Mono Cachemire

This is a strange one. The first time I tried this in a store I immediately swooned, LOVED the powdery-muskiness and nearly bought it on the spot, but good sense prevailed, spurring me to test more thoroughly by ordering a sample. I was quite sure I'd found a potential signature scent here! Sample arrived, and I sprayed excitedly, ready to repeat that blissful moment of the first time, but.....I could barely smell it! I tried a few more times, on different days, with the same outcome. Nothing??? I happened to receive a second sample (randomly) with another order, so decided - 'okay, let's just spray this liberally and see what happens.' With a very liberal spraying, I could smell what I'd first detected that day in the shop - an enchanting clean, powdery, musky scent, with a hint of iris just beneath the surface. Lovely. BUT!! To my nose this is very similar to Sonic Flower (I haven't smelled FDP but am dying to after reading these reviews), and S.F. has much better performance and is slightly more affordable. Like many others have said, Mono Cachemire becomes undetectable pretty quickly. I want to love this --- especially for that limited edition green bottle it comes in (!!!), but I just can't smell enough for long enough to justify this one. Still, I think it's a beautiful clean skin scent. Update: Today I did a very liberal spraying of this from a sample and I'm falling more and more in love with it with each re-visitation. I get a hint of lipstick in this I REALLY love and am still considering indulging in a bottle so I could douse myself.....I just wish it projected more! But it's sooooo pretty and comforting and would be a super easy everyday perfume. Hmmm....

Brisk opening is a very short overture to fresh pear and bergamot in ambrette heart. It is sensual, appealing accord which lasts quite a while, softly complemented by iris. I adore the light, comfy version of musk and cashmeran. The base is not opulent - it is intimate but coherent and convincing. By the previous rewiews, I am lucky: with my skin the combination definitely isn't boring and monotonous. I belive it just creates a graceful aura without excess tinsel. --- Fades slowly (5-6hrs), retains intimate projection.

At first sniff, i was thinking « ok, it’s smell fine, but not mind blowing », but when I began to wear it on me, i cannot stop to come back to it, again and again. Very elegant, lovely. Very cocooning scent. I wear this very easily. It last many hours on my skin. A beautiful skin scent. I love so much this brand, i was happy to add this one in my collection, with piano santal and bouquet encore.

Oh this is so beautiful! Soft, and warm, and delicate and comforting. I mainly got the iris and cashmere notes, and a bit of sweetness. Would not purchase a full bottle, as the composition is not really my style, but it was lovely wearing it for a special spring trip.

Reminds me a lot of Etat Libre d'Orange's La Fin Du Monde, that salty, nutty ambrette has a similar buttered popcorn feel, but here it's less quirky and more put together. They're definitely siblings, though.
