Lolita Lempicka Le Premier Parfum

Strange story: I actually blind bought this a few days ago at Shoppers Drug Mart from the $20 perfume shelf. No joke! A week before I had been thinking about getting the newer version in the faceted bottle from Rexall for around $70 and I feel so lucky to have found this version for only $20. I originally thought it was somehow that new Le Parfum 2021 because of the yellow box + white cloud logo but when I got home I realized it said Pacific Creation at the bottom of the box/sticker on the bottom of the bottle. I like this! I like this a lot! I love it! I'm a perfume noob but I'll try to explain my experience... I haven't really smelled anything like this, maybe other than La Petite Robe Noire on a paper strip in store but that's only from right when I spray it. It's sweet, but not overwhelmingly so like some newer gourmands I've smelled and the stuff my teen sister likes. Cherry, licorice, anise to give some spice, and powdery violet. As time goes on it turns into a sweet spicy vanilla and then finally a not very sweet musk. I think I can see why people call this a "magical" "fairy" perfume. The top and middle notes seem to stick around longer on my clothes compared to my skin. It's not super strong or cloying in my opinion and I was able to wear it outside today during the summer. I think it could be worn anytime but it's possible that it could be even better during cooler weather. My bottle is 30 ml and I'm not sure what I'll do once I use this up. I'll keep the bottle on display because it's so pretty. I hope Le Parfum 2021 is similar enough to this and that it will be available where I live someday. I wonder if this could be my signature.

Oh my, how I love you my sugarliscious Lolita Lempicka! This is cotton candy in a bottle. I discovered this fragrance when it was first released in 1997 and I never forgot its signature scent. The new edition is quite identical. It is, firstly and mainly, sweet but, it is not sweet in a tacky way; rather it feels like pleasant childhood. It starts off as a somewhat heavy scent (but do not let that disappoint you) as it gradually develops to a pleasant sugary smell like cotton candy or burnt sugar with a powdery twist of iris, white musk and (if you smell really well) a bit of praline. Yet, it does not feel like a gourmand frangrance and I would not classify it as such so, do not be put off, you will not smell like a fresh pastry straight from the oven. I wouldn’t classify it as a fresh, clean, crisp fragrance so, if this is what you are looking for then this fragrance is not suitable for what you want. It is quite the opposite; it is a warm, sweet, powdery, distinctive fragrance suitable for daytime and nighttime. I recommend this for all ages, as it can feel carefree and innocent to younger girls or rich and sexy to... less younger girls :) The bottle is wonderful too, a little jewel on your vanity desk. I would suggest that "Candy" by Prada is a lighter version of this fragrance; it is exceptionally identical. To me, Lolita Lempicka feels a lot like a signature scent and others will definitely ask you "what perfume are you wearing”. Please, do not betray our secret... Enjoy the perfume quest!

I have all/most iterations of this fragrance now, 1997, 2010, 2016 and the 2021/23 reformulation - with the exception of a full bottle of 2016 formulation (planning to get for completionism reasons 😂) Whilst they do all smell very similar, the earlier formulations have much better staying power and are stronger one the dry down. LL of the 2020s is strong on initial spray but quite intimate and becomes a skin scent after only a few hours. It’s also very... mossy on skin. It has a hint of wet soil/wet leaves in the autumn - not horrible in the least but it’s there less subtlety than the earlier versions. The others dry down with a similar note which leans more powdery. 2016 is cherry forward, less moss and weaker sillage and staying power, whilst it’s nice it certainly is less forest fairy-like than the OGs and the recent reformulation, and more cherry sweet. On clothing they are similar, the 21/23 version stays a bit longer than on skin but projects a little less. It also leans more licorice heavy for longer. The 1997/2010 project more and leans more sweet/powdery for much much longer. I don’t believe that the scent is ruined at all. if you liked the original version and the Pacific Creation version then the 2021/23 will work well, it’s a shame it doesn’t have the oomph of the earlier versions, but it’s a very affordable, ethereal perfume which lends itself well to walking through the woods just as the leaves fall.

I just got this today and I've been sniffing my wrist all day. Lolita is so different compared to anything I've smelled in a perfume store before. By that I mean everything else has a specific style being very sweet or very fruity or floral. Lolita is warm, spicy, a gentle floral... I don't get TOO much sweetnes from this and one spray has just enough volume. The first spray reminded me of Escada's Magnetism for some reason. Unfortunate for me! Magnetism will always remind me of an overcrowded girls bathroom with broken stall doors at an artsy club and Magnetism hit me like a wall filling the small space and the lack of air with it's tacky sweetness. These two share a similar opening. Maybe it's the iris, musk and vetiver hinting at the very beginning - elements Lolita and Magnetism share. But after some time the vanilla and other spices start to push through and the scent turns a little more delicious and abandons it's small similarities with Magnetism. Despite the cutesy bottle that looks like it fell from a magical tree this isn't a childish scent. It's very grown up, serious and it's got unsual ingredients and elements and it's truly unique. For sure it won't please everyone. This definitely isn't a mainstream scent trying to appeal you with safe choices. I love how unusual it is.

(crossposted from the Lolita Lempicka page - I didn't know there was a reformulation, so what I have is probably Le Premier) I SO badly wanted to love Lolita Lempicka. For years it's been recommended to me because I like sweet spicy orientals. My friends and family also told me that the bottle reminds them of me - purple and gold and shiny. And it would look so pretty in my room, which is purple. LOL. But all I got was a strong "insect spray" vibe at first. The licorice was there, but majorly overpowered by the poison. I waited and waited and waited for something sweet and delicious - the almond, vanilla, praline - to reveal itself - but I was disappointed. The lasting lingering note was an acidic musty moss that sort of reminded me of lawn fertilizer. Perhaps my brand new .17oz mini had turned before I applied it? Or the EDP sprays are different? Maybe I need to go to a store and test a fresh tester before I make a final decision. Edit: I tried a spray tester yesterday and loved it so much that I bought a bottle. It's indulgent - lots of cherry, licorice, and something warm. A little bit goes a long way. It would be pretty easy to overdo it with this one. It's been 9 hours since I applied one squirt on my neck and I can still smell it. Good lasting power.

It’s kinda funny to read all the reviews saying this isn’t the same as the og ‘97 version. Not because I doubt they’re right, but because I’m here to say the same about this reformulation and the 2017 release. I have the 2017 version and it’s ok. LPP and 2017 are definitely related, they’re similar scents, though LPP has a depth and pleasantness 2017 lacks. That is the reason I ended up getting a vintage: I like 2017’s smell, but it lacks depth, quality and, why not say it, a certain something that gives MPP a class that 2017 tries, and fails to emulate. With 2017, I have to overspray like crazy to have any kind of lasting power. With LPP I can just use a couple of spritzes and have it last for quite a while. 2017 definitely feels more like an edt, I thought that even before getting LPP. Also, it’s obvious to the eye, but the classic apple is a much more aesthetically pleasing bottle. 2017’s bottle is just hideous. I’m just kicking 20-year-old me. I did try this one during my first big perfume obsession phase (around 2012) but I was much more into sugary sweet scents and didn’t care for LL’s underlying ‘earthy/dirty/whatever’ notes. Funny how tastes evolve. Making this my signature :) I’ll have to get more vintages!

Maybe I have smelled or tested this in the past but I have absolutely no memory of that. Unbelievable! I am pretty sure that I have tried the relaunched edition today. The notes seem to be fairly identical, except for the anise/star anise as well as orris root? First spray is very green and fresh, the forrest theme definitely plays out nice in the top notes! I immediately detect the ivy and violet (the most prominent note throughout on me). After that everything sort of melds together. Sometimes LL turns somewhat moldy on me and I think that might be the anise and licorice playing tricks on my skin. But after 1 hour that's completely gone and I'm left with a slightly powdery, green but warm scent. The licorice and vetiver really add some depth. Funny enough: I don't get the cherry coke vibe or even that much of vanilla, tonka or praline! A very sophisticated scent that's def not only for "Lolitas" As for the Angel comparison: I think that Angel paved the way for a lot of gourmands out there. However, the patchouli note in it is unique as is its dry down. However, Angel lovers (like me) will most likely appreciate LL. :)

god, i just love this fragrance. how can a fragrance be so perfectly blended and have such an amazing note pyramid? it's truly a mystery. everything i love is in this one. ever since i've smelled this frag i've been obsessed. i primarily smell sweet cherry, licorice, and the other floral notes like violet and iris. i also get a delicious vanilla and tonka bean note. it's sweet, but the licorice and anise balance out a lot of the sweetness. it's a dreamy, mystical, fairy-like scent and i cant get enough of it. i can see niche fragrance lovers enjoying this one or anyone who is a fan of unique, whimsical and mysterious scents. i feel like a fairy when i wear this. i have the pacific creations version. the bottle is absolutely gorgeous and i just love lolita lempicka so much. their old packaging is definitely better though. besides that minor complaint...their fragrances, packaging, and overall aesthetic is top tier. this one in particular is so nice. i can see myself wearing this for a very long time to come. so in love. ♡💌

I just love this stuff. I also love black licorice, FYI. A friend of a friend's boyfriend (disclaimer) got very excited when I was wearing this the other night. Told me that I smelled great, smelled everyone at the tables' wrist and said I was the winner as far as best smelling and just made quite a production of this. Then he excitedly proclaimed that I smelled like a stripper. Yay, thanks! To him this really is the highest compliment as that is 95% of his female companionment but still. Men seem to like this as I really hardly ever get comments on fragrances other than from my husband after I thrust my wrist in his face. This is sweet, spicy, a bit green, and definitely gourmand but not overbearing. I actually wear a light spray at work, which is in a hospital doing direct patient care (although not nursing) and have never received a complaint. I feel like this is a crowd pleaser. I wish it lasted a bit longer, I usually get 3-4 hours, but it has good silage and just smells great so I will gladly reapply and repurchase.

I have the Lolita Lempicka 97 version on one arm and the Pacific Creations post 2010 version on my other. Although they have the same DNA, to me they start off quite different. The LL is more mysterious it has slightly heavier notes of the vanilla and tonka bean coming through, the silage is not as strong though and I find myself pressing my nose right up to my arm trying to put my finger on what makes it so enigmatic. The PC version is *kapow cherry - like a crimson caped comic book hero bursting onto your 1970’s television screen. The licorice, ivy, vanilla and violets are all still there, they just play sidekick to the main character long into the drydown. Silage is also massive, LL feels a little more demure than her replacement. Hours later I struggle to smell either on me (the result I think of wearing it on and off for over two decades), though my husband appears and tells me they now smell exactly the same. This fragrance is an absolute lifetime of love for me as my number one.

This is a long time favourite. It is the sweetest thing I have but it is not nearly as sweet as lots of gourmands around, and the sweetness is tempered by a green freshness and the licorice. It is not dense and sweet but luminous and surprisingly airy. In this respect, the anisic licorice along with the purple florals make this seem like a modern spin on the Après l'Ondée and Heure Bleue classics. I wear this all year round but it is particularly lovely in the winter with the sweetness, spices and green notes which all combine for a sugar plum fairy effect. This is a very clever fragrance. It is not too busy but manages to throw up fresh, floral, sweet, juicy and spicy facets. I have worn this on and off for years and never get bored. The midnight flankers are also very good and they - and this - are always available reasonably priced without being constantly re formulated. You have to be grateful for clever, reliable quality. There will be a place for this in my wardrobe.

Delicious, sweet, gourmand, intriguing and magnetic fragrance! The leading note of this fragrance is the Amarena cherry note. And this is my favorite cherry in perfumes. It smells really sexy and lively. Mixed with the anise note and the ivy note, it also brings sourness to this fragrance and makes the very noticeable praline note and the vanilla note less sweet. The liquorice note and the tonka bean note also make this fragrance more yummy. Besides, the violet and the iris note make this fragrance more dark and seductive. And the musk note makes this beauty more feminine. In the beginning of the opening this fragrance smells really enchanting. And with the help of its marvelous bottle it really reminds a fairy-tale!:) Later it starts to smell more simply, mostly even sickly sweet praline and liquorice with cherish, anise and musky nuances. But I like it anyway because the combination of its notes is really original and gorgeous! Love it!!!

It's the strongest, strangest most complex, in-your-face "wow!" effect perfume I've ever had. I never knew perfumes could smell like this! All my others have always been light and fruity, floraly or sweet. This is warm, rich, thick, DARK, smooth and spicy. It's such a mixture of different things. I get spicy liquorice and anniseed/cinnemon, red apple at first, then it settles down to a dark chocolatey spicy twang eventually. It's just so unique! Mysterious and sexy. I'm on my third bottle. The bad thing was that throughout my pregnancy I could not STAND it....the thought of the scent made me feel sick and I had to wrap the bottle in a sock, then a bag, then put it in a cupboard because it'd trigger a violent hurl! (But then the smell and thought of bread did the same-pregnancy is weird!) But.... I've had my lovely little baby now, so the gorgeous bottle stands proudly on my chest of drawers for me to indulge whenever I want :D.

I blind bought this because i was dying to smell a gourmand/spicy frgarance and LL is so popular, i figured i couldnt go wrong. I am so glad i tried it more than a couple of times because this perfume is delicious. I did not like it when i first sprayed it on, i detected the earthy green moss, tobacco and hair spray smell and overwhelming sweet vanilla. Upon the third try though, the harshness of the hair spray and tobacco like smell was gone. I dont know why but maybe shaking the bottle before spraying it on did it or my nose probably had adjusted to the smell. The licorice and green ivy are prominent during initial spray but it dries down to a lovely powdery slightly floral/spicy vanilla and licorice combo on my skin. I thought that it would be too warm and sweet for hot days but the heat actually brings out the floral note a bit more. Projection is soft and longevity is moderate but all in all, a happy blind buy.

Good one! Unusual (meaning interestingly composed; it isn't new so it's well known already) and joyous; that's how I imagine fun would smell like. Has a lot of sweetness but also kind of a minty feel to it... and oh, the violets and vanilla! It reminds me a lot of Extreme by Paul Smith. I'm testing right now and I'm having J'adore on my other wrist - strangely enough, the combination of them both pleases me even more than each one on its own. It's even possible to consider getting a bottle of it. P.S. I got a bottle of the original version thinking that there won't be too much of a difference. However, the original one is so smokier and spicier, definitely not the same scent. They are both worth having but I still like the reformulation a bit better. It's fresher and easier to pull off as a daytime fragrance.

I have all the versions from 1997 to 2021 and o boy has this changed drastically best version always is the first Smells deeply rounded and smooth intoxicating like making love for the very first time Mystical and esoteric at the same time such a vintage quality like I could have worn this in another life time PC version is so much lighter breathable airy still as potent but I don’t melt under this In the dead of winter this feels bone chillingly cold Mon premier disgustingly childish cherry pop mixed with LL dna Could pass as the grandchild LL le parfum barely lasts 1hr on my skin It has been reduced to nothing and sadly smells synthetic but with close original DNA Overall it still Carries the DNA throughout the decades it lasted and still available in its original gorgeous purple hued apple bottle Amazing

This is Winter wonderland in a bottle. Liquorice, violet and anise make it both icy and sweet in a way that no other fragrance can. The sparkly flower promotional pictures are spot on for this frosty spicy violet scent. When I wear Lolita Lempicka, I feel like I'm wearing a warm sweater and furry boots, and I'm eating or drinking something spicy at a traditional German Christmas market. Lolita Lempicka also reminds me of Batna candy, anise and liquorice flavoured caramel which was my favourite kind of candy when I was little. There are so many good memories in this cute little apple that must have been made in Santa Claus' workshop. And it lasts forever. Not even washing powder can remove the scent of Lolita Lempicka from clothes. You've been warned ! So sad that this beauty is now discontinued.

It smells exactly like what i imagined it to be and the bottle is the prettiest i've seen in my life It smells like a spicy cherry licorice perfume Mysterious as i imagined a perfume worn by a fairy Mmmm Very special, and very different than any other perfume i own in my collection (i'm addicted to perfumes i have 35 bottles at the moment) 10/10 for the originality 8/10 for sillage and longevity A claaaaaassic in any perfume collection But only for sweet perfume lovers

Gorgeous forest fairy bomb! I get less of the fruit on my skin, and more of the earthy notes. So this pretty much feels like I was just rolling around on a damp forest floor, with magical fairy dust, of course ;p The office where I work is considered fragrance free, but a few of us rebels spritz anyway as it is such a small department, and honestly, not many folks come around.. Anyway! While at work, a co-worker from another office came in and immediately commented on the amazing smell.. half embarrassed, and half flattered, I asked "what? this?" and came closer with my wrist out. He said it was amazing, and perfectly balanced -- "not too sweet, not too strong, perfect". After I gave him the sample (because he loved it that much), I bought it! Yay!

I posted the following review on the original Lolita Lempicka fragrance, so I will post it here as well. Does anyone know if there is actually a difference between this and the original? The notes sound basically the same. I've been searching for "my" perfume for a while now, and picked up the Lolita Lempicka tester on a whim. I'm so glad I did! This scent is sweet in a very different way than the celebrity fruity florals that are so ubiquitous. I don't know if I've ever smelled anything so complex and interesting! Sweet, yet woodsy. Sexy, yet whimsical. Youthful, yet sophisticated. This is not a scent for young girls. This is a scent for grown women who still remember pretending to be a fairy princess falling in love with a handsome prince.

Let me start with the original ad - I think it's the most beautiful, most hypnotising ad for perfume ever. It's a piece of art. I remember watching it over and over again, and then the making-of video and being fascinated by how much work was put into it. It looked like perfume for an elf. :) I know the original version for many, many years, I think it's classic by now. But it will not not suit everyone. Having said thad, the newer version of Lolita Lempicka is a bit of a dissapointment. It's more sweet, more digestible. Lacks something that original Lolita had... Tobacco maybe? I don't know. The new ad is with Elle Fanning so I think its marketed towards younger audience.

I adore this perfume and am dismayed that the original formulation is so hard to find now. I sampled the new bottle and it is truly awful- sickening. I tracked down a vintage bottle and it is still glorious- spicy, comforting, whimsical, romantic. I thought I would grow out a of this scent due to the sweetness and ‘Lolita’ association but nope! It is quite womanly and dynamic on my skin still. This is such a unique scent and I don’t find it dated, either. So sad that it’s not in production anymore. This is sweet, gourmand-ish but for some reason I do not find it cloying. Just delicious, comforting, warm. This is probably best as a cold weather fragrance.

I’m not sure if I have the older or current reformulated formula of this fragrance. Either way I like this fragrance a lot. If I’m to be honest the cherry opening is not my favorite. Tho I don’t find the strong Cherry blast unpleasant I’m just not a big fan of strong cherry scents. However the dry down of this fragrance is so lovely and comforting, Its worth it to me to live with the first few mins. The dry down to my nose, is a soft, powdery, musky, vanilla that is simply the most gorgeous “powder” scent I’ve ever smelled! I do enjoy powder scents but this one is extra special and it makes me feel so cozy! I love wearing this scent at bedtime.

It's funny how different people describe the same scent. I cannot smell any licorice or (to be honest) any of the mentioned ingredients... For me it's pure woodruff (Waldmeister). Nevertheless it's fresh, clean, perfect for summer and a very delicious note. I had to think for a while as the scent was familiar but it took a few days as woodruff came to my mind. I looove it!!! I think this parfume develops individually on various skin types, so probably that's why it's described so different. Therefore I would suggest to test on skin before bying ;-)

I’m just confused by the above article and the notes it says are within the perfume but are not listed here in the scent profile. “It opens with notes of ivy leaf, pineapple, lemon, rosewood, sour cherry and anise. The heart features lily of the valley, rose, jasmine, licorice, violet and iris based on sweet almond, vanilla, heliotrope, tonka bean, musk, praline and vetiver.” So does it, or does it NOT have the following: pineapple, lemon, rose, sweet almond, jasmine, rosewood, Lilly of the Valley, and heliotrope?

I just bought this yesterday, and I have to say that I love it. There was something very familiar about it the first time I tried it. And when I read the notes I realized that it reminded me a little bit of the Angel, it must be the tonka bean and the vanilla. This is how the Angel should smell, and only very few people can pull it off. On me it smells so soft and warm, A little sweet but not too much. It's very balanced. It also has a sexy side to it. So far I am very happy with it!

Lolita Lempicka really live up to its hype! Lots of woods, lots of sweetness, and all in perfect balance! The licorice wood has that smoky kind of sweetness that is so alluring, the violet is so soft and tender, the ivy is fresh and green, the cherry is juicy and sweet, and the praline is divine! This is more than a dessert perfume! This is the forbidden fruit! A temptation, direct from the Garden of Eden!

I don't really care for the opening, but the drydown makes this perfume so fricking gorgeous! To be honest, the immediate opening smells like urinal cakes to me. I think the cherry note is the culprit; the same one that makes this perfume so beautiful later on. Seriously, just for the drydown this perfume is one of my favorites. Wouldn't wear this in summer though...

I was 19 when I get it for the first time and if I had known at this time that the 1st edition (eponymous name) would have been discontinued, I would have kept the botte ! Now I have le 1er Parfum and it will always be in my collection. It set some of my favorite perfumes. Gourmand, sweet, mysterious...the bottle is wonderful...perfect !

You get this sweet, fruity opening (think cherry vibes), then it shifts into something more powdery and slightly spicy, with that signature licorice twist that makes it stand out. It’s not a straightforward sweet scent it kinda evolves in a way that feels dreamy but also a bit unexpected.

Cherries and marzipan, yum! I only smell the licorice note right as I spray it on, but it's not too strong (which is good, because I'm not much of a fan). Very unique scent, and one of my favorites. I'd still like to smell the original someday, but for now I'm very happy with this one.

perfect blend perfect notes. found deep in a cabinet and wore the whole bottle out all throughout my thirteenth year. first signature scent, paired nicely with a subtle base of jasmine lotion. the anise, the cherry, the violet and musk. the powdery-ness is perfect.

hmm.. that's strange.. the top and middle notes seemed to have only slight differences from the old one while the base notes stay the same. would it change the smell of this marvelous fragrance? I hope not. I love lolita lempicka le premier!

Once you smelled this unique parfum, you will instantly recognize it later. A delicious but not a heavy fragrance. Victim of its own success, it is worn by many people, however it is one of my favorite scent.

Lolita Lempicka is a fantasy fairytale in a bottle. And like all good stories, this masterpiece of a fragrance is best enjoyed by letting go and losing oneself within its many hidden realms.

Oops! I wrote my LL review for the wrong version...thinking it was 'original recipe'. Reposting here: I'm finding that my first reaction to a scent never tells me what the relationship will be like. First, there's a wary coffee-date where I think the thing comes on too strong for me, then there's a stressful but fortifying lunch date where *I'm* trying too hard ... and it's the dinner date that settles us into mutual appreciation (and, invariably, apologies from me!). Initially, I was frustrated with this one - with the fragrance, and with myself: "Oh, if only. If only I could smell the notes I long to smell here ... " @Michelina's comment below was helpful to me (ie: this one may require a bit of patience). @collectyourdead's comment struck a note of dread...I was afraid I might end up agreeing with her (that this was a 'singular, synthetic, overly sweet perfumery disaster') The initial blast caused me to pull away: it felt synthetic, a little harsh ... Like a sweet, arty antibacterial handsoap that resolves into baby powder. Then, hints of violets and candy - the kind you're not supposed to accept from strangers. Still felt 'raspy' - powdery, but not in a good way. I found Katie Puckrik's take helpful ... it explained some of the weirdness ("it's got a chalky, almost dusty quality..."). I felt more hopeful once the vanilla and tonka bean rose to greet me, and it began to feel like home - this was after around 90 minutes in hot, humid weather. Did did *love* the drydown - clean, sweet, and musky. So It took a few days to befriend this fragrance; *now* I feel its immense charm - and am coming to rely on its interplay of anise / licorice and violet to get me through the day. My nose no longer remembers what I found harsh, for this is now a lively friend. And the drydown is exquisite.

Wrote this review in Feb 2014 for the original LL - LL, but since I just found out that I have the le Premier Parfum-version of LL, I'll copy it in here (since this is the frag I was reviewing): I love Lolita Lempicka EDP, but it seems that the love's not mutual. I guess I just don't have the right chemistry for it, as all I get from it is licorice/anise and (this might sound weird) but also something that smells like dried paintbrushes with water paint on it (you know, like from the paintbrushes in Kindergarten). Maybe it's the violet? The warmth and vanilla won't really come out on my skin and I'm so sad! I bought this about two weeks ago and I couldn't wait to wear it. I have smelt it on several others in the past and it's been deliciously warm, but on me it's not the same. EDIT: I had LL on yesterday before going to bed and my boyfrend said it smelt nice. Maybe it's just my imagination that it doesn't smell good on me? Or maybe others don't pick up the dirty/muddy note I talked about before. Maybe it's just the violet confusing me? I don't know, but the fact that my boyfriend complimented me when wearing LL I think I'll have to give it another chance. PS! I now know that I have the reformulated version from 2010, hence I will never have the same warm dry down I was missing, because in this new addition it's completely gone :( Still a nice enough fragrance though, but when you remember the old version it'll never be just as good.

Ah, this is a strange little one. Le premier pafrum opens with a very sweet note, reminding me of cakes and cookies. Then the fresh violet appears and stays there for a long time, supported by the sweet and slightly tart cherry and some praline I think. There is a licorice note as well, but that one is very faint. Later in time the strong violet starts to fade and the licorice and almond get stronger and sweeter. It is very fresh licorice, and I don't think it does the sweet salty smell and taste of the real thing enough justice. The drydown stays sweet for a long time, with a lot of gourmand notes, making this a quite delicious blend. But then, at a certain point, there's a very musty note, remiscent of lichen. Really strange. That note, however hasn't come to stay, fortunately, and a few minutes later the sweet licorice takes over again. There is still a slight trail of the must note throughout the rest of the drydown, but it has become more of a mossy, green scent, which is rather nice with the rest of the woody sweetness. Strange enough, it's the weird, not-very-nice musty note that makes this fragrance interesting. It would have been a nice gourmand without it, but the licorice is far too faint to be intriguing (I really do love licorice you know :))

I just got my bottle of this, reformulation of the original Lolita Lempicka. They don't show you in this pic above that there is a heart-shaped bite out of the apple, very cute way to show the difference in juice, (well it's the 1st full bottle size I've acquired of this brand, maybe they all have that?) My 1st thought was They took a bite out of it all right! The missing ivy is no fun, if you like the original's touch of green in there. For me, this formulation changed it from a night scent to a day scent. When I first spritzed it the flavor seemed too soft and sweet, but it settled down into an lovely airy cloud of licorice, more black than cherry. It could be a smidge of cherry softening the flavor of plain black licorice.. (beautiful black licorice scent= Etro Anice) I think it could be a nice work-friendly licorice for me. It's all very mild & not too foody in flavor, and has that nice aromatic character of the original. The drydown is very nice, a gentle white fuzziness with licorice in the background. Sweet but not in a loud or heavy way.

OK, I have finally made up my mind about LL and it's now a LOVE for me. I have been a bit on and off (for various reasons - see my previous review if you're curious). I wore LL out to town on Saturday for the first time and I've never been complemented more on how good I'm smelling. Complement 1 from my boyfriend: I like this perfume on you, this smells very good. Complement 2 from a random guy (that stopped me when I passed him in the bar): OH my god, you smell DELICIOUS! Wonderful fragrance. Complement 3 from my bestfriend: "You smell really good today, which one is this?". HA! It's a new record for me and I'm so happy for all the reactions. Also I think the Norwegian summer heat is really helping on how it's developing on me. Great success! I've decided to repurchase once I finish my bottle. <3

my whimsical and mysterious dark pixie, i miss u(r 2010 version) so much. despite my younger self having a much bigger fragrance collection than my present one, this is the scent i always go back to when i’m back in my hometown. it stays in my childhood bedroom though because i’m precious about this specific formulation haha. le parfum is definitely powdery, but not “old lady” at all— in fact, the scent is uniquely young and mysterious. the powdery notes here are not cliché, but a familiar song the fairies hum to lure you into their woods. edit: i got a sample of whatever the current (late 2024/early 2025) version is and i’m sorry to say it’s not the same :( the licorice and powdery notes are still there but they feel more extreme and i don’t notice the other notes as much

Being nostalgic for my student years, I bought it and suddenly realized that they changed my favourite 1997 version((( It lacks velvety tobacco and spicy star anise. shame. I guess they aim at broader public to like it. I still kind a like it, but now it misses something essential, it's warmth and depth, I guess. Update. Star Anise is missing because IFRA regulations prohibit its usage((( Shame! Shame! Shame! that such ingredients as oakmoss, jasmine, tea leaf, grapefruit, lemon, lime, musk along with many others are either prohibited or restricted to minimum concentrations. So many masterpieces will suffer!

I bought a bottle of this perfume after reading the reviews, as I'm a lover of licorice and aniseed. But the perfume feels a bit too "tender" to me. It took me a while to feel comfortable enough to wear it. All in all it is a pleasant and playful smell. I like to use it on occasion to add variety to the fragrances I wear. And yes, it is difficult to figure out what bottle is supposed to be what perfume as they all look very much the same and there is no name either in the box or in the flask... I'm not familiar with the other LL fragrances, as I only have this one, for the time being...

I wanted to love this so much. Or more precisely, i DO love this so much, bot not on my skin. I spray this in my house, because I love being surrounded but this deep, gourmande yet fresh (liquorice) scent, it has so many tones and notes and colors to it, every second that goes, the scent changes, there is so much to discover about this fragrance, it is an absolute masterpiece. Yet, something in it doesn't work on my skin, where the scent goes sweeter and deeper and much, much more humid. Such a shame.
