Cosmic Cloud

It is starting off with a splash of slightly sharp, fresh bergamot and a syrupy fruity back note, based on a pillow of powdery musk. The musk and blackcurrant combination has a hint of funk, animalics. Blackcurrant in higher concentrations can come off as slightly 'catty', but it mostly adds some brightness here. The blend is now reminiscent of vintage soap, but combined with a sweet tonka it creates a sensual, warm base. The result is a very vintage powdery, lady-like clean but warm and alluring composition. I am fascinated by different historical eras and 'cosmic cloud' for me is a journey through time. A voyage through the Belle Époque, observing the trend shift from strong perfumes and heavy animalics to more gentle, lighter perfumery. 'In the Romantic era, after centuries of perfume use mainly intended to mask bad hygiene, new trends became popular under french empress Josephine. She encouraged the production and use of soap and brought exotic florals, and fresh, light scents into fashion. Musks continued to be popular but its high cost led to developmens of synthetic alternatives. And then in the Belle Époque, following the introduction of other new synthetic molecules and early aldehydes, an entirely new era in perfumery began. It was now possible to create powdery exotic floral scents with much more complexity than before.' When I wear cosmic cloud, I am there. Witnessing the flourishing of haute couture in paris. I imagine affluent ladies in their opulent, beautfiul embellished dresses and the scent of powdery, slightly sweet and overly feminine perfume all around me. 9/10

On the opening this fragrance is a strange combination of two parts, the first lasting 30 seconds at max and the second staying consistent for the next 6-8 hours on my skin and about 5 on clothing. I’m not sure why but it seems that Cosmic Cloud has the quickest dry down I’ve ever seen in a fragrance. The first 30 seconds are slightly unpleasant with a blast of alcohol and chemically notes but this is easily countered by the extremely pleasant wearing scent that you have for the next 6-8 hours. I detect a strong musk note, with a fair amount of ginger mixed into it, light notes of fruitiness, and a tiny almost undetectable hint of sweetness. This combination is very enjoyable and the experience is made even more pleasant because it stays strong for the next 6 hours and has faded almost entirely by hour 8 due to this I would say that longevity is an 7/10. I do wish there was better projection with this fragrance, it sticks quite close to the skin, although I can detect it it when I start to move my arm towards my nose. I would say that warrants a 4/10 for projections. Overall while very enjoyable, it suffers from the same issue that every other fragrance from the Louis Vuitton Extrait line suffers from; a $650 price tag for 100ml. It is an enjoyable fragrance but it is not a $650 dollar enjoyable fragrance.

I love perfume. I really really love perfume. If I have £100 in my pocket and I smell a fragrance that speaks to me I will spend that £100 on the fragrance. My lv fave is Fleur de desert and the others I can pretty much leave but this I was curious about. Historically, in not a lover of animalic scents, but lately I'm wavering . I always read the reviews on this site before sampling and the handful for Cosmic cloud were damning. 'cat wee' was a prolific comment..which doesn't sound alluring, but I sprayed it on myself regardless. I definitely got the cat wee comment! I hated it..infact I left the lv boutique and went straight to meet a friend, flinging my wrist towards her ....'smell this!!!! ' BUT. . . . 30 minutes later....I really liked it. 15 mins after that, I really liked it, and 30 mins after that I paid £450 for it 🤣. My 17 year old daughter had the same reaction initially, but I just caught her spraying herself with it . Moral of the tale - reviews are really useful. . And I will continue to allow them to guide me.... but smell is so personal and if something speaks to you, then let it speak . Cat pee or not - I think I smell great.

I have Cosmic Cloud. I bought it blindly. I am not a fragrance expert. I just know what I love. I knew from the description I would love this scent. On me a small amount goes a long way. I can smell it on me throughout the day. I have been told I know you were here because I smelled your perfume. Fragrance is subjective and depended on body chemistry. I am a fan of deep musk scents. With Cosmic Cloud, I get the musk with a touch of floral. Personally, I believe this is a more feminine scent. If I live a fragrance I will wear it in any season. Fragrance is my personal expression. The price is expensive, but is inline with luxury fragrances. The Louis Vuitton L’Extrait fragrances are wonderful. There are 5 fragrances in the collection. I would like to get the entire collection. My next purchase in the collection will be Stellar Times.

The name suits this scent so well. It really is like a sweet, sparkly, cosmic cloud! So on initial spray you get a zesty, sweet, musky, cloudy scent. So so pleasant. Sweet and sparkly. I cant pick out the single notes other than musk and something very hazy, cloudy, juicy, sweet. Projection is ok, and staying power isnt the best..I get 2-3 hrs of solid projection, after that it turns into a skin scent. The only problem I have with it is the price. The dry down is almost identical to Narciso Rodriguez Musc Noir. So you can realistically just buy that and have the same scent profile - the same strength and lasting power for less money. Also, if you want to buy a LV frag that makes you smell expensive, this is not it. It’s a cute, non offensive, beautiful, fun fragnance!

This is a beautiful fragrance, it is like a fruity, musky pillow and it has very good longevity as well as projection. Unfortunately this is being discontinued, they do not display it in stores anymore and there are very few if any at all left in stock on their site. I have a ~97% fill of this bottle available at $550 if anyone is interested, if you like this perfume and don't have a bottle yet I suggest you get one as soon as possible either from LV or from me. I usually don’t like fruity or chypre family but this one and Rhaspody are my favorites.

I took a few non-fraghead female friends to the Louis Vuitton boutique on a fragrance voyage of discovery. The customer service was non-existent but that meant that we were left to our own devices to explore the fragrance range. Cosmic Cloud seemed like the best as it was radiating summertime, so sprayed it 4 times on my neck. The first 30 minutes I smelt like a zesty yellow cloud of warm sunshine but during the course of our group meal, I couldn’t smell myself anymore. 2 hours later and it had become a close skin scent with a projection of 2cm. I expect the price is high, but if it had performed better that wouldn’t have mattered. A much better premium alternative is Dusita’s ‘Moonlight in Chiangmai’ as it resembles the juicy and glistening citrus with warm sunny musks but done much better.

At first it smells putrid, like a fecal smell. But that acutally passes quickly and underneath is a soft, sweet skin scent.

Card sniffed in the boutique today. Complex and heavy. Strong patchouli/musk combo. I got transported into the "Angel" world however this is not gourmand - it was just a nod to that style. Also slightly reminded me slightly of Attrape-Reve, however this is more musky. I think this would be a bit suffocating on me, but I appreciate LV not playing it safe.

Echoing Mez0Nez here, this is like a suede jacket trapped in a hair salon. Lots of chemicals and fruits competing for attention on the opening, dries down to something more unisex but altogether less than the sum of its parts.

Like a toned down, medicinal, musky Afternoon Swim. Subtle to a fault. Synthetic to a fault. Dissipates too quickly. Doesn’t last. Smells like hair spray and leans femme. Cool name 🤷

When I smelled this at the LV store in NYC months ago, I had it in mind that for my next trip to Europe I'd get this and City of Stars, full bottle as its cheaper there. Before then I had the opportunity to get 5ml decants of both. Paid a pretty penny but wanted full wearing then just trying to remember the scent from the store since LV has no sense of customer service and never supply samples or even a discovery set. Anyway upon getting the decants, I realize I definitely want a FB of City of Stars as its such a lovely refreshing scent with nice sillage and longevity, Cosmic Cloud however is a No. There's something so oily and nausea-inducing in the base that ruins what should be a gorgeous scent. I keep trying to like it and I just cant. I dont know how the experience is so different than what I smelled but yea, no thanks. I want to scrub it off. I might just use the decant around my ankles just so it doesnt continue to make me sick. and of course it has crazy longevity. So glad I decided to try a decant instead of just opting for a FB.

I really just get a damp musk. No sweetness or zest from the bergamot. I’m going to give it some time. I don’t mind a patchouli dry down, but it’s not very complex for what you’re paying. I’d have to layer it to enjoy this.

On first sniff from the bottle, I thought I loved it but, on my skin, it dries down to a chemical-ly, hair product smell. Just not great, to my nose, especially for the price.

Reminds me of Baccarat Rouge 540, which is a perfume I dislike so much. Interesting cause they seem to have no overlapping notes

I think this perfume is very poor in my opinion and not worthy of its very high price tag at all. It kind of makes me think of hippies and communes, if anything. The patchouli in this makes me feel ill and so does the very strong musk in this. It makes me think of dirty sweat and strong body odors. The fruity notes in this are also too much for me and the blackcurrant note has a very strong cat pee smell to it. Just musty, dirty and pungent smelling. Sillage ended up being moderate on me but this fragrance ended up lasting about 10 hours on my skin unfortunately. It's not one I'd ever want to torture myself with smelling again! This is why I'd give this fragrance a 2/10.

Very disappointed in this one. The opening smells like body fluids post coital and then it fades to a nothingness. Not sure what the direction was for this fragrance, but will be giving my sample away!

Smells like cat pee. And apparently it is not just my imagination, as several people who I gave it to sniff made same comments. Not blind buy safe at all.

At the first spray, you can smell the strong musky scent. I always detect their own leather nuance from Louis Vuitton's perfumes I don't know it is their signature or not though... The leather nuance and fruity (the note says Cassis) make it smell like a perm solution that lukewarm powdery nuance(you can say it "leathery" or "suede") that you can feel from other Osmanthus perfumes(e.g: Inle by Memo). The first thing that comes to mind is just the view of the hair salon. To cover the strong smell of hair products at the hair salon, the products have fruit scents or strong scents. as I opened the salon, I could smell the chemicals and hideous fruity nuance. It is exactly like this perfume. It smells like a woman with nearly orange long curly hair who just finished her perm and shaking her hair to dry it.

The top is kinda rough, so is Ombré Nomade. Just like ON, the dry down gives you one of the most amazing frags... if you like the “you but better” skin scent style of perfumery. Light musky, slight sweetness and that animalistic opening dries down to a real, human, skin scent. Not clean, not dirty, just a person and a seductive one at that. As usual, people who can’t afford LV frags are hating on them, but as soon as they are offered up on a buy/swap/sell board they are there with their pennies, fighting for that “gross” and “basic” scent... what a joke you haters are. Be poor and miserable. I’ll be debt free, happy and smelling amazing.

Highly feminine, and a screechy sharp synthetic fruit opening. Very sweet, and definite sizzle from some of the musky powdery-ness. Musky, Fruity, Powdery is exactly how I would describe this thing I can't quite put my finger on it but this reminds me of something. It definitely has a bit of generic feminine perfumery touches. The longevity is decent but to be honest with you I'm just not sure this is something worth investing in especially at the elevated already expensive LV pricing. Dont get me wrong I love LV frags but this one here is notttttt it. If you're shopping LV, go for a different option.

Wow, I genuinely love the opening and heart of this fragrance so much, but the drydown is let down by what feels like the wrong choice of musk, with a touch of an oakmoss molecule that makes it a little difficult on the palate. The opening is warm, smooth, and slightly animalic with a nostalgic charm. It's gently sweet but never cloying or gourmand, just truly special. I really hope they recall this one and rework the drydown to give it a second chance. This is a rare case for me because the drydowns of LV fragrances are usually to die for.

At first I really hated the sweetness of the first 10 minutes but then it turns into this lovely shampooey scent that just makes you want to keep sniffing it. Has that LV DNA and very long lasting for the notes, I don’t believe its worth the price tag tho, but if you have money to spare and loves clean scents this one is a good shout!

Before I could smell it, the sales rep talked it up to be some kind of deep & complex musky woody dream, just to be slapped in the face by a pastel off-white of something milky with hints of spice... Eggnog? You can get something like this from Montale/Mancera and MANY other brands for 20% the price 😑

Biggest disappointment ever. Smells like hairspray but not even as good as hairspray. Not citrusy or fruity or anything. Smells unfinished. No fluffy musk, nothing. Just chemical mess. All there other frags I’ve tried are pure synthetic. I think people go crazy because it’s LV.

Gutted they are discontinuing this, fortunately I found Missing Person by Phlur strongly resembles this fragrance (at least on my skin). Obviously not the same longevity as Cosmic Cloud, but a good second option!

A couple years ago i tried this and it was really captivating. It really smelt like a juicy sparkling cloud that linked for days. Recently tried it and it’s quite musky and flat. Not sure what changed

This perfume is very nice and lovely . Musk and bergamot notes are dominant . It smells like bathing with luxury French soap and shampoo . Longevity & Sillage are high . Be sure to try it . 😍

Stunning opening. Fluffy musk. Beautiful in store. On skin, dried down very patchouli and almost sour. & well, not for me and my skin. Beautiful sniff though!

I get a musky tonka bean and a little spice maybe...? I must be going crazy because my decant smells nothing like the notes listed in here.
