on the set of a new movie - he would be spraying Lolita Lempicka Au Masculin all over the place. Strong and long lasting, this is a love it or hate it fragance but if you keep an open mind about the licorice notes, it's a valuable addition to a diverse perfume collection. Great responses from women and the newer formulations are blended so well I don't see it being offensive to anyone. Buy it, own it love it! Lolita Lempicka Au Masculin = 9/10

Lolita Lempicka Au Masculin is an overlooked pièce de résistance of masculine perfumery!--I hadn't realized how wonderful this fragrance is until yesterday afternoon...I still can't believe it's been discontinued. This perfume is so well-blended and masterfully crafted that I decided to get two bottles of it (50 ml. and 100 ml.). The aguardiente (hot water) vibe given by anise, licorice, and absinthe is balanced out perfectly by the floral, vetiver, and sandalwood accords, ingredients that prevent the perfume from being overly sweet, thus adding beauty and masculinity to the whole composition. Even though almond, vanilla, and praline notes are present, they don't compromise the harmony of the perfume; instead, they highlight its allure. If you're a scent aficionado (or just a perfume enthusiast), Lolita Lempicka Au Masculin is totally worth having in your collection. My advice is to go get this delicious olfactory treat before it's gone forever.

Licorice and vanilla just running like a jail break! Lolita Lempicka Au Masculin is just gourmandish fun in a bottle. The vanilla, and licorice are really enticing in the opening. Then as the tonka, almonds, pralines and rum show up to ramp up the sweetness, we get a feeling that this scent is just going to be licorice and vanilla with no relief. But instead of coming off as all vanilla and no filler... BOOM! The violet, ivy, basil, vetiver and sandalwood give this scent a nice earthy woody base, and the sweetness is cut. The base of this scent really comes off true to name; masculine with the cedar and labdanum playing off each other so well. I love this scent, it performs and evolves beautifully on my skin. This is to me one of the better cold weather scents and should be worn under a sweater and oxford shirt combo as you take in a coffee after catching an afternoon film at the cinema.

Well, blind bought it on a whim, just because it was so cheap and I liked the notes in it. And what a beautiful fragrance it is, anise and liquorice in a sweet creamy bed of vanilla with some soft woods in the background. I suddenly got a craving for liquorice vanilla ice cream :D I have a hard time stop sniffing my self all day when wearing this, and nice wafts of liquorice, vanilla and woods come at me from time to time. This is a great scent, and for the price you can find it, it's a steal, I almost feel bad to pay so little for this gem. I have the reformulation with the gold cap, and I find the strength of the fragrance just right, I wouldn't want it any stronger, 3 sprays and I'm good for a whole day, now almost 12 hours later I still can feel it from an arm length away. Superb! Has to be a solid 9/10, if I'd factor the price into the equation it would be a 10/10!

This is delicious! Someone described it as tender and romantic, that's the perfect way to put it. It's sensitive rather than macho, totally snuggleable. It is pretty sweet, but it keeps out of girly territory IMO, I couldn't wear it myself. As for how it smells, it has a touch of powdery vanilla on the surface, but beneath that there are the sweet spicy-herbal notes like anise and basil, warmed up just enough with something rounded and carmelized but not sugary. It's very smooth, and there's something in it that reminds me of the sweet herbal smell after it rains, which is probably the wild fennel we have here. The sweetness is toned down by cool woody notes in the background, giving it some backbone, although it's still a soft/light kind of fragrance rather than assertive. It could be very cloying if overdone, but if it's used lightly, it's wonderful.

An amazing, licorice based, sweet fragrance. Sweet yet still masculine. A complex scent but easy on the nose. Sillage is good but not offensive, longevity is also good. I have a vintage bottle with the sprayer built into the top and a more recent batch with a bottle cap. It is true, there is a difference between the batches. The vintage batch with the in-built sprayer is sweeter, more well-rounded and overall a better scent then the batches that have the bottle with a cap. There is also a very sweet initial, vanilla-ish, candy like smell that fades very quickly in the vintage bottle that the new bottle lacks. I'm not too sure what it is though. I am also keen to smell the new Lolita Lempicka Homme, which on paper looks like a remake of this. Overall, a lovely scent. Recommended to all gourmand lovers. Ratings Sillage: 7/10 Longevity: 8/10 Scent: 9/10

This is a nice scent that combines the licorice anise smell with some soft vanilla.. I am not sure which version I have right now, but it doesn't smell as heavy as I remembered it. This is a decant so I don't have the bottle.. I think it smells nice and the licorice is well blended.. We all know licorice is in there so we are focused on it but if we didn't know it wouldn't be as profound.. This one seems versatile.. Like you could wear this in the spring/fall/winter and quite possibly the summer on cooler nights.. It really has a freshness about it now.. The licorice note almost acts as a "minty" accord and the vanilla and sweet/powdery notes aren't too thick. I think this EDT version could be considered a fresher scent now. scent 4.5/5 Performance 3.5/5 currently..

I'm not too fond of Licorice based fragrances because I'm just not. I consider them overly aggressive and intrusive. BUT this fragrance from Lolita Lempicka was launched around 2000, just when modern perfumerie was on the cusp of being battered, butchered and beaten because of those demagogues over at the IFRA. Au Masculin just survived and thank the Lord because it's a totally top drawer scent. Quality note after quality note and it's lasts eternally even surviving a shower. If I buy another one it'll probably be a Vintage formulation because God only knows what it's like nowadays. I think Annick Menardo is a fine perfumer that doesn't get enough recognition. To me though that reputation is solid

Being a massive anise&vanilla fan, I went berserk when I saw this beauty with its lovely bottle.The hunt ensued. And after a fair bit of searching around, I caught Tinkerbell. This is definitely quite unique both in design and scent. The body of the fragrance mainly consists of this lovely, smooth play-doh smell. It blooms into this tender-yet-spiky ivy, anise and basil combo in the opening, a playful licorice, and a garden full of flowers yet to be named. I'd love for it to last a bit longer on my skin. This turns quite intimate after a couple of hours. Amazing line, though. I'd like to get my paws on EDP Intense, which I've heard is yet heavier on anise. One can only hope.

It breaks my heart that this was discontinued and that the stocks of this and all the AM flankers are apparently already depleted. If you're a fan and you find a bottle, buy it on sight. I am actually encouraged to see that the new men's fragrance still has the vanilla/licorice core of this one, but it does seem to be a drier fragrance overall as the praline note seems to have been removed. I am intrigued by the apparent prominence of the almond. and as a masculine floral note they could not have chosen better than to pump up the violet (in my pro-violet, heavily-biased opinion :), so the new one definitely looks like re-interpretation and a few steps in another direction.

Finally got my hands on this gem after procrastinating over getting it for some time now. Well, right from the start this fragrance bawls masculinity, it is certainly the epitome of macho, it's sweet and spicy in a very macho composition. It has certainly lived up to its hype I must say but I feel it is quite very similar to Le Male... it gives me that Le Male feel to say the least and I very much prefer this than Le Male. UPDATE: The dry down is amazingly out of this world, it kind of reminds me of a richer more refine 212 Sexy... its certainly a keeper. I really love this fragrance.

Annick Menardo did a true masterpiece with Au Masculin. Here's the fragrance for those men who are romantic, poetic, charming and aren ́t affraid of showing their emotions. Sadly this is another one that entered the discontinued realm. For many years it was in my purchase list while it was still available in stores, and when I finally had the chance of buying one it was completely gone. Imagine this is the fragrance that The Hatter wears in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, it's magical and sweet, yet manly and mysterious. Sweet, sexy, attractive... Love it!

per chi, come me, ha amato la versione femminile di lolita lempicka, una bomba di anice e liquirizia che, al suo esordio, sembrava un'idea bizzarra e nuova, non rimarrà deluso da questo fratello più timido e fresco. le note di base sono le stesse, ma qui l'effetto, che richiama a gran voce le malle di jpg, è più morbido e discreto. liquirizia ed anice come note iniziali, lasciano presto il posto ad una vaniglia sorretta da rum e fave di tonka. l'assestamento è a fior di pelle e sa di vetiver. un bel gourmand orientale che non stufa per dolcezza. buono!

This reminds me of Body Kouros, as it feels kind of medicinal even though the notes appear to be different, but Annick Menardo is the nose behind both. Fairly sweet in the opening, I get licorice and aniseed, with some softness in the background. It settles down to a smooth boozy scent, which then reminds me of the Le Male because of the vanilla. Good for cold weather, performance is pretty decent on recent formulation, I get over 8h on my skin. Projection is good for the first 2h, then I get a skin scent. Age: 20+. Occasion: casual, romantic, night

I tried the femme version like decades ago and decided to get this now and omg! This one is the longest lasting and the most progressive from all my collection. For the first 3 hours is not for everyone. 4+ hours to 15+ hours everything that not so many people like "licorice, anise, sweetnes" this all blends and progress into woody & musky gentleman scent like the name says "Eau Masculin" this is a piece of art and a niche quality with superb performance and longevity. I got a very good old batch 12 years old 50ml for 18$ only!

i hadnt seen this brand in my town until last week I found this in a shop.it was on the top shelf.today I decided to go there and buy this.so I did .when the seller brought it down a layer of dust had sat on it .he wiped it and I took a look at the batch code; it was surprisingly 2000 batch.i just bought it .taking it out,I saw its the built-in atomizer. I didnt think one day I could even see a lolita masculin , let alone a pre-reformulated nonremovable cap one. licorice is completely obviouse .it has a wierd smell.

My main Lolita fragrance is the Minuit feminine version. This is my second favorite, and I keep a sample vial in my bag for emergency mood management at work. They are both pretty sweet, sweeter than the older EDP apple release. To my nose, this and the feminine EDP are more similar, and the Minuit is off on a tangent. I don't find this particularly masculine, but it is strong. I wouldn't wear it in close proximity with others in an enclosed space. It really radiates off the skin, and is a distinctive scent.

All I can say is this, heaven in a bottle. It's so smooth, sensual, sexy and dark. In a way it is like the women's but don't let that turn you away. The women's is semi masculine in itself. Like the women's it has that smoky, smoldering wood smell with licorice but the vanilla in this is more intense and theres a lot more spice. If you're a huge fan of Le Male by Jean Paul Gaultier, Pi by Givenchy, or 1 Million by Paco Rabanne, this is a must have. I am so happy to have this as an addition to my collection.

Wearing this today and it's 45° outside. I swear I was wearing this wrong, had this bottle forever and wow I'm in like again. Definitely performs better in cooler temperatures, the vanilla and anise come out stronger and smells bolder and better. Give a great vibe and stills turns heads and has a long lasting effect. Compliment getter yes, good sillage and longevity yes! This is a good blind buy if you haven't already witnessed this juice. As always! Try it for yourself, everyone has different DNA!!!

Edit: I've bought EDT and my opinion is a little chanced, that is ... EDT has some notes more clear than in Tester: more vetiver and less pralines and rum... Moreover, - sillage: is romantic (I do not want to use weak in Lolita Lempicka fragrances) - longevity: is still outstanding (after swimming session, shower and 12h before, it is whispers on my skin; and is doing well) I wanted to be stronger, close to JPG and TM. Now I understand the pictures in the advertisement :))

It's annoying enough that nowydays they're trading with watered perfumes. You like and get using a certain fragrance for years and booom, you buy a new bottle which is weaker than earlier (2012), such a shame... I bought a new Au masculin tester (batch code-July 2015) because I ran out of it, the cap color is different-goldish and there is no paper with the notes on the bottle under the cap. The juice itself is weaker, softer, lasting is slightly the same about 5-6 hours.

The licorice opening is excellent, and paired with a realistic vanilla. After a few hours, the licorice dissipates and leaves with the vanilla with a little bit of burnt sugar. Not a bad scent at all, I was just a little disappointed that in the end, vanilla was what I was mostly left with. I mean, I like the smell of vanilla, but it is everywhere. It's still a good scent, and if you're a fan of vanilla and licorice, there should be nothing to stop you from trying it.

My absolute favourite fragrance. I own 3 bottles, one being the vintage formulation with the built in sprayer. Both are equally fantastic. The vintage being better by a small margin. It's a bit more.. "full" of a scent. Licorice/Vanilla bomb. I wear it all year round, less so in summer. Absolutely fantastic. Body Kouros is a close second, a darker, edgy version of Lolita. Also worth checking out. This is a stand out fragrance. Truely something special. 10/10

I am lucky enough to have one of the bottles with no cap/sprayer built into the bottle! Supposedly the newer formulations of this one (bottles with a cap) are a lot weaker/watered down. I have not smelled them so I cannot compare, but the older version performs nicely. This is a licorice fragrance through and through, so if don't like licorice maybe pass on this one. For me, I quite like it and it is a really nice addition to the collection. 8/10

This was an absolute beauty, one of my favourite fragrances of all time so sad it was discontinued. The newer version is similar but extremely disappointing. The original was kinda similar to Heure Verte by Killian but much lighter and had forest like element to it. I miss this so much but can’t afford to pay what people are asking for the few bottles left. I wish they brought the original back or someone copied it. Heartbreaking!

I had the old version and reviewed it also. Very pleasant , seductive, masculin n cozy scent. I enjoyed it a lot especially in fall. It had a rich aroma, character and charisma and you could easily sense the quallity from the first spray. But now, yes it has been reformulated!!! The bottle with the gold cap looks very silly. The scent is poor and does not hold same gem. Longevity and projection is poor also. I ́m sorry..not cool

For me, this one is complex. I get a clean soapy-like scent, slightly feminine. Seems to have decent projection and excellent longevity. While I love the scent, I use it lightly and infrequently in the office as I am concerned it may be a bit much for it's projection and feminine characteristics. I do love it for it's uniqueness and as a result purchased L'Eau Au Masculin Midnight version, which I have yet to receive.

A sweet boozy, anise, vanilla bomb!! The lighter notes are sharp, but dissipate in seconds to leave a wash of sweet scent that lasts for ages. I love this fragrance, with the herbal notes closer to the skin than the boozy, vanilla, and licorice notes, which project outwards. I am so happy with this purchase and would encourage you to grab a bottle. Unsure how easily it is to get, but it’s worth the chase. 8/10

Though this is made for men, I wear it and love it. It starts with a cinnamon toast scent that I’ve only experienced once before with Tocca’s Brigitte. Then I get a medicinal licorice, followed by candy black licorice and woods. Next, more woods and a bit of citrus. There’s a almond-cherry soft woods phase, and finishes with more cinnamon toast and something a little sharp. Not too intense, nice projection.

Love this scent! Even my daughter loves to spray this on her, requesting me most of the time to spray it on me before I put her to bed! lol! This is a very unisex fragrance, just like Fleur de Male. Very sweet, creamy, powdery kind of juice. Lasts me all day with 2 sprays. This is my first bottle from the house of Lolita, so I'll try the other ones. Hope they don't disappoint! Longevity: 8/10 Sillage: 8/10

The bad reviews are probably mistaking this for Homme which is a cheap copy that is trying too hard. I don't know what they were thinking. Maybe it is due to regulations of past ingredients, but I'm not sure. It's the difference between hearing a song masterfully performed vs. someone trying too hard at karaoke on your favorite song. I wish they would bring this one back.

I have the one with the cap. At opening, it smells almost exactly as Greek beverage called "ouzo". After 10 minutes, it loses that alcoholic note and turns into fresh, sweet minty feeling (I know mint is not listed in the notes, but that is the feeling I get). Overall, very, very nice scent! Scent: 8.5/10 Longevity: 8/10 Silage: 8/10 Overall, great great fragrance :)

Lucky for me that I have the old version. Performance is outstanding but it can be overbearing at times. Best used in fall/winter or cool spring days. With majority of the gourmand notes dominating it is quite surprise that the boozy notes appears the dry down giving it a nice masculine touch. Women should feel very comfortable wearing this as well.

What to say... This is a star anise/licorice enthusiasts dream fragrance. I was lucky enough to get the first formulation. The anise/licorice last for most the duration of the fragrance. It is sophisticated and rich enough to appeal for 'non licorice lovers'. It got a nice candy-like dark licorice scent, that is just enchanting.

My go to fragrance. It's strong, but that's what I'm looking it in fragrances. Delicious, sexy, mordern. It's "avant garde". Performance is powerfull. I had the original bottle, and now the one with the removable cap, and both have similar sillage and lasting. Notes are very well blended, making an addicting gourmand juice.

LOVE IT ! aroma cowok yang sangat 'floral','spicy' dan 'sweet'. penyuka aroma maskulin yang kuat, mungkin tidak menyukainya. parfum ini jelas pada kelas yang berbeda, tidak untuk setiap cowok, apalagi yg sok tampil macho. aromanya kalem, elegan, simpatik...sayang, drydownnya sekedar manis sama seperti parfum2 lainnya.

@Palmsquad batch numbers repeat every ten years. If you bought it in 2003 but the batch was saying 2021, then it's batch from 2001, learned that because I found an original bottle from 2002 while cleaning out a closet of a relative's old stuff and was mystified by the supposed date of the batch.

The smell of this one is easy to describe: Black licorice cookie. Actually, it's more complex than that. Imagine a licorice cookie with anise, vanilla, rum, praline, violet, and ivy. That's Lolita Lempicka Au Masculin. A wonderful, delicious winter gourmand. Has a powdery vanillic base.

Moon Scent say it best: this is THE benchmark, totally original, still unmatched, star anise and licorice fragrance. I only owned 1 original batch bottle when it came out. I got mad compliments on it. Nothing like it then or now. Authentic sharply sweet but not gourmand licorice.
