Feraud Homme

Youtube fragrance reviewer Scentland recently reviewed this fragrance as one of the best men's fragrances that nobody talks about. With so few reviews here on this juice it's clearly not popular. There's only 4 reviews and the last one was posted 4 years ago! However, this is a hidden gem! If you like citrusy summer fragrances you're going to love this one. It reminds me a lot of L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme Issey Miyake, but without the Yuzu note. This has the cassis note which makes it more masculine than the Issey. Both fragrances are dominated by lemon and frankly, some of the most freshest summer fragrances I ever smelled. Issey wins in performance. But Feraud wins in being the more masculine.

I like it. It smells rather synthetic in the opening, but nice. Green, sharp, effervescent. Better, masculin-er and more fresh than Lalique White. I get some underlying vibe of a orange blossom frag like Silver Scent, Roma or Picasso Minotaure but it’s just a hint. The notes are clean but sensual. Worth a look If you want a fresh airy price worthy designer level scent - with still some good body to it. Edit: Every time I apply I love it more. LOVE IT.

Gee, where to begin? My impression of Feraud Homme was that this was the “father inspiration” of Dior Homme Sport, seeing as it was launched 3 years before Dior’s classic freshie. I spent quite some time looking for this scent as it seems to be discontinued by now, when finally I had the opportunity of receiving a 5 ml decant about a month ago – summer was coming, and the timing was perfect, oh joy! But maybe that’s too quick. Let’s turn the question around : do they smell alike? Well, the opening is quite sharp, full of bergamot and lemon as a proper summer scent should be, and gets a little touch of dustiness as the cardamom enters. This is followed by a heart of cassis or blackcurrant leaf, that may come off a little floral, which is then joined by a slightly soapy vetiver. The base consists of woods (cedar?), musk and even if it’s not listed I do get a tiny hint of ginger every now and then – but I could just be seeing things when my mind tries to compare to DHS. So by now, all the players are in place for a great summer scent. The problem is : it doesn’t last very long. No, let me rephrase that in a more contemporary language : the longevity sucks! It lasts about 2 hours on my skin with low projection, and after that... nothing. Not even a skin scent. So... in my personal opinion there’s no justifying searching high and low for this, when there are better options to be had in today’s market. By the way, there’s also a different older version by Feraud called pour Homme, which was released back in 1984.

I blind to bought it in cheap price. It's made by Selective Beauty not Perfumer's Workshop. First smell is strong lemon open woody and flower middle, dry down is soft musky and wood. It's fresh and clean easy to wear in many crowd good for summer in humid land. Good for office and casual wear,good sillage and good long last.

A Sour Summer Freshie - the estranged and forgotten older brother of Dior Homme Sport. Feraud Homme lies somewhere in between the original Dior Homme Sport (2008) and Sean John 3 am (the same perfumer also created Feraud Homme). In fact, there is no way Dior Homme Sport wasn’t at least a little influenced by the comparatively unknown Feraud Homme, which came out three years before its own release. The skeleton and spirit of Feraud Homme's scent structure can definitely be found when I spray my bottle of 2008 Dior Homme Sport. For the budget price that this goes for, Feraud Homme is an easy go-to as a casual weekend daytime refresher in the summer. The longevity is dreadful, actually, scrap that the longevity is absolutely woeful (about 2, maybe 3 hours in the high heat), but this is cheap enough that you can just keep spraying whenever you need a top-up throughout the day (warning, the sprayer is dreadful). This is definitely suited to daytime; it’s a very casual, sporty fragrance that I wouldn’t wear for either nighttime or formal occasions. The cassis/blackcurrant leaf is an out-of-left field touch (especially these days) that nicely separates this from being just another generic summer citrus fragrance. Lemon (but thankfully not awful dishwashing soap quality), a touch of cardamom, sour fruity/floral cassis leaf, and a hint of ginger on a woody and musky base. Light and airy and perfect to wear in humidity as this cuts through high heat really easily. Longevity problems aside, scent-wise, this is a fantastic summertime heater beater. I reside in a hot, humid part of Asia as an expat, and I douse myself in this when the temperatures soar. As a nice bonus, the ladies also tend to really like it. A great summer freshie that doesn’t reinvent the wheel yet has enough interesting character due to the cassis leaf to set it apart from most of the generic male ambroxan crap that comes out these days. This is definitely a fragrance of the 2000s era, and I mean that in an extremely good way. This is a solid like, but not a love for me. If you can live with the terrible longevity, then this is definitely blind buy worthy. If you don’t love Feraud Homme, I can 100% guarantee you will at least like it enough to add it to your casual summer rotation.
