Wild Lavender

Wild Lavender is a nice example of a barbershop-style fougère, led by the eponymous lavender note and complemented by herbal green notes, citrus and spice. Classic in style, it is aromatic throughout, refreshing and realistic. It is a fine composition, pleasant from top to bottom, good-quality and effortlessly elegant, but its performance leaves much to be desires. WL opens with the aforementioned lavender note, bright and realistic. Citrus follows, notably lemon, adding bright, tart freshness. The underlying greenness tempers it nicely, adding dewy freshness and keeping things aromatic. Peppery spice emerges after a little while, adding to the aromatic fougère structure. The herbal undertone comes to the fore as the scent progresses, a seamless development from the opening lavender. I get sage in particular, marrying nicely with the spice, alongside some rosemary. A pine-like edge is also evident to my nose, perhaps thanks to the juniper. As it develops, it remains herbal, complemented nicely by spices. Clove emerges during the later stages, warm and sweet, and it remains peppery. It becomes somewhat powdery here, with clean musk blurring the edges. Tonka bean adds body to the drydown, its sweet-spiciness tying everything together nicely. It fades to a musky skin scent with some spices lingering. Despite its composition, WL is let down by its performance, or lack thereof. Sillage is intimate and longevity is weak. It is at its strongest at initial spray, but quickly becomes a skin scent that doesn't last very long. Nothing unusual, but a nice example of its genre, WL is an easy everyday freshie for warm weather. It is masculine-leaning in my opinion, being a classic lavender fougère. Restorative as well as an elegant scent, WL is as lovely as it is fleeting. 2.5/5.

جالب کسی اشاره ای به شباهت بسیار بالای لورنزو ویلورسی وایلد لاوندر و شنل اگویست پلاتینیوم نکرده! به نظر من هردو بسیار مشابه و از بهترین آروماتیک های خنک و اوج کیفیت لاوندر در بستری اسپایسی و خنک هستند. برای من که هردوشون دارم لاوندر و رزماری بارزترین نت هردو هست خاصه لاوندر و تفکیک و تغییر نت ها در هردو خیلی خوب گرچه در شنل بمراتب بهتر و برتر از لورنزو است. تنها تفاوت این که کار لورنزو یه تیزی و تندی پیدا میکنه که سبب میشه برخلاف اون شروع خوبش بعد مدتی درهم و البته تند و تیز بنظر بیاد اما اگویست پلاتینیوم از ابتدا تا انتها بسیار باوقار و مشخص حرکت میکنه و کیفیت خیلی عالی در تک تک نت ها وجود داره درحالی‌که لورنزو وایلد لاوندر فقط لاوندر و رزماری اش برای من شفاف و جالب بود.البته راستش چون از یک لمپن تو تاکسی بازخورد خیلی بدی بابت وایلدلاوندر گرفتم کلا نگاهم بهش منفی شد و شک ندارم اون بازخورد در نگاه بعدی من خیلی تاثیر داشته وگرنه کیفیت تمام کارهای لورنزو که تقریبا بی استثنا همشون داشته ام عالی و در حد رفرنس هستند، به استثنای شاید تسوس که اصلا باب من نبود و مغشوش و تاحدودی کاسماسورابی.اما اگر مختار باشم بین دوتای اگویست پلاتینیوم شنل و وایلد لاوندر انتخاب کنم قطعا شنل انتخابم حتی اگر تفاوت قیمتا در ایران سه برابر باشه[کلا در ایران اوباش بازاری شنل را با خون باباشون میفروشن].

I know scent is subjective, but this is amazing. The opening is strong concentrated lavender (it seems) however within 15 or so minutes it becomes light, fresh and smells like lavender (and not so flowery like people seem to think lavender is). Wonderful and not offensive for wearing at the office!

A very lemony lavender with a rich spicy background. Very good,naturalistic herbal scent with a soul.

Too much amalfi lemon for my taste, as with Uomo. Otherwise, good quality.

starting off i smell lavender and other herbs with a hint of soft powderiness underneath. i think the other strongest herb is clary sage. it smells kind of like aftershave. after about 15 minutes the lavender disappears and it's a soft herbal musk with a hint of brightness from the citruses. i find this to be comforting because it reminds me of my grandfathers a bit, or fragrances from their era. as someone below said, this is definitely old school, also it leans traditionally masculine. so it's not for me personally but it is really nice and would be great on the right person.

I’m a big fan of Villoresi’s offerings, but I feel this one is a bit of a let down. Scent profile is too sweet for something that is meant to be ‘wild’, and it comes off as too cosmetic. It dissipates way too quickly.

1920's(?) classic lavender +citrus scent -got a 90's update. A little dated. Very gentleman like and elegant. Not for everyone.

I've been on the hunt for the perfect lavender scent for some time now, and for a short while it really looked like I had found it. Like most Villoresi scents, Wild Lavender opens in technicolour, accompanied by a big band. Strong, aromatic and zesty. It's the truest lavender scent I have come across. It's herbal, it's tart, it's refreshing, it's REAL - for all of 15 minutes, and believe me, I'm not exaggerating. Then the big band suddenly leave, the lights go out, and the scent fades into a somewhat generic herbal musk slightly reminiscent of lavender. What a shame! And off I go to find a lavender scent that lasts at least a couple of hours.

Wow, this is indeed a very true interpretation of Lavender!! It really smells like it has just been freshly picked and bruised, slightly camphoraceous. If you should happen to have a slight headache, this is sure to clear those sinuses for you!! It's very hard to single out other notes, but I guess that was the purpose, all the other notes allow the lavender to triumph as king. And true to what the previous reviewer said... the Lavender powerpunch lasts all of a few minutes and then it fades down to a very soft, fresh herbal skin scent lasting about an hour.

A nice astringent lavender hampered by very poor longevity and projection. It does nothing to raise it's head above a dozen other lavender fragrances. I would give this one a miss and look into Oxford & Cambridge by Czech & Speake. It's a lavender with peppermint and oakmoss and gives you more than this offering.

Apre selvaggio con una lavanda iperealista,aspra,inglese in un terrazzo tutto italiano. Una bella boccata efficace per gli amanti del genere. Poi un intermezzo di saponetta elegante con rosmarino vivace e tonico. Chiude maschile in una schiuma da barba soft e un po' generica.
