Fôm by Lorenzo Pazzaglia is one of the few fragrances in his collection that ventures into darker territory; alongside Incenso Notturno, it stands apart from his usual bright, sweet, uplifting style. It opens with a boozy sweetness—warm and inviting—that feels like familiar Pazzaglia territory. But not long after, birch tar arrives, unmistakable and commanding, dragging the fragrance into smoky, charred, almost metallic depths. It’s here that Fôm starts to remind me of Beaufort Parfums, especially Vi et Armis. Imagine that same inky, smoky chaos but toned down, smoother, sweeter, and more restrained—Fôm feels like its polished cousin. As it evolves, the scent settles into a smoky, woody leather, still carrying whispers of caramel from the opening. The balance of darkness with just enough sweetness keeps it from becoming overwhelming. Boozy, smoky, woody, leathery—those four words capture its core. Fôm is complex and a little tricky; it doesn’t hand itself over at first sniff. Give it time and multiple wears and it reveals its layers and restraint. A particularly unexpected fragrance. Created exclusively for the Profumix perfumery of Modena, from the desire of the owner Teo to have a smoky fragrance that does not give a "smoky" effect. Lorenzo's wise use of raw materials once again shows his ability and mastery. Complex notes such as birch tar, oud perfectly framed with notes of birch, leather, myrrh, oak moss, give this perfume a very long smoky opening. After a few hours, the alcoholic and sweet notes are able to open, becoming a completely different perfume or, on my skin, in the drydown, surprising alcoholic notes of rum and wisky and a delicious sweet caramel come out. I was amazed to hear a fragrance evolve from smoky and complex into a sweet and alcoholic fragrance. Not bad !

For me - smoky wood poured with ink and rum. Good for cold weather

Ok. I just put this on a scent strip and I did not look at the name. I have 8 fragrance samples from Pazzaglia. I 1000% agree with Dentish's review down below!!! Holy cow! Immediately I smelled the alcohol rum and it must be the animalic note that is mixed in this that smells like the vomit smell that he's talking about! I smelled it immediately. Just so happen to look at thd sample name and came on to these reviews and lo and behold, he nailed it! 1 millionth correct. There is an alcohol vomit smell to this and I swear to God I smelled it immediately and thought okay maybe it's just the opening it'll go away. Whatever is causing that vomit smell is in the notes somewhere. Unfortunately this one is probably going to be thrown away. Black Sea smells really good and I have six others to try. DO NOT BLIND BUY THIS. I beg of you all 😂. Always sample first.
