Lulu Guinness

Edgy, strictly floral! No musk, no wood, no vanilla, no spice, nothing but flowers (I didn't get any citrus). Not sweet in any way. A daring (towards bankrupcy) and unique perfume. Brave, bold and straight to the point. Good job! Having only flowers composition, all the flowers are equally screaming for attention at the same time. This is not a rounded perfume. It's full of edges since there's nothing to tame the flowers down. Not even sweet rose to smoothen it up. It's fresh and green all the way through. Quite a long way too, I must say. Six-eight hours without any of the flowers giving up. This perfume ain't seeking any common ground. It's not even looking for compromise. You either love it or hate it. It's not trying to please anyone either. Maybe this is why I love it so much. It's very unlikely that I would come across anything that smell similar to this. It's great for hot and humid climate where I live. Nothing turn sour, musty or dirty even when you sweat a litre away. The most beautiful bottle of the collection. Ceramic bottle is a plus since it protects the juice from sunlight. Cherishing my 100 mL now since it's not available in this country.

What a lovely surprise Lulu Guinness is! I'd never even heard of it before Sarah Mayes mentioned it in one of her recent "hauls" videos. When she mentioned that it was a nice white/green floral and incredibly inexpensive, I went ahead and ordered it as it was less than $3! One of the earlier reviewers here (kikikikris) described LG beautifully as an "edgy, strictly floral" perfume -- all edges, "fresh and green all the way through." Yup, exactly! I smell the lily of the valley, a LOT of lily, and sweet pea, which has a sharp, greenness to it that I recognize from the unabashedly floral My Burberry (which I adore!). The lily is reminiscent, a bit, of Cartier Baiser Vole, but the drydown of both fragrances resemble each other more than do the first sprays; they both share a kind of clean shampoo vibe, very pleasant, if you enjoy sharp, green white florals. LG strikes me as a very nice and refreshing scent for warm to hot weather, if you're into very floral-green fragrances, and longevity seems to be moderate (c. 4 hrs.), not bad for a super cheap perfume!

My first foray back into Lulu Guinness since shortly after it's debut some 17 years ago. Lulu Guinness is a bouquet of green fresh BIG white flowers, very suitable for springtime. To my nose, the lily, LOTV and sweet pea dominate and I'm not sure I can distinguish any other notes. I'm not really getting any fruity top notes nor any sense of powder. I could swear I get honeysuckle in there, but it's likely the lovely blend of floral goodness that brings that to mind. Not something I'd wear all the time, but for me a cross between Alfred Sung Sung and Donna Karan Gold, two fumes I have and love. It's a solid performer, good longevity and enough throw that I can catch whiffs of it for hours. @myricle has me chuckling at her review. So true. Funny, I was in my late 30s when I tried this the first time and now I'm...well I'm in my 50s. I didn't think it was an "old lady" scent then, and I certainly wouldn't wear it if I thought it was now...funny how tastes change over generations. Has it really been almost 20 years? *old lady shaking fist at the clouds*

My favourite flower - the ethereal, divine, sweet, perfectly adorable lily-of-the-valley! Gosh I adore this little treasure. It's so pretty and fresh and delicate. And this gorgeous perfume! It's strong, very green and flowery. Lots of lovely flowers. Sweet and profuse. Lovely lovely lovely. It's so fresh and feminine, long lasting and gentle; even though it's strong, it's not at all harsh. It's truly a delightful garden of flowers. Fabulous.

I have had this for ages and sort of forgot about it, but the bottle is so cute--the fragrance comes close to matching it. I think it was sent to me when I belonged to a cosmetics subscription club, and I wore it a few times, then forgot about it. But it's a really nice little green floral, and it's surprisingly potent despite its retro-sweet girly bottle.
