Somewhere but Nowhere

Somewhere But Nowhere turns out to be a misnomer for this fragrance - it does take you places! Unlike other modern fragrances, although it's got a clean feel, it's multidimensional. It opens up robust, woody, and warm. It keeps some of that warmth but it's like a beautiful piece of wood with Kintsugi gold fill throughout. As it moves and turns, the warmth and depth of the wood grounds, while the gold veins run along it, glimmering in the light. I smell an aromatic sandalwood with citrus, and modern woody musks, but not the overwhelming headache inducing kind. This is a really special perfume. I was provided a sample of this perfume.

smells a little bit Santal 33-ish in the opening, but within seconds the tea blooms and it smells like a freshly brewed cup of Ceylon. it actually is very nice, if a little close to the skin. the vanilla is very subdued, but it is indeed very creamy. I do prefer this to gris charnel and santal 33. no pickles here. it's like drinking a fresh cup of Ceylon with a bit of cream and a dash of honey on a leather couch on an overcast afternoon, shelves full of books lining the walls. 10/10

I thought this would be my least favorite of their discovery set, but it was actually my favorite; I usually hate woody scents so I have no idea what they did to make me like it. If you don't normally like woody notes but want to try something new, I think you'll really like it!

I actually find myself wearing this to bed a lot. I find it super warm and comforting, especially after a hard day. I'll probably be wearing this daily when fall comes again.

Yummy sandalwood scent nothing I haven’t smelled before but I still love it the same!! would definitely buy this in a larger size!!

You stand in the middle of a decaying meadow just at the beginning of autumn. The sun is just above your head, giving the illusion that it should be warmer than it currently is. You can’t remember how you got here, who you should be, or truly anything about reality or time itself. You are stuck in an incurable present with only a lukewarm tea you heated over a underwhelming fire. Its almost like the whole way you made the tea feels analogous to your current situation. You try to find meaning, warmth to your life by leaving all civilization to the middle of nowhere, only to realize even this isolation cannot fix your issues. The fire will never be hot enough to bring you any proper purpose. You leave this wallowing mental state and drag your leather knee high boots back up, reheat your tea one more time and keep going on your way that you don’t even know the point of. Perhaps the true meaningful introspection is in movement, not in an idealistic and false stillness. PS: I don’t know why but this scent reminds me a bit of jazz club replica

At first this reminded me of Liam by Lattafa which was just way too masculine for me. But I bought the discovery kit so I could test out the scents at home when I'm not in Sephora smelling a million other things. This is basically what I wanted Liam to smell like. I find this to be perfectly unisex. I get the black tea, I get the vanilla, cardamom and cedar and I also get the leather which I surprisingly don't hate! I generally don't like leathery perfume. It's more of a "worn in leather" and not a "brand new handbag" type of leather. I guess that's why it works for me here. I ended up getting a travel size after I decided that I do really enjoy this. Might need to upgrade to a full bottle.

Reminds me of sitting in of my aunt's ex-boyfriend car in like summer of 2014, a black lincoln with tan leather seats that kind of burned my legs but I didn't mind because his car smelled good and he played Flo-rida. This is not a summer fragrance, spicy woody, the black tea didn't show up initially for me but its there. Smells exactly like this Crabtree & Evelyn body wash I tried once in a hotel room in Turkey, in the vein of Santal 33 and Santal & Vetiver from Salt & Stone which is still a scent profile I love even with how trite it is lol.

i sprayed this on at sephora. it was kind of off smelling at first, but i love the dry down. it developed into a sweet, warm and rustic wood as it projected into the air. although it stayed smelling sour on my clothes, it radiated a really nice scent bubble around me and the cedarwood projected really well. but something about this one is entrancing and even addicting. smelling it up close: sour. but from afar: really nice and woodsy. overall i'd rate this a 7/10.

This does the warm/woody thing pretty well and the price isn't terrible. I really get the leather on the back end which is nice. It's a little cloying/chemically around the edges which I don't love- I'm sure there is a better version of this out there. I hate the full size bottle shape, but I think the travel size looks really nice which is good bc it's all I could afford lol. The horse on the box got me. I'll be keeping this in rotation.

I like her. The me in my mid to late twenties in LA is Her when she goes out (follow?). Smelling like this, weed, car interior - bar interiors, cigarettes, parking lot flirts. Incisive wit and sharp slinky smile, taking drags on the curb with you in the dark - this time maybe in Joshua Tree. Autumn in southern california.

Oh Somewhere But Nowhere you are more than just a Santal 33 dupe TO ME... though they've got the same core dna, I feel Santal 33 leans noticeably more into the powderiness than this. Idk. Maybe I'm stupid. Whatever. I like it.

Like a sexy, real, cowgirl in an old bar. An old leather jacket, and smoke, but in a feminine spicy way. Smells like she's been outside out day and then stood next to a bonfire for a while, but not in a stinky way.

This is my favorite one of the bunch. Skin scent. Slightly soapy. Cardamom is always good on me. My body’s warmth eats this up.

This is giving 100% Jungle Santal by Target!!! I have both, and I'm shocked how much they are the same

Prepare to get slapped in the face by straight cardamom. I really didn’t want to believe other reviewers when they said it’s super masculine but it is!!! I see how it relates to santal 33, but smelling them side to side, santal is so so so much more realistic leather smelling where as this is so much more spicy and herby. Unfortunately going to have to pass on this.

I was hoping for more out of this particular fragrance. Really thought I would love this based on the notes, but it's just ok. Not my favorite. "Lovely and a Little Twisted" is my standout of the 4, with "Sublimity" at a close second. Really like both of those a lot more. Disfruta is very citrus and leans masculine. Not my thing at all.

i unfortunately had to return this one. despite the incredible smell, it gave me such a huge headache that i had to let it go. warm, woody, and a bit masculine while feeling really wearable, i was super attracted to it at first smell. it's so inexpensive so i almost kept it just for the bottle but couldn't justify it.

goes weirdly sour on me? like if you’ve ever smelled a bag of mulch that’s been sitting wet for too long and gone sour. sprayed on paper it reminds me a lot more of Santal 33 (which doesn’t go sour on me) 🤷 not my thing but at least the sample was free

I feel like I haven't been able to give this one a fair shot as I live in AZ where the weather is still very hot, but I am excited to try this out more when it cools down. This is a heavenly woody scent.

wish it lasted longer and settled in better. It is super strong and then kind of just wears off within a few hours. no lingering

i wish i liked this but for me it smells just like a cologne my dad would wear, definitely leaning more towards masculine.

This is nothing special, and in fact, I'd go so far as to say it's a waste of money. I think there was an attempt here to throw a popular note right now (black tea) into a stereotypical men's cologne, but the final product doesn't work. This is trying to appeal to too many things at once. It's trying to be Le Labo, indie fragrances with unique and unusual notes, and simultaneously be universally sellable for Sephora retail audiences. The one redeemable and creative note in this, the black tea note, is completely overpowered by the cardamom and leather notes. If this is the kind of scent you like, you'd be better off buying Old Spice body spray Axe. This is just plain old suffocating men's body spray/cologne in trendy packaging.

Straight up dill pickles... no cardamom no vanilla no sweetness whatsoever. No depth. Just an oppressive briny sour sharp wood shavings, between all the santal 33-esque fragrances this has to be the worst offender. You can feel this in the back of your throat, I was coughing the whole time wearing this trying to get rid of that spiky feeling out of my sinuses. Absolutely awful with no redeeming qualities. I don't know what kind of grift this brand is but it definitely won't be around for long. Jail to everyone involved. The reviews seem to be botted to hell too, when reviews are trying to sell a certain aesthetic or character for a scent rather than actually describing the smell that is a red flag. At least I hope so... I still want to believe we as a society are not this under spells but the concept of these reviews being genuine is worrying me. Maybe brands like this just attract the lobotomized and anti-fragrance hyper consumerist crowd? Idk... maybe it's my fault for having high expectations, I just thought the bottles looked cool and didn't pay attention to the "reminds me of" section before buying my sample pack... had I known this was just another mass market dupe mess I wouldn't have bothered. Yikes.

Let me start out by saying this brand screams money grab. The visual references from other brands is super obvious and gross. Now that we have that out of the way, this scent smells like a synthetic woody Le Labo dupe. Except they don't realize that nobody wants to smell like that anymore.

I dont get the vanilla or chai aspect but i love this, i love leathery spicy androgynous scents so its perfect for me or for those who love those scents, take santal 33 and make it less screechy and a leather warm note and its something similar. defiantly comforting and a cool girl fragrance. also the packaging and the price tag is pretty good. overall excited to see what this brand puts out because the art on the packaging and scent profiles is unique especially for it to be sold in sephora.

i usually dislike very masculine scents but i really like this one. i feel what makes it more feminine/wearable is that its a little more musky and sits a little closer to the skin than typical men’s colognes. if you enjoy santal 33 youll most likely enjoy this one. it smells like santal’s more affordable dupes lol. which are more sour and transparent and missing that creaminess and thickness? lol. might buy if its not too expensive havent looked at the price yet lol

Was given a sample of this and the notes looked promising but on me this pulls barbershop aftershave EDT+a little bit of natural bug spray+a touch of peppermint.. not getting creamy at all. Cedar, cardamom, and some leather sure, generic 'freshness,' but nothing to sweeten it either. Disappointing and not for me unfortunately.

I love this actually. Yes it's a bit on the Le Labo side but there is something a bit more accessible with this scent. It's softer and more casual which on somedays that's all you really want. Sometimes you don't want to scream NICHE! this is how I feel with Le Labo at times. Everything has it purpose and time.

This is such a nice and clean woody scent. Perfectly unisex. This is what I wanted Santal 33 to be.

Just from the tester I'm getting heavy Santal 33/pickle vibes, so it's an immediate no from me.

Sister scents with Glosser Doux. Not unique in any way. A little sharp on the nose.

Its nice, same family as Santal 33, but this has a dry leather smell to it
