Move over, older rocker boomer — there’s a new Gen X troublemaker on stage. I sprayed Tony Iommi Monkey Special Xerjoff on one wrist, expecting the usual smoky riff and swagger. You know, that familiar “I’ve been touring since 1972 and still haven’t washed this leather jacket” energy. Tony’s scent came in like a moody guitar solo with the anticipated patchouli puffing a cigar backstage, rum sloshing in a crystal tumbler, giving me a nod like, “Yeah kid, I’m the headliner.” But then I sprayed Vesuviuur Lorenzo Pazzaglia on the other wrist. And oh boy. My olfactory response was to recoil because this was no polite opener. No, Vesuviuur kicked down the door with a bottle in each hand, yelling “LET’S GOOOO!” in perfect Italian vibrato. The booze notes didn’t just stroll out, mind you, they stage-dived onto my nose. It smelled like an intermission bar fight at the Teatro alla Scala opera house. It was loud, dramatic, and weirdly seductive. Suddenly Tony’s smoky leather felt less like a headliner and more like that guy at the bar mumbling about “the good old days, rememberem berries?” Vesuviuur was stealing the spotlight, flipping his hair, and setting the drum kit on fire figuratively. Probably. So yeah, sorry Tony, it's time to boot scootin' boogie your black leather-clad boomer self off the olfactory Pompeii stage. The volcano just erupted, and it doesn’t do opening acts.

Vesuviuur Opens up with some christmas spices, butter, rum and a hint of bread. It makes me think of very buttery beer bread but with rum instead of beer. As it dries down it becomes very similar to Lattafa's Khamra, simply because of the combination of rum and dates. The date note is nearly identical to lattafa's, but otherwise there are a lot more nuances found here as compared to Khamra so don't go in expecting a 1 to 1. Those nuances are a good thing. Theres some slight florals, a butter smoothness, and a very pleasant creaminess from the whipped cream. Eventually, the rum and date start to dry down and youre left with what makes me think of caramel buttercream. This is exquisite and I'm deciding between this and Van Py Rhum as my favorite gourmand from the line.

I received a sample of this with my order and oh my I wasn’t expecting this to be so good, it’s delicious, it’s creamy, sweet, but also a little salty, as an Italian this really smells like christmas lunch at grandma’s house, they’re still some food here and there, people are playing bingo and drinking alcohol, eating sweet lemon desserts, and your cousin has just sprayed her new perfume that she got gifted. It’s amazing, easily an all year round fragrance, in the summer the citrus notes are more prominent, but the cold weather would probably bring out more sweetness, so so good, not your usual gourmand.

Maybe one of the unknown gems of the lineup because it was first an exclusive release to a shop. Beautiful but Fragrantica doesn’t mention Sweet as the main accord, this is definitely sweet to my nose. Otherwise, pretty hard scent to describe. I get some type of « caramel like » accord with some citruses and vanilla. The vanilla is well blended and not over the top. It's a little bit salty (i can smell some Dream Sea vibe for the salty part), very creamy and spicy.

Reading other reviews saying this is bad makes me think that this is really unique. It is not bad AT ALL, it is sweet, floral, warm, cozy,dessert-like. The oud in here is not noticeable at all if you’re concerned about it. I own it but wouldnt wear it cause i dont like wearing gourmands lol but love the smell. I would layer it with strong smoky fragrances to tone them down and make them warmer.

This is a spicy and woody fragrance. What I smell: Cinnamon, Oud, Cloves, Saffron, Rum patchouli. Similar to Pana Dora Imperial Wood, but IW quality is better than Vezuviuur. Definitely an autumn and winter scent.

Very strong and reminds me of Khamrah

It starts off disgusting, way too boozy with some kind of smell that is like licqorice but not. The dry down gets better and wearable. It needs an hour to become wearable tho. The type of gourmand you would find in some spicy local cake that only the locals like in some middle east or north african country. But its also very boozy which is weird cos they arent supposed to have alcohol. Not my thing.

One word for this perfume: strong tropical. People who like tropical perfumes have to like this one. I personally hate it. It smells like a sweet orange rum scent. There is no vanilla, no cocoa, nothing like that. I am a vanilla girl, and I own Sugar Kisses, Van Py Rhum, and Van Exstasyx, and they are all wonderful. Sugar Kisses is the best perfume I’ve ever owned, and it shares first place with Fire at Will. But Vesuviuur is just bad. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Wow wow wow, beautiful fragrance. Vesuviuur is a sweet and somewhat spicy gourmand with hints of florals, it also has fruity undertones. To my nose it mainly smells like rum, bread, spices, florals, caramel and dates. Yesterday someone commented on it, the first thing they told me was that it smelled like caramel, so yes it is caramel heavy but in a good way. For me it is not sickly sweet, thanks to the florals, spices and other notes it does not get sickly sweet. There is some oud in this fragrance but it is barely noticeable and it blends beautifully with the other notes. This is not a beast mode fragrance. After 1-1.5 hours of wearing it turns into a skin scent and when it is projecting that first hour it is moderate - strong. It lasts for 5 hours, 4 of those hours as a skin scent. This really brings the fragrance down, but it can be solved by having a travel bottle with you for reapplying during the day. All in all this is my personal ranking: Scent: 9.4/10 Longevity: 3/10 Total: 7.5/10. (9.4 if you have a travel bottle with you for reaplying)

Lovely opening with all those beautiful seasonal notes with that underlying caramel . The drydown is pretty good too , but i read someone compared it to Khamrah Dukhan and too be fair it is pretty close though Versuviuur is of better quality and the smell is beautiful however it sits lighter on the skin which is a shame because I would love it stronger so I could appreciate it myself more. An hour and a half in its a light skin scent and i still get the hint of sillage but it is not performing as the scent deserves. Shame as turning this up a few notches and it would be quite incredible and a perfect dna for me

Dark, dank, rummy/boozy, sweet, spicy, sugary and very fun smelling. This isnt as bready as Angel's Share imo. This is much thicker, darker and more boozy than Angel's Share. Angel's Share is more bready and woody. To my nose Angel's Share is pure luxurious elegance, whereas Vesuviir has a bit of elegance to it too, but its much more of an olfactive thrill ride that feels adventurous and exciting to smell. Every time I smell Angel's Share I think "mmm..thats good". When I smell Vesuviir, I think "damn, this is just crazy". This is an 8.5/10 for me.
