Lulu Guinness

Edgy, strictly floral! No musk, no wood, no vanilla, no spice, nothing but flowers (I didn't get any citrus). Not sweet in any way. A daring (towards bankrupcy) and unique perfume. Brave, bold and straight to the point. Good job! Having only flowers composition, all the flowers are equally screaming for attention at the same time. This is not a rounded perfume. It's full of edges since there's nothing to tame the flowers down. Not even sweet rose to smoothen it up. It's fresh and green all the way through. Quite a long way too, I must say. Six-eight hours without any of the flowers giving up. This perfume ain't seeking any common ground. It's not even looking for compromise. You either love it or hate it. It's not trying to please anyone either. Maybe this is why I love it so much. It's very unlikely that I would come across anything that smell similar to this. It's great for hot and humid climate where I live. Nothing turn sour, musty or dirty even when you sweat a litre away. The most beautiful bottle of the collection. Ceramic bottle is a plus since it protects the juice from sunlight. Cherishing my 100 mL now since it's not available in this country.

What a lovely surprise Lulu Guinness is! I'd never even heard of it before Sarah Mayes mentioned it in one of her recent "hauls" videos. When she mentioned that it was a nice white/green floral and incredibly inexpensive, I went ahead and ordered it as it was less than $3! One of the earlier reviewers here (kikikikris) described LG beautifully as an "edgy, strictly floral" perfume -- all edges, "fresh and green all the way through." Yup, exactly! I smell the lily of the valley, a LOT of lily, and sweet pea, which has a sharp, greenness to it that I recognize from the unabashedly floral My Burberry (which I adore!). The lily is reminiscent, a bit, of Cartier Baiser Vole, but the drydown of both fragrances resemble each other more than do the first sprays; they both share a kind of clean shampoo vibe, very pleasant, if you enjoy sharp, green white florals. LG strikes me as a very nice and refreshing scent for warm to hot weather, if you're into very floral-green fragrances, and longevity seems to be moderate (c. 4 hrs.), not bad for a super cheap perfume!

My first foray back into Lulu Guinness since shortly after it's debut some 17 years ago. Lulu Guinness is a bouquet of green fresh BIG white flowers, very suitable for springtime. To my nose, the lily, LOTV and sweet pea dominate and I'm not sure I can distinguish any other notes. I'm not really getting any fruity top notes nor any sense of powder. I could swear I get honeysuckle in there, but it's likely the lovely blend of floral goodness that brings that to mind. Not something I'd wear all the time, but for me a cross between Alfred Sung Sung and Donna Karan Gold, two fumes I have and love. It's a solid performer, good longevity and enough throw that I can catch whiffs of it for hours. @myricle has me chuckling at her review. So true. Funny, I was in my late 30s when I tried this the first time and now I'm...well I'm in my 50s. I didn't think it was an "old lady" scent then, and I certainly wouldn't wear it if I thought it was now...funny how tastes change over generations. Has it really been almost 20 years? *old lady shaking fist at the clouds*

My favourite flower - the ethereal, divine, sweet, perfectly adorable lily-of-the-valley! Gosh I adore this little treasure. It's so pretty and fresh and delicate. And this gorgeous perfume! It's strong, very green and flowery. Lots of lovely flowers. Sweet and profuse. Lovely lovely lovely. It's so fresh and feminine, long lasting and gentle; even though it's strong, it's not at all harsh. It's truly a delightful garden of flowers. Fabulous.

I have had this for ages and sort of forgot about it, but the bottle is so cute--the fragrance comes close to matching it. I think it was sent to me when I belonged to a cosmetics subscription club, and I wore it a few times, then forgot about it. But it's a really nice little green floral, and it's surprisingly potent despite its retro-sweet girly bottle.

Just got a one ounce spray of this--green, fresh, white flowers--right in my wheelhouse!! I love Sung, Sung Forever, Jessica McClintock, etc!! I try a lot of different kinds of scents, but I always come back to green florals in warm weather!! And the bottle reminds me of Nanette Lapore's pretty hand painted opaque ones!Not pricey either!SCORE!

I had an option, and bought it blindly, and, wow, what a pleasant surprise!!! This Lily-of-the-valley is good, really good!! In my nose it's a blend of YR Nature and Diors Diorissimo, I only have a small tester, but, I must seriously consider to hunt for a full bottle!!!!!

This is so floral, which I love, and, not that I ́ve smelled every fragrance ever, but I don ́t think it smells like anything else. So, if you want to smell a little different, I recomend this. I ́m addicted!

I get mostly lily of the valley from this. It lasts for 5-6 hours on me. For me, personally, it's headache inducing so I will not be wearing this again anytime soon...

When I first sprayed this and let it settle a little, the first thing I thought was "baby lotion". That what this stuff smells like. A lot of the reviewers here are going in on the scent and I don't know what that's about. It's a simple lovely fragrance. The real problem with it is it doesn't last much longer than an hour on the skin or clothes. And it basically has no throw. You'd get more throw using actual baby lotion. I'm going to shelve this stuff and pull it out again when the weather gets warmer; see how it does then. The bottle's really cute though. And very portable.

I really like this - to the point where it's making me re-think my supposed favorite notes. It's a lovely green scent, white florals, fresh, soft. It's like it wants to be sweet, thanks to the sweet pea, but just ends up being a very accessible, pleasant floral blend. It's surprisingly light, but also has a certain presence to it that when you smell it, you know someone is trying because they sprayed a capital-p Perfume. I would not wear this every day, but a decant or a travel bottle of this would be pleasant in my rotation!

This perfume i have had for a long time now & i love the gentle floral fresh smell. On me it doesnt last very long though, it can be smelt if im snuggled up close to (not a bad thing eh!) but i cant smell it on my wrists. I havnt worn this for a while though because its so floral, i prefer florals in warmer weather & as we have had the worst winter in decades this year in the UK this perfume was not even thought about. Its a great perfume for making you feel fresh & fragrant on a warm day.

Purchased for the adorable bottle and it's a fairly straightforward floral that works well for spring daytime wear. Projects more than I thought it would. The greenness gives some contrast and keeps it from being too sweet. Smells like a freshly-picked bouquet at first, but the clementine note becomes prominent about an hour in, rendering some fizziness. I love that fruit so this was a winner for me. Lasts all day so that's a bonus.

Like others, I blind bought this because I collect mini bottles, this was cute, and it put me over the free shipping threshold. The first time I wore it I didn't notice it much during the day, but the second and third times made me a fan. Lasts longer than most florals seem to, and it's not overly sweet. I am usually a fan of heavier scents, so I was delighted to find a daytime scent I truly enjoy.

I bought the tiny bottle because of the feminine retro vibe, and was pleased to find a white floral bouquet inside! Reminds me of Pleasures but with more of what I like. A unique mix of white flowers. I wish it lasted longer.

i saw the bottle, i had never heard of the frag and wanted to try it, smells like a florist, but i liked it, not as good as anais anais, but if you like the really floral stuff, give it a try

This is super similar to Forbidden Games by Kilian. I have both and they serve the same purpose - nice girly fragrance for everyday. Very pretty.

Like The1Angela, I also needed one cheap item to qualify for free shipping on fragrancenet and picked up the mini parfum of this. I was always curious about this scent, as I used to see it on offer around the holidays a few years back. This is very pretty floral green fragrance, with the strongest note LOTV complete with stems and leaves. It stands out and is there from beginning to end in this fragrance despite all the other floral notes. The overall profile has a watery, refreshing feel, like the scent of flowers after a rain, though it is not aquatic. I'm surprise that this doesn't feel juvenile considering that bottle, which is cute and makes me think of teenage girls for some reason. It is surprisingly more sophisticated than that bottle would leave you to believe. Brings to mind fragrances like Avon Haiku, as it has that same green floral watery aspect that is here. Edit 11/23 - Tested Florist by Ellis Brooklyn and this smells remarkably like that. Did a side-by-side comparison and while this is a little lighter, it almost smells the same.

This is a strong perfume. Very floral and soapy and just a bit to green. I have to be in the right mood to wear this one, which is not often. The first few notes are a punch of florals. Then comes the green and soapy slap in the face. Overall it's not a bad perfume but just too strong and soapy for me. If you feel like getting beat up by flowers? lol then this is for you!! :)

I really want to love this adorable perfume. I really do love the clean and vintage floral notes of it. It's not syrupy sweet either which is both hard to find and lovely. It matches winged eyeliner and sundress days PERFECTLY. Unfortunately it disagrees with me, so if I wear this perfume for too long, or if I overspray a bit, it gives me headaches. :(

I tried a small bottle of this but was not impressed at all. This smells like an old saloon. In a bad way. I'm not sure what's off about it but it's best to use your money on something else.

Save your money and buy something else. Any bath body works fragrances deserve more of your attention than this. I am Returning immediately.

I was hoping for something more. My fault though, there are no woods in the base. So it really doesn't go anywhere. I bought it because so many reviews mentioned that is was a lily of the valley perfume. I love lily of the valley; however, this to me just smells like a 90s shampoo. Which is fine-- but not what I was hoping for. It has that sharp original clairol herbal essence scent-- with the mermaid on it. The scent stays green and sharp. I paired it with Bath and Body works Night blooming jasmine cream. Which is also green smelling and fresh. However, I would prefer this perfume had more depth. So to sum up-- this perfume is great to gift a little girl with-- or after a bath before bed.

I get a very strong nail polish remover/acetone smell at first. It fades after a while but stays noticeable throughout. I’m surprised how unfloral this is on me, given the notes and previous reviews. It dries down to a lotion smell, with a medicated, almost camphorous edge. La Vierge de Fer by Serge Lutens kept coming to mind when I wore Lulu this morning; something about the combination of lotion and acetone that resembles the lily and metallic notes of that scent. I’d be disappointed if I had paid more but, as others have said, it was less than $2 and I like the nice, tiny bottle.

As other reviews have stated, this is very green. Nothing warm or sugared happening here whatsoever. Green leaves, green stems, dewy white waxy spring flowers on a crisp morning. Very buttoned up, nothing sexy going on. A perfect scent for when you want to give off a clean, no nonsense, ladylike impression. This is for the office or church, not a seduction. Wear this with your shift dress and cardigan. Reminds me quite a bit of Alfred Sung Pure, that same clean and green floral vibe.

My signature perfume. Just the right amount of green floral and I love the lily of the valley and sweet pea. A wonderful floral bouquet without the awful sweet smells. I am venturing out to find another perfume who can live up to this one for me (since it does smell wonderful with my chemistry). Because, I find most perfume; including this one, do not last long on me. Any suggestions welcome!

Dry Lily of the Valley bomb. Muted grassiness. Not as grassy as Jessica McClintock It doesn’t really get sweet or evolve but I layer with Musky or amber scents so the fact I got to t cheap I don’t mind experimenting with it. This is not a complex scent at all. Will need another layer. Diorissimo??? Forget about it

Lulu smells somewhat similar to Gwen Stefani L, but much better. The white florals are not as high pitched as in L. Lulu has a slightly sweeter and more tolerable scent. Like Perfumedsecret said in a previous review; "a retro lily". It's definitely different. All in all, I like it.

I like to keep this in my bag for a quick spray on my way when i am running late. I would not say it is rare or one of a kind. Hence, it isn't a big favourite of mine. This is a very ordinary white floral bouquet which happens to last long on my skin, so I don't mind it.

It is a very lovely fragrance for spring/summer day time wear. When I purchased it I received a solid powdered perfume with mirrow locket. I receive alot of compliments and it also last long with no added sprays.

This is a very strong floral very much like Jessica Mclintock. Lots of Lilly of the Valley. Its gorgeous and long lasting also just like Jessica Mclintock.

Musky Florals. Budding Sexuality in the Springtime. An inexpensive favorite of mine. Cute bottle. Very good sillage.

A retro lily, but that's all I got from it. I got it on clearance and ended up returning it.

Guinness perfume bottles are gorgeous I may buy one just because of the bottle.:)

Full of flowers, like a botanical garden... and long lasting too.
