Upper Ten

My husband is wearing this today and I have to say this is one of my favorite male releases I have smelled him wearing. I think it is unisex. I feel rather jealous that the samples are for him lol. It opens quite aromatic with clear and clean juniper gin tonic. As it develops it becomes a delicious delight of peach brandy, spices, and resins. I can recognize Fontaine' s work here. I own many of his Jean Patou creations. There is a snobbish quality here that speaks of old money and of men retiring to a posh library for cigars and fine cognac and port. Mouthwatering and sexy without being crass this is the type of male perfume that makes women swoon. I will be buying this for my husband. It will be my favorite in his collection. He likes it a lot as well. If you miss classy, spicy, old world male fragrances this is worth a sample. Refined, but sensual. Perfect date night fragrance guys.

This is a Wonderful Scent, Elegant, Classy, Zesty, Fruity, Spicy and Woody. I read positive comments and I watched reviews on YouTube. Special Thanks to : Scent Land on YouTube. I tried it in store , then I bought it. UPPER TEN opens up with fresh spicy, floral, peach and spices notes in the background then dry down is warm spicy musky woody. The Cinnamon, Peach and Sandalwood notes are dominant in this perfume, l don't get Leather note in Upper Ten. I really enjoy it and I love it. In my opinion, Upper Ten has a very unique Composition and I haven't Similar to It in my collection. Overall , I'm so happy that I found and bought It . Longevity is good. Highly Recommended. I had a premonition before trying out this perfume. I was giving away a bottle of Cuba Brown that i rarely used as a Xmas gift. I never liked it but before giving it away I gave it a few sprays one last time, not bad actually I thought. Coincidentally that same day I received my sa!ple of upper ten. No idea what it smelled like, I gave it a spritz and whoa! It smells very similar to the cuba! Obviously the cuba smells cheap and linear compared to this but the opening is very similar. On the frag itself, I get the Lubin base found in idole but with stronger leather instead of rum. Not sure if I like it better than Idole but still very nice.

I was expecting another character perfume from House of Lubin, but I was so surprised with how wearable this perfume is. I find Upper Ten easy to pull off. It takes time while the perfume opens up and it's a bit like running through the pine forest, and in the end you reach cozy cabin where everything smells of cardamom latte. While Idole is definitely one of my top 5 perfumes, I find that its booziness stops me from wearing it frequently. Upper Ten has a tender & milky side which is very comforting. I would generally categorize this as cold weather and sweater scent. The bottle is so monumental and exquisite. Nice job Lubin.

Dark woody smoky fragrances are what started my love for them. Graduating from the Polo sports to tom ford Amber absolute is what I mean. I've spent hours upon hours and hundreds of dollars on samples of dark niche frags but I feel like I'm chasing something I can't find, I think I'm going to start going for fresh citrus scents to change things up. I say all this Bc I was expecting a knock out here and just got a ehhhhhh reaction. They all seem to be that way lately. I mean you read these notes, leather, rum, incense and sandalwood and when I go to sample, total opposite pic is painted.... Lubin Idole is still #1

Incredible, one of the most unique strong but quiet, elegant but not flashy perfume. It's clean, it's fuzzy, peachy, class. This perfume makes you feel different, like you are part of the elites. Definitely wear this only on your best days, the one when you meet important people and your outfit is on point. It tells so much stuff without being loud. It reminds me of the cold calm before the storm. You have to appreciate it slowly. What an outstanding fragrance and a unique bottle. My favorite sandalwood ever. 1000000/10

Smashingly good super dark spice laden especially what feels like piquant damp black pepper wrapped in a saffron cardamom cloud and doused in syrupy gin... Yuuummmyyyy... nothing like it except somewhat vague Close approximations like Cedro Di Taormina and CDG Blue Santal though they At the end of the day are what are advertised ie Cedar and Santal is a blue dusty woody goodness here as this is purely a dusty dark spiced gin with a leatheriness. Typical Lubin performance so no complaints...

It smells slightly fimilar to something significant but different enough that you cant put finger on it. Some how it is unique. Lasts long as skin scent but doesnt project very much. Kinda disappointed in performance based on reviews I read to be honest. Smells...significant however.

Update. The smell of this perfume reminds me of paper money, like actual bills fresh out of the bank. When I smell it, I think of the movie The Great Gatsby where everyone is throwing parties and life is good. This fragrance is an ode to success, opulence and debauchery.

Revisiting this now, and yes, its a beauty, strong, bold, yet sophisticated and intelligent. A clear statement on the person who wears it. Its extremely long lasting and powerful! Perfect quality for a high price tag!

This one has a great positive aura about it which paired up with its extremely good performance makes it a great contender for being a signature scent. Its bright & spicy, optimistic & strong. Perfect juice!

Old leather gloves worn thin. Cobblestones slick with rain. There's something sorrowful about this fragrance. It makes my heart ache.

"Upper Ten" opens with the sharp, aromatic fuzziness of citrus, cardamom and a note that smells rather like cloves, although they don't appear to be listed. If I try hard, I can sort of pick out a muted peach -more skin than flesh- and a vague floral, but soon after the top notes retreat, a very familiar base emerges, one of dry, smoked wood and sweet, booze-stained leather. Basically, it smells like "Idole" (EDP). In fact, if I were to spray "Idole" on one arm, "Upper Ten" on the other and then smell both 3 hours later, I doubt one would be able to tell much difference between them. One might say that Upper Ten is softer, greener and slightly more feminine -"Idole Lite" perhaps- but there's no denying the similarity. A bit disappointing for any fans of the brand expecting a completely new idea, but at least it smells good. It's a sweet, spicy wood scent, but that greenness lifts it out of the 'cold weather evenings' category and allows for more versatility. I would wear Upper Ten, but since I already own a bottle of Idole, I'll be eagerly looking forward to the other planned Lubin releases.

Once again a very interesting unique scent from Lubin, particularly the opening is kind of mouth watering, but at the same time deeply warming and aromatic. Imagine the juiciness of a peach exaggerated almost like a fuzzy peach candy, but at the same time a dense warm cinnamon and cardamom taking contrasting it, the bold 'fiery' type of spice you find in a Andy Tauer composition with a leathery saffron touch kind of surrounding it. The dry down is woody, ambery, a bit 'molecular' but not unbearably so. Very modern, without feeling gimmicky or desperately crowd pleasing, but at the same time I can't imagine anyone hating it. An interesting, practical all-year round day or nighttime scent for 25+, the leathery spiciness almost demands semi-formal attire. I've tried several fragrances from this brand and they're all great. If you're looking for a really good niche brand, I recommend checking out this house. Regarding this fragrance, it has a classic yet modern scent. The aroma is quite unique. It is very warm, spicy, and woody on a musky and ambery base. Geranium is a common masculine note used in this fragrance. To me, orange blossom dominates but not in a feminine format, it is in a soapy and masculine format. It is also somewhat musky and powdery, which makes this fragrance very interesting. I haven't seen too many fragrances with high spicy notes mixed with powdery-musky. This combination, with a touch of leather, adds luxury to the fragrance. All in all, this could be a good signature scent as it's versatile, unique, complex yet clean, and elegant. 8.5/10

Upper Ten opens with freshness from juniper and zest, almost a dry gin in presentation. The scent grows more herbal and spiced, being coolly aromatic rather than gourmand. Dark leather and cold woods scaffold the heart, balanced by soft florals and light fruits. The dry-down is dominated by woody notes, rounded, musky and dry, portraying a distant personality. Overall, Upper Ten is elegant but haughty. Despite what the pyramid might suggest, this scent is cold and somewhat aloof, and, to me, is best suited for formal settings and professional work. Very beautiful smelling, but slightly impersonal - a scent of intellect rather than emotion. Well worth a sample.

This is a wild ride...at first i got Reflection Man, but this one is so much more fun and complex. It shows you a note for 1 minute, then goes to another one. A great mix of cinnamon and peach with santal base. If you like Reflection Man, this is your next step. This takes it further. The peach here is the best peach note i ever smelled actually. Its like a 3D peach, ultra realistic. This one needs more time to truly show itself than the rest, it requires your patience

Fresh citrus opening with an elegant green and aromatic point similar to Essenza Acqua di Parma, but Upper is softer and less soap. Fruits and cinnamon hardly noticeable, so the soft warmth and mild creaminess of drying the wood and provide a soft cloth that produces feelings and nuances in very clean and minimalist nose. Although it feels like a kind of pleasant eau de toilette sport court lacks projection and clarity. Rating: 5.5

It opens up with a fleeting zap of citrus that works its way down into a grassy, creamy aromatic cedar/sandalwood mix, and ends up bouncing around on a spicy, musky ambrette. All this with a clean leather base & a nice balmy sweetness that shines after drying. Another perfume from Lubin that I think is great! It's robust, engrossing, ever-present, has a great bottle and a great name.

Really great light and bright spiced fragrance with a musky clean base. It it part fougere, part amouage quality spices (epic man comes to mind) and part classic cologne. Really nice interesting fragrance that I think could work for the office for someone who wants to have a unique profile.

Picking up the Bergamont, juniper berries and loads of pink pepper. The geranium comes into play next alongside cardamom and cinnamon. The sandalwood is quite strong with a hint of leather and musk.

Upper Ten seems to be in a class all by itself as an enthusiastic crowd pleasing scent, it captures the spirit of celebration very well. It's definitely a daytime scent that can be worn in all seasons but it really excells when used for special occasions that call for a carefree and joyful celebration. I wore it to see the NFL Pittsburgh Steelers vs Cincinnati Bengals in Cincinnati recently and I was amazed on how many compliments I received from a variety of people...It gets noticed, appreciated and has a place at major events! Please be advised that Upper Ten is probably not designed to win an intimacy award but it will, most certainly, add life and spirit to special occasions and celebrations.

This is an awesome fragrance, a little tricky in the opening,, kinda like one of those mall colognes such as 1 million and invictus and the likes.. but wait til you hit the mid notes.. awesome blend of geranium, cinnamon, and juniper berries.. projection is fair to good last quite a while in the skin.. sillage is about an arms length.. very cozy indeed. smells similar to xerjoff don on the dry down. got tons of compliments during the cold weather.. bravo house of LUBIN..

I'm confused. I had a few samples of Upper ten several years ago and I loved it. It smelled like Big League Chew bubble gum, to me but better. My problem is that I'm not sure if it was this one or for her. I'm a woman so you'd think I'd be drawn to for her but I've loved a few men's scents enough to wear myself. I don't recall it smelling masculine or feminine in any traditional sense. I feel like the pic on the envelope was of the men's bottle but not positive.

To me this smells like a spicier, woodier, more masculine (for lack of a better term) version of Serge Lutens’ Daim Blond. That is to say there is that very distinctive peach and leather combination which is akin to the smell of leather seats in a new car. Unlike other reviewers, I do not find this perfume easy to pull off due to the very distinctive combination of notes that’s either love or hate. On the other hand that bottle is so cool!

This is soapy. Like a creamy soapy lemon essence with a hint of spices and mostly it's cardamom. i don't detect any cinnamon. Amber, sandalwood, and cedar shows up after 3 to 4 minutes. After 6 minutes, some delicate sweetness shows up calming the sharpness of lemon and the soapy mix. It requires more time and more testes in order to decide where it is heading too.

i get big, chewy bubblegum sweetness in this. synth sandalwood (nuthin' wrong wit' dat) and cinnamon, i would say. it reminds me of something it reminds me of, can't quite put my finger on it. 'sacred wood' by kilian? 'santal carmin' by atelier? it leans more towards the femme side of things, for mine. i think i like it, but it's not blowing me away...

The opening is kind of weird and reminds me of *something*, seems like I get saffron from it. Reminds me of the cinnamon-y aspect of those older Early American Old Spice openings. It kind of seems like 1 Million with a massive decrease on the sweetness. Just kind of smells like an 'off' Big Red chewing gum. Pretty boring from what I've smelled so far.

for me this scent has an incense vibe I don't know why? huh I would definitely put it in that category of wearable incense/myrrh fragrances But it has that slight undertone for me. Great "white" fragrance and smells clean. but not typically white/ clean. definitely as a daily scent office friendly (if you are the head of the department) haha

@mikecch I couldn't have said it any better. It's a great scent, yet not likeable in a way. Impressive, but the opposite of a crowd pleaser, despite smelling good. Something about the woods, hard to explain. I'm happy I smelled a sample, but will not want a full bottle

I really like 'Idole de Lubin', 'Galaad', 'Korrigan' and 'Akkad', but 'Upper Ten'is not my cup of tea. It always reminds me of cheap and synthetic smelling shower gel. Anyway, it ́s a well constructed scent in a wonderful bottle. Just a bit generic..

It is woody cologne and leather is supporter for give depth for this cologne.It's scent is beautiful. 7/10
