Fantasmagory

I bought this perfume and I can say it's absolute worth it for me becouse this is the most delicious almond-creamy vanille frag out there! Some way it's reminds me of Tom Ford Soleil Blanc becouse of some ethereal salty- nutty note (it's called here almond, in Soleil Blanc it's the pistaccio.) But in Fantasmagoy instead of coconut- vanille is a very smooth and elegant creamy- vanille! I dont know Poison but Fantasmagory is definetely absolute not similar to Vanille Powder extr. There is nothing coconut here but is VPE is lots of...So if you have some good vanille-almond, go for it. Unisex in the feminin side but on a man can easily be very good too. UPDATE: I was wearing it last week from day to day and I can say it' s the most beautifule vanile theme parfune in my collection. It goes sooo very well vith that creamy-nutty almond accord hmmm...sometimes I get a litte saltyness-never too cloying, it's a dream. But now I can't imagine on a man. It is for me an absolute feminin frag. If you would like to have the beautiest vanille - go for it. Spare some money and buy it, you won't regret it.

I disagree that this for for the ladies. Its a beautifuly blended unisex scent. If youre a man who can rock vanilla diorama (or really any vanilla scent) This is for you. Longevity is eternal. Has a great scent bubble and trail. The ginger in the opening adds a nice sparke and the almond adds some nuttiness that stopes it from being 100% vanilla or "too feminine. " Dont hear what im not saying. This IS a vanilla scent. And at that it's the best vanilla ive ever smelled, truly a masterpiece and fantasmagory manages that without being headache inducing. Downside is that its not very intresting and its pretty linear. Some tobacco or brandy would be nice to give it a bit more depth- and at the price im hesitant to layer it. Speaking of which, its expensive - but that goes without saying- if youre ok with buying symphony or the other extraits at this price, then this will not be an issue as its the best of the line, but, if youre put off by the idea of spending $600+ , then walk away. That being said. 9/10 fragrance (0.5 point deducted for being linear, 0.5 point deducted for price)

This smells REALLY good to me. Is “really good” a justification to spend $600+ on a fragrance? I can only speak for myself, and the answer is “probably”. The scent itself is one of the smoothest vanillas I’ve smelled, regardless of designer/niche, or considering the price. There’s some underlying spiciness with gives it a little bite, and you get the almond pretty quick in the opening followed by florals which last a while along with the vanilla. Lasts a lot longer than people are saying, and has moderate projection. Leans feminine but can easily be pulled off by a guy. It’s on the same tier as Symphony in terms of quality, which is impressive to me. I think people get way too hung up on what a fragrance SHOULD smell like for $____ because they’ve smelled good (or subjectively better) things that cost less. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this smelled and how long it lasted based on the negative reviews I’ve seen on here. Do yourself a favor and buy a sample like I did so you can judge for yourself

Very unisex airy almond and vanilla. Amazing versatility, very mass appealing, etc. Only issue is for the price it is very very simple. Thats not in itself is not bad but, I feel like the quality of the scent while good is not 600 dollars worth good. Also the scent itself is pretty easily duped (PC's Dulzura Vanilla Envie, or Bharara's/Mast's Rome Fantasmagory to name a couple, Rome Fantasmagory in particular imo is better than the og in terms of every metric especiallyon my skin) or simply the scent is made redundant by other similar frags like Pegasus, Hypnotic Poison, etc which while they are all very much distict enough that anyone could say which is which, they have just enough similarity to the point where one couldn't justify spending the coin on this over them. LV did at the end of the day cook a bit, but they made a cheeseburger instead lf something we haven't even heard of before. Which is par for the course for them although I will say Attrape-Reves and Ombre Nomade are interesting.

İt smells soo similar to hypnotic poison but the ginger just hits different.İts warm and cozy but also sexy and distant at the same time.İt's not like the other regular gourmand vanilla scents,its spicy &sexy.Definitely a cold night scent.İt smells like inside of a very expensive makeup bag for me but you can get hypnotic poison with a very similar scent profile for much less price but it smells amazing for me and its literally eternal.İt just sticks to the skin.The quality is amazing.But the leather note gives off a bad smell from underneath,Maybe I'll buy it again when I finish the current one 8/10.

This smells like Babycat, but it's lighter and less animalic. After fifteen to twenty minutes, the scent bubble morphs into a smooth, airy vanilla, and the leather and almond mingle and become less pungent. I just received mine, hoping to be able to wear it in hot weather, but I am going to let it macerate for several weeks and try it again in early autumn when it should be absolutely beautiful. This is a sophisticated, grown-up fragrance. Very rich and sexy, feminine and alluring.

O kadar benlik bir koku ki bayıldım 💕. Tatlı, bulutsu, gurme, vanilyalı, lezzetli bir koku. Sanki birazcık sütlü fındıklı çikolatamsı bir kokusu da var; ama daha çok bulutumsu bir vanilya kokuyor. ÇOK GÜZEL. Vanilla powder'la sweet tooth'u seviyorsanız eminim bunu da seversiniz. Çünkü bu koku ikisinden de izler taşıyor, sanki iki parfümün çocuğu olsa bu parfüm olurmuş gibi. Severek kullanacağıma eminim.

I honestly really like this one. The opening is quite harsh, but after the dry down, it turns into a really nice vanilla. Really feminine however, be aware. Reminds me a lot of vanilla powder edp/extrait and angel dust. I wouldn't say this is worth the money, but I really get where lv went with this one. It lasts really long, around 10 hours with amazing projection. Not as bad as people say. 8/10

Update review - I got a 10ml of this stuff in a trade. And it is genuinely a masterpiece. Everything about this scent is perfect, and I honestly prefer it a smidge over symphony (as someone who has used over 50mls of it) Fantasmagory is phenomenal. Really recommend this to anyone looking for a huge winter hitter. Projects and lasts eternally, 12+ hours with insane projection. 9.2/10

100% femnine, its gorgeous when your wife or your girlfriend wearing this one but its Very Very expensive for Vanilla Gourmand scent i testing this one for 3 days, smells good and fancy, high quality and performance, imagine small piece of leather inside vanilla and almonds.. but if anyone love Vanilla save your money and buy Ani Nishane not same but for your money

Excellent blend of vanilla and almond. it's not that sweet and even we can say it's boozy. someone compare it with pegasus but it's much more sophisticated and not metallic. much more wearable as we can expect from LV.

My first impression: to me this is a soft vanilla and almond fragrance. A bit like Dior’s Hypnotic Poison or Confetto from Profumum Roma. Warm, soft and elegant.

Smells really good to me. People are hating for no reason. Smell alone is good. It's the price that makes people turn away.

Vanila for rich. It's expensive but the scent is what the worth of it.

I received a sample of Fantasmagory yesterday. It leans feminine and youthful. It is light, airy and ... pretty. A very linear, soft and delicate vanilla. It is not overly sweet or synthetic. It is very pleasant, but I do not like it as much as several other vanilla based fragrances such as Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille, Guerlain Vanille Planofolia Extrait, Guerlain Angelique Noire, Blndgrphy Vanilla Mudslide, Givenchy Enflamme, Les Eaux Primordiales Vanille Supermassive, or even Kayali Vanilla 28, which only costs $138.00 for 100 ml at full retail. You can buy four $138.00 100 ml bottles and a $29.00 10 mm travel spray of the fantastic Vanilla 28 for less money than one 100 ml bottle of Fantasmagory. And Vanilla 28 is significantly better. Fantasmagory wears very close to the skin. Longevity is excellent, but projection and sillage are below average, especially for an extrait. I am male and I wear a wide range of fragrances. I have 20+ feminine targeted fragrances but Fantasmagory is just a bit too feminine, immature and even a bit boring for me. When I first sprayed it, I anticipated that I would be thinking, "is it ok for me or is it only for my wife?" But as the pleasant, youthful scent hit my nose, I immediately said, "oh that’s a surprise, it’s for my daughter." I do think a guy can definitely wear Fantasmagory, it would just have to be the right guy in the right situation. It is not a deep, thick, rich, spicy, smoky, Oriental, or ambery vanilla. It is a light, airy, sweet, clean and bright vanilla. It makes me think of rock candy or the sugary clear sweet crystals on top of pastries and cookies. Think of a sweet almondy cookie with tiny crunchy sugar crystals sprinkled on top. If I had to compare it to anything, it would be Reserve En Afrique 1934 Vanille Mafonja. I expected to buy a bottle of Fantasmagory, but after wearing it all day and evening Tuesday, I am not planning on buying it. It is not bad, it is fairly good. But fairly good is just not good enough, especially at this price point. I urge you to definitely sample it before considering a purchase. I don’t think Fantasmagory is blind buy safe for anyone. I love Louis Vuitton fragrances and honestly I was tempted to blind buy it. Thank goodness I knew that a sample was already on its way when I saw that Fantasmagory was for sale on the US Louis Vuitton website Monday night (it was available for about 8 hours and then it was updated to unavailable / sold out). I am really looking forward to Ambre Levant. I think Fantasmagory could be fantastic layered with an Oriental, Gourmande, or Amber fragrance ... maybe with Ambre Levant. Or maybe I will layer my Ambre Levant with Kayali's Vanilla 28. 6/10 and a Fragrantica score of 3.85 from me.

I’ve had my decant for a few months now and have worn Fantasmagory several times. I stand by my original thoughts that this is a sweet, soft almond vanilla best suited to mild weather. It’s light wearing, very airy and wispy. While it lasts a decent amount of time on my skin (around 7 hours), it feels like a skin scent relatively quickly. I catch hints of it in the air as I move around, but they’re faint. I don’t think people are going noseblind to this- this wears differently in different conditions. I can smell it on myself (and get compliments) when I’m indoors in a controlled environment. But, if I wear it while out and about, it gets lost. It leaves a very faint scent on my clothes after wearing. This is so smooth and the sweetness is extremely well balanced. I very much enjoy this scent; it’s one of the more elegantly composed vanillas I’ve tried. I wish it had more heft and body. I could buy both VP21 and Fantasmagory to layer and still come out around the same price as Lost in Paris... It seems so reasonably priced now! 🤭

I got a sample from my SA before it’s released. Fantasmagory is an airy, light, easy going vanilla better suited to warm weather. I got some almond in the opening but very little ginger. I can’t pick out individual floral notes, but the texture is *slightly* powdery so maybe the floral is something like heliotrope. If there’s leather, it’s soft and suede-y, but I can’t really find it. On my skin it’s just super soft vanilla with a hint of almond. Very linear like most LVs. This is extremely light wearing- very little projection, a skin scent after 3 hours. I actually really enjoy the smell of this fragrance, but it’s so soft on my skin. There’s a fine line between elegant and understated and too light. This rides that line. It smells like I put on MoV La Fenice pour femme or THOO Ruby Red and then washed it off. Now I understand the name... Fantasma is ghost in Spanish and this is a wispy ghost of vanilla. Update: This did not last well on my clothes, very faint.

This is a much softer interpretation of Vanilla Powder Extrait, with a noticeably heavier emphasis on vanilla. To my nose, it isn’t particularly close to the original Vanilla Powder, which comes across as much harsher and more aggressive. The longevity is very good, and it wears beautifully over time. The price, however, is difficult to justify on performance alone—you’re largely paying for the name. That said, I do find myself wanting a full bottle. I love the presentation, especially the bottle and cap, and overall this is a more wearable and enjoyable take for those who prefer a smoother Vanilla Powder.

I like it. Is it worth the money? I mean... is any liquid really worth this amount? But then again, LV generally isn’t worth the money in my opinion. That said, I like this. It’s an easy wear. It smells good. My favorite part is the opening—feels like the yummiest and cleanest vanilla custard. Then it grows a bit deeper and more like a lighter sibling of Vanilla Powder (not mad at that as VP was too strong for me). It gets compliments. And it is a very smooth scent—blended well. It simply isn’t a $600 scent—but are any? You can decide.

Sampled it for a couple of days, it's a nice vanilla scent that, in my opinion, goes a bit to matiere premiere vanilla. Being Louis Vuitton one very timid as it stays close to the skin and its longevity Is quite average. I can see how they named it fantasmagory since it appears and disappears, it's like you become anosmic to it and then suddenly you feel it again. Very versatile, but weak and faint.

At the opening, the ginger and vanilla note sounded to me very similar to what I get in BTSO- Choco Loco. But once the fragrance fully settled on the skin, it became strikingly close to Qissa Delicious by Paris Corner 😅 Forgive me, fans of the brand! I spent a long time trying to figure out what it reminded me of so much and bingo! That’s exactly how my nose perceives it 👃

A very pleasant, refined vanilla — almost like a more elegant alternative to Dior Hypnotic Poison. It’s smooth, cozy, and beautifully blended, but the price is honestly ridiculous. I’d love to smell it on girls, but it’s way too expensive for me to justify buying for myself. The scent is mostly unisex, though. Vanilla works perfectly on men’s skin too, in my opinion.

This Louis Vuitton fragrance masterfully combines vanilla, almond and ginger, with ginger being a signature note in several LV scents. The vanilla really travels through in this well-balanced creation. Excellent longevity. A sublime composition that is elegant and delightful to wear.

i wont speak for longevity, but this is very straightforward, i couldn't really make anything of it other than a creamy and rich vanilla smell that you get with premium high quality vanilla extract, it's good, not 510 euros good

Fantasmagory gives me good vibes. I loved ginger and anise combination. In my opinion Fantasmagory deserves more than what it get. Little bit feminine but pretty weareable for men also

Nah This opens with vanilla and almond and the lightest of florals... and it just stays like that, its light and it stays close to the skin from start to finish. It does remind me of PDM Pegasus but more refined and missing the metallic note which imo makes pegasus special. Its also too simplistic and boring to warrant such a price. the longevity is good 7-8 hours with very intimate projection. 5/10

First impressions: It opens sweet; caramel, toffee, the eclair chocolate that I used to remember back in the days. I can imagine someone in their teens wearing this but I don’t know for what occasion. Not too sweet, but I have mixed feelings with this one. Definitely not something that makes me wanna reach back to the bottle, sample it and add on to the collection.

I get some vanilla and almond from this. Can’t pick up much else, but good god WHY is this a straight hit of alcohol to the nose?? It’s so alcohol smelling to me that it smells cheap. Smells like a vanilla hand sanitizer almost. Crazy they want $600+ for this fragrance. Bring back cactus garden and toss this out 😅

I am sure it's just me but this reminds a more refined version of Byredo's original Vanille Antique. I find this to be a perfect fall scent that is long lasting with pretty descent sillage.

It’s really pretty, you don’t smell leather note for those who don’t like leather. Nope it doesn’t smell like hypnotic poison or vanilla powder

The anise note is very dominant. It smells floral and unique but the anise is really overpowering.

This is a dupe of Target Mixbar's Coconut Palm No 8— but seriously this is not what I was expecting from LV. With names like eLVes, Fantasmagory, and Sun Song, these recent releases sounded intriguing but did not deliver. Specifically here I get a very basic body spray perfumistic vanilla, like a lotion your mom/sister probably used in 2013-16. It smells pleasant, just not USD$ 595. Back to my first note, if you like this but agree it is not worth the price, please find your way to Target and pickup the scent bar release from 2021. It has decent sillage and longevity and is only $19.99.

I know this is going to be a controversial opinion but I think this has to be one of the most boring vanilla fragrances I have ever smelled. This smells like every other vanilla and for the price tag, I would be expecting something unique. Such a shame, this is a miss for me.

i am very glad im able to spend my fragrance content earnings on fragrances because i would be PISSED if i worked a normal job and splurged on this. this is nauseating! it genuinely smells like vanilla + some industrial epoxy or something. it smells like warehouse chemicals plus vanilla. a lot of you are saying this smells like hypnotic poison but hypnotic poison CLEARS this by a mile. im genuinely so disappointed in this. LV finally drops a vanilla based scent and its this.... like??? come on. they could've made this so much better and instead they just drop vanilla scented super glue.

Oh Jacques... I didn't think any offering from this man could be called a scrubber, but as soon as I got home from my visit to LV today, I had to use dish detergent to scrub my arms, then an olive oil wipe to catch any remnants, but I can still smell Fantasmagory... Just awful. Smells like sunscreen in that Erba Pura way for me (so it could just be bad chemistry for me), mixed with essence of dead flowers in a plastic bag left out in the sun. I can't justify the price for most of the extraits range, but this... just no.

i winced, coughed, gagged, and almost threw up on my mothers joseph duclos diane L20 (which would’ve gotten my ass beat at my old age) in the middle of the louis vuitton boutique because of this absolutely abysmal fragrance. cant even believe louis vuitton released this, i smelled this in season as well. who would wear this??? i usually never write reviews for perfumes i dont own (because its really annoying on fragnatica) but jesus this scent sucks. smell it for yourself, its bad.

Bought this for my wife, absolute waste of money. It’s named appropriately though, shit is a ghost. A fresh application smells like a skin scent of a fragrance that was applied 10 hours ago. Zero projection. Zero longevity. It’s a nice smell... if you can catch it. I get that not every fragrance needs to nor should project like a beast, but they should last and you should be able to smell them when your nose is 3” away from the application spot 1 hour after applying.

This must have been formulated specifically for the US audience. Simply not my cup of tea. Linear milk powder on a Veramoss base, a missed opportunity, frankly. Not quite Cavallier, and certainly not Louis Vuitton DNA...

Many people like this, but the second I smelled it on my skin, I started gagging. It smells like a really strong baby powder mixed with random ginger and really bad anise notes, DONT RECOMMEND!!!

This shit is so unbelievably mid. Supposed to be the first gourmandesk vanilla for LV and it smells like vanilla scented sunscreen. Plus made my skin super oily.

At first it smells of bent plastic and hot rubber. After an hour or so it begins to smell really good.

Fantasmagory is a very beautiful airy almond fragrance with a delicate sweetness that makes this a crowd pleaser without being too gourmand. The leather and florals don’t project much on me or are perfectly gradient and remain almost transparent through the entire wear time; ghost like. Ginger adds an almost fresh sheen that makes this casual and unisex. That bottle looks amazing! In the almond realm, I would have preferred a marzipan type of almond for a playdoh like accord effect that Hypnoyic Poison or other almond fragrances have. Jo Malone Vanilla & Anise is an alternative (not dupe) to Fantasmagory but with a soft HP playdoh accord, it also has the same ephemeral lasting power but with a better price point. Some people aren’t keen to that playdoh effect so Fantasmagory would be a perfect almond fragrance in that case. But maybe the playdoh effect didn’t project on me as much as it did for other reviewers on here, which makes me a bit jealous. 🥲 I am currently obsessed with almond fragrances, especially the ones combined with anise and even though this is a gorgeous fragrance, it doesn’t stand out for me against other similar fragrances, but again, that is personal preference and doesn’t go against the beauty that this fragrance is. I am still adding this fragrance to my full bottle “One Day” wish list but not on my “ASAP” wish list.

Opening is very sweet, candy like. Almond forward and vanilla is definitely in the mix. On paper the vanilla is going to be the most forward, and on skin it reveals more of the gourmand almond thing. The scent is pleasant, leans fem, but anyone can wear. My only concern scent wise is that this smells very reminiscent of other vanillic skin care and body wash items. A little bit of cocoa butter vibes. There isn’t anything new going on here that is worth the splurge. Surprisingly I’m getting good projection for the first hour, but like others have said ISO e super is in here so that can make for a weird fragrance experience from a perceived longevity standpoint. I can imagine going anosmic to this really quick if you spray a lot or wear it frequently. Not to be harsh but this is a solid 4.5/10 at best and I’m being generous. Limited longevity (at least perceived) at a ghastly price.
