Nouveau Monde

It almost felt like a confession to admit to myself that I love Ombre Nomade as much as I do. I hated it for months - on me and especially on others - and then it grew on me like the first tender fingers of the dawn across the periphery of the night skies. Before I knew it, the sun was well and truly up for me and Ombre Nomade and it is one of my all time favourite fragrances now. It is one of those few that I sometimes sniff from the bottle when I walk into my bedroom just to smell it, without spraying it on myself. Just smelling it to smell it. Proper fragrance collectors reading this will be able to relate. It is one of those scent profiles where I don't know why I love it or why I am addicted to it. So when I heard about Nouveau Monde - specifically that it is a "more wearable version of ON" I had to go to Dubai Mall to check it out. Unlike OM, NM was an instant love. It is indeed lighter and more wearable but has the ON DNA on display all the way. The heady combo of the animalic, super high quality oud and the redolent leather, lifted by the rose in the background is all there. Whereas ON has the raspberry running through it making it go a little sour at first (not in a bad way but it can be challenging for some), NM has vanilla, patchouli and these resinous amber accords in it adding a sweetness that stops the cacao from going too bitter and dark. The fruit in NM comes from some blackcurrants in the base notes. Eyes closed, I drifted off right there in the shop, carried away by the way this smell sings to me. When I opened them the shop assistant was staring at me with a look of surprise on her face. Before I could say anything she remarked: "You really like that, don't you? I see it in your face." She was spot on. I do love it. I really, really do. Fast forward a couple of weeks to Doha airport for my flight to London and it was one of the most satisfying shop purchases I've ever done for a fragrance. There is something to be said for really wanting a fragrance and having to wait a few weeks until you can go buy it, rather than just idly sniffing some testers, picking out a couple and then buying them. I got to the gate for my flight and couldn't resist a quick spritz before boarding. Exactly in the same way ON does for me, I found myself addicted to sniffing my wrists when I have this on. It just sings to me. I cannot explain to you why. If I had to describe it to you, I would say that NM is Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud taking the core DNA of Ombre Nomade and sweetening it up in a way that takes it in an almost minerally direction, quite apart from the resinous, dark textures of the woodgrain, oudy Ombre Nomade. The result is the daylight to ON's night, its light to its dark. It is every bit as strong and long-lasting as Ombre Nomade but fresher and doesn't leap off you in resinous clouds the way its dark master forebear does. The projection is there but it is less forceful, less aggressive somehow. Neither are compliment monsters as they are both a little too polarising but both smell wonderful enough to me to the point where if I was the only person on the planet who liked them and the other 7.999999999 billion-odd people hated them, I'd still wear them and they'd both still be amongst the favourites I have across my entire collection. Nouveau Monde is different enough to Ombre Nomade to stand up on its own and honestly I'm amazed more people aren't taking about this fragrance. The term "masterpiece" is banded around too much in these hype-addicted short term times but that is absolutely what this fragrance is. That this is so slept on, certainly in comparison to Ombre Nomade, is, along with the inexplicable adulation and hype that Pacific Chill gets, one of the great mysteries of modern perfumery to me. I simply cannot get my head around it. Ombre Nomade is olfactory art. It was and is more than a fragrance; it is a state of mind and an evocative glimpse into something profoundly different to how most of us live. It is proud to be a bit challenging for most. Nouveau Monde is taking that art and its thinking and making it into a ridiculously wearable, complex and indulgent daily wearer fragrance that pays homage to its parent but does not copy it. My latest addition to the collection is Nouveau Monde, and honestly, it’s delicious. After owning several LV scents and sampling the rest, I finally pulled the trigger on this one because it fills a gap in the lineup: a truly autumn–winter fragrance that’s far more wearable than the darker, smokier Ombre Nomade. The first hit of oud instantly took me back to the Maison Crivelli oud series; Stallion, Maracuja, and especially Oud Cadenza. In fact, Nouveau Monde shares more than just oud with Cadenza: there’s cinnamon, saffron, cacao, caramel, vanilla, and a subtle patchouli undertone that creates a familiar warm&spiced sweetness. The two fragrances definitely echo each other, not only by scent but also by longevity, projection, and sillage. That said, Nouveau Monde is one of the most underrated and overlooked Louis Vuitton releases. It never gets the hype, but it deserves far more appreciation. While many people try to pass Imagination, Météore, Pacific Chill, Afternoon Swim, and Symphony as “all-season,” let’s be real: they are fresh, citrus-driven warm-weather scents. Nouveau Monde is their opposite, not fresh, not cooling, but warm, sweet, cozy, and enveloping, perfect for cold fall winds and winter nights. If you imagine real oud being refined, smoothed, and elegantly blended into an amber gourmand profile, that’s exactly what this fragrance delivers. It’s beautifully crafted, undeniably unisex, though the first hour or two can come off a bit strong and slightly masculine before settling into its plush, comforting warmth. Performance is solid: strong projection and sillage for the first several hours, with 8+ hours of longevity on my skin. Verdict: Nouveau Monde is a standout in my LV lineup. Distinct from most of their fresh leaning creations, gorgeously composed, and undeniably high quality. Is it blind-buy safe? Absolutely not. But if you enjoy Oud Cadenza, chances are you’ll fall head over heels for this one. Update 1: After 9.5 Hours of Wear It’s been nine and a half hours since I applied six sprays early this morning, and Nouveau Monde is still very much alive on my skin. Colleagues walking into my office keep commenting on the scent, mostly picking up that rich oud–leather combination that defines the dry-down. What surprises me most is that the fragrance is still projecting at about an arm’s length nearly ten hours in, something I rarely experience with many other LV releases. Overall, this is impressive performance by Louis Vuitton standards, both in longevity and projection, reaffirming that Nouveau Monde is one of the house’s sleeper powerhouses. Update 2: After 12 Hours of Wear It's been fading by now but after 12 hours, i can still smell it on my skin. This is amazing.

Yes similar to ombre nomade but just because both have that same ‘oud’ note with a leathery note vibe. Ombre nomade is darker more smoky and has the raspberry note which nouveau monde doesnt in fact nouveau monde i would say its the more ‘gourmand’ version of ombre nomade i would own both since they work for different things yea similar but both unique in their own way in nouveau monde i find the ‘cacao’ note more predominant like a dry cacao smell similar to the cacao powder used in baking this also adds a slight caramel and sweet smell that for example ombre nomade doesnt have This is deff 10 times easier to wear fragrance than ombre nomade... but this is deff weaker with ombre nomade i can get performance of 2 days no joke and fill any room the first 15 hours with this is maybe 16hrs performance and 5 hours proyections still a beast but nothing like his older brother But i do like more this scent profile than ombre nomade one, love both but this one is just more my style since i love sweet gourmands... not exactly a gourmand or cloying sweetness but a smoky dark sweetness... elegance and quality at its finest! Is this like tuscan leather? No, i think tuscan leather can compare more with ombre nomade rather than nouveau monde... and still tuscan leather has its differences i do like tuscan leather more also than ombre nomade and nouveau monde together... but thats just my taste all 3 are top tier fragrances Is it like onekh from bvlgari? Similar but not exactly again, i do think onekh is more similar to nouveau monde than what tuscan leather is to ombre nomade... onekh is a leathery scent but also has that ‘sweetness’ not as dark as nouveau monde but brighter, leather is more prominent on onekh and the spices that onekh has i get mostly a cinnamon stick spice sweetened... i like onekh a lot its on my wish list but i like nouveau monde more since it think it has more developing and onekh is more simple straight to the point less ‘sexy’ you could say Similar to oud satin mood? Not at all but there is that same vibe that you get from satin mood in nouveau monde dont know what is it maybe the rose? Listen both are super different smells but if you have smelled both and smell nouveau monde while thinking of satin mood i think you’ll get what i mean Solid fragrance prob my next buy from LV 9.5/10

My pet peeve right now is "gratuitous fruiting," i.e. using a fruit note to unnecessarily sweeten oud fragrances (and usually tossing in jammy rose to boot) to enhance the oud scent's approachability and to make it smell better on test strips. Tuscan Leather does it and so does Louis Vuitton's Ombre Nomad, among so many others. While those two fragrances aren't bad at all, when fruity sweetness shows up in a rose and oud fragrance it just feels so obligatory and thoughtless. Anyway, I love Nouveau Monde because it smells great and lacks gratuitous fruit. It is therefore interesting in a way most designer oud scents aren't. The opening is heavy on cardamom (which ought to be in the notes pyramid) with hints of saffron and a briefly fecal oud. Almost immediately, the roughness in the oud disappears and the cardamom slowly fades. This progression allows the saffron to shine in a way that is reminiscent of Aramis' underloved and sadly discontinued Calligraphy Saffron. After 15-30 minutes rose emerges, but the rose is not very sweet. It works exceptionally well with the saffron. As the heart notes get going in ernest, a delightfully subtle interplay between patchouli and cacao works to undergird the now pronounced, smooth Western oud. There are some wood notes in the base along with a vanilla note that lends a sweet amber accord to the leather forward base. This fragrance is incredibly refined, luxurious smelling and has great longevity and moderate projrction. The sillage of Nouveau Monde is among the best in the Western designer oud offerings I have smelled (FWIW-I now own more than 20 such designer ouds along with a similar number of niche bottles and several Middle-Eastern ouds as well. I've been on a huge oud kick since fall 2020). Bottom line: this is a really great, interestingly atypical oud fragrance and the more I wear it, the more I discover in it. Bottle and presentation is LV mass market luxury and seems appropriate to the price point. The atomizer is very good. Definitely worth seeking out a sample if you can. Worth the price? For me, definitely; you may feel otherwise. Highly recommended.

Oh my.. Unlike others, I don't get much of the soft drydown of this fragrance, or any softness whatsoever. I don't smell much of that sweet vanilla people are talking about. Instead this smells like the most luxurious, refined and somehow perfectly balanced bonfire to me. As if you were burning LV bags sprayed with the most beautiful fragrances and you couldn't care less because money is no issue for you. Not only that, but it's also super potent on me. Half a spray lasted me an entire day easily, without ever becoming too weak. This fragrance is absolutely unique, not only in the LV lineup but also in what's out there at the moment - niche excluded. I get something that slightly reminds me of Gucci Guilty Absolute but it's so different at the same time.. it smells much more rounded, oud-ish and burnt, while Gucci just smells very leathery, almost medicinal. Not only does this impress with performance but also with uniqueness. However, I don't think this is for lighthearted people who just want a pleasant perfume in a beautiful bottle. This will not get you crazy amount of compliments, nor will it only draw positive attention. Those who recognize what a great work of art this is, will tell you. It's harsh, it's strong and it's unique, but it's certainly not for everyone so sample before you buy! Before trying this, I expected a nice, soft and friendly scent because of the orange bottle. However, I do believe that not only the orange suits this very well because of the autumn-ish theme with the fire, but I also believe the name is absolutely perfect. I can not even begin to explain how absolutely amazing this fragrance is. This is exactly what "by the fireplace" should have been. There, I said it.

Stunning oud fragrance! Nouveau Monde opens loud with an intense animalic phase that doesnt stray into barnyard or unpleasant territory, but does teeter right on the edge of being dirty and is somewhat provocative. The oud is joined by a lowkey dark cacao, not overly sweet, a perfect balance is found between the oud, cacao and a leathery sweet saffron. These three notes form the basis for the fragrance, and while they remain linear, extra layers are added along the drydown such as a smoky incense, a creamy lightly gourmand patchouli, a light aqueous rose and a fruity flourish. Very wearable for such a bold fragrance full of character, ive never felt self conscious wearing it. Imbues a feeling of confidence, maturity and of being well put together. Ombre Nomade grabs the headlines, i have it, i like it a lot, in my opinion Noveau Monde is the true star of the LV lineup! There is no perceptible difference in quality of ingredients between the two. Nouveau Monde tones down the sweetness and rose and amps up the sexuality and bold character of oud. They are of course both gorgeous but NM is far more interesting and unique. Smells nothing like Tuscan Leather or Promise, the leather here is not new car leather, i think it is a textural association to leather more so than the smell. Performance using around 8 sprays is fantastic, i stopped counting after 9 hours and it was projecting the entire time, as in it never became a skin scent.. This is a winner!

Firstly, i was suprised at how clean smelling and fresh this was compared to my other Leather/Oud scents that i own (Tuscan Leather, Ombre Leather, Oud Wood, Ombre Nomad). Nouveau Monde is probably my favourite right next to Tuscan Leather and Oud Wood but perhaps a bit more versatile. This reminds me of a luxury mall and smells literally like money and a high quality new leather with a bit of freshness/fruityness in the background. I Can see how some would call this scent challenging, polarising or animalistic but i don't get much of that. For those that compare it to Ombre Nomade, i get it but its still its own fragrance. I think Ombre Nomade is a bit more in your face and more middle eastern with a rose and inscencey type vibe. Rose isnt really my thing so if you dont like heavy rose and thicker feeling fragrances you may like this better. 100% worth getting your nose on. This would be a good introduction into leather/oud fragrance if you don't have any in your collection and want to give something different a try. Women can pull this off but imo its more masculine leaning. Suitable most seasons just dont overspray when its warmer. It is beast mode performance for me easy 10 hours and can smell on clothes the next day. Projects well too but doesnt fill the entire room and choke people out. Masterfully composed and criminally underrated. Solid 9.5/10

This is absolutely stunning, I love it! Pure magic. Easily one of the best Louis Vuitton fragrances. It’s got that oriental touch, leather, oud, rose bla bla.. but at the same time, there’s this incredible cocoa note and a deep, tropical freshness. That contrast makes it so unique, and honestly, it’s very much in line with LV’s DNA. It smells new and different. Despite being incredibly longlasting and noticeable, it’s actually light, airy, and effortless. No heaviness, no dark or overpowering masculinity. I really don’t get people who call this a men’s fragrance.. it’s absolutely unisex! And this isn’t some old-school heavy oriental perfume meant for rich grannies at the opera or old men playing golf etc, it’s vibrant, modern, and full of life just like all of Jacques Cavallier’s work for Louis Vuitton. It’s got that youthful energy, and it’s insanely addictive. In tropical heat, it somehow blends perfectly with Louis Vuitton’s fresher scents just as sexy and just as captivating. You just want to keep smelling it. I especially love wearing it in sub/tropical heat in Australia and Asia. BUT 1-2 sprays max! Some people go nuts, drenching themselves in 10 sprays of a strong perfume, and then complain that they smell like a sweaty pig under the scorching sun. Just don’t be a pig! take care of yourself and everything will be fine...

For a designer house, LV makes some fantastic fragrances and I'm glad I picked this one up. I did the smart thing and purchased a decant before going all in on an over-priced bottle. I sprayed it once on the back of my hand and let my OCD kick in. The opening.....very challenging. My parents had season tickets for the Milwaukee Brewers growing up and my mom would always boil brats in a Crock Pot full of beer and onions to tailgate before the games. The opening immediately reminded me of the smell of brats, beer, and onions boiling.....I know, gross! Thankfully that dissipated within 10-15 minutes where saffron, rose, and oud are the main players. This doesn't go through a ton of changes and is pretty linear....but that's a good thing. This wreaks of sophistication and class after the opening. I get more leather than oud but I believe the oud and saffron give it that leather/rose vibe. Longevity is easily 8-10 hours with only 2 sprays. It projects like crazy so go easy with the sprays. Yes, I bought a full bottle after going through my decant because it's that good. This is more of a "going out" or "wearing a suit" fragrance than wearing it to the office. Do yourself a favor and buy a decant of this if you're thinking of picking up a full bottle. Put your nose on this before going all in and thank me later. Cheers!

Tried this side by side with ombre nomade, and preferred this one. The rose/raspberry combo in ombre nomade brings the oud to a more medicinal route, while the more gourmand tinges and bump of leather+saffron makes this more animalic, which I prefer. On skin the chocolate really shows in the opening! Then it settles into a pretty strong leather with some hint of animalic flavored oud, and stays like that for quite some time. I had this on one hand and Amouage's overture man on another, and the leather accord is pretty similar in both, though overture is a bit more challenging in that heart with cumin and it's listed 'animal notes.' though overture develops further after that into a sweet boozy amber and softens quite a bit, nouveau monde stays on that leather vibe for the rest of its time and is a bit stronger. More linear but still really enjoyable for this genre of leather/oud Oriental. I'm considering getting a bottle because of how good the performance is too, but there's similars in this type that I'm also considering so it might be redundant EDIT: tested it on skin again; performance is NUCLEAR. up there with amouage interlude which i tested not too long ago. writing this after 12 hours and a shower, and the leather is still softly radiating off of my forearm where i applied.

Oh, this one is good! It's rare that I can pick out so many of the of individual notes in a fragrance. And it's even rarer that I see how magically they play together. But I definitely see the magic behind the composition of Nouveau Monde. Overall, this is a woody and leathery scent. Neither one is overly dominant to my nose, however. The oud and the leather combine so nicely that I was never left feeling like I was wearing an outright leather scent or an oud-heavy scent. Instead, I get something that falls beautifully in the middle. This helps differentiate the fragrance from others with similar profiles (namely Oud Wood and Ombre Leather). The other notes listed here are discernable, and give the fragrance a lot of depth and playfulness. The rose adds just a touch of floral without becoming overbearing (as rose can sometimes do). The cocoa, saffron, vanilla, and caramel add a gourmand sweetness that never gets cloying. Instead, it makes the fragrance more wearable for those who might find oud and/or leather scents generally too heavy. I haven't been wild about many Louis Vuitton fragrances, but this one ticks so many of my boxes. I'll be reaching for this sample often and won't be surprised to find a full bottle in my collection soon enough.

Okay. I love this. I described the instant gratification and Neon colour palate of LV's line of perfumes about as nauseating as the gobshites who plaster themselves in their gaudy, garment, bullshit, truth is though I like modern, impactful, attention grabbing perfume and this certainly fits in that category. It's a salty, sweet, translucent rose-ish, fruity, real oud fragrance. It's an odd one because I've not smelled much in this exact vain, although this wheelhouse is truly oversubscribed I think this has a superior opulence driven by a balance of natural, the dank, leathery, castoreum, cheesy oud and tawngy saffron but not over played or too much for the average Joe/Jo consumer and the screech of aroma chemical tenacity and diffuse, spacious complexity. Genuinely think this is great, against all my instincts to trash it, I'm not hugely fond of LV, I'm not in the market for a perfume of this price, I don't want to agree with consensus, something about being this 'on the nose' lacks the kind of traditional nuance I love in perfumery... I don't really need to go on further do i? But in spite of all this, I know what I like, and I like Nouveau Monde a great deal.

Louis Vuitton Nouveau Monde is a modern masculine masterpiece. It’s a leather dominant fragrance that also has oud and saffron, so as you could imagine it definitely has a rough and tumble aspect to it, but it also has a handsome mix of rose and cacao that smoothes the whole thing out and keeps the fragrance from smelling foreign or awkward while also elevating its complexity. Goes perfect with a black quilted Barbour jacket. Whenever I wear it I’m reminded of how much I love it. Been using my second sample here and there. A little goes a long way. Nothing synthetic about this. It has sweet components but not a clubby and feminine overdose of sweetness. Such an impeccable mix of so many different emotions: extroverted, exotic, dominant, sharp, and masculine while simultaneously gentlemanly, grounded, reassuring, smooth, and familiar. If you immediately think Tuscan Leather or Bel Ami when you think of a masculine leather fragrance, smell this one and you’ll discover a whole new take on leather that will set you apart and even get you some compliments if you wear a small amount of it with the right look and personality

Nouveau Monde was the first oud perfume that ever really hit for me. Where others had felt too skanky, loud or synthetic, this one just landed perfectly. It strikes a balance between feeling luxurious while still being challenging enough not to be boring. I could be wrong, but this smells like real oud to me, which I didn’t sense in some others from the house. Distinctly animalic- if applied to warm skin, it’s straight-up barnyard for a few moments, but nothing to be dramatic about and certainly very tame compared with the likes of Ensar Oud or ALD. That settles quickly, leaving behind a dusty, chocolatey profile that leans heavily on its ambery base. I get castoreum, but it’s not listed in the note pyramid, so either take that with a grain of salt or trust my nose, I guess. That chocolatey vibe drifts along for hours, then falls away to a leathery, suede-like base with lashings of sweetness throughout. I don’t really get much rose - it’s virtually undetectable to me. That’s not a criticism; it frankly doesn’t need it, and there are plenty of alternatives if that’s what you’re looking for.

It always amuses me when I see guys and girls who do not enjoy oud, come on here to leave reviews for an oud fragrance then proceed to state as fact things like "this smells like poop" or whatever. If you don't like oud, then this one and several others by LV aren't going to be for you and arent aimed at you. If you don't like sushi then don't go to a Michelin starred sushi restaurant and complain to everyone sitting in the restaurant in earshot that you hate the taste and the smell of fish and then list all the nasty shit you think fish reminds you of. Just saying. As an aside - this just BLOSSOMS with a couple of months of maturation. The oud is a little understated when you buy it but give it a little bit of time and space and... wow. I've said a few times that this is as close to a signature scent as there exists for me and it is even more so now. Absolutely incredible stuff. You need to like oud to enjoy this but if you do, then it is quite astonishingly good.

I got a sample of Nouveau Monde thinking that it would smell somewhat close to Ombre Nomade... And though it does, it also doesn’t... Nouveau Monde smells better than Ombre Nomade. Please don’t hate me for this because I truly think Ombre Nomade is a masterpiece. But on my skin, ON pulls sharp and very intensely like Oud and Incense with very little rose and absolutely nothing else. On the other hand, Nouveau Monde smells more balanced and a whole lot less sharp. I can smell the different facets and it is far more enjoyable (or less challenging, if you prefer) than ON. I love the gourmand aspect of Nouveau Monde, it is mesmerizing and I cannot stop sniffing my wrist. I think that it is definitely a colder months scent. Its longevity is phenomenal (on my skin) and I love each twist and turn it takes me on. All in all, after having tested both NM and ON, I will purchase Nouveau Monde (eventually).

So, I'm putting together my top 10 list for winter, and as I smell my samples, I'm looking for a fragrance to dethrone Nouveau Monde. As a pure winter fragrance, I'd choose this over Jubilation Man. Jubilation Man is overall a nicer smelling fragrance, but I'm talking about frigid temperatures in Chicago. This is a hard one to beat. The debate has been which is a dominating note, the leather or the oud. It's a tough call. For pure frigid temperatures, I'd place Epic Man and Nouveau Monde at the top. For me, this is the hidden gem in the community. Epic Man is another excellent fragrance for colder weather. The issue is though if you go into a house and the people inside have the house so warm that it's like Florida inside. My advice is for those people who have their heat cranked up to 80 in Chicago, turn you thermostat down to 60, and enjoy the beauty of Louis Vuitton's best offering. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

First night wearing this fragrance out in the city and ended up having a one night stand with a cutie! Could be coincidence or could be the magic of this fragrance. Lol. On another note, this is another banger like LV Ombré Nomade. It is extremely similar, so similar I do not think it’s worth owning both fragrances. In the future I will only own Nouveau Monde or Ombré Nomade. I haven’t made my mind up on which fragrance is actually better. Nouveau Monde is definitely more normie friendly. Slightly less animalic and a little more sophisticated. But Ombré Nomade has that added edge to it that makes it a slightly more unique fragrance. Both do a great rendition of oud regardless. At the end of the day, both frags are beasts. Both last 24 hours and both smell great. Just not worth owning both as they’re near identical. 5/5 stars alongside Ombré Nomade. Definitely on my favorites shelf.

For me, this is Ombré Nomade made quite a bit more versatile and truthfully better overall as far as the scent itself is concerned. I came across this fragrance very early on in my “fragrance journey” and was immediately put out by the oriental scent profile combined with the very strong leather note present, however as time has passed and my taste has developed, I’ve come to greatly appreciate this and similar fragrances. Today this ranks among my personal favorites, and I believe is a good introduction to stronger oriental scent profiles, as it’s a moderately easy wear throughout most of the year, and not nearly as situationally exclusive as its counterpart Ombré Nomade. Overall I’d say this is very close to being a 10/10 for me, definitely one of the more slept on LV’s and one of the few that might even be worth the hefty price point.

I'm not sure why patchouli is missing from Fragrantica's note list. This is a fantastically blended fragrance that some compare to Ombre Nomade (not surprising since the perfumer is the same and they share notes of oud, saffron, and incense) but I find it quite different and much more interesting than the feminine-leaning overdone sweet oud-rose combo that Ombre Nomade is. Nouveau Monde has a sexy, masculine, leathery civet-like vibe (even though these notes are not listed) with caramelic undertones and a smoky incense. These notes are blended so well that they don't become challenging to wear and have garnered me compliments from others. It's nothing like Tuscan Leather, Dior Homme Parfum, or Carved Oud as others (strangely) mention. It is its own beast. Projection and longevity are excellent, so well worth the money. 9/10

Once described to me as “sexy mechanic”, this blend of unique ingredients, at first spray, definitely has a quality to it that is reminiscent of a tire shop. But then as it lingers on the skin, it magically transforms into an elegant scent. It simply smells exotic and expensive. And let’s talk for a moment amount projection. Wow! And the longevity is even more impressive. I’ve washed my shirts, and out of the washer and dryer, the scent still lingers. I’ve simply never experienced a scent like it. The Oud is smoked and combined with a tinge of elegant tanned leather and raw cocoa, it is a glorious combination. Its awash with the soft, but spicy aura of saffron and the rose adds even a further touch of refinement. It’s incredibly refined and screams of quality. If you want a scent that grabs peoples attention, this is it!

I just bought a bottle of Nouveau Monde, a few days before Christmas. This was my ninth full bottle that I've bought from Louis Vuitton so far. I've had a sample of this for a while, and used it a lot and really enjoyed it. The smokey leather oud scent notes really agree with my nose, especially in colder weather like this. Louis Vuitton is definitely my favorite fragrance house so far, and Jacques Cavallier is my favorite perfumer. I love how their scents are unique and pleasant, and easy to layer. I use Attrape-Reves with Myriad and Pacific Chill pretty often. I'm not sure which Louis Vuitton fragrances I want to buy next. I love Afternoon Swim and Symphony, and both of those will be amazing in the warm weather again. I've already used almost half of my bottle of Pacific Chill, that I just bought this past Spring.

Well what a beautiful fragrance this really is, I agree with the opening being punchy, in the first 10 minutes you get masses of Oud and Cacao to me. This does scream elegance when wearing it, very well crafted. More a fragrance to be dressed up. In respect to the comparison to Ombré nomade, they are completely different and smell nothing alike, however I do get some relation to Tuscan leather. As performance of this goes you get what you pay for, masses of longevity easily over 12 hours and days on clothes. This lasts about the same as Ombre Nomade, however Ombre nomade does project a bit more. Overall a very classy, sophisticated, easy to wear Oud. This fragrance to me is very hard to dislike.

I visited my local LV store today to sample Nouveau Monde and Ombre Nomade. I gave two sprays of each, one on each arm. Both smell great but they don't smell alike. Nouveau Monde was the stronger performer and is the one I prefer. Both reminded of fragrances I already own. Nouveau Monde is a lot like Diwan (The Spirit of Dubai). Ombre Nomade reminds me a little of Mana (Nishane) and Dead of Night (Strangelove nyc) although performance on Ombre Nomade is much more subdued. It is not the beastly performer I was expecting and I didn't find either fragrance particularly challenging. Both are full bottle worthy if you don't already have similar fragrances in your arsenal.

Among all my fragrances, this one is simply the best for almost every season (except summer). I’ve received many compliments while wearing it, and people often say it has a very straightforward, masculine character. It’s strong, but not as intense as Ombre Nomade, which can sometimes be a bit overwhelming depending on the occasion. Nouveau Monde, on the other hand, feels more elegant. Its composition is truly unique, and I can only recommend this perfume to a gentleman who wants to conquer the world—just as its name suggests, Nouveau Monde which means New World. The parfum last on clothes for a very long time then on the skin for more than 10 hours on me ez.

Finally a true oud fragrance using real oud. Depth,depth depth and more depth, it's actually what I look for in a fragrance. I dont get Tuscan Leather at all and I like Tuscan Leather, this is so much more. Cocoa and oud, this must be the new rose oud of the future. It's on the shelf with my Gucci alchemist collection meaning it's top shelf to me. Certainly the use of oud here is masterfully blended to create sort of an romanticized desert at night feel. I'd break down the notes but what's the point read the note description/breakdown because it's pretty accurate, it smells beautiful, well done, just sublime.

This opens up with a powdery cacao accord. You get the smell of pure unrefined cacao. It settles down and becomes slightly animalic on account of the oud. In the drydown, you get some leather and some hints of saffron. Overall, you have a spicy balsamic fragrance with some light gourmand notes. This is one of the few Louis Vuitton fragrances that stand out. Jacques Cavallier outdid himself with this creation. This one would be a perfect fit in the oriental collection. Projection, sillage, and longevity all 10. More appropriate at night times and for a mature audience.

Well for those who are doubting about this or ombre nomade.. Take this if you don’t like fruits and rose mixed with a heavier dose of oud ij the face. This one is a very smooth version of ombre nomade, still strong, but smoother.. flatter tough, it’s just the opening where you feel that magic cocoa and after that it’s like a oud leather thing. Great fragrance, but if you’re like me and want your scents more deep and beast mode go for ombre nomade.. yet again this is amazingly good and performance is also super good.. just more flat and less in the face.

Musky leather with a smokey oud/amber background. Saffron and rose are subtle, and the scent is smooth and refined in the characteristic designer fashion. Very elegant, sultry and mature, but also work safe and unisex. I love this spicy wood genre, but am not too keen on a FB as the leather is quite dominating to me. It feels like sitting in a vintage luxury car, or maybe LV is trying to hypnotize people into buying their bags. If you enjoy leather though this is a good suede note, subdued and not tannery-like.

Really loved this fragrance the first time I tried it. The dry down is fantastic with the perfect balance of woody, Oud and leather. It’s long lasting and great projection. It’s expensive but at least you get something that is quality and has great performance. You don’t need more than two to three sprays. Is it better than Ombre Nomade? Not for me since that is one of my favorite fragrances. This is easier to wear though and suitable for day and night time in cold weather. Very masculine in my opinion.

Nouveau Monde is a truly extraordinary fragrance. Artistic combining of notes opens lots of space inside the scent bubble creating a "big" fragrance. Cocoa backed by saffron, rose accented with black currant adds juiciness and this blend leans against and oud/leather/saffron accord. The patchouli provides a sharp contrast to the juicy rose and the soft cocoa/oud accord. Avoid judging this fragrance after spraying, but wait until it settles in and these incredible contrasts start to vibrate. Greatness!

This fragrance is not for everyone, my friend gave me a 5ml tester and I absolutely love it!! It's strong but not overwhelming like hombre nomade. When I wear it I of course get a lot of that strong oud and leather with some rose and vanilla notes. This fragrance is definitely for the more mature audience because when I wear it to school people don't really like it (I'm in high-school and everyone wears the more well known stuff so this fragrance is basically repulsive to most classmates)

I have had this for quite some time now, I wore it today. It has to be one of the best LV fragrances. It doesn’t, but I feel like this is what the inside of a LV store should/would smell like. The scent of expensive, luxury materials. It lasts and lasts, and remains consistently amazing for the duration. I think this should be worn in the evenings, maybe for an event or a special occasion - though it doesn’t stop me from wearing it whenever.

My favorite LV frag out of the 5 I’ve smelt. It is oud elegance. Maybe my favorite mixture of oud. I have a lot to say about it, but I’m still trying it to give a more detailed description later. Expensive, but I got a decant. I probably won’t pay +$200 for it, but I’ve never spent that much for any drag. I will continue to get decants of this, but if this was discontinued today, I would find a way to get a bottle.

This one could be just another leathery, rosy oud, but the caramel/vanilla note makes all the difference to me. A pleasure to wear for sure. I don't detect any rose or it's just there to support the saffron in creating the leather accord. I prefer the drydown on skin. On clothes, it becomes a little sharper/pungent probably from the blackcurrant. Wearing this with a suede jacket would make for a perfect match.

This one is an olfactory delight ❤️ Has DNA of Ombré Nomade with raspberry replaced by gourmandish cacao & caramel and leather slightly amped up...making it a masculine leaning gourmand oud fragrance. For those comfortable with Oud and bold fragrances. Great projection for first 2 hours and stays for a very long time on clothes. Shukran Habibi!

I'm loving this a lot, it's up there with Ombre Nomade. They are quite similar but this one is fruiter with a dominant leather note. I also find this similar to Matiere Noire but more masculine even tho i find Matiere Noire to be unisex. One of the best ones in the men's collection for sure, definitely worth trying/sampling. 10/10.

this is the younger brother to ombre nomade but imo smells better. it removes the smokiness from nomade and makes it a little more wearable. still super strong and can give you a headache. 2 sprays max. the beginning can be a little harsh but let it dry down as it dries down to a beautiful leathery saffrony oud with a hint of cacao

Honestly, I found this a bit too harsh at first but I think my nose was just not used to it. It quickly grew on me. Even though it’s leather and oud heavy, it still has some type of freshness to it, which is not something i find in oud & leather fragrances a lot. It became somewhat refreshing. Love this.

If the oudy style of Oud Wood had a baby with ysl Tuxedo! Nouveau Monde fully does it’s own thing, so it’s worth a sample if you’re into either aforementioned dna! This composition is blended incredibly. “Chocolate-tinged wine” and “sexy mechanic” are the best descriptions I have seen for this, haha. :)

Great one! Classy dry leather and oud that warms up in the dry down. It is basically Ombre Nomade without the rose or, at least, the rose is less prominent. It lasts forever. Also, there is really nothing stinky about it. Totally wearable in all occasions. Sported it in the office a few times now.

Opens with a memorable and intense burst of sparkling/fizzy saffron, rose, incense. Drying down into a chocolatey, leather, oud - subtly sweet. This is brilliant. Not a safe blind buy, but it really is special. Performance on skin is 10-12 hours. On clothes, I can still smell it after 2 days.

Class and sophistication in a bottle. Wearable Oud and a tamer and less sweet version of Ombré Nomade. I have both, and feel that Noveau Monde is more wearable. I get ~6 hours performance on my skin, while it lasts much longer on clothes. It seems to perform better in the evenings.

Very similar to Ombre Nomade in the first 30-60 mins. Too rosy I think in the opening. Then in the dry-down the leather becomes more noticeable. It's a very nice, rich and smooth leather fragrance. Nouveau Monde and Ombre Nomade are not for boys. These are serious, heavy, mature.

yep. I still fucking love this. badass, dark, and unapologetic. even though compliments and attention aren't the main purpose for wearing fragrance, I gotta tell you, it does do something to you and how you perceive a perfume. 10/10, though not the most mass appealing of the LV.

to me this is sort of a very arabian/oriental version of tuxedo. They do not smell the same even if there are some similarities but they are wearable in the same range of occasion ( but nouveau monde more in the oriental side of world bc of it power and animalic notes )

really unique. until I smelled Amouage overture women. I came away thinking they must share a new aroma chemical. the oud cocoa note is identical. I love both scents as they diverge in many ways but seem to be built off the same chemical. it's wonderful however.

By a mile, this is the best LV fragrance available as of this writing. Ever so so so slightly barnyard animalic, but the leather aura is firm and precise. Most LV’s are questionable, at best, but this right here, constant reader, is a very good perfume.

Extermly underrated this smells amazing and projects like a beast it lasts on your skin for ages and can still be smelt on clothes after weeks i Recomend this until i die it smells better than most Lv Fragrances and has niche quality 10/10

Yes the person below me is correct ombre nomad with ginger from l’immensite in the dry down maybe slightly more sweet from the caramel but when i go out into the slight hot air it smells more gingerly almost like a dark sur la route
