Carbonara

if you feel ready to purchase from pazzaglia, there are a few things that you need to know: first, he makes his perfumes, every last batch himself and sometimes he does not produce fragrance if he thinks he will have trouble sourcing the exact same materials that could hurt his brand image and consistency. second, he's an actual culinary artist, or chef if you will, who specializes in italian culinary culture. and his restaurant is famous for, what you know, pasta alla carbonara. which inspires this fragrance in bits. it is powerful, black pepper, white rum and coconut cream attack. after my third or fourth wearing, I felt like this fragrance was just like a missing member of my body, I felt complete with this one. masculine, subtly lactonic, smoky, boozy without alarming your loved ones about a possible alcohol abuse situation in your life. note to sissy sprayer community: you can do your thing with this one, I won't shame you now, since this is a really strong and SWEET scent. performance is very good, although not as long lasting as van py rhum. 10 hours of on skin longevity with 5-6 hours of medium to loud projection. obviously lasts forever on clothes (extrait de parfum). I will always have a bottle of Carbonara as long as Lorenzo lets us have it. EDIT: by the way, i'm shocked this fragrance gets hate because it does not smell like an actual carbonara. lol bro if it smelled like the real thing, why would one even want to smell like guanciale and raw eggs??? try to appreciate the art behind it. god, people do not realise how stupid they sound in these comments.

Carbonara... what a strange name, that actually makes sense with the construction of the fragrance: Peppery, creamy, smoky. I'm glad that I don't pick up neither eggs nor guanciale, although it transports me to eggnog-like times (let me explain below). Boozy eggnog is sweet, creamy, boozy of course and to be served hot, in my opinion. The booziness/spiciness and particularly the warm vanilla present through the life of the fragrance have the ingredients for a complex eggnog, hence why Carbonara (with eggs) makes sense for me. Not particularly, but I think eggnog was a MUCH worse name to put on this, and it has somewhat of a sweet carbonara construction. Beautifully spiced - I do get something like cardamom, but a fruity layer of it, which could very well be a smoked coconut (similar to what I pick up in FYF X by Nishane, but not at all as pungent). This can be worn during the day, and to me it's a three season fragrance, as I would only avoid it as much during summer. Anyways, I LOVE this fragrance and it does belong in my top 5. Performance is great, and thankfully lasts longer than it projects, while still projecting moderately for the whole life of the fragrance. This is the sweet spot for me ~9h on skin with ever-present "smellability". Price is right on the dot, paid right around $150 and was money well spent. Try first, but it's not super unsafe for blind buying either.

Before approaching the fantastic world of Lorenzo Pazzaglia's fragrances, I was very curious and even a little "scared" by the name Carbonara, given to a perfume. I wondered, but how is it possible to give such a name to a fragrance? Not in negative terms, God forbid, mine was just a great curiosity. So much so that I had to take the sample kits of this new brand, I was also lucky enough to virtually know Lorenzo, a great person who I respect very much. Without going too far, Carbonara is a perfume dedicated to the main dish of Lorenzo's restaurant, well yes he is first of all a chef and then Naso creator of these perfumes, a curious combination that led him to create this fragrance, a very particular perfume , sweet, as already described in an impeccable way by Hammervain, recreating the peppery note, the creamy note, and the smoky note that make up the well-known dish, combining amber, vanilla, pepper, smoke and oud. Having said that, it is simply a perfume to be discovered, to be studied, on the skin it has a thousand evolutions, with these accords that follow one another until they become a hot skinscent, many hours after vaporization. In fact, these fragrances have a very high concentration of essential oils which make them very durable fragrances on the skin as well as very "skiy". Curious and interesting fragrance, definitely worth trying!

In my opinion there is a thin red thread between perfumes and food... yes, the famous Japanese red thread which according to tradition unites two people predestined to be together... well let's think about it, a perfume gives us emotions, evokes memories, we taste it, just like food. Carbonara is a perfume that perfectly represents this combination, and which recalls the creaminess of the delicious and well-known dish of the same name. It opens with pepper and is slightly balsamic and then rounds out and becomes a tasty cream. I consider it more wearable in a temperate climate, it has excellent performance. Here Lorenzo Pazzaglia put his all.

Very spicy and slightly lactonic vanilla. The pepper is very pronounced, especially at the start. As a vanilla perfume, it is very original and different from others that I have been able to try. It is a unique perfume, without ceasing to be a vanilla perfume. Of course, although the longevity is good, lasting on my skin for about 7-8 hours, the projection is quite soft from the beginning, making it a perfume for personal enjoyment or short distances. Ideal to surprise your next date with a sexy and intoxicating aroma. If I didn't already have several vanillas in my collection it would be a safe purchase.

Opening is sweet with fruity and vanilla notes accompanied by some boozy notes of rum and aromatic fresh notes Giving the frangrance a very interesting and unique profile consisting of sweet fruity, boozy and fresh clean notes Drying is taking it into a less fruity and more ambery direction, fragrance remains sweet and still aromatic clean Having a slightly burnt sugar qualities

I think it's the best Pazzaglia's perfume. Well blended. Its warm, spicy, little bit vanilla scent and less rum I smell. Pleasant, not ordinary perfume. Better for spring, fall evening. Longevity and sillage are moderate. 6-8 hours on skin. All perfumes of this designer are underrated. Recommend to taste all, and mandatory test it on your skin, before buy full bottle.

A wonderful and peppery burst on top but that doesn’t last (unfortunately). The vanilla and warmth follow in closely with amber and a slight woodsy-ness. It’s beautiful and not bomb-like but on my skin, most sadly, it leans very masculine and that’s just not my vibe. A beautiful and unique creation from Lorenzo Pazzaglia that is most definitely worth a shot 🖤✨🤍✨🖤

This one is very interesting. It has the component of carbonara but the scent is in the tone of fragrance. Really enjoy using it. The opening scent is pepper, pepper, and pepper. While the dry down is a very luxurious scent with pepper appearing from time to time. Great work!

If you get over the smell in the opening that is only the black pepper and you can resist the temptation to wash your skin - after 15 min it because something that is absolutelly gourgeous ! Clearly this is a MASTERPIECE !

Peppery sweet liquor, with a little bit of greenery poking through. It's not overwhelming at all, as it's blended very well. I kind of love it.

First time experiencing Lorenzo Pazzaglia’s brand and I understand the hype around his creations. I think it’s justified! I wanted to try first of all Carbonara because of the name. I love the Italian carbonara dish so such a name for a fragrance really intrigued me. A was curious how Lorenzo would translate a traditional dish into a scent. I can’t say that I had anything specific in mind when I went to try Carbonara, no expectations, just pure curiosity. And it is not bad at all! Carbonara opens very, very peppery on me that it nearly made me sneeze. In order to love this scent, you need to love a multi faceted, strong, spicy scent! It’s no joke. But after 30 minutes transforms into a complete and complex smelling aromatic vanilla, just slightly spicy. I love it then. It’s a rich, creamy vanilla, with intense flavoured rum, warm amber and resinous elemi. Add to all these a moderate to heavy green touch from davana. I think adding davana into this composition was a genius idea. I don’t think I personally detect any coconut, sandalwood and smoke in Carbonara. The sugar note in the base notes balances out the green aspects. It never gets a true sweet fragrance on me...Or a true gourmand. I look forward to trying more of his stuff after this successful first encounter with his creation! Unisex in my experience! Don’t think it’s too masculine for ladies to wear.

این عطر وانیلی،بر خلاف اون چند تا عطر وانیلی دیگه این برند،بیشتر به دل‌ام نشست. یک وانیل خوشمزه که من رو یاد عطر وات اِبات پاپ از هاوس آو عود انداخت و اون حس بو داده و پف فیلی رو بهم می‌داد فلفل برخلاف پررنگ بودن در صفحه‌ی نُت ها،خیلی در صحنه پررنگ نیست و کاملا کنترل شده است و بیشترِ نمایش‌اش در شروع عطره شیرینی عطر دل رو نمی‌زنه اما با یک شیب بسیار ملایم این شیرینی افزایش پیدا می‌کنه که همراه با کم شدن ادویه هاست نکته‌ی جالب این عطر یک فضای سبز و خُنک شبیه نعنا یا منتول هست که وسط شیرینی وانیل حس میشه و بینی رو خنک می‌کنه که به نظرم ناشی از نت داوانا هست نتونستم ارتباط‌ ای بین غذای ایتالیایی کربونارا و این عطر پیدا کنم اما امیدوارم یه روزی تو یه رستوران محلی ایتالیا این غذا رو کنار این عطر تست کنم تا دقیق :) متوجه شباهت و تفاوت هاشون بشم من این جنس وانیل رو دوست دارم ولی همچنان این عطر گزینه‌ی خرید من نیست ************** scent:8/10 longevity:9/10 sillage:8/10 purchase value:2/10 ******** overall:6.7/10

To the person describing this as a copy of Arso; you must be high on a really addictive drug. Carbonara is a difficult perfume to describe. Obviously, it doesn’t smell like the pasta ... but ... the name suggests it so it’s playing tricks on your brain when you smell it. It’s really interesting and brings back memories for sure. To me it smells like an old newspaper shop where I remember smelling sugar candy’s in the air mixed with the paper smell. There is something airy about it. Really nice, need to spend more time with it to understand if it’s a full bottle worthy.

I guess the name is a marketing tactic - because the constituent ingredients in Carbonara (noodle, egg, bacon) are not represented in this white peppery, sweet-vanillic, semi-gourmand. Do you use cream in carbonara? Because I think there is some sweet-cream, coconut and wood in the base. I don't want to think too hard. Liquor, white florals and resins play support. I will assume they did not choose the name because the price point is just too good to pass on. Quality of the ingredients is stand-out.

I get bold pepper and coconut in the opening with a boozy and herbaceous rum heart, and a vanilla dry down. It has this slightly smoky, woody, and resinous quality to it that keeps things interesting. The pepper ties the whole fragrance together but becomes less prominent as it dries down. The performance is moderate and it leaves a nice scent trail for the first hour or so. For me this is a great autumn/winter fragrance for evenings out (or cosy evenings in) but it's probably not blind buy safe.

It's a very interesting vanilla fragrance. I still do not like vanilla as a note, so this is a no for me. Although, it is well-blended, and stands out among a myriad of vanilla scents for sure. I am also a hater of coconut but it does not bother me here, which speaks to the quality of this scent. As far as other Lorenzo Pazzaglia scents go, I disagree that this is the best one, I prefer Cherry Ink.

A conceptual fragrance with an interesting take on gourmand: a main course of pepper, sweet vanilla, booze and unidentifiable spices. I wish tomato leaf made an appearance, and I expected it from the perfume name. It’s also strange with a distinct plastic note but I still like it, just not with my chemistry. As with many fragrances from Lorenzo Pazzaglia, Carbonara leans masculine.

I had big hopes for this fragrance. Unfortunately it's quite chemical and smells a bit like at the dentist. In my opinion it lacks spices and pepper (and i hoped before buying it will not be too spicy) and it is just about a weird vanilla. Performances are really great.

Ho acquistato il discovery kit da 22 con grande entusiasmo condizionato dalle varie recensioni in rete. Si parla di prufumi strepitosi e dalla durevolezza e scia notevoli derivanti dal fatto che - a dire dei recensori - contengono olii prossimi al 40%. Ebbene, ad oggi, ho provato, unitamente alla mia compagna: Evil and Angel, Carbonara, Narcotix Citrus, Cherry Inck e Extreme Passion e devo dire, con grande dispiacere e delusione che sono profumi dalla durata e scia molto insoddisfacente. Su entrambi si sono percepiti per circa un oretta, ma proprio volendo esagerare. Ad ogni modo mi riservo di recensire gli altri campioncini appena li utilizzerò. Anche lo stesso profumo di per se buono ma credetemi nulla di eccezionale/originale.

I was expecting something unique, it just smells like a mundane Oud cologne. The black pepper should be the best part of this composition, if it weren't for the super cheap smelling Jasmine which smells like aerosol deodorant.

I’ve been really enjoying the discovery set from LP but this one was quite the challenge. I’m surprised no one mentioned the prominent silly putty/plastic/doll head that permeates throughout this composition. For preference context, any sort of plastic vibe is my perfume kryptonite. There’s also a distinct plastic pasta aroma that is downright unbearable. It took several hours before this scent became tolerable. On to the next one.

If you expect this to smell like actual carbonara you‘ll be disappointed. Loved the idea of a carbonara scent. Hate the outcome. It’s just a nuclear dose of pepper.

Abundant, enveloping, lactonic, but fresh sandalwood gives impression of savory cream with ...candied chestnuts. It’s peppery, drizzled in golden syrup, with a smoky dry ambery heart, and coconuty rum topping. Vanilla and elemi dance together for a bit of resinous touch. This and Dream Sea are the softest offerings from this house. If you enjoy more subtle presence of woody scebts like fresh sandalwood (TT Cas, Caput Mundi , Etro Sandalo, MoV Sandalo Australia), here you have them just to add lightness to the buttery ambers I mentioned above (similar to THOO Just Before, Seta by Moresque, ELDO Frustration etc ... but better). Carbonara is the more creamy and peppery (dense) complex alternative. No synthetic musk and ozonic notes. Just rich and opulent. I happen to love this genre in the fall and winter, so ... no wonder I found this to be a very good choice for me. It is perfectly suitable on a man too. The more I use it, the better I like it. It’s amazing! Don’t blindbuy, unless you can relate to my references the same way.

I really feel like this should be called cacio e pepe instead of carbonara- It's pure pepper and creaminess (no egg or guanciale involved!). The opening is such a beautiful warm pepper, which is exactly what I was looking for. A few days earlier I was in Le Labo and after smelling Poivre 23, realized it was a note I needed in my collection. I spent a stupid amount of money on samples there, but I'm happy to say that Carbonara is actually much better and more complex than Poivre, which seems to turn into a flatter version of Diptyque eau de Duelle on my skin. Most perfumes that can turn powdery WILL turn powdery on me, but this one doesn't. It does calm down to a sweeter vanilla but with enough booze to keep it deep, dark and warm, and I still notice that spark of pepper in my hair hours after spraying, without it being overpowering or obnoxious. Everyone is calling this a vanilla scent, but it's the pepper scent of my dreams.

AI has to ground itself and not take all the comments seriously, I mean come on guys, this perfume is "perfect for those who prefer feminine scents", this thing is nuclear synthetic coconut in the beginning, a bit rubbery-coconut if I may call it like that. But let's not judge a book by its cover - in the drydown, coconut is slowly coming from a main-tone to an under-tone note, leaving the floor to the lovely Black Pepper note and the rum accord which to me sounds very masculine. The Davana makes it a bit more grassy/wet in the background, I speak from memories now but I still can confirm that this one impressed me in some way... It's not your usual juice, definitely for colder weather and again, spray with caution as it is a beast. I would not call it niche/highest quality ingredients as it is definitely quite synthetic at the beginning, but dry-down is one of the loveliest around. Stay safe!

I'm not sure how to present this, I just ordered a discovery kit from Italy, arrived well... I get loads of coconut and Rhum with spices in the background (black pepper mainly) - it's somewhat creamy, somehow spicy&smoky and very strong - simply cannot sniff anything else after this monster, like my nose is on a strike. Will be back with updates; Edit 1: just went outside - 15 degrees celsius and high humidity - the Rhum note gets stronger and stronger and it's one of the sexiest boozy perfumes ever smelled. Now simply waiting to confirm the longevity. Edit 2: 3 days after the initial test it’s still lingering on a jacket that I’ve worn back then. I can detect the black pepper as a heart note - and boy this is so nice... it lasts a lot and for me even more than 6h after the initial spray it hasn’t dried down to base - those heart notes are still pumping. Great one!

Carbonara, the fragrance is a really interesting take on Carbonara, the unctuous peppery, pasta dish, wherein he expresses those savory elements through a gourmand experience: there’s a plush, creamy amber vanilla, an earthy, faintly smoky brown sugar, coconut milky with a gentle salinity, and a trio of peppers that prickle enigmatically. It’s wrapped up with a woody, boozy velvety aspect that I can’t associate with the dish at all, but it provides a rich, aromatic *something* which reigns a fragrance that might also be at home on a dessert cart. I want to try all of this perfumers offerings and I might eat them, too.

Aromatic vanilla. Complex and interesting with a very exotic and nice dry down. Extremely hard to describe. It doesn’t smell like food. I imagine being in an expensive private boutique hotel with a nice lounge and a gilded bar. Empty. There’s a huge fireplace a blaze even though its not cold outside. The fire doesn’t project any warmth at all, just ambiance. There is a lot of giant green plants and marble that was freshly cleansed and polished. It’s very nice and smells “important” if that makes any sense. 😆 I literally can’t describe it, but it’s good!

“Would you like anything with your gigantic dose of pepper, sir? No .. in which case, have some more black pepper!” In all seriousness there’s some vanilla coming through after a while, but this gives the pepper in Interlude Man a run for its money, just too much and over bearing pepper from first spray to last few moments of skin scent

a straightforward boozy coconut-pepper-vanilla, its pleasant but im not sure for how long one can bear wearing it without getting tired. its extremely linear, persistent and synthetic. I guess if sprayed only once it would be okay, but who even does one spray right? I think blackpepper from cdg is a much better option for pepper lovers

Truly smells like pasta! Has a peppery doughy like quality. I’d like this on a guy. It’s like a masculine foodie scent. Not sure about women pulling it off.. but if you like it go for it! It’s really unique and now I’m hungry! Nice job Lorenzo! 😁

10/10 masterpiece!! What a terrific blend of all those different notes!! Wearing it at 28 degrees in London - it’s just perfect even on a hit day so sexy and provoking!! Sweet but aromatic! Also Woody and somewhat lactonic - so many layers!

Idk why but this reminds me exactly of walking into an Italian grocery. Spices. Pepper. Pasta. Coffee. Just all in one. Love the smell and it takes me back to my childhood, but I don’t want to smell like that. 5/10.

At first it's peppery. Then after a while you can really smell the resin with hints of vanilla in the background. Then after you let it sit for a few minutes the resin and sweet vanilla blend together.

I don’t know why but this perfume smells very similar to my baby Empress of Fashion from Diana Vreeland. This perfume is balanced , velvety and delicious, like a gourmet dessert.
