Eau des Princes

Hello there fine reader and fellow fragrance adventurer, The first thing I notice is that Fragrantica has oddly listed this as a woman's cologne, which I find very mysterious. Fragrantica is the only place I have seen this listed as a woman's cologne. I suspect the confusion might be linguistic. Princes is the French language plural for sons of a royal family, it is NOT plural for daughters of a royal person. Princesses is the French Language plural for daughters of a monarch. Princesse (with a final e) is the singular for a daughter of a soverign. Keep in mind that I am NOT a scholar of French linguistics, and it is also possible that who ever listed this as a woman's cologne knows something that no one else knows. The next topic is that "EAU DE COLOGNE DES PRINCES pour le mouchoir et la toilette" is really nice. I totally detect the tarragon in it, and I see that as a good thing. I am happy that I own it, it is not a powerhouse nor is it eternal, but it is inexpensive and the hefty glass bottle is a bonus. The bottle holds 423 ml, and the glass is surprising heavy, but in a good way. This would make a good gift for most men who like this sort of thing.

Agree with Beavis. This smells exactly like A La Reine minus or plus one note. I was hoping to smell the “apple” in this one but I smell more of I guess the tarragon and other notes. It’s interesting as it reminds me of crisp clean laundry along with that starch spray you use to iron clothes with along with Florida Water. This also smells like it could have lavender in it so can’t much tell the difference between the two. Princes is a nice and refreshing splash to have especially if you live in constant hot weather. I just feel like if you already have one or the other, you don’t need both.

Very very pleasant cologne not sharp not masculine leaning, perfectly unisex. I pick up a natural scent no chemical notes to my nose, balsamic, aromatic, a hint of mint that I barely perceive but which gives a little kick to the fragrance, it is a sweet mint like in morrocan tea , but the fragrance is also sweet and juicy at the same time with the red juicy apple and orange. And it is a long lasting cologne, about 4 hours which is so rare in cologne fragrance. I rate it 10/10 perfect for summer and after shower, I really like it 🥰 and it is inexpensive !

A lovely citrus which I cannot wait to try out in hotter weather and which works really well on warm skin. The tarragon/mint stop shy of feeling too like mouthwash but do at a kind of menthol or eucalyptus like freshness. Lasts really well and it has a lovely quality base with no nasty aromachemical aspects. Like l'aventure it's both unisex and classy smelling...in a 90s kind of way (a good way :) )....if you know evil max this is less minty than that.

Interesting cologne I bought out of sheer curiosity. The most prominent note I get from this is lemon; very lemony fragrance. However, it is only a faint and gentle smell that isn't so striking. However, it practically feels that the scent leaves your skin as soon as you apply it.

The kind lady told me this was worn by Napoleon. Which one, though? This is how I now learned there were actually three of them. Lots of lemon, orange blossom and some kitchen-herbal coziness later on. Mint comes also late in the composition: here' it is actually a base note: a culinary and earthy mint from pre-Mojito times. I liked A La Reine des Fleurs better, but they both share the same basic juxtaposition of salivating freshness and herbal warmth, glued by different amounts of balmy lavender. And I find Piver's lavender really particular and so pleasant: no camphoraceous notes, some silky woody hues, low profile, just the soft parts, just how Johnson's Bedtime Oil should smell in some better universe.

i got this and A La Reine Des Fleurs at the same store and i think they are the same but named differently. Both smell like 4711 cologne but perhaps a top note of germolene antiseptic in this one (tarragon) which at first was oh no but now comforting as it reminds me of falling over and being cuddled by mother.

This is lovely! Smells like a cousin of 4711 and Jardin de France Cologne Extra Vieille. Super refreshing and so excellent to un-jinx any kind of bad situation.
