Mono Cachemire

This is a strange one. The first time I tried this in a store I immediately swooned, LOVED the powdery-muskiness and nearly bought it on the spot, but good sense prevailed, spurring me to test more thoroughly by ordering a sample. I was quite sure I'd found a potential signature scent here! Sample arrived, and I sprayed excitedly, ready to repeat that blissful moment of the first time, but.....I could barely smell it! I tried a few more times, on different days, with the same outcome. Nothing??? I happened to receive a second sample (randomly) with another order, so decided - 'okay, let's just spray this liberally and see what happens.' With a very liberal spraying, I could smell what I'd first detected that day in the shop - an enchanting clean, powdery, musky scent, with a hint of iris just beneath the surface. Lovely. BUT!! To my nose this is very similar to Sonic Flower (I haven't smelled FDP but am dying to after reading these reviews), and S.F. has much better performance and is slightly more affordable. Like many others have said, Mono Cachemire becomes undetectable pretty quickly. I want to love this --- especially for that limited edition green bottle it comes in (!!!), but I just can't smell enough for long enough to justify this one. Still, I think it's a beautiful clean skin scent. Update: Today I did a very liberal spraying of this from a sample and I'm falling more and more in love with it with each re-visitation. I get a hint of lipstick in this I REALLY love and am still considering indulging in a bottle so I could douse myself.....I just wish it projected more! But it's sooooo pretty and comforting and would be a super easy everyday perfume. Hmmm....

Brisk opening is a very short overture to fresh pear and bergamot in ambrette heart. It is sensual, appealing accord which lasts quite a while, softly complemented by iris. I adore the light, comfy version of musk and cashmeran. The base is not opulent - it is intimate but coherent and convincing. By the previous rewiews, I am lucky: with my skin the combination definitely isn't boring and monotonous. I belive it just creates a graceful aura without excess tinsel. --- Fades slowly (5-6hrs), retains intimate projection.

At first sniff, i was thinking « ok, it’s smell fine, but not mind blowing », but when I began to wear it on me, i cannot stop to come back to it, again and again. Very elegant, lovely. Very cocooning scent. I wear this very easily. It last many hours on my skin. A beautiful skin scent. I love so much this brand, i was happy to add this one in my collection, with piano santal and bouquet encore.

Oh this is so beautiful! Soft, and warm, and delicate and comforting. I mainly got the iris and cashmere notes, and a bit of sweetness. Would not purchase a full bottle, as the composition is not really my style, but it was lovely wearing it for a special spring trip.

Reminds me a lot of Etat Libre d'Orange's La Fin Du Monde, that salty, nutty ambrette has a similar buttered popcorn feel, but here it's less quirky and more put together. They're definitely siblings, though.

This is Really nice. Smooth and creamy cashmere with a powdery iris and sweet ambrette. The aldehydes are also detectable, but happily not overpowering. It's the "light Blue" scent that gives it lift and lightness. Pear is also in the background along with ambroxan and something i can't identify. To me, it lacks a bit citrus to break up the powdery sweet note, but it is expertly blended. I really like this scent, but it does lean feminine, and it doesn't have a whole lot of projection. This makes it perfect for office wear or when you want to be discovered, not announced. Where: Semi-casual to fully formal ocations. It's elegant and light, so it's perfect for when you want to smell amazing, but be subtle and not loud. This for it's a perfect office, first date (for a woman), wedding (if only a guest) type of fragrance. Also for elegant ocations such as a dinner party, where you Shouldn't wear strong perfume as you're eating. When: Spring, summer evenings, or autumn. Day or night, probably leaning a bit more towards daytime. Who: I think this leans feminine to the level where few men would wear it, but a confident man definitely can wear it. Age isn't really an issue here. I see pretty much any age wearing this. Personal score: 8/10. It's great, but not quite for me. A bit too feminine, and too powdery (i do love a little powdery fragrances). I would say you really need to check this out if you want a nice subtle but beautiful, powdery cashmere fragrance.

i was initially so disappointed in this, but actually turned out pleasantly surprised. the trick for me was not comparing it to fdp, sonic flower, you, etc. it has similarities, but the initial spray was off putting. gave it time to dry down. this mainly pulls at the ambrette, iris, and musk on my skin, but the sweet pear is definitely present. it’s very clean, but it doesn’t smell super powdery on my skin. the key difference is performance. this is a soft spoken scent, but it’s not undetectable. it’s a good scent for a work environment, or being in close proximity. it’s like when you hug someone and realize they smell good naturally. i can see why this would be a turn off for some, especially at this price point.

Disappointing. I like the fragrance - yes it is a bit linear. But it only lasts 1-2 hours on my premoisturized skin, and a little longer if sprayed on my shirt. As another reviewer mentioned, I would have to spray several times a day to get the lasting power I want. I'm not looking for a beast, just some moderate longevity. Not full bottle worthy IMHO.

Initially I liked it as a clean scent. After a few try I realized that, even though there are some pleasant notes (cashmeran wood and ambrette), there is also a strong note that reminds me a detergent. I find this note too strong and disturbing, like an overdose of clean chemical smell.

A lovely skin scent that is a "your skin or better" type fragrance.. This is delicate light ambrette musk and gentle iris, slight citus in background to keep this bright. I would love to smell this on someone- fresh and clean skin without any soapiness. Simply beautiful and understated.

A softer Fleur de Peau. It starts of with beautiful aldehydes like FdP and dries down to a clean modern ambroxan. Perfect ”clean girl” perfume but I prefer FdP because that one has more uniqueness while this one is flatter with mainly just ambroxan

Clean like laundry clean type scent,, nice signature universal scent. Think purple, fresh, aquatic, cold, crisp, a little pungent, a little creamy, a little floral. Stays bright tho. A little sharp too

Very nice, inoffensive musk. To days when you don’t want to smell like parfum, just nice.

I love the smell of this one but it is a bit expensive for what it is.

first off, this does not smell like fleur de peau to me. same profile, but FdP does it better in every single way. i was so disappointed with mono cachemire - i honestly thought i'd love it, based on the notes i expected it to be beautiful, soft, sweet, comforting. the opening is very juicy and airy with the pear, and sets up for something good, but it quickly fades into a very sad, dusty ambroxan-heavy skin scent. there's no pretty iris, or creamy softness. it smells almost 'lived-in', a dusty whisper with an undercurrent of harsh cedar and ambroxan. the overall result is pretty confusing, and something i don't exactly hate but not something i'd care to wear when there's so many good iterations of this scent profile out there. the concept and execution do not match, and i'd go as far to say that this is badly executed. from trying their discovery set, l'orchestre parfum has a weird dna - it's angry, heavy, dusty and ambroxan-heavy, and i don't really like it, nor do i think it works well with many of their perfumes. 4/10

i get more of a strawberry than pear, anyone else? it's molecular clean, slightly shampooyi (think modern shampoo, not juicy or bright crystal-esque scents, molecular fruity shampooyi) and juicy. imagine a niche version of something like burberry her. if i smell it w my soul, i kinda get a strawberry-flavoured cough syrup, not that it's syrupy, but the fruitiness is resemblant of asian cough syrups. downside? it doesn't last at all but it's an OK feminine scent, not very memorable.

This is very linear and boring .. very light and close to the skin ... per some of the other comments - pencil shavings and powdery. You have to spray at leave 5ml in order to get some kind of projection ... not full bottle worthy in my opinion & these are notes I typically love .. this is MEHHH

Soft Musky Iris. Skin scent. Not especially unique if that's what you are looking for.

Very, very sharp opening. If you love aldehydes, this one is for you.

Pure ambrette and pencil shaving style cedar wood. In the same vein as Diptyque’s Fleur de Peau but packs less of a punch. Abysmal performance, this is the definition of a barely-there skin scent.

This is really weak! Barely a skin scent. All I smell is musk. I have to do a vintage 1987 coke bump sniff just to get a faint whiff.

You smell one of these types of dry iris musks you have smelled them all. A heavier on the cashmere Glossier You.

REALITY : You’ve smelled something like this before if you’ve experienced Fleur de Peau, Sonic Flower, Glossier You, Tanagra, or even Darin’s Musk from Swedoft. But strip all of those of what makes them distinct remove the sweetness, the brightness, the quirks and what you’re left with is Mono Cachemire. No sweetness. Just a soft, powdery musk with a hint of old-school cosmetics. Think your grandma’s vintage lipstick that's been sitting in a wooden box. REVIEW 🦪: Say it with me: just because the notes are the same doesn’t mean the fragrance will smell the same. In perfumery, a single aroma chemical can pull double duty. what reads as moss in one fragrance can read as a green accord (like ivy) in another. So when I saw the notes overlap with Fleur de Peau, Studied, Sonic Flower, Cuvée Skin, and especially Glossier You, I had high expectations to find something as close to the OG Glossier You as possible. On paper, they look similar. In reality they don’t quite meet. Mono Cachemire is far more subtle. All smoothness, no sparkle. Studied opens with a much sweeter pear—this doesn’t. Cuvée Skin leans softly gourmand—this doesn’t. Sonic Flower carries that pencil-shaving edge from old Glossier You—this doesn’t. And the current formulation of Glossier You feels more unrefined in comparison. It lacks the brightness of Studied, the intensity of Sonic Flower, the familiarity of Glossier You, and even the dimension of Fleur de Peau—what’s left is something quieter, smoother, and far more stripped back. I actually agree with the reviewer who said this smells like hugging your mom. The iris is prominent, and it instantly takes me there fresh out of the shower, warm steam still in the air, the soft scent of Oil of Olay drifting out past the bathroom door. It’s boring compared to the others but in a way that feels nostalgic and deeply comforting. Singular. Mono. Just like the name suggests. You don’t get much beyond a smooth, cream colored musk but that’s the point. It sits close to the skin. Warm, simple, and well done.

finally i have found a fragrance that actually smells and feels like hugging your mom when youre a kid. warm, soft, and human. i have tried other "your skin but better " fragrances but none of them ever really did it for me, but this is a great option

Very lovely aldehydic musk, but my skin eats it. I can’t smell anything after 10 mins. For this category, Sonic Flower and Musk K are better for folks with dry, fragrance-eating skin.

Usually I like aldehydes a lot but I did not like the opening on this at all. Very nice and in offensive dry down though. Low projection and low sillage.

Boring skin scent. Faint musk, that’s it. You smell it for a brief moment then it’s gone. There are much better “your skin but better” scents out there.

Beautiful, but literally lasted ONE HOUR and I over sprayed.
