Spell On You

This smells like hairspray. I felt a bit rushed at the LV counter and besides Les Sables Roses, I was unsure what to get. I purchased Attrape-Reves and immediately returned it and exchanged it for this. (The patchouli dry down is HEAVY! I sprayed a sample card a week and some change ago and it still smells like it) It’s a pretty scent, but it really does smell like a hairspray that I wore as a kid. The sillage is laughable. I’m unsure of the longevity yet, but I think I may be partially noseblind to this. For some reasons all of the LV perfumes have this weird sweat smell opening to them - like a hot summers day. Maybe aquatic in a sense? Just sweaty .. lol. It’s nice and I’m glad to have it. Is it worth $300? Absolutely not. *edited to add* I wore this perfume today and have received so many compliments from strangers. Literally being stopped to ask what I’m wearing. I’ve been wearing it for about 3 hours and I can still smell it on myself (I sprayed a generous amount because it is a weaker scent) It wears very well and smells the same throughout the opening, middle and base.

My second review of this beauty. I’ve just had mine refilled at Louis Vuitton and I really love it. Fresh opening which is ultra feminine and makes me feel soft and elegant......the middle is rose and Iris which is a bit challenging because it’s real Iris palladia that’s used, not much probably but enough. Then the dry down is soft rose and peach. I’ve worn Ombré Nomade which is turbo charged amber with a punch which I also love but it’s a tough perfume to wear everyday. For me these two from LV have taken over from Chanel les Exclusifs because of the quality. I gave up on Chanel after trying the new reformulated EDP’s. Perfume love is a fickle mistress these days when NOTHING stays the same, gone are the classics that were always what they promised to be. Too much on the market, too many new releases so I go from house to house like a whore.......

I chose this as one of my wedding anniversary gifts, and it happened to be Thanksgiving yesterday too. This scent had been on my wishlist for a while, but every time I tested it in store I had a different opinion about it .... Yesterday it finally felt just right, especially because I’ve pretty much tested, used, or owned most of the LV scents at this point. I wanted to commit to a full bottle of this beauty (also the holiday packaging was too cute to resist) To me it’s a sweet sweet bomb of fruity florals with a dash of a soft powdery effect ... Old-school perfumery refined into something more modern and fitting for today. I absolutely adore it and love how it sits on my skin. This is stunning and totally blew me away when I smelt it in the Louis Vuitton store recently. It opens with a vintage vibe of powdery iris, violet and later a sharp rose. Later I can pick up a soft apricot/peach fragrance which intermingles with the powdery violet and projects for a good few hours. I love it. I want it and would love a bottle. Sillage is good for this type of perfume and longevity is fair. I just think it delivers that feminine vintage quality within a modern perfume. Plus with LV the quality of the ingredients shine like a light over and above the dross of other houses. Edit. I bought a bottle. 100ml. It’s really beautiful!

Delicate, musky, powdery iris/rose scent. I find Spell On You to be beautiful, I adore the LV musk and would love to have them all if price was not an issue. This fragrance is very light and sophisticated, it is not sweet and not particularly floral, but smells like a powdery luxurious lipstick. Great for daytime, office safe, formal events etc. With that said, longevity is about three hours on my skin and the silliage is intimate. Safe to say the performance is disappointing for this price range.

This is one of the nicest LV’s I’ve tried. I got a few samples ans decants to try and this one is a total winner. It’s a beautiful clean scent not too floral not too musky it’s the perfect mix of both. This could be worn anywhere and is perfect on a warm spring or summer day. In love with this is I was to purchase any full size LV think this would be the winner for me. I don’t think I own anything else quite like it.

This is so good! Super smooth, clean and fresh! Fruity, floral and powdery, works everywhere and anytime, so it would a perfect signature scent for women. It would put a spell on me, grab my attention and most definitely attract me if I smelled this on a woman walking by. A really safe blind buy, can't go wrong with this stuff. Amazing!

It looks like the special quality here is the tamed florals: they don't go too strong and too sweet. I can even smell something that is very lightly bitter, whatever (note) it is. It smells like it's in a similarity group together with Coeur Battant and eLVes. It smells very good overall. Nice smell for a white T-shirt day.

Spell on You is aptly named. I've been beguiled by this fragrance and want a full bottle! It's a feminine rose with just the right amount of sweetness. Not too light, and not too heavy. I suspect this will definitely be a compliment magnet. If you enjoy rose fragrances, please add this to your try list.

Smell like dewy rose in the garden and you can smell the bitter part like the rosehip a bit earthy and the petal has a tad tangy which gives realistic rose scent. It’s very feminine. The name said it all, mesmerizing like a spell.

Major compliment getter. Don’t judge this until it warms up on your skin. Sweet florals mixed with buttery, not too powdery iris. Just stunning!

I am very much a fragrance amateur, but I want to try to do this scent justice. This is not something that I would have thought to reach for normally. I'm not typically a fan of powdery scents and violet and iris have previously been no-go notes for me. However, I have recently been looking for a soft, feminine, everyday scent (signature if you will). I found what I was looking for in this perfume. I will start off by saying this is in no way groundbreaking, but I have come to love it. It starts off very powdery with a violet note right off the top. I can also smell some greenness, but it's not overpowering or offensive. I love the drydown of this. I would say the most prominent note of this scent is the iris, but the jasmine and rose are also detectable (slightly), and I think they serve to "tone down" the powdery iris in a cool way. I can very faintly detect the peach note, and I think that does a good job of combating the powdery aspect too to make it more smooth. The vibes: I can for sure get a bit of a makeup-y or lipstick-y vibe from this scent. Overall, it just makes me feel ultra feminine, clean, and sophisticated. It definitely feels more mature, but I am 24 and in love with it. I couldn't see younger girls really wanting to smell like this. Lastly, I would say that this has intimate/moderate sillage and moderate longevity. After I spray this I go nose-blind to it for about 30 minutes, but after it warms up on my skin, then I can smell it for at least 6-8 hours.

Oh, wow. I love unapologetically feminine floral scents, so this is my jam for sure. I am also obsessed with iris, but Spell on You is not exactly an Iris perfume. Iris does make a bold appearance in the opening, but quickly fades away, remaining on the background, and I can't really smell it anymore, but I believe it creates a soft powdery "bed" the scent rests on. I mostly smell violets and watery rose. Very pretty, somewhat old-fashioned. Unfortunately, all this gorgeousness lasts about 40 minutes, and then it gets soapy and very generic, standard "perfumey" scent. So, 9/10 initially, 3/10 after that.

Got a sample for my GF when I bought a different scent. Rose and peach is mainly what I get. Makes you want to take a deep breath. I don't get a ton of iris which surprises me when I look at the notes it's listed twice but.... I don't trust fragrantica's note tree. Kinda get an ozone hairspray vibe but it's not overpowering. Reminds me of womens hair fragrances and shampoo 🧴 Pretty nice but not worth niche prices IMO. Scent 6/10

Such a nice soft floral powdery springtime fragrance. The opening is so nice and comforting but the dry down is a little too powdery. Someone said this is almost like mosquito repellent and it does have that vibe but its not totally that though. Throughout the day I get small whiffs of it and it's just so nice. Not sure if it's worth the price but it's still very nice overall. A great summer/spring scent.

Love the opening of this one - def a la my aforementioned thumbelina scents category --chalky/pezzy iris and gently sparkling peach. The dry down, which I like but not as much as I enjoy the opening, is really when the rose and violet come in a way where I can see the comparisons (though def different) to rose/violet/iris combos in YSL Paris/Feminin Pluriel/Imperia La Divina.

I like this scent, its a nice floral rose with green notes. It is a bit powdery for my liking but the violet and tuscan iris are beautiful and I wish I could smell them more. It is quite fragrant and I imagine a greenhouse filled with fragrant roses, its powdery and in the air, like a cloud of rose that envelopes the wearer.

Powdery and clean like other female LVs but in a unique way from a violet, quite dainty feeling for sure I feel it’s a little linear and falls off quick but is beautifully feminine, would love to smell this on someone else!

Synthetic but delicate floral concoction. Feminine and decent, as far as synthetics can go. Roses, violets and iris with green accents; accurate scent profile. Pretty good but way overpriced.

the first spray is really underwhelming, but the dry down is beautiful!!! i like that it actually has a fruit in the bottom notes. not incredibly unique but it is very very pretty.

Spell On You maybe—but definitely not a spell on me. She enters with all the promise of a verdant wisp, an ozonic shimmer that felt like a breeze through pressed linen and crushed violet stems. Brief. Clean. Cold, almost. Like green sap spilled on silk. For one second, I almost swooned. But oh, then came the foam. Oh... Rose, yes, but the kind pressed into bars of hotel soap, all glycerin and ghost. The iris floats in too, but not the buttery kind, not the suede dust of orris butter I crave. Nuh-uh, this was the chalky kind. The one that clings to your throat like talc. Dry. Claustrophobic. A scent wearing lace gloves indoors. With a headache. The jasmine tries to lift it, tries to inject a little flesh, a little bloom, but she’s gone indolic. Slightly breathy, slightly off, like a white flower left in the heat too long, wilting into itself, petals curling under from shame. A plastic kind of sweetness begins to show up too, like shampoo clinging to hair two days after the wash. Not sensual. Not sultry. Just... stuffy. Accompanied by mask like freshly worn polyester, Spell On You is the product of a love affair between unfeeling dryer sheets and a temperamental florist’s fridge. Mmh. A fragrance for “feminine elegance” in the boardroom PowerPoint sense. A lipstick-pink idea of seduction, polite and inoffensive and starched at the seams. If she cast a spell, it’s the kind that puts you gently to sleep. I expected LV to take risks—hell, to seduce. Instead, this was formula in designer heels, with just a touch of note quality to make all seem worth your cash.

Pretty disappointed with this. I got a sample of this with an LV purchase and it smells slightly better in the bottle than it does on my skin. Either way, to me, regardless of how it smells, considering it basically faded within 4 hours to the point I could barely smell it, this is just simply NOT worth the price point. Separately, when you FIRST spray it, it's quite strong...honestly, one of the strongest floral smells I've ever worn and I was concerned I would get a headache from it, which really doesn't happen to me usually. There are also some powdery notes, but I found the floral smell to be quite overpowering. Honestly, this scent is just really nothing special and there are so many other floral fragrances out there that are much better value - meaning you'll get a nicer smell, for longer, and it'll be cheaper. Scent Description: Very floral, Hints of Powder Sillage: Arms Length Longevity: Starts very strong, fades quickly. At most 4 hours. Presentation: Basic Pink bottle with a black cap.

Not a favorite for me. The green/iris note is right there on the cusp of being that head-ache threat. This would be an 'ok to dislike' rating for me. It started out as 'dislike' but as it's worn/warmed/faded, I am enjoying it more. I appreciate that it's soft and light and after about an hour of wear has faded into the background and is less 'in your face' harshness. I can see people enjoying this on a warm day as it's not very cloying/heavy. I've seen some reviews stating that people would like this to be stronger and longer lasting but I just don't feel that this is that type of fragrance. Perhaps because I am wary of the white floral/iris notes, I appreciate a fragrance that can take more of a back seat. Not a fragrance I would wear on-the-regular.

Just the soapiest soapy that ever lathered. On my second try with this one, and I still just don't care for it. I see a lot of similarities with the 1980s and earlier vintage florals; they overpower you with aldehydes and eventually dry down into a floral soap. Spell On You may lack the aldehyde opening, but dries down similar to classics from earlier eras. Not for me.

It almost smells like Paris by YSL, but at more cheaper way. A very old-style powdery rose. Heavy, oily sweet. It reminds me of the smell that 90's hair nutrition oil exuded (It may have had a name like Rose Hair Essence). Very nostalgic, but smelly cheap, not worth the price. ridiculous.

Sampled this one today since I have been collecting LV perfume. The opening is very pleasant with sweet, slightly powdery, rose. The more into the dry down, the more it soapy it gets, quite a generic scent in my opinion. Last pretty long on my skin, around 6 hrs. Quite disappointed tbh.

Spell On You has a young, springlike, sweet vibe. Rose, violet and iris give it a classy, warm floral character. Unfortunately I find it very boring. A kind of perfume you would chose for your 14 years old daughter in the late 90’s.

This smells like a rain soaked full bloom rose. It’s very indolic as it dries down. Not my style. Perfect for someone who loves rose/floral scents. I blind grabbed a sample without reading the notes. I’d recommend a decant.

Peach and Iris. Somewhat sweet. It is pretty, but not a scent profile I prefer. On my skin, there’s a bit of bitterness, which is often the case with some floral perfumes. Glad I got to sample though.

I find this one from Louis Vuitton to be lacking... It’s rose-y, to be sure, and very “green” but it seems unfinished, rushed and linear. The scent itself doesn’t match its name at all as I am certainly not under its spell...Rather, I am left dissatisfied and disappointed 😞 Oh well, I only got a small decant...glad I didn’t blind buy this. My humble suggestion is to sample it first...

I really don't know why I didn't like this. I love powdery light florals and when I saw the notes and accords for this I thought this would be my favorite out of the LV women's line. I don't know if it's the way it was blended or if the acacia in the base threw me off but everything just came off too sharp and too strong.

I don’t like Iris and violet dominant fragrances but if you do Spell on you is a very powdery clean scent with a hint of rose and jasmine. the most prominent aspect of it is being powdery like makeup powder.

Spell on you will be discontinued by Louis Vuitton. I’d grab a back up if it’s one you love. Sun Song will be brought back though and apparently, LV has a vanilla centered one coming in November 2025...

Upleasant, sharp, synthetic, has a tire gum undertone. I don't understand the comparison with Femininity Pluriel. Just no. Very basic.

I thought I liked it at first. But upon lately, it smells like a older woman and just too much rose imo.

smells like mediocre women who we can easily see on social media: behaving as if they're professional models. Is this similar to Heures d'Absense? That's a brutal insult.

I wanted to like this, but it is just so far from what I expected/hoped for when first hearing the name of the EDP as it was launched. There certainly seems to be a dichotomy between the title and the actual fragrance. The scent in itself might serve as a fine reflection of the non-complex, somewhat generic, girly-girl scents trending on the market right now, but there is little to be captivated/spellbound by if you prefer the truly hypnotic, more risqué or alluring scents out there. Granted, this is not a niche or statement Edp- rather it smells inoffensive and sweet, almost demure, so you will not risk being the center of antagonistic outbursts, i.e. public shaming, for wearing this scent. You could easily wear this at the office or as a clerk wanting to smell well-groomed, but nothing too noticeable. However, there is just no spell on me after wearing this. None whatsoever.

Fantastic rose iris scent. This is one of the few LV fragrances that warranted a full bottle for me. This is easily one of the most unique from the lineup. The opening is this gorgeous blend of Iris, Violet and green notes which come together to create a unique take on a makeup or lipstick type of smell. The rose is bright and watery to add to the green nuance. The peach is not overpowering at all it is more like a peach skin rather than the fruit. The notes are blended beautifully nothing really sticks out too much. This has great sillage as well. I do get lots of compliments wearing this. This is an overall very elegant fragrance and a stand out from the brand. I do also own a bottle of Dancing Blossom and Feminin Pluriel by MFK which this is compared to. This is completely different and unique from those scents.

A strange perfume. Sort of like a fresh floral freesia with an aquatic touch from the 90's... but with "new and improved" aromachemicals. Very green and violet forward on my skin, smelling almost like mosquito repellant. Simultaneously, it is a very demure, old-fashioned, innocent rose and iris perfume... I don't get much of the jasmine and it's not sweet at all. I am only 2 hours in to the wear now, and haven't yet gotten any of the peach, though the white musky base is clearly legible. Maybe you can tell that it's not my favorite. I haven't liked anything from this Louis Vuitton collection so far. I feel they all have a plasticky, mass-market smell, many with an aquatic note shoe-horned in. But I have to admit... I can't stop sniffing this one!

As a guy I was trying to pick out a LV fragrance for women, just to have one in my collection. Spell On You smells like a hard candy. There almost has to be lychee in here. This smells like a soap my sister used to use when we were younger, the whole bathroom and hallway would smell like it for hours after she came out of the shower. It just smells like an attractive young woman and it does smell very luxurious. I have a sample of this and also Rose des Vents. I think Spell on you smells a lot better than Vents, but I might go for Vents if I wanted something more mature because it does give me that vibe. I'd rate Spell on you a 9.0/10, it's excellent and I'm pretty sure any guy who would catch this in the air would really like it.

Scent: 5/10 The opening and middle of this fragrance were very beautiful and deep powdery and floral notes that would be very good for daytime and everyday use. However, and I'm not sure if this just on my skin but, the dry down has a strange dirty note that just doesn't go well. Longevity: 7/10 Just a pretty decent longevity of around 5-6 hours. Projection: 4/10 Decent projection in the first hour, but becomes very weak and a skin scent. Is it worth the price (320USD): 2/10 Absolutely not. It's very boring for what it is. The only way I would recommend you this is if you were a billionaire looking for an everyday scent. Other than that, it's just way too boring for the price. Final Rating: 5.0 / 10

this reminds me of being a kid (i was born in 1992) and coming to visit my grandparents and giving my grandma a long hug and smelling whatever 90's floral/rosey scent she was wearing. that being said, despite the nostalgia, i would NOT recommend this. unless you are above the age of 60. i could see MAYBE a very mature, rich, younger woman wearing this, but i dont think most younger would be into this. if i was a woman that wanted an LV fragrance, i would choose attrape-reves over this 10 times out of 10.

I personally found this very iris heavy. And i definitely couldn't detect Rose unless searching for it. Sampled Spell on you today, and I'm relatively underwhelmed. It's roughly a 'raw cold potato' style iris in the opening, which remains soft and light. Pretty pastel colours move in which give it a bit of movement. But it could easily be compared to a room air freshner or many other scents. I pick up on a musk which is kind of typical. Honestly, this is not a £215 fragrance. It's so boring.

I was given a sample of this with my LV order. Right away this reminded me of something and it took few times sniffing it for me to put a finger on it. Bond #9 Gold Coast. It has the same fresh rose clean vibe although Gold Coast is fresher and cleaner and Spell on You is more garden variety floral. Not my fave but only because i don't care for those type of scents. If you like clean rose musk, look no further although i think you can probably find something similar for less money

I have no words to describe this perfectly blended fragrance. It's the safest and comfiest choice for every woman and every girl should own this one. It's fresh, floral, attractive and can give you so many compliments the entire day. The only minor issue is this that it gets watery after spraying and gives me OCD. If this issue can be resolved, or if someone can recommend me a perfect dupe for this one, because I am in awe of this fragrance and cannot let it go at all!
