Fleur du Désert

OPENING: This fragrance opens with a bright, floral sweetness that brings to mind a rose-heavy profile, similar to Les Sables Roses. However, it quickly takes its own direction. The honeysuckle florals remain as the dominant note, standing out cleanly and distinctly without relying on darkness. There’s a subtle brooding undertone, like a soft, smoky, almost brooding presence yet it stays in the background, like roses blooming against the dark, windy dunes of fine, soft sand. It evokes an image of flowers coming to life on a night in a cloud-covered desert, where the harsh environment contrasts with the delicate beauty of the blossoms. The florals, honey, and a faint touch of oud and smoke create a sophisticated balance, offering a cleaner, smoother, and more refined version of what you might expect from a fragrance like Les Sables Roses. DRYDOWN: The fragrance remains fairly linear as it dries, with the honeysuckle note sticking around but slowly morphing into something more resinous and lightly smoky. The florals stay present, never losing their dominance, but now with a darker, mysterious edge. After around six hours, the smokiness becomes more noticeable and blends beautifully with the florals. This gives way to a deeper, more enigmatic scent that feels both warm and smoky, but also floral and fresh. Around 7.5 hours in, the scent shifts. No longer is it a floral-forward fragrance with a smoky backdrop; instead, it becomes a gorgeous blend of both, the smokey, ambery florals now harmonize seamlessly. The drydown from this point on is reminiscent of Ombre Nomade, but here the leather has been replaced with florals, creating a more elegant version of that smokey scent profile with the musks of leathers of ombre nomade being replaced by faint flowers. On the skin, the fragrance lasts well beyond 12 hours, and even after that, it remains detectable with a faint smokiness and traces of florals, lingering faintly even up to 24 to 30 hours, especially on warm, veiny skin.

I am a criminal when it comes to not testing out samples. 93% of my fragrance collection has been blind purchases and thankfully it has worked out REALLY well for me. I have had a sample of Fleur du Désert since February and due to being bored one day I decided to collect all my samples and just give them a spray. I was so freaking happy smelling this. I showered and wore it to bed - the next morning it was still very prominent on my body and I don't mean faintly. I couldn't stop thinking about it so I purchased it in 200ml lol. I have made the mistake of not purchasing an LV fragrance in the 200ml and I won't make that mistake again. I love this and I swear it's my new signature scent lol I love this fragrance! At first spray & sniff you get a nice burst of this almost light and fresh scent. It's sweet and you can detect the odd but it isn't heavy at all. The Orange blossom and the honey in my opinion keep this fragrance light and bright enough to wear this during the summer months!

Perfectly unisex to me, though I see why most see it as feminine leaning. Someone told me I that I smelled like a spa/massage parlour which is probably the prevalent jasmine note, but to me, I notice honey and rose on top of the jasmine. I don't really get cinnamon or strong oud at all. If I had to describe it to someone who hasn't smelled it, it would be like if a rose turkish delight was dipped into honey and then smelled alongside a bouquet of fragrant flowers and jasmine. It is sweet to my nose but surprisingly, it wears lighter than most warm sweet fragrances. It's not a warm weather scent by any means, but it is perfectly wearable during all times of the year, just maybe not in 30C+ weather. I get good performance at about 6-8 hours. Absolutely love this underrated scent. Pros: - Addictive honey rose jasmine - Unique - Compliments Cons: - Maybe a little bit suffocating in static air beyond 3 sprays. 8.8/10

This is my first Louis Vuitton fragrance to try and when I first sprayed this I was massively underwhelmed but ten to fifteen minutes into it, it started shapeshifting into a deep sultry enigma of a fragrance with honey as the heroine. In a blink, it is joined by Oud and the florals. There is this underlying depth that I don't feel is coming from the cinnamon. Perhaps, it's the Ambrette in combination with the Oud which I am not the greatest fan of but here it's so light and barely there without being overpowering. I am skeptical that this might be the best offering from LV but it's a great one to have as a light Oud fragrance that is sort of a cross between a Western scent aesthetic and Middle Eastern. It is not dedicatedly either. It is however masterfully blended with all the fragrance notes playing together a beautiful symphony. I will be enjoying this pretty juice sample while it lasts!

Smooth and beautiful, Fleur du Désert opens with a soft and sweet mix of honey, orange blossom and jasmine before it settles into a softer rose/oud blend. I can still detect some sweetness from the honey and the jasmine once it settles but much more subdued. The oud in Fleur du Désert is mainly woody, a bit smoky and slightly animalic when you take a good sniff. Compared to the oud in Les Sables Roses and Ombre Nomade it is much less prominent on skin which I absolutely prefer - if you are looking for very prominent oud, this is not for you. I wish the gorgeous notes from the opening stayed longer on skin (as they do on paper) because they are absolutely beautiful, but don’t be fooled by the opening as this fragrance dries down to a rose/oud blend. Pleasant, classic scent which can be used day to night. I rarely enjoy oud but it works for me in this sweet, floral blend!

Disappointed like the others here? No. Love it? Yes! Is it a perfumery masterpiece? No, it feels a bit superficial and mass oriented. On the other hand, I feel this is a very nice, sexy feminine fragrance with honey (in non aggressive way) and nice floral mix where creamy jasmine kicks in (not as direct as in let's say J'adore Le Jasmin). The head is pretty strong, I cannot smell any cinnamon (thanks God), later it settles to more creamier, subtle with a hint of the oriental fragrances and it lasts pretty much the whole evening (feels to me like this is something Middle Eastern woman would wear to feel European)..but it is true that after some time it stops to develop and it stays where it was. Not something you expect from 300 dollar plus fragrance....but still if someone is willing to sell some vial, decant, I would be happy :) I am Europe based.

Let's all forget the insane price of this for one hot second. This perfume... just wow. I absolutely fell in love with this from the moment I smelled it at the LV boutique and knew I had to buy a bottle right away. The oud note in this is very light compared to what I'm used to, which could be a good thing if you want to get into oud fragrances. This is also one of the few honey fragrances that I don't find too sickeningly sweet. I find this incredibly elegant, luxe and definitely one of the most unique, yet flattering fragrances in my collection. HOWEVER, a friend of mine did comment that I smelled like straight hairspray when I wore this :,) It hurt the moment I swiped my card at the boutique, but two years later it's still the pride and joy of my collection.

My favourite from Louis Vuitton ♥️ I absolutely adore this perfume : i learnt from this perfume that honey is my preferred version of “sweet” scent compared to vanilla, found this to be more interesting, subtle and balanced. Rose & white floral comes together with the sweet honey and then it dried down into amber-y musk with slightest hint of rose still lingering. And you wonder where the wood is, it is there all the time but it’s so subtle and it’s not the star of the show ( it’s not supposed to be) but it definitely makes it much more rounded & interesting. Great performance and perfect compliment magnet : this & Attrape-Reves are my go-to perfumes lately and people will not leave me alone. Perfect for every occasion and season ( imo). Great unisex perfume.

Absolutely stunning! The opening is powdery sweetness. Honey and cinnamon are beautifully blended and not really distinguishable notes. This honey smells very natural and almost edible, not synthetic at all. I get mostly sweet orange blossom as the main floral with soft rose supporting it. I do get oud in the base; it’s soft, warm, powdery and utterly feminine. The oud paired with ambrette is very femme fatale sexy in the most unassuming way. The synthetic quality of the ambroxan keeps the scent from becoming too vintage or mature. Better suited to fall and winter. I get 7-9 hours of wear time. This is completely unique and worth the price for me. I imagine wearing this with a black dress sitting in quiet, dimly lit cocktail bar.

This is a fantastic winter or autumnal scent, but it is enormous in the heat. I wore this on a warm, late summer / early autumn day to a coffee shop/bakery. After I ordered my beverage and was seated, a bakery employee emerged from the kitchen to inquire which perfume I was wearing. My perfume overshadowed the coffee smells, the bakery smells, all the way to the kitchen in the back of the coffee shop/bakery...! Now, I am sometimes an oversprayer, but I am not with deeper and darker fragrances of higher concentrations. Needless to say I was both shocked and impressed by the projection. As a result, I typically sport this in colder weather. It's an amazing perfume but maybe too pricey to be sharing with an entire cafe. Ha! ;-)

!!only sampled it once in store this one is going on my vision board, i cant believe a perfume with oud AND rose was able to win me over like this. the mix of delicate florals and syrupy honey, all in front of a mild and comforting oud which rounds out the brightness of the former notes. the opening is brighter and it gets deeper as it dries down, otherwise it doesnt seem to evolve very much. the way i see it, this is a truly opulent and elegant scent that doesnt try to completely smother you in expensive notes, instead opting for a smooth and harmonious blend. leans feminine but overall unisex, to be worn in formal occasions. one of the few perfumes of this style that i can actually see myself wearing.

I only have a 2 ml sample bottle of Fleur du Desert so far, but I've tested it at the Louis Vuitton store a few times too, and sprayed it on myself, so I think I'm familiar with it. I've tried that, Ombre Nomade, Les Sables Roses, and also Nuit de Feu, but I don't have a sample or bottle of Nuit de Feu yet. I love all of the Louis Vuitton fragrances that I've tried so far, and this one is no different. I'm not sure if I will buy a full bottle of Fleur du Desert, but I really want to get Nuit de Feu. There's just something about that one that I love. But I've enjoyed all of the LV oud fragrances so far. Fleur du Desert has a nice, sweet aroma that the other ones I've tried don't have.

At first introduction, I dismissed this fragrance. I retried it a few months later and was mesmerized. It has now become my very favorite fragrance and my signature scent. I have quite a few fragrances and this sticks out to me as beautiful, opulent, bold, unique, elegant and sexy. I think it is definitively unisex. I am a male and generally speaking I do not like fragrances with a rose note on me, or on anybody else. But this 🌹 rose is heaped in honey and amber and is just magnificent, in my humble opinion. I am not the most seasoned fragrance hobbyist but I definitely know what I like, and I absolutely love Fleur Du Desert.

Cousin had a bottle and let me test it. Smells like floral desert accords with that " subtle " oud which smelled delicious on my skin along with that sweet honey. Shame I sprayed it on too close to bed and had to wipe it off since I couldn't sleep with that scent lingering. Very potent, one spray on the wrist had the oudy floral scent lingering for a while. I'd love to give it a full weeks wear, as the smell in the air was captivating and different. Definitely a unique, special occasion scent that a guy could pull off, or a woman who has her shit together that would hold the door open for you, just so you can smell her. 8/10

Contradicting a few here and after testing this fragrance out I can't help but disagree with some of these reviews. In my opinion, this fragrance is up there as one of my favorites from this house. For me, it comes across as unisex. It does not perform as powerfully as Ombre Nomade for example, but it does perform well overall with good longevity on my skin. I can see this working well in warmer environments. I would prefer the oud to be more distinct, however, I do love the floral notes which shows its differences when comparing it to the other middle eastern scents in the LV collection.

This is a very pretty fragnance! Definately very rose forward. What you get initially is a strong big, fat bulgarian rose smell. And just when you think its too much rose, the oud and honey start to creep in. And you realise, oh i might just loooove this! Its got the MFK Oud Satin Mood DNA. So you def.wont be needing both, unless rose/oud frags are your thing, and you want them all! I can see guys wearing this easily, and although its unisex that rose/honey opening makes it slightly more feminine leaning in my opinion. In any case, well done LV. This is nice!

I recently re-sampled this fragrance, and it stands out as one of the best rose scents available. The opening features a powerful blend of rose, jasmine, and oud, with a noticeable funky-indolic quality likely from the jasmine, although oud also contributes to this effect. As it develops, a sweetness emerges, which they claim is honey, though it's not listed in the official notes—maybe it's something else? Regardless, the dry down is my favorite part, where the indole fades, leaving a woody, white floral rose. It’s an undeniably beautiful scent.

Fleur Du Desert might be the most complex and mysterious scent I have ever smelled. Not complex chemically, but in the vibe it gives. A beautiful floral, feminine scent that blurs the line between the masculine oud scent. I specifically am not able to smell the cinnamon in it. The opening is very sweet but dries down to a spicy floral sweet oud. For me it sits on the skin for more than 12 hours easily, on clothes even months, and radiates very good.

I loved this perfume when i went to the Lv store i neeeed to buy this perfume one day, if i ever get a girlfriend ill need her to bathe in this perfume that's how much i love this its like a rose lightly covered in honey and the oud is to die for the combination of it all brings a tear to my eye. i need to buy this one day, just not soon since I'm a broke Comounty college student that can barely afford refills on the perfumes he already has.

Warm inviting but largely unoriginal woody floral that has an alluring quality to it. The perfume opens briefly with notes of honey and cinnamon before moving to its firm floral heart of rose, jasmine and orange blossom. As the perfume settles, one can detect oud, ambrette and an ambroxan like molecule. The simply constructed feminine leaning scent has moderate to strong sillage and very good longevity. Redundant but potent. Enjoy!

The honey, cinnamon and jasmine really make this oud/rose fragrance shine. If you aren’t a fan of powdery fragrances you probably won’t like this, but if you do you’ll appreciate it. I would rank this slightly above Ombré Nomade because of its wearability, even though ON is a little more impressive from an overall perfumery standpoint. I have a handful of oud/rose fragrances and this stands out

Just received my 200ml bottle - go big or go home eh! I do not usually like Honey themed perfumes (tobacco honey, addictive vibrations - big big nonos for me) but what I like here is Honey doesn’t take a centre stage here, but is rather placed to round aoud and rose, and the result is this truly addictive floral bouquet. The dry down is really where the money is at, simply stunning!!!!

We just need to pretend Nuit de Feu doesnt exist because every frag in the LV Oud line hits it out of the ballpark for me. I've picked up a bottle of Ombre Nomade. If Les Sables Roses wasnt perfect to layer it with Id be getting a bottle of Fleur du Desert over Les Sables Roses. Fleur du Desert stands better on its own. I love LSR but it is fairly one dimensional.

At first it was no for me, but after a few days i understood i need it. The negative reviews might be because this perfume needs HEAT. It smells sweet and jasmin is there when its a bit cold, but when its 37 outside the oud starts to work😍 it becomes spicy, sweet with floral notes and smells expensive. Got this in Dubai, perfect for this weather.

Sweet smooth elite jasmine with a sexy musky oud dry down. So addictive. The only LV frag I want and will most likely be my oud scent of choice. As a white floral lover who is tired of the rose ouds, this is just right up my ally. It's got great longevity but soft projection which makes it much more wearable and versatile to me.

Ok so the beauty for me is the dry down. I love how the oud starts to take a backseat and the florals and honey start to shine. I bought this blind felt disappointed but I’m glad I have this in my fragrance collection. We will be best friends in the fall and winter.

To me this is a softer and tamer version of Ombre Nomade, with flowers and all, but all the while remain unisex. Edit. It was skin scent on my wrist after 9hrs. Had to shower so didn’t know if it would have lasted longer.

Attractive sweet & floral feminine perfume. The oud is there but is more of a secondary note and doesn't stink up the room. Overall, the most wearable scent from LV oriental oud perfume line.

This is such a beautiful unique spend on OUD with honey and cinnamon. This is not over powering but just right. This is the OUD fragrance that a woman can wear daily. I’m in love!

In my opinion, this is a fantastic fragrance. However!! It's a safer Ombre Nomade and why would you want to be safe if you're going with that scent profile?

Jasmine’s very strong, paired very nice with honey because it makes me smell less like a grandma, mature feminine scent, not really my type sadly

This is a gorgeous perfume. If you can stop by an LV boutique, check this out alongside Symphony from LV. This is a must-try to must-have.

Roses de mai fragrance world if you after something similar.

I blind bought this fragrance as I was very curious, but the reviews (the very limited ones) were all very conflicting and I could never get a good idea as to how the scent was. This review is largely due to that, so I hope this helps somebody. This review is based off of my skin. I want to start by mentioning that I do get both the air freshener and the barnyard smell as reviews have mentioned below me, but these are both fleeting and last no more than 10 seconds on me. I want to say that I own Ombre Nomade, have sold Les Sables Roses (too dusty and dry for my liking), and I couldn’t get on with Nuit De Feu. So I have a general idea of this collection. This isn’t as heavy compared to Ombre Nomade or even Les Sables Roses, but I wouldn’t say it’s light or fresh. I don’t detect every note in the breakdown, either. I largely get rose, jasmine, a hint of orange blossom here and there, oud, and maybe a little cinnamon. However, I think the oud and cinnamon adds more of a dusty nuance to the fragrance more than anything else. This isn’t as dusty as Les Sables Roses, but it still has that dusty feel, which makes a lot of sense considering the name of the fragrance. I actually find Ombre Nomade a little sweeter due to the raspberry note. I can’t say I have smelled anything that similar to it so I can’t compare it to anything else. Although I know a reviewer below compared it to Voulez Vous Coucher Avec Moi by Kilian, and I can safely say that I see no comparison between the two, at least not on my skin. Edit: I want to highlight that as I sampled it on my skin yesterday I got no sweetness, none whatsoever, and the barnyard smell comes and goes throughout the lifetime of the fragrance. It’s only fleeting and faint but it is there. You sorta catch it and it goes. I don’t mind this as I kind of like that barnyard smell. I call into question Xerjoff Al-Khatt - how gorgeous (it’s not as strong as this though). I wore it to work on a relatively hot day here in the UK (23°C). I received a compliment from a woman who said it smelled very Middle Eastern, and that she could pick up on the oud and rose. She wanted to know what I was wearing so I told her. It’s a bit of a weird one, I find it neither here nor there. It doesn’t overly excite me, yet I don’t dislike the fragrance, either. Sorry for the long review. I’ll keep sampling it to decide whether I keep it.

FLEUR DU DÉSERT/ Honey, Cinnamon,Rose, WhiteFlorals, Oud, Musk, A very familiar oud-rose floriental perfume with the distinc DNA of Jacques Cavallier's signature. On my skin the opening is all about Rose & Oud, I don't get any white forals, The sweetness of honey calms down after 20 minutes, then there is this beautiful dance of Rose, Oud & Musk. If Oud Rosewood of Dior and Portait of a Lady of Frederic Malle make a lovechild, Fleur du Desert will be that baby, The lasting power is amazing and I could smell it at arm's length for the first 5-6 hours , until it becomes skin scent which lasts overnight. On m bff's skin, however, was another story, Honey, white florals, Oud and a clean musk , much lighter and brighter and more playfull on her skin. Very nice perfume for getting to know orientals and oud fragrances. I was tempted to order a bottle but I have so many oud/rose combos in my collection and this one is yet not unique enough to pull the trigger, The price for a 100 ml is 320€ . @ladylovesperfumes

I'm not no expert, I am new to this scent life so you know take my review with grain of salt. The opening scent before it dries was really nice, but also when its on you and smell it directly on your clothes its still nice too. The scent from the bottle definitely smelled more neutral and when its on you as well. However for some reason smelling the sillage as a third party it's definitely more feminine, like to point where it should be classified as a women's perfume, it not for men at all. Also still as a third party its still fairly nice but like the other reviewer said does kind of give old lady vibes. A positive is that it last days on your clothes, you could still smell it more subtly 3 days later, haven't worn it on skin but probably last what the product states since the clothes part was true. So yea to conclude definitely should be classified as strictly women and has some sort of swindling deceptive concoction going on but you cannot trickery me LV

Love Love Love it!! Is it sweet? Yes. Is it floral? Yes. Is it Oud-y? Yes, but not excessively. Is it worth the $? To me, yes. Surprisingly, on my skin, the honey accord comes out beautifully and the Jasmine is magnificent. The Oud is there, floating around but held at bay by all the other notes. This isn’t as “oriental” as Les Sables Roses or Ombre Nomade or Nouveau Monde but i appreciate it nonetheless. A beautiful rendition of florals with sweetness and luminosity...✨✨✨ I hope to have a bottle of this beauty very soon!!

Very nice white floral fragrance with a hint of dirt/skank. The orange blossom reminds me of the new MFK APOMs top notes, but instead of amber and vanilla at the base, it is replaced with amber and oud. Fragrance is a simple blend but very well executed, Projection is massive and can be headache inducing. Longevity is also very good. 1 spray on my sleeve lasted 10 hours from 10-15cm away, catching whiffs whenever I move my arm. Test before buying.

This fragrance is so sexy and elegant I see myself wearing this when dressed up for a special occasion I’m not usually a rose-oud fan but I love jasmine and I find this is balanced out nicely by the white florals and honey. Sometimes I get a medicinal like smell from this which reminds me of Vert Malachite. But obviously that’s way more of a fresh clean scent compared to this. Overall I get a powdery, sweet, warm floral with a hint of oud.

as a woman i was looking for a louis vuitton frag that was not so “pink” & was heavier, more oriental but feminine. this is heavy & oriental but not feminine at all. this smells like a man. a manly masculine man. it smells good & yes i’d want my man to smell like this but if u wear this as a woman you’ll smell like a dude. your husband will think u just got done cuddling another guy haha. a rich guy

If you want to smell like luxury, this is it. A sweet floral elegant smell with a nice projection that’ll have people wondering who you are and what’s that smell. The dry down is the best part where the oud really shines and turns more masculine. Not for everyone as it is more feminine but a very luxurious floral smell with a hint of oud. Luxury in a bottle! Warm, sweet but not cloying, and refined. Honey, white florals and rose. Tad more feminine than unisex. Definitely a compliment getter for sure. I can't figure out when I'd wear it so not worth full bottle splurge for me at all. To my nose, it's also very very reminiscent of Lady Million (the octagonal-ish gold bottle) with added rose.

Not for me at all. But this is my sister-in-law’s favorite fragrance and it smells like a beautiful baby powdery honey smell with trace amounts of oud and rose floral scents... It’s definitely strong, and lasts a long time, and transforms the longer you wear it. Perfect to put on the back of your neck to make people’s heads turn!

Beautiful at first, florals, honey but not overly sweet, a bit of oud, so very beautiful and sophisticated! Unfortunately, on my skin, this turns into a powdery mess after a couple of hours...still nice but way too powdery... A like but not a love, sadly...
