Gothic II Perfume Oil

Gothic II Perfume Oil-By Loree Rodkin- One of High Roller's favorite scents of all time is Nag Champa, and here, in this bottle, paired along with another one of my favorite notes, is the majestic, Patchouli. Gothic II is a Renaissance Fair in a bottle. Why you might ask? Nag Champa is in the forefront of this fragrance and Nag Champa reminds me of Renaissance Fairs because it's incense is burned so prolifically at these wonderfully fragrant Fairs. I love Renaissance Fairs and am a long time participant of them. Nag Champa is a rare note in fragrances, however, it does show up in the form of Frangipani, but it tends to not have that distinctive aroma of the incense variant mostly due to the fact, the incense variant contains Halmaddi. Halmaddi is a resin from the Ailanthus Malabarica Tree that grows in India, this together with Champa (Frangipani) creates that distinctive aroma, beloved by Hippies all over the world (Me included). Patchouli and Incense notes magnify the Nag Champa note to a heady intoxication, igniting psychic visions and transcending dreams. When used in meditation, it excites and activates the third eye and opens doors to pathways leading to the expansive dimensions within the mind. Gothic II is warm and enveloping, a perfect fragrance for Autumn and Winter. Vanilla is almost non existent as far as the aroma of vanilla goes, where I believe it is just adding an overall creamy note to the package rather than an aroma. It blends in so well that it's invisible. Clove is also unnoticeable and only appears here with vanilla like a shadow and outline, but finally appears as the fragrance ages into it's final hour of life when all the other notes have passed away, Clove and Vanilla linger faintly as a reminder of the Renaissance Fair that just came and went. Gothic II Perfume Oil has an enormous sillage in the beginning but fading down within an hour and a half to a moderate sillage. The fragrance lasts about 3 to 4 hours before you need to reapply. High Roller loves Gothic II Perfume Oil. I am greatly pleased with this gorgeous fragrance. Thank you Loree Rodkin for blending Nag Champa so well. Gothic II Perfume Oil gets 5 out of 5 purring Meows, complete with front paws pressing all your soft spots.

Update: I did receive my oil, and it is similar to Gothic I, but this is better, mostly for the added fragipani floral. Gothic I has been in my top 5 for Fall and Winter. So I'm trying a sample of Gothic 2 oil. It's more gender neutral than Gothic I which is very dry, patch, vanilla and spice. Here I pick up the same Patchouli and spice as in Gothic I, close anyway. But I am enjoying the Frangipani floral note here. They don't list it here for the oil, only the edp; But it does come through. It is a nice tropical floral, that is similar to jasmine, and has a peachy fruity tone. Fragrantica lists "champa" as a note, which is a frangipani flower and sandalwood incense. So it is very gender neutral I would say. It still is heavy with Patchouli and vanilla, spice. But the floral aspect makes it bright, and more pleasant. I wrote a review for Gothic 2 edp, saying it's quite a bit more floral than the oil here. The edp was a tad too feminine for me, but the oil is just right. I will be getting the oil roll on next month in December, for my one new Winter frag. My collection is too large, and I only add rarely now, but this is great! Rating: 9.5/10 God bless. John 3:16

I’ve been searching for a long time for a fragrance that smells like my favourite incense: Satya Super hit. This is the closest I’ve come. Nag champa, spices, toasty marshmallow-vanilla, and of course, smoke. So delicious. Gothic in a warm witchy Wiccan way. I would also love to know whether the eau de parfum smells exactly like this or are the notes actually different? 7ml of oil for $110usd is hard to justify when the 50ml parfum is $140. But it’s so perfect I might have to cop it...

I don’t know if it’s too early to say but even though it’s summer it’s a rainy dreary day and I put this on to test. Holy hell, it’s so beautiful. I love nag champa and this brings me back to burning incense in my room as a teen and sneaking off to smoke clove cigarettes and covering it up with cheap vanilla body spray. For fall this will be delicious- especially to wear to some late night festivities.

@hanikkuma I own both and the Edp does not have near as much of the Nag Champa vibe for me. I actually prefer the oil so much I'm considering selling my EDP. I recommend testing before choosing because they are definitely different enough to notice.
