Honey Coconut

As other's have stated, this also reminds me of Honey and the Moon. I love Margot Elena and her creations....they are always unique and the packaging is artfully done. I put this on eight hours ago and it's still very evident on my skin....usually scents stay a very short time on me(1-2 hours) It is SO so sweet but I really love it. The sweetness is tempered with sandalwood but the sandalwood isn't obvious...it just gives the honey a bit of dry, earthy smokiness. The violet just barely peeps through in the most beautiful way.It is so soft, sweet and lovely....it's like those old-fashioned violet candies, drizzled in raw, smokey honey! Oh...and.....I don't smell any coconut. I am loving this. EDIT: The first review was after I had tested this scent but had not yet purchased.Although I still feel pretty much the same as my first review, I recently purchased a bottle and for some reason, the scent smells a little differently to me now. There is definitely a slight "tropical" note for the first few minutes. It must be the coconut but smells more like a coconut/pineapple combo to me. It doesn't last long but gives this more of a tropical vibe than I smelled the first time....I guess I didn't smell ANY thing tropical the first time. Feels a little more sheer ( less heavy and drippy and smokey) than I remember too. Doesn't seem to last as long as I remember either. I tried it on the first time when the air was really cold so perhaps that makes a difference. I still love it but it's funny how that happens.

Though not listed in the notes, Honey Coconut does in fact smell like coconut, or more specifically coconut lotion (according to a blind smell test by my boyfriend). It is to Pacifica's Indian Coconut, what Kenzo's Amour is to Hypnotic Poison. I prefer Amour, and I also prefer Honey Coconut. If the above analogy is useless to you, I'll also try to describe this scent without making any comparisons to other fragrances. Honey Coconut is impressive because it is simultaneously ultra sweet and whispery. There is a tiny bit of saltiness in the sweetness. After buying it, I smelled it next to wildflower and buckwheat honeys. There is no true resemblance. It smells as much like actual honey as it does like actual coconut. Projection is good but soft, longevity is average-pretty good. When I smell Honey Coconut from a distance, it reminds me of a vacation town and being down the block from a bakery or treat stand. The intense sweetness of "something somewhere" keeps teasing you and piquing your interest, but you aren't sure whether it's cupcakes or caramel corn, or what... On closer inspection it's... IT'S... still a mystery. Could it be something with coconut?

I wish this was still made. It would be my favorite honey perfume. I first tried it as a Handcreme and fell in love and then purchased a bottle on ebay. I highly recommend nobody does this. The perfume I purchased went rancid, the color of the liquid became yellowish. Apparently due to this natural ingredients in the perfume it expires much faster then other products. I looked into this and others have had similar experiences and even contacted margot elena support myself for insight into this matter and they confirmed this happens to these products. I imagine this issue is why love and toast was eventually discontinued. Its a shame.

In my personal wrist to wrist face off, this a dead ringer for Victoria by Victoria's Secret. Honey is all you smell here. Not a drop of coconut. This is so beautiful to me as Victoria was my signature for many years before it was dc'd. It's like finding a lost love! The lasting power isn't great, maybe 2 hours tops but the beauty of the sparkling, warm honey dancing on your skin makes up for that. Sillage is good while it lasts. I truly love this!

This is a truly delicious, sweet fragrance, though the name is misleading. I detect no coconut whatsoever. It's a simple, linear scent that smells almost exactly like Haagen Dazs Honey Vanilla ice cream tastes. It's a delightful bargain in an unboxed glass bottle. I highly recommend this if you have a hankering for a professional quality, reasonably priced, luscious gourmand vanilla fragrance.

It's really gorgeous!!! Sweet! Honey and coconut!!!! (it does smell quite a lot like coconut!). Beautiful violet and sandalwood, vanilla and honey!!! Yum!!! DELICIOUS!!! I love it!!! My husband adores it, and so do my kids!!!! And the bottle is gorgeous too!! So pretty!!! I love the colours, and the birds, and the writing!!! It's all so artistic and fun!!!

Beautygirl..... No...I don't consider this to be a powdery vanilla. It feels "moist" to me...like so many have mentioned..."sticky" sweet. I left a review way back and can't remember exactly what I said but yes....this is like a moist confection...chewy and palpable...not wispy or soft. It has a nice hint of tropical coconut too!

i usually dont go for vanilla and coconut scents..but i tried a little on at work (whole foods) and i got so many compliments. so the next day i bought the perfume and body creme for layering. it is the perfect spring/summer scent ..love it!!

One of my favourite scents-pure honey with sugared violets with soft vanilla topping!!! Bright,cheerful fragrance for cold winter days-very good sillage and longevity!!!

Honey Coconut is a simple, sweet and pleasing honey scent with subtle floral undertones. There is NO coconut in this perfume, despite the name. Pomme Poivre, which I also sampled this week, likewise has nothing to do with apples or pepper. The names in this series really don’t say anything definitive about the notes. The correct notes (from the Love + Toast website) are: sweet honey, sugared vanilla, violet, sandalwood. The honey is the strongest thing going in this fragrance, with a touch of vanilla and sandalwood lending some underlying warmth. The violet isn’t at all powdery, but there is a noticeable floral tone running through this fragrance that brings a welcome tinge of freshness amidst all the heady sweetness. This fragrance is wonderfully simple. It’s all about the intoxicating scent of sweet, creamy, golden honey, and yet it retains a sense of the fresh flowers that played a role in the creation of that honey. It does smell quite natural. The only thing I can really compare it to is L’Instant, however Honey Coconut is much simpler, much less thick, and yet I would say it is sweeter. I haven’t yet decided if it is a must-buy for me, but I do like it a lot and have a feeling it will grow on me even more. When I sampled it for the first time yesterday, I became increasingly addicted to sniffing my arm as the hours passed. The lasting power was also extraordinary - almost 24 hours after applying it, I could still smell it.

Love & Toast HONEY COCONUT reminds me a lot of Laurence Dumont VANILLE VIOLETTE. Key word here: sweet. Very sweet. Very, very sweet violet fragrance. The honey is quite prominent, but the vanilla is also detectable, and it goes without saying that the sugar cubes are not an exaggeration in this case! Is it true that there is no coconut in this fragrance whatsoever? Well, there was no gin in GIN BLOSSOM either. Margot Ellena appears to be working out a philosophical thesis best summarized in the following phrase: "Anything could be anything." This may be why she confers such odd and irrelevant names upon her fragrances. In this case, it's not totally irrelevant, because there is definitely a detectable honey note. But coconut? No, this is much more about violet, it seems to me. Anyway, if you like the Laurence Dumont Les Senteurs Gourmands line, you'll surely like this creation, which is also very natural smelling and every bit as sweet. Just be sure to have a triple expresso and a pitcher of ice water at your side!

This is a nice thick sweet scent. Sugar, vanilla, and floral honey. It's simple, but not without a bit of charm. I actually do get the violets on my skin. They are deeply embedded in the honey though. The honey note is rich and "perfumey". It is a velvety and slow scent, and it somehow feels warm. It definitely has a sweet sophistication. It thins out as it wears and becomes more sugary vanilla towards drydown. Some note at the very very first spray reminds me of Pacifica Indian Coconut Nectar, but it fades quickly - and this is definitely a more substantial fragrance. It also slightly reminds me of a sweeter and prettier version B&BW Warm Vanilla Sugar. A sophisticated, feminine, and enchanting sweet honey fragrance.

This should be called "Vanilla Ice Cream with a Hint of Coconut" :) I can't really smell the violet, honey, or sandalwood, but I would say this is a nice French vanilla ice cream flavor. I just had a thought that this might smell gorgeous layered with some patchouli. It's a sort of one-dimensional vanilla (in my non-expert opinion), and quite sweet, but it would be a nice frag to layer with pretty much anything to make it sweeter. Hmmm, I think layering this with Spicebomb (or another mens frag with some nice cedar, etc) would be really yummy for Fall/Winter! Anyways, overall it's a nice sweet vanilla. Not my favorite but it's nice. Especially if you want to sweeten up another scent.

SWEET SUGAR RUSH! I got a little free sample bottle of this, and wow is it sweet. All I can smell is vanilla sugar; no violets, which I would have loved, and no coconut, which I am glad for. I love vanilla, and this stuff smells delicious, but I can't see myself actually wearing it. Perhaps sweet gourmands are just not for me, because the vanilla seems to completely take over on my skin whenever it's included. If you like Honey Coconut, the good news is that it lasts a long time. 8-10 hours on me. It also layers nicely with fresh fruit scents.

I love this scent, but it doesn't last.....IT DOESN'T LAST!!! If you like quirting yourself every 15 minutes, By all means go for it. It's lovely and light (coconut & vanilla ) with a warm honey base note. It's a fresh summer scent, causal and sexy. It's frustrates me that it has no staying power....It could have been a Classic!!! P.S.... Did I mention, It doesn't Last??

This is delicious and sweet, very true honey scent. Just a little bit tropical but mostly sweet honey and a bit of warm woods. A bit sticky but not too cloying, you could wear it in a professional setting and not feel as though you're overwhelming the room. A sweet scent you could wear any time of year, it's not too heavy even for warmer months.

Warm honey,vanilla in a nice way not sickely sweet just soft and yummy. Lasts a long time on me and i can acually smell some coconut even thoug its not any In it, dont know why. Great for winter time when you want to feel warm and cosy. Really like it

I would be head-over-heels for this scent if only it lasted longer. I get this delicious violet and sandalwood with the honey on my skin, but within 30 minutes it's mainly just vanilla and sugar. By an hour, it's almost completely gone.

I thought this was a delicious scent despite the lack of coconut, however I would not buy it again as its lasting power is terrible especially for this price.
