Tropical Gardenia

Gorgeous. Gardenia and coconut, although the coconut isn't listed. It smells like the best day at the beach you could ever have. I don't mean just a day at the beach. I'm conjuring a day at a private, secluded island off the coast of some remote tropical resort, that was rented for you and your party alone. A crew has been hired to wait on your every desire, hand and foot, with every beach-wish you ever had for a day at the shore fulfilled - on the spot. The only responsibility you have is to smell divine, and you are holding up your end of the bargain. That, and not spilling your drink. Absolutely fabulous...I feel famous when I wear this.

If you love Tiare flower, you will love this one!!! I l o v e !!!!!tropical gardenia actually surprised me, I thought t was going to be real pungent, and it turns out to be my favorite scent by lucy B, so if your thinking about it, i say do it, you wont be disappointed :)

By far the most realistic gardenia scent I have ever tried. It has that buttery, almost coconut-y note that I smell in real gardenias growing in my garden. Not too sweet- just perfect.

Oddly enough, it was only yesterday that I encountered for the very first time a gardenia-champaca-magnolia perfume (Annick Goutal UN MATIN D'ORAGE), and by some sort of cosmic coincidence, I find myself wearing another one today: Lucy B TROPICAL GARDENIA. The notes revealed in the gushing prose of my carded sample are these: top: champaca, magnolia middle: vanilla blossom and honey amber I gather from the name, and the scent, that gardenia is in here somewhere, too! TROPICAL GARDENIA is really quite lovely, less sharp and spicy than AG's gardenia-champaca-magnolia, and just a touch sweeter. This is a creamy floral delight, with less gardenia, and more of a tropical vibe. I like this relatively linear creation with medium sillage and decent longevity a lot, and can definitely see acquiring a full bottle under the right circumstances (retail therapy, reckless spending, self-induced amnesia as to the current extent of my collection--the list goes on and on... I tried 3 Lucy B frags unsniffed . . .this one, Pink Frangipani and Egyption Amber . . . Tropical Gardenia at first spritz seemed waay too strong (go lightly with this one) and even my 68 yr old mom said it smelled like "old lady" flowers. BUT after an hour I kept getting this very pretty waft of Spring. BTW the sillage is amazing. Its a bit more floral than i usually prefer and I didnt get any of the warming notes described on the label but it evolved nicely after a while and I will wear it these spring and summer nights. I would highly recommend to gardenia lovers and true floral lovers.

I blind-bought this based on the positive reviews, and I am definitely not disappointed! :) It's a fantastic gardenia and magnolia scent (which comes across almost as coconut milk.) It makes me feel happy, and like I am on vacation somewhere warm and relaxing. So far, it's still going strong (nearly five hours after application, having lasted through an hour-long gym workout). It makes me want to explore more from this line (which I have never heard of or smelled before).

I do get a lot of gardenia but also the orchid. I am a huge fan of orchids. It is flowery but not overwhelming, cause I do get also the wood, musk and green notes in the back. Very well balanced with an accent on the flowers. J'aime :-)

Smells pretty much like the name implies: tropical gardenia. Very dewy, which makes it feel very tropical. I don't get any orchid, musk, or woodsy notes, but that could be my chemistry amplifying the gardenia (which would be typical), and I agree with sherapop that it's somewhat linear. I don't find it sharp (which is amazing, since white florals have a tendency to do me in), but I do find it loud. The sillage is incredible, the longevity impressive, and it feels like a good quality scent. I should note that in cooler weather, I can easily detect a note of coconut suntanning oil in the background of this fragrance, which I rather enjoy.

This was a very unlucky blind buy for me. For some reason it comes out a little almondy on me (even though there`s no almond in the notes even) and I find that smell a bit sickening. Maybe my bottle is off??? Because my experience does not seem to be along the same lines as others. Other reviewers have referred to it smelling natural, and I very much agree with that. It`s not a perfumy perfume.

The brand behind this scent, Lucy B, has a very cozy and spiritual approach to perfume. They use pure organic, essential oils in their perfumes, for an aromatherapeutic healing effect, and also Australian Bush Flower Essences, for vibrational healing. It's a very holistic appraoch to perfume, and I kind of like the idea. To the scent itself: Tropical Gardenia comes off as a bit hairspray-ish to begin with, but that only last for a couple of minutes. When the hairspray vibe goes away, this scent blooms and becomes a gorgeous, smooth and somewhat green tropical floral. It's not a loud scent, it's very soft and sheer - and dries down to a skin scent - almost like a thin veil of gardenia caressing the skin. Tropical Gardenia is intoxicating and pleasant at the same time - summer in a bottle. Sillage is moderate/soft, and longevity is also on the moderate side. A great scent for lazy summer days.

This is so beautiful on my skin. A waft of realistic gardenia meets your nose first, luscious blossoms at the height of their bloom, ready to drop off the gardenia bush. The topnotes are heavy and soft at the same time. The heady indoles (sexy but not skanky) are a bit overwhelming at first but as the other elements come in, you are presented with a glorious beauty, so green and realistic. It's like sitting in a garden on a warm day next to a gardenia bush and picking the petals and putting them into a basket with wooden staves. The musk is prominent in the drydown and the woods come in prominently as well. This scent is sexy and sultry, like warm skin with a tiny sheen of sweat. This one will make you want to get cozy with your significant other. It's quite floral but I think a confident man could be the Pied Piper wearing this fragrance to a club or on a date. Wow is all I can say!

This is the most realistic gardenia scent I have ever found. It really smells like the fresh flowers do when they're in bloom. So much so, that you have to watch out for bees following you when outdoors. The scent isn't strong and doesn't last very long, but wouldn't you rather smell great up close and be able to reapply as needed than be engulfed in a powerful cloud of synthetic "floral" smell? I would & the little rollerball applicator fits easily into an evening bag.

Quick thoughts: Initial synthetic blast followed by heavy sun-tan lotion. Not really getting any floral notes. A no-go for me. Scrubber. For pretty and true gardenia try Estee Lauder Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia. For realistic gardenia with the mushroom note try Tom Ford Velvet Gardenia or Serge Luten Une Voix. For the Serge Luten, the gardenia accord reveals a few minutes after the initial spray & mushroom note.

Smells like gardenia and suntan lotion. Not for me, but I don't hate it.

All I get is coconut. Lots of coconut. I hate coconut.
