#71 of My Fragrance Journey - Que Chimba!: Heat With a Pulse I’ve been holding this bottle for a while. Not even spraying it. Just... looking at it. Trying to understand why it feels less like perfume and more like a person I’m slightly intimidated by. First spray? Boom. Sun on bare shoulders. Tropical fruit everywhere - guava, passionfruit, juicy and loud and borderline too much. For a second, I thought, okay, this is going to be syrupy chaos. And then - wait. Star anise. Sharp. Green. Slightly dangerous. It slices through the sweetness like it owns the place. That liquorice edge? That’s the hook. Without it, this would be just another tropical flirt. With it... it's hips are moving slowly, eye contact held a second too long. Playful, yes. But controlled. Very controlled. Fifteen minutes in, things start melting together. Heliotrope goes soft and almondy. Orchid turns creamy. The heat doesn’t drop - it deepens. It feels like skin warming, not sugar burning. Around forty minutes, the shift happens. Anise steps back. Tobacco and tonka rise up, smooth and golden. There’s a touch of rose, but not the romantic kind - more like fabric brushing against someone’s chest. Textural. Intimate. The sweetness thickens but never turns childish. It stays... structured. An hour or two later, it’s fully in its body. Creamy woods. Patchouli with velvet edges. Amber and vanilla humming underneath. You stop chasing notes and just feel it. It’s sweet, yes. But there’s spine here. Confidence without stiffness. And let’s talk performance because - wow. This thing projects. It lingers. It claims space. Not aggressively, but undeniably. Eternal longevity? Pretty close. It’s going to polarise people. That anise-liquorice thread isn’t playing safe. This is not your polite office scent. Seeing it sit at 3.76 surprises me. Maybe people expected something easier. Softer. This isn’t that. It’s bold. Joyful. Slightly reckless. The kind of scent you wear when the night isn’t supposed to end early. Blind buy? Risky. Absolutely. But if you want safe, keep walking. Que Chimba! doesn’t whisper. It invites. Que Chimba completely surprised me in the best way. From the first spray, it felt vibrant, addictive, and full of personality. The opening is fresh and energetic, but what really won me over was the smooth dry down — warm, slightly sweet, and incredibly comforting without ever becoming too heavy. Performance on my skin was excellent, with solid longevity and a scent trail that kept getting compliments throughout the day. It has this playful yet sophisticated vibe that makes it easy to wear casually or dressed up at night. What I love most is how unique it feels compared to so many fragrances that smell repetitive lately. Que Chimba has character, confidence, and a fun energy that honestly makes me happy every time I wear it. Definitely one of my favorite discoveries and a perfume I’ll keep reaching for.

The fragrance opens with a vibrant burst of natural passion fruit and guava , juicy, realistic and perfectly balanced between sweetness and tartness. It instantly gives off the vibe of a tropical cocktail- fresh, lively and uplifting. As it develops the spices unfold beautifully, adding depth and intrigue without overpowering the composition. They’re seamlessly blended, enhancing the overall character of the scent. The drydown feels soft, smooth, and very comforting, warm woody and balsamic notes wrap around the skin like a gentle veil, offering both coziness and longevity. Overall, it’s a bright yet refined fragrance with an inviting trail and a dynamic, well-balanced structure.

This could be Lorenzo’s finest perfume, has no sharpness and loudness, but still feels the room, its smooth and stays with you for the day easily. This perfume has a soul for sure, nothing compares to it, I even had a memory of this smell, but i couldnt figure out it yet, what it is! Opens with Guava, peach, anise and some clove After 3 hours tonka, small tobbaco but you barely can smell it, its a bit boozy vibe, so thats why it can be worn all the time, and i can smell a bit of rose, in the end vanille amber and slight patchouli! THIS IS A HEAD TURNER SEXY AND SMOOTH EDIBLE parfum, if there is a cake thats tastes like this smells then, I want it!

I only got this because I am Colombian and was nostalgic, a blind buy for me! A whooping' hundred something dollars later for a scent I found very strange, confusing and not very Colombian-like at the initial spray... But at the dry down WOAH! It brought me back. You get the tropical fruits, Aguardiente (the anise), then the complexity of the other notes that somehow DO work! I really like this fragrance, not something you can wear everyday. I am excited to try the other LP fragrances however, I wouldn't say this one is a safe blind buy for some.

Delightful fizzy guava dominant scent in the opening, the dry down brings out the star anise and other spicy friends before turning into a pretty floral vanilla pod. This is the first Lorenzo Pazzaglia creation that I like, correction....love! I’m usually not a person who cares much about stages, but you will journey through three distinct paths and I’m here for it. I only wish I knew about this beauty last week so I could’ve purchased it on sale. Que Chimba! is on my buy list, I have nothing remotely like it in my 280+ collection.

Absolutely goated frag by Lorenzo Pazzaglia. For the first hour or two 3 things hit me. The guava, cinnamon and the anise. After a couple of hours go by, it drifts into a cinnamon, anise, woody smell. It's fairly sweet, but I can imagine this being worn in the summer (especially at the beginning with the guava blast). Could work fairly well as a summer night frag? The dry-down reminds me of Kagamigoshi by Édit(h).

Wow this is gorgeous! Perfect for summer. It's fruity, tangy, woody, and sweet. I fell in love instantly. I only have a small decant. But I would love a bigger size to really experience the scent fully. The guava really shines for me, it's delicious and comforting too.

To me this is Christmas in South America. Juicy tropical fruits layer beautifully with traditionally Christmas spices. The best fragrance I have purchased in awhile and I have quite a collection.

This is an incredible tropical summer fragrance. The opening is super tropical with pink guava, peach, and a slightly gingery scent. Guess what?? The dry down is more interesting.

I'm pretty sure the licorice smell is coming from the anis note, an ingredient used in Aguardiente which is an iconic Colombian spirit. Just an FYI for those complaining

"Summer" Tom Ford Vanillie Tobacco with a passion fruit-guava opening, regardless, it's a wonderful scent, it lasts for 6-8 hours easily :)

I just ordered this today. I truly cannot wait to get this in. I hope it's unisex enough, but his scents are too good to pass up. 🤩

This is a great scent. I like it even more after it dries down. I always want to smell it. It's a special feeling..

Very polarising, i happen to love it

Whoa, this is some strange fruit! I was skeptical about this one, as I'm not an anise or cinnamon fan, but I LOVE passionfruit, peach and guava -- so I ordered a sample out of sheer curiosity. While I do NOT think this deserves the bashing some have given it here, it's definitely a peculiar concoction -- not at all a safe blind buy, and yet, I don't dislike this odd combination of notes! The anise isn't AS prevalent as I'd anticipated but it does come through, the cinnamon as well rears its head in the opening before drying down to a warm and spicy melange that comes across more as a fruity - winter -spiced tea than a big fruity floral. It does have a slight medicinal leaning in the opening but that doesn't last long. This is very autumnal leaning. Probably not for me, but definitely worth a sniff as it's quite interesting! I'm really falling for Pazzaglia's work!

I go to a Colombian restaurant every once in a blue moon for lunch so I've gotten accustomed to certain colombian scents others might not recognize. To me this starts off smelling like passionfruit and guava in the opening like a smoothie before settling down not into star anise but specifically aguardiente and then some florals finishing into a woody ambery base. Lorenzo really did his research with this one, but I think he shouldve thrown in some lulo and coconut into the mix. Sillage was a couple hours and its one of those rare summer gourmands that breaks the usual citrus mold. Definitely true unisex but I feel more women reaching for this then men. Would recommend to certain people, just not those who absolutely hate licorice.

This perfume has a distinct touch compared to other tropical and summer fragrances. I was thinking it will be another Erba Pura perfume, but the anise note is very unique with the mix of tropical notes. Projection in the beginning is too long; you can distinguish the tropical anise with every movement you make. I prefer to use it at night due to the sweetness of the perfume, but I'm pretty sure it's a good, versatile summer perfume for the ladies. Edit: After 4 or 5 hours, I can smell a very smooth vanilla within tropical notes, this makes me think the perfume is very well for night in a closer meeting.

This opens with a really strong licorice smell. It is a little off-putting if you don't like anise. It is a super complex fragrance that last and morphs throughout the wear. The guava and fruits give this scent a different complexity with the anise and cinnamon. Once it starts to dry down, the sweetness from the fruits are there but it turns into a softer anise smell with a nice woody/tobacco backbone. I believe it can be worn year round as the scents compliments all seasons, but honestly I would do spring and fall. I would wear something a little fresher for those summer months.

Mango sorbet at beginning. A little fizzy. Slightly sharp. Then dries down to warm dry spices and sandalwoord - cloves, anise, incense. A lingering sense of tropical fruit, mangoes and guava and passionfruit in background. Ultimately cosy and tantalizing. Not too smoky or dull. Inviting, cuddle up and breathe me in. Vanilla makes showing after a few hours of wearing. It's a beautiful dry vanilla. Not overly sweet or cloying. Lovely journey.
