Arabian Oud Parfum

Wow I’m so impressed. I am that person who generally despises heavy combination of rose and sandalwood. Lo and behold, rose and oud with bergamot gives this creation such a lighter twist. My brain tells me that it should be heavy and unwearable. But my nose is telling me this is gorgeous and you should wear it all the time. Such a surprise! Love it. Lasts for about 4-5 hours on my skin.

An almost familiar oud and rose combination, with some citrus at the start and quite sweet woods in the base. Both sandalwood and patchouli are listed as base notes, but neither is really distinctive. Most closely resembles Zegna's Indonesian Oud (the original EDT version), but there are some differences. This Lumira Arabian Oud is VERY strong and the rose has a very nice peppery quality to it; reminding me of that white pepper quality you can find in frankincense. To my nose, this doesn't really resemble any of the now familiar designer oud fragrances (aside from the Zegna) that have been so commonplace over the last decade. First impression is very good. I'll be testing this over the next few days to see what a proper wear reveals. At least it's got me interested in a relatively new Australian perfume house. I'll be trying out some of their other offerings for sure.
