Piano Santal

Beautiful. Simply elegantly beautiful. The name is fitting. Piano Santal made me expect a smooth, elegant and somewhat sharp and clear scent. And that's exactly what i get. Like the keys on a piano. Hit it hard and you get a lot of sound. And hit it soft for a soothing note. That's kind of what this is all in one. A sharp, smooth, creamy, citrusy, cashmere wood, sandalwood, iris, fig, and milk fragrance that manages to be calm and loud at the same time. I believe this has fig to give the sharp sour-sweet note and iris to give the powdery note. It Very much reminds me of Gris Charnel, but with enough variation to not just be a copy/inspired by fragrance. No spice and no vetiver, as in Gris Charnel, and there is a milky note in Piano Santal that is lacking in Gris Charnel. That said, it is very similar in a lot of facets on my skin. I have an original sample from both the brands, and testing side by side, they could be cousins. I never know what this "skin accord" is, as my skin doesn't smell like anything unless i skip showering, and this is Not the smell i get from that kind of skin. Where: This is semi casual to fully formal. Weddings, dates, work, if you work in a suit or dress stylish/elegant, evening out or meeting friends. This is a little too nice and elegant for a sweatpants and t-shirt day at home though, in my opinion. When: All year. It's probably a bit much for daytime in high heat summer, but a summer evening would be nice, and spring is perfect. winter and fall works great too, but i prefer more spice and warmth in that part of the year. Who: Any gender, but i can see this being a bit on the feminine side for some. Any age. It's got a sweet touch, and a crisp sour tone. So anyone should really be able to wear this. Personal score: 9.5/10 (i'm fighting the urge to give it a 9.75/10). I was blown away. I expected elegant and nice, but this over delivers in my opinion. Long lasting, great sillage, smooth and creamy, and sharp and powerful at the same time. WOW. Get a sample if you like iris and fig. If you like Gris Charnel, you Need to try this.

#805 in my "Tour de Fragrance" I've been a fan of sandalwood since my sister gave me an incense burner for Christmas when I was seven years old. I like it even better as a scent without the smoke. It's featured in a lot of scents I enjoy most: Le Labo Santal 33, Tom Ford Oud Wood, Amouage Reflection Man, Montale Wood and Spices, Creed's Green Irish Tweed, Dunhill Indian Sandalwood, Byredo Gypsy Water, Xerjoff Ivory Route. I could list a dozen more or more. It's a very long list of top rated scents, but this sandalwood scent from L'Orchestre is my absolute favorite for sandalwood. Smooth, creamy sandalwood, cashmere, musk, cumin, ambroxan, just a light brightness from the bergamot. I don't find this at all lactonic. One spritz does the job. Good projection, all day skin scent, one you have to go very easy on to not get kicked out of the car pool and office. I'd save it for dinner out with an intimate partner. Not cheap, and I say this infrequently, but it's a $100+ scent that's actually worth the money. I would say if you appreciate scents like Kalemat, Arabian Knight, Ankh Sun Amon, Anabasis, this scent will fit right in on your shelf. Not sure what it has to do with a piano .

absolutely beautiful creamy sandalwood. i work with a lot of south asian men and am thus around a lot-- a LOT-- of sandalwood fragrance lol. as a result i'm very picky with sandalwood-- it's one of my favorite notes to wear but after being around so much of it (and not always the good quality stuff) i'm very aware of its tendency to turn sharp and unpleasant. this is silky-smooth, sandalwood that's been sanded down to gorgeous softness, a mug of warm spiced milk on a sandalwood table. it's soft and clean and not overtly masculine. the kind of scent that has me trying to sniff myself all day lol. it's much better on my skin than on my clothes, though-- on my clothes it remains sharp and almost herby, on my skin it dries down to a much more gentle, creamy scent. i've never gotten any of the musky or sour notes that some people are talking about but my skin tends to dissolve and clean away musky/animalic notes like you wouldn't believe so it's maybe just my skin chemistry.

So beautiful and soft! Very creamy latonic sandalwood. Pretty fragrance yet very viril. Men can most def wear this and females too. Notes on website and packaging: White sandalwood, cedar wood, white musks, heated skin, bergamot, ambroxan, warm milk, caraway. I wear this after i bathe after i get home from work; i wear this when im cozy inside home and when i go to bed. Piano Santal is sweet animalic intertwined with background sandlewood. Sandlewood herbaceous. I guess white sandlewood?! Sandlewood is dense mist with recognizable presence that doesnt punch in face but sillage loud freshness as you move. The animalics is lovely. This is furry, soft woody and very creamy. Small amount of sweetness i think coming from caraway plus bergamont. I think warm skin note mix with caraway and cashmeran give off the cumin accord. There is alota notes to give off the musky creamy animalic accord. To a sensetive nose this may be too musky. This not soapy.

Definitely not a safe blind buy, I feel like this perfume works differently on everyone depending of their skin chemistry. For me this opens with a sharp musk and ISO e Super, but it quickly dries down to a more lactonic sweet scent, almost like if you spilled sugared milk on yourself. Sandalwood is present from the beginning and disappears after 6-8hours. This is super long lasting, and by super long I mean that I can still smell it on my skin 20+ hours after I sprayed it ! I really get the "piano" part, as I feel like a white touch of an old wood piano (not a stunning black grand piano though, more like a wooden, brownish upright one). It's cozy, warm and clean, I find it really addictive. For me, it's full size worthy but if you have other lactonic fragrances, it may not be. But you will prefer this one and buy it anyways, and you will be right beacause this is a masterpiece.

This fragrance is gorgeous! I boundaries bought and LOVE IT! It's soft but laconic and very well blended, buttery or creamy even and in a good way. Imo it's better than commodity milk, I sampled commodity milk as all the influencers were talking about how good it was and it's recent availability at Sephora stores, but I found commodity milk to smell synthetic and artificial, I wasnot a fan. If any fragrance, I find some reminisce of piano santal and zadig & zoltaire's This Is Her. They're not dupes, but similar to my nose. Piano santal is calm, comfy, cuddle worthy, lounging around with a chunky sweater; and a bougie netflix and chill night with someone who smells regal. It's the best blind buy I've ever made.

Wow, Piano Santal, I’ve fallen hard for you!! I’m honestly so pleasantly surprised how much I’ve grown to adore this one, as I’ve never been a big sandalwood lover until the past couple of years, finally discovering some sandalwood scents that piqued my interest. The sandalwood here combined with that lovely milkiness and hint of cumin make this THE most comforting, warm, approachable perfume, gently wafting around you like a warm hug for hours. It’s amazing, and reading the reviews it seems this is bewitching many of us with its addictive milky sandalwood magic. I’ve been reaching for this so much and I may just have found a new signature scent. Can’t imagine being without this one! BEAUTIFUL!!!

Love/Hate... The opening is too sour and at that phase when it's more projecting I even found it repulsive. The drydown is VERY nice, but at that point I only smell it really close to my arm (maybe 30 min after spraying it). It's a shame because the smell in the drydown is ideal for autumn, when it's still not cold enough for the most powerful, ambery and sweet perfumes. UPDATE: I’m definitely in love 😻 probably I didn't perceive it at first because my nose was overwhelmed with that loud opening but after a while I kept getting whiffs of the delicious drydown and lasted on my skin for 7h until I showered. Soft but really persistent! and next day my clothes still smelled... straight to wishlist!

A creamy, silky, and perfectly milky sandalwood with the touch of heated skin that feels reminiscent of a lovers embrace. This scent captures the sensuality of fingers dancing over piano keys, the soft and silky music of an orchestrated number, the rich woodiness of ebony keys worn in. It’s a lactonic fragrance with extreme refinement and a softly familiar envelopment. I feel that the cumin note may not be for everyone but I think when paired with the heated skin, it creates the feverish and primal aroma of what laboring away over a piano for hours would invoke. An almost sweaty sweetness? Either way this fragrance isn’t everyone cup of tea but it’s beautiful

It is light, fleeting and not particularly long lasting nor projecting but I am addicted to it. The cumin shows as the warm smell you would get from a body, in that sense is animalic and when mixed with the milk, it makes Piano Santal intriguing. And then... creamy sandalwood, no pickles as it isn't dry. It has a moderate sweetness while not being a sugary bomb. I finished my mini 15 ml that I got 2 years ago (great they have this option) and ordered a full bottle last week. I have a thing for sandalwood and lactonic notes so no surprise I got hooked on this ver particular combination which is done to perfection here.

The first collection from the house I got was this PIANO SANTAL. It was a blindbuy - and it was a success story! You get what you see from the notes breakdown and the music of piano santal they provide can give you perfect image on how the scent is!!! Its a cozy comforting sandalwood which is great for any occasion at any seasons! Lactonic and creamy woody with dash of spices, not too much just a right amount! Everytime I wear this scent, I felt like I am hugged by this fluffy teddy bear everywhere I go 😜 so comforting, so relaxing... its the kind of scent I always reach out to when I need some zen mode!

Incredible Evolution, Sensual and Cozy I am absolutely in love with Piano Santal by L'Orchestre Parfumeurs. The way it evolves on my skin is nothing short of amazing. At first, it’s very amber and bold, but as time passes, it becomes soft, creamy, and almost floral on my skin. It’s incredibly sensual and intimate, a fragrance my partner loves as well 😏. At the same time, it’s cozy and comforting; it even helps me relax before bed. Sometimes, I spray it just to feel good and unwind. The evolution is truly incredible, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite fragrances.

A strong santal melted in delicate lactonic tones. At the opening a bit sharp and sauer (bergamot), then slightly bitter (cumin). Anyway, the musk consumes every note by degrees and remains dominant. Personally, I am fan of ambroxan-woody-lactonic perfumes, so Piano santal is stunning for me. Nonetheless, I can imagine, it could be nauseous for someones taste. This is definitely not universal scent. If you enjoy it, this cozy perfume dresses your skin in noble tones. And it is not fleeting melody, it lasts for long.

This smells nothing like Commodity Milk - which is way more sweet and gourmand in comparison. But this is lovely lactonic woody fragrance. Sometimes I need a break from my super sweet gourmands but still want a comforting fragrance - this fits the bill. I get zero pee lol... it's a little peppery feeling, my guess is that's the cumin coming through. Perfectly Unisex. Reminds me of CARNER BARCELONA Palo Santo somewhat - similar vibes but don't smell the same. This is lovely and definitely full bottle worthy.

After sampling VCA Santal Blank I looked into similar scents, landed on this one and decided to blind buy it based on the notes alone (yay to every fragrance house which offers travel sized decants!). Luckily, I don’t get any sourness. Instead this turns heavenly creamy on me. It does develop better on clothing than on skin (and lasts way longer, too), but I’m very pleased with this scent: smooth, elegant and warm. Lasts well over a day on clothing and about 4ish hours on my skin.

Better late than never! I’m finally trying Piano Santal by L'Orchestre Parfum, and it’s a gorgeous surprise. It’s a creamy, slightly sweet sandalwood musk that makes the perfect year-round, "your-skin-but-better" daily driver. I’m utterly obsessed with this blend and need a bottle in my collection ASAP. It's a low sillage fragrance, but I absolutely love the intimate wear of Piano Santal. Five minutes later, I smell camphor. I went from obsession to repulsion.

How beautiful is this! Stunningly pure and uncomplicated. I mostly get sweet sandalwood, milk and musk. It’s so creamy and comforting, that I’m making it my go to Sunday perfume. I love that they’ve listed ‘skin’ as a note, as this definitely has that ‘your skin, but better’ vibe. To me this Fragrance is perfect for a polo neck jumper/dry autumn/winter/Sunday stroll kinda day. Sillage is medium, longevity on me is in the 8-9hour range.. quite impressive.

This is a beautifully executed creamy sandalwood perfume. Soft, fuzzy, cozy, and comforting. The scent equivalent of soft snuggly warm blanket. The amber-musk drydown is superb. The bergamot gives it the slightest lift and the cumin gives it the slightest bit of grit. Both notes are undetectable to my nose because the blending is excellent. A perfect sandalwood perfume on its own and also excellent for layering.

In the air, before the spray reaches my skin- it’s perfection. The moment it’s on my skin however it becomes dusty, bit medicine-like and bitter. Not terribly, but enough for me to be very-very disappointed. I want to feel the amazing creation that this perfume is in the first moment. In the deep drydown, after couple of hours, it looses most of the unpleasant qualities (to my nose at least).

To my nose this is gorgeous. Smooth creamy sandalwood that's bright. I don't get any hint of sourness. This is a dusty dry woody scent with dollops of cream proped up by the bergamot. Beautiful fragrance for anytime of year but I think it would especially shine in the heat and not get too stuffy in humid climates. Longevity is 8 hrs easy and projection is within arms length.

I agree with others that say this is a beautiful, creamy, milky sandalwood. I am sensitive to lactonic notes sometimes, but I do enjoy this one. I also like Commodity Milk. I don’t like Ellis Brooklyn-Vanilla Milk, for reference. I can see this not working for everyone, so I’d say test first if you can. For me it is the ultimate creamy sandalwood!

This is a love for me. It isn't even something I would normally gravitate to, but man is this comforting, cozy, and beautiful. I was on a santal kick after falling in love with Santal de Paris, and was looking for others that smell similar. This does not (to me) smell anything like SDP, but I am not mad at it at all. It's simply beautiful.

waouh i just sampled it and it's a total love at first sniff for me! i was afraid by the cumin note or the heavyness of the milkiness of it but it's absolutely beautiful , totally unisexe , soft, creamy ! i would not wear this during hot hot weather but for the spring season why not? full bottle worthy !

Calming, cuddly, and elegant. The opening has a rather heavy dose of ambroxan, but after 15 or so minutes, it all smoothes out and becomes a soft (fairly small - arms length) bubble of pure, cozy heaven. I don't know yet if I will get a full bottle. It feels like warm hug, but it's not my normal style.

Oh my lord. Loved it so much that I had to get a full bottle. The milk note in this tool me by surprise and it totally won me over. A friend of mine said that it smelled a bit like caramel, and I guess she meant dulce de leche. Not totally off. Creamy sandalwood. Comforting. Lovely. Nostalgic.

I don’t understand the Commodity comparison they just aren’t similar to me this is a very spicy but equally creamy sandalwood. Yah the cumin (or caraway) is THERE. But it works! Perfectly unisex! I really enjoy this! I have lots of milky sandalwood fragrances but this is unique!

Beautiful lactonic, mildly sweet perfume. Milky sandalwood. This is not a woody fragrance. It’s more of a sweet milky one. Not too sweet, balanced. I like it, it’s comforting, not too extravagant, not like Bacarat Rouge. So it’s ok for everyday use, even at work I’d say.

Beautiful, sexy, handsome, but not strictly masculine. Sex, skin, sweat....this one truly bewilders my mind. There are times when I experience creamy sensual skin, yet it also evokes memories of past lovers, or at least thoughts of them.

Piano Santal and Sandelwood Temple are my two favorites regarding sandal perfumes. I think Piano Santal is more unisex but they are the same kind of soft creamy sandal. I just love love love this gorgeous scent.

From like to love! After 2 years of owning this fragrance, I become addictive to the smell of the milky smooth sandalwood. A bit sweet, a bit medicinal in the beginning but boy I love the smell of Piano santal..

i really like this fragrance. it's my wearable, unoffensive, sandalwoody perfume. when I don't know what to wear and don't want to be too out there, this is what I go to. layers well.

I do think this is a beautiful fragrance. I wouldn’t have expected these particular notes to combine so well. My only complaint is that it doesn’t last very long on me.

Warm milk and creamy sandalwood. My favorite discovery in 2020! I wouldn’t call it sexy, but it certainly draws people in.

The first thing I would like to say is that Piano Santal is not a safe blind buy! The second thing I would like to say is that this perfume does not at all connect with how I would imagine something with such a musically connected name as Piano Santal to smell like... Unless it literally is the scent of an old dusty piano standing in the attic one is referring to...?🤔 But even that is a bit of a stretch as I get a whole different vibe from this... As far as sandalwood dominated fragrances go this is a bit different from many as it feels less woody and more hey/dried weed leaning. Also Piano Santal is a bit unusual in that it is not sweet at all. Which also means that the creamy ness that definitely is present is not creamy as in lactonic creamy but rather lactose intolerant and creamy void of any and even lactic sweetness whatsoever. Which makes it a very dry powder like lactic sensation which pairs well with the softness of cashmeran leather and the very detectable note of ambroxan. some have described it as a savoury biscuit scent. But I don’t really find it that foody or gourmand really. And it is not really salty either to create some savoury bread like feel... It is however something else... Then there is the cumin which is not dominant by any means but still detectable which together with the tart citrus from bergamot, which is more prominent in the beginning and more subdued in the dry down brings a bit of sourness to the composition which if you will even more distinguishes the void of any sweetness. Together this unsweet lactonic hey like soft cashmeran powdery sandalwood creamy ness together with the ambroxan, cumin and slight citrus background brings about an image that I cannot decide whether I love or loathe... As what it reminds me of is the slightly milky sour scent of baby puke on a cloth. A lot more that than baby powder anyway. But perhaps a bit soapy like a baby puke cloth that has been recently cleaned with a soapy detergent before it was puked on now yet again... if that makes sense... In a way that weirdly still makes this a somewhat comforting scent. But then again takes a whole different direction from any image of a piano or really anything musically connected for sure. And quite a bit away from any real sandal wood expectations either to be honest. I guess what I miss a bit in Piano Santal is a bit more woodyness and perhaps also just a hint of lactonic sweetness to veer away from the ever so discreet but still present sour notes of bergamot and cumin which brings the sandalwood towards the weed hay like direction and the lactonic ness to the baby puke land realm... It is a rather soft close to skin like scent that I think will cause no offens in any fragrance sensitive people in a work environment. It’s longevity is moderate at best and the dry down becomes rather faint after about three-four hours. As far as comparisons to other either lactonic or sandal wood leaning fragrances goes here are a few: -This is Her is more fresh and has a clear sweetness connected to the citrus in it. This is her is not a sandal wood scent in my opinion either. The resemblance would just be the lactonic notes which are a lot more sweet and light in This is Her. - Milk (the original one) is a lot sweeter. It is a lactonic sweet scent with not much woody or weed like notes at all. Feels therefore more synthetic also. But a completely different kind of perfume. - Santal Austral is a lot more Sandal wood dominant but shares the dry powdery ness of Piano Santal but with a bit more biscuit twang as it both has a savoury note and an ever so slight but helpful sweetness note without becoming too much of a gourmand. Superior in every way to Piano Santal if you ask me... - Santal Blond is a bit similar to Piano Santal but in my opinion a bit more well rounded. It removes the cumin and the citrus and ambroxan and brings instead a bit of Iris and a faint spicy sweetness to the table. An overall better choice too in my opinion. - Santal Complet is sandalwood made softly sweet and creamy, with a slight boozy twist. Much easier wear but crazy expensive in comparison. - Palo Santo - a lot more spicy and a bit sweet/savoury with an ever so slight licorice accord. - Santal 33. Last but not least. Santal 33 is similar but more. It adds iris and violet and a soft sweetness to the mix that apart from the uniting aspects of a rather dry sandal wood bordering on a similar hey aspect and the ambroxan still becomes a more well rounded unity. All in all I do like Piano Santal. But I do not love it. When I wear it though I sort of keep smelling my wrist as it does offer a very comforting vibe just like carrying a sweet warm baby on your shoulder with only a whiff coming on and off of the slightly damp cloth of baby puke that protects your clothing and neck from any little spit ups...👶. I wish the woodyness was a bit more present though rather than the hey like tone. And I sometimes wish one could add just a little hint of something sweet or sweet leaning spice to change my image... But then again other times I don’t as I kind of do like this dry powdery composition of total void of sweetness sometimes too. ❣️

Piano Santal is a scent that deserves the hype. It’s an unique juicy, strong and fairly priced. Packaging and bottle looks expensive. The fragrance is a bit of an unusual santal. It has a skin note listed which makes me feel a little iffy about it. On me it’s opening really spicy, with a lot of cumin. It settles to a more creamy, milky, soft woody scent after about half an hour. And then it stays like this for the rest of the day. I will say that in my opinion it feels very “perfumy”. Which is not a bad thing at all! I like Piano Santal more than other sandalwood focused fragrances but it doesn’t make me feel that I need a bottle in my collection. I wouldn’t reach for this over something that I already have in my collection. Sandalwood is simply not my thing! I think that the more I am sampling sandalwood centred scents, the more I realise that while I love sandalwood like a supporting note in fragrances, it is not a love for me if it’s the main focus of a scent. It’s not that it’s something wrong with these scents, they are gorgeous scents, it’s just a matter of personal taste. I definitely prefer this one over BDK Gris Charnel, another very popular and hyped sandalwood fragrance. I find it more feminine. Perfect for sweater weather.

Earlier this year, I was invited to experience L'Orchestre Parfum led by founder Pierre Guguen. The experience involved music, which is at the heart of the brand. Among the fragrances showcased, I was intrigued by Piano Santal. Compared to other numbers, which included Ambre Cello—the one that I own, Piano Santal is the softest; the "Adagio Sostenuto" number in the opus. I have always been sort of cautious when it comes to lactonic fragrances, but the milk note in Piano Santal didn't smell that sour on my skin (yes, it still had the sourness in it, but it wasn't strong enough to make me go "ugh!"). In general, it smelled really nice and comforting, thanks to the combination of musk, sandalwood, and ambroxan. I couldn't detect citrus and cumin, though. Some people compared Piano Santal to Vuitton's LVers, and I think I understand why. LVers dried down to a soft, creamy sandalwood layer, and Piano Santal went on a similar route. The difference lies in the opening. PS: When we experienced the fragrance, Guguen played a piano music by Édouard Ferlet. Later, I told him that when I thought of Piano Santal, I thought of Debussy's Clair de Lune, to which he responded positively.

Sweet, soft, synthetic sandalwood confected in a mainstream, milky mood. Think one of Satie's Gymnopedies tinkled out gently on a high-end digital keyboard, and you're about there. For me, just a little touch too cutie-sweetie and conventional to really spark the soul, but pleasant and relaxing all the same. Not for the first time, I struggle to detect the fierce spiciness or nasty pungency others here report picking up. Absolutely not worth the asking price (and I didn't hesitate to shell out for L'Artisan's Venenum or even Affinessence's outrageously extortionate Santal Basmati for this sort of milky-sandalwood, but they offer rice and tea and upscale twists which this one doesn't.) Save your pennies for culture and concerts and buy Yves Rocher's much underrated Voile d'Ocre instead if budget is a problem and you want to get into this sort of lactonic-woody space, is my advice.

I’ve really been looking forward to getting this in and I finally got it today. And I have to say it is.... (Drum roll) Eh. It’s alright. I was hoping for a thicker, heavier sandalwood fragrance, but this is light and airy. It is more powdery than creamy I’d say just because of how light it is. It does have a bit of a vanilla cream smell, but the fragrance as a whole is just so gentle and light. I don’t really pick up much woodiness or “pencil shavings” as some have said, just a light airy sandalwood with baby powder and vanilla cream, almost coconutty. I’m honestly just glad that I don’t get any of the “sour milk” smell that some have claimed to get. Overall, it’s a beautiful fragrance, just very light compared to what I was hoping for. Although it is unisex, I personally feel this is better suited for a woman. So I will probably be gifting this to my girlfriend.

This is the epitome of a creamy sandalwood scent well delivered. There is no astringency ...that I think the ppl who are referencing “pickles” re: sandalwood...pick up on. It is a simple upfront sandalwood with the musk and cashmeran and lactones backing up that soft and creamy feeling. I don’t pick up the bergamot much (not even in the very opening) and the cumin is very subtle. It gives this just a tad of underlying “funk”. The woody notes from the cedar and ambroxan ground everything and give this some serious staying power. I wore this to bed and woke up finding it still to be very present. It doesn’t have crazy throw but it’s definitely a noticeable perfume. I find this to be firmly unisex. This makes me want to explore more of this brand. I have had my eye on Mono Cachemire for a while. Looking forward to trying it!!

Skin brings out woodiness. It does have a sour high note I can't quite identify. Creamy, silky, powdery sandalwood. It's something richer, more oozy than typical milky skin scents; the cedar is such a bright addition, woody, makes the composition something new. I do get some baby powder; powdered milk maybe? There's something about this fragrance that doesn't quite hit all the way for me, as if there's some small component missing. It's so good, so on point, but it has a density that requires an element to lift or complicate it. It's slightly medicinal maybe, deeper, spicier on the skin than it appears on paper. At any rate, a lovely addition to a fall wardrobe.

This is probably the sandalwood fragrance out there that smells the least like sandalwood, while not necessarily implying that it smelling bad. It smells closer to a milk rice pudding, with a sweet milkiness, but also dusty rice like quality and a dusting of spice to it. It dries down to an generic 'perfumey' amberwood mix. There is also a clear baby powder aspect to it, which I assume is the listed 'skin' accord. Its not bad, definitely on the feminine side, I prefer the woodier coconut-y type of sandalwood compounds as opposed to the milk-powder smelling ones, so it's not for me but, but if milk rice pudding over amberwood sounds good, go for it.

Piano Santal is a dairy-laden sandalwood. If your tastes are torn between lactonic and woody accords in the fragrance spectrum, this is a safe blind buy. I actually caved in and blind purchased this, as I love Santal 33. I didn’t expect it to be a dupe by any means, as this is much more creamy in the dry-down than S33. Candles, perfumes, if it’s sandalwood I have it! Its initial projection is moderate. Longevity could be better, but concentrate on pulse points or wear during warmer weather to amp the projection. It did well on my forearms and wrists for at least 4 hours. I’m a huge fan of this house now!

Gorgeous soft sweet sandalwood opening that fast becomes a very quiet skin scent. Note here the double entendre of piano, the instrument but also meaning 'soft' in Italian. So the name is apt. There is something of that almond/hedione/plastic doll's head scent that is present in Hypnotic Poison by Dior, although I see no almond note listed. There is also a slightly skanky animalic musk undercurrent (perhaps it’s the cumin) that adds a bit of grit but I don't dislike it. Very pleasant but with lacking performance and I wish the sandalwood blast of the opening lasted for longer. 7/10.

I really, really like the way this smells. I am getting a creamy slightly floral green peppercorn accord. This is really nice. Off the jump projection is not quite where I like it to be but the fragrance tickles my olfactory senses just right. I am coming to hate musk, not here this is very nice. At the end of the day to gen xers and older this is a woman’s fragrance. Too bad my wife is not into fragrances I would really like to smell this on her. I take back everything I said about projection. Turns out this stuff is radio active 🤣

I tried a sample of this. At first I was a bit put off because I was used to the smell of Santal 33, this is nothing like it. However it grew on me after a few times. The lactonic and somewhat medicinal smell is prominent in the first 30-60 minutes. You can smell the cedar, cashmeran, the sandalwood is meshed with the milk. Then it is very warm with the musk at the dry down. It's quite a comforting scent. I think it is worth trying, some people would love this. If they have a smaller bottle other than 100ml I would buy it.

Wow! The first word that comes to mind is "sexy". Not in a steamy, lusty way, but in slightly erotic, seductive, playing game way. So, so creamy. It is so incredibly well blended. Lactonic notes work beautifully with my very cold skin. I wouldn't call the scent "powerful" or "strong", and I don't think it overly projecting, but when I'm wearing it, people do comment "something smells good here. It's like it's making the air around you sweeter and a bit creamy, just a tiny bit. Beautiful, unique fragrance.
