1000 Kisses

The opening of 1000 Kisses Deep is wonderful but strange. There is a slightly weird note in there which could for some people tip over into repellent. It's a fine line. Lush loves to tease us like this - is it nice or is it nasty? I really like it though. Fizzy orange and juicy apricot, but not overly sweet or sticky. As joyful and exuberant as fruit notes can be. There's also a slightly retro feel, perhaps from the richness of the resin and labdanum. On first sniff I thought of chypres of yore, but only fleetingly. Romantic but not immature. Nothing like the berry, pear and praline inflected gourmands on the market today. 1000 Kisses Deep combines simplicity with a touch of old-world glamour. I can't think of anything quite like it. Very much worth your skin time. Rather linear though. That's my only criticism. Lasts well on my skin but the sillage is light. Edit: I'm enjoying this more and more. The juiciness of the opening lingers for ages but it is not like, for instance, Atelier's Orange Sanguine, which is beautiful but essentially baseless, all sunshine and oranges and nothing else. Here, there is a perpetual reminder that where there is light there is also darkness. I like to pretend I'm wearing one of those really old, romantic but inky-hearted fragrances from Patou or Caron.

Review for the liquid perfume: As with all Lush fragrances, this one is a weird one. The initial blast is a soapy-sweet orange. There's a rather odd note in it, a note that I can't quite pinpoint. Neither pleasant nor vile, but quite unsettling. Then 1000 Kisses Deep dries down to something I can only describe as golden Coca-Cola. It has the same happy, joyful, dark fizz with big synthetic scents and flavours. But fruitier and even more happy. A bit more natural as well. I think of it as a cross between a big cold glass of iced tea (not the lipton kind, but homemade tea) and a glass of Coca-Cola. Smelling this perfume was a very special experience. Never before had I enjoyed the olfactory equivalent of such a physical phenomenon as the bubbles in coke. The sheer happiness in this perfume made me long for spring and summer.

Opens with Long Island iced tea Dries down into Negroni (so it’s a love for me) Now you can also call it 1000 Kisses after cocktails. Delicious!! Unpopular opinion: I do not perceive it to be a complex fragrance. It just has depth, vibration (booziness), and remarkable transformations through phases: from aromatic, spicy, lemony, apricotty osmanthus to resinous lemony soft myrrh and labdanum. Despite its heavier base surfacing, the scent remains sheer and fresh. I do not get incense or leather nuance. This earthy spicy caraway, which is present throughout the longevity, mixed with the oriental/ambery quality and some sparkling citrusy orangy fruits also do remind me of Coco Chanel EDT....which I love. Thank goodness the mandarin is not too strong in this one.

this scent is the only thing i’ve ever encountered that warrants a leonard-cohen-inspired namesake. it’s mesmerizing. it’s a jammy apricot and mandarin on top with smooth, resinous, ambery myrrh under it. even with a fairly accurate description, you cannot understand how this smells without spraying it and smelling it on your skin. it’s sexy, vibrant, and inviting. as far as “scent as art” goes, this is without a doubt my favorite i’ve ever smelled, but it’s very wearable and is one of the only scents i’ve smelled that i think would stun in any occasion, season, or time of day. please do yourself the favor of getting a sniff of this

Who would have thought I would enjoy something so fruity? On the other hand this is not your usual fruity floral, what it is one of those ambrosial fruity resiny concoctions that just aren't made often enough, if they were fruity would actually probably have a spot in my fragrance wardrobe. This uses osmanthus absolute which is an incredibly erotic scent that hints at jasmine, hay, and apricots paired with the juicy real orange at the beginning of the scent and the sweet resins in the dry down it makes for a scent that makes me think of the phrase "butterfly nectar". The scent is strangely light and airy but with oomph.

This was gifted to me almost 10 years ago and I've been fascinated by it ever since. This scent feels decadent yet clean at the same time. I'm enjoying the brightness of the osmanthus and citrus opening; however, the drydown into myrrh and labdanum is what makes this scent shine. The base is earthy, warm, and creamy-- the perfect skin scent. The transition is a bit odd; it reminds me of marine vinyl in a way, but I'm willing to endure a bit of awkwardness for the intimate blend that follows.

In 2020 I was searching for “Dirty” from Lush, but instead I got 1000 Kisses Deep and I fell in love with it! Its smell is very intricate-from sweetness of myrrh and labdanum to sparkly notes of mandarin and peachy notes of osmanthus and I could never thought that this comfy, warm and such peculiar scent will suit so much-I’m usually a floral scents enthusiast, hahah Well, I’m going to buy it again! Will definitely recommend this scent to everyone who loves citruses and balsamic scents :3

Simply delicious. Mandarin orange and deep resins create a warm but light cloud of deep orange colour around you. One of these scents that simply make you feel good. Complicated enough to keep you interested. Deep enough to have some staying power. Its yummy, like an exotic mandarine apricot jam with spices, the kind of rarity you can find in Italy, made by an artisan, wrapped in a handmade tie around the top, sold in a shop with antique wood panelling. Really enjoying this one.

My perfume is in a clear square 30ml bottle with a black label named 1000 KISSES DEEP! Wear it in spring or autumn if you want to feel like an mandarin orange tree in bloom but also with quite a few heavy fruits at the same time. The first half hour is narcotically sharp with bitter orange almost. But then after 30 minutes or so you're there among all the mandarin orange trees! it's so unique and beautiful! Like wearing art!

Wow, this scent is like a dream that you don't ever want to wake up from. The minute I opened the solid parfume (which I purchased to see if I would like it and sooooo glad I did) it was like a song that gives you chills because it is so beautiful. Will add this to my list of most loved of all time fragrance. Thank you Lush. Highly recommended that everyone atleast smell this intoxicating love scent.

Ohhoh. This was completely different from what I imagined this to be. To my nose this opens with a sweet but bitter peel of an orange, but quickly settles into, what I think is green tuberose with a little licorice and some nuance mostly reminiscent of balloons( ? )or raw rubber .... Well, no tuberose, licorice or balloons are mentioned, so .... 😂😂

The smell is fantastic, captivating. I honestly cannot detect any specific notes in there. However the longevity is ridiculously low, especially for the price. For that reason I don't recommend.

What a stunningly beautiful fragrance it smells like Christmas days gone by to my nose with osmmathus and mandarin peel it give me that warm cozy feeling and nostalgia stunnig

I thought this was going to be a fruity, sweet sugary scent. But not at all! It's light, airy, fresh and musky. It reminds me of Clair de Musc from Serge Lutens.

I love this. As much as I love it, it has the tendency to sit on the verge of being soapy on my skin but still - versatile, suitable for an office for sure.

I love this! It smells like Dr. Pepper. It would be a hands down signature scent for me if it lasted longer. I only got about 2 hours wear before it died :(

I had never tried a Lush fragrance before. (Thanks LittleRed for the sample!) If this is what osmanthus smells like -- sign me up! I like this! Such a juicy, juicy flower! I think Vie Cafe's review most closely resembles how I feel about this fragrance. I, too, want to say it has a mint in there; however, now that I know it's geranium, it makes more sense (I'm surprised it isn't listed as one of the readers' top notes, actually). For me, apricots are the prominent fruit in 1000 Kisses. Yes, there's something sweet about it, but not in a "baked cupcakes" way -- more along the lines of B&BW's Cherry Blossom. At first dab I thought it might be too strong, too odd and quirky, but I was hooked after 2 seconds. The drydown comes quickly enough, leaving such a different-smelling musk behind.

Lush always makes powerhouse scents, this is no exception. It's like a Lime/Orange Otter Pop punch to the face! If you don't know what an Otter pop is I greeve for your childhood... but I digress. It starts off with an almost Margarita scent, citrus, balmy booze and sharpness. It then softens out but it always maintains this sharp dusty lime note that fights with the Mandarin orange for dominance. If 1000 Kisses actually mellowed out into a Mandarin/Labdanum blend like it TRIES to do, it would be amazing. ...but on me the lime smell is too fake, I can't stop thinking of otter pops or car freshener. If you love sugar rimmed lemon drops you will like this.

This is a Christmas morning Bucks Fizz, that some sneak spiked with Jagermeister. The first perfume my now-husband bought for me, right back when we were teenagers in the B Never days, it was my only perfume. Since then, I've explored B/Gorilla/Lush's various other offerings. 1000 Kisses occupies a less complex space than many of their others (Stayin' Alive) for example, but it is a great whiff of citrussy energy, that has asort of herby rumbling under it. It does not last as long on me as some other Lushy perfumes such as Breath of God, but I don't mind re-spraying this one as I don't feel the dry down is dramatically different to the initial spray.

Very lovely, but it's just not meant to be for me. The fruity/powdery/incense is a very nice blend, however, it's much too intense a scent for me to be submerged in. For those with less sensitive systems, or perhaps skin that resists hanging onto scent, go for it! Fantastic longevity and sillage. It is a powdery gourmand in the same intensity vein as Karma or Lust, in my opinion. Test on paper before skin if you are sensitive! *you have been warned!*

1000 kisses deep makes me think of when you kiss someone it starts off very passionate, fiery, blood rushing up to your head, heat in your face and then things mellow down and you just melt into each other. Soft and smooth I'm quite surprised that the citrus that is so in your face in the beginning and bright doesn't over stay its welcome and mellow down to be something so smooth and beautiful

Fizzy, fruity, exuberant, yet not cloyingly sweet... there's a lovely, spicy, balsamic bitterness that keeps things grounded and just a little bit confusing. To take this one over the top, I pair it with Tom Ford Lost Cherry. The apricot-tinged bitterness which I believe is the true heart of 1000 Kisses makes an incredible base for Lost Cherry's gourmet fantasy.

Delightful white floral without being just another jasmine, but a very delicate one. Potentially too delicate even.

love this scent, those warm citrusy notes really shine through. however, I wish it stayed on the skin longer :-/

Smells like you're trapped in an 80's computer room, stuffy but not dusty. I echo the "public bathroom" comment - once I smelled it, the connection wouldn't go away. The citrus here cuts through the cold and plasticky, fog-like resins. Oddly, the more I type, the more I find this scent reminds me of computer parts. It smells naturally made, but evokes the image of synthetic materials (i.e., plastic). I do find many citrus-resin scents share this weird and off-putting (to me) smell. Immediately, Absolu by Rochas comes to mind. The citrus, floral, and resin combination creates a stale and sour smell that I have a hard time perceiving as anything but a fragrance that has gone off. It is probably, most certainly, the bitter citrus creating the impression of a good resinous perfume turning sour. Sorry if this review makes no sense, the smell of 1000 Kisses Deep is equally confusing to me. I don't think I would ever wear this one - it's interesting but doesn't create the pleasure response in me that drives me to want to wear a scent.

Lemon bomb. So much lemon and citrus, like you squeezed lemons onto yourself and then rubbed the peel for good measure. There’s also some amber with a touch of leather. I have to really press my nose into my skin to smell those notes, though. There is a tiny bit of spiciness and sweetness coming through, but it's not well balanced. In the drydown, the citrus becomes less screechy and the subtle sweetness and spiciness come through a bit more. It’s finally balanced by the amber and resinous qualities. I like this stage of the scent, but it takes a couple of hours for me to reach it and sometimes I just can't get past the opening.

The majority of Lush scents end up missing the mark for me, and this is another one of them. There's always a note that's just wrong and ruins the blend. It's a zesty fruity scent, the zest being very sharp, almost like orange peel as opposed to the juice itself. This sharp bitterness is what kept throwing me off whenever I wore it, and is why I stopped wearing it altogether.

this starts with strong resins, and i think what must be caraway....it seems almost like an herbal anise. later i get labdanum and myrrh. it's very resiny overall. after about 20 minutes i get a hint of apricot, and it gets fruitier over time and less resin-y but overall this smells like sweet incense. i love incense but this one just isn't my cup of tea.

Smells like home-made marmalade on my skin. A deep, bitter sweet zest. A nice change from modern perfumery! (I must admit i love foody scents!)

I really was surprised by how much I disliked this scent. I was expecting a rich citrusy amber backed by some sweet florals, but I really did not get much of a resinous vibe at all out of this. I sort of liked it at an arm's length, but it really devolved into "public bathroom" territory as it wafted into my nostrils. I suspect the amber is more of a powdery variety instead of the sticky kind, and that lends itself to the soapiness of it. Orange notes are for me, either my favorite thing in the world or bathroom cleaner, and unfortunately with the osthmanthus giving hand soap vibes along withe the citrus giving me toilet cleaner, it just kind of grossed me out. I suspect if an indolic floral like jasmine or magnolia were thrown in it really would have completed the "eau du literal toilet" vibe for me. Definitely a huge surprise and a mistake to blind buy if you are looking for something more amber-forward imo.

1000 kisses deep has been my signature scent for the last 5 years. I've gone through multiple bottles. It's a love affair. 1000 kisses deep is my security blanket. 1000 kisses deep is my tried and true, the one I will always run to. I love champagne. 1000 kisses deep is like an ice cold glass of champagne straight out of the fridge on a Friday night first thing after unloading the three bags I tote to and from the office. 1000 kisses deep creates a fizzy, effervescent, sparkling, twinkling air around me. 1000 kisses deep turns my aura a Kansas sunset orange. 1000 kisses deep is fizzy and bubbly in the summertime, she is warm and resinous through the cold months. 1000 kisses deep is extremely wearable for absolutely any occasion, she just works on me so beautifully. Every gal, even those who love an offensive scent need the one who will always be there through it all. She is the one in my collection who has been through every up and down, the happy days, the sad days, the frigid cold winter, the blazing hot summer. I love the trail she leaves behind. There's a spiciness that I love very much. She is fizzy and bubbly and mysterious, she stands out but there is a warmth that clings close to the body, you'd need to get close to understand her completely. Sharp and zesty but with a lingering mysterious warmth. She is the hardest perfume to describe even though she is the one I have undeniably spent the most time with.

Upon first smell i thought - this is grandma. And if you are like my grandma, you owned a log house in the woods, the bottom level being an antique shop, the top level sparkling crystal chandeliers and mothballs. My grandmas house was, to a young girl with a wild imagination, a dream. My grandma was elegant, and kind, and she smelled of powder and lipstick and Lancome, and she wore long white dressing gowns and beautiful jewelry, and she hosted dinner parties with delicious savory dinners and a whole lot of wine. Her house was a relic in itself; an old log cabin built many years ago, pine and oil and resin permeating the wooden floors, the wooden ceilings, the wooden staircases. It was dusty, in the mothball-powder way, the sort of dusty antique aroma that accumulates not with neglect, but with care and age. On the outside of the house, gardens sprawled. Wet flowers, a koi pond, dirt and bark and tree roots. This smells like her. Its orangey in the way liquor is orangey, its warm but not humid, its slightly floral-y but in an earthy, powdery way. Its truly a nostalgic fragrance for me, but would I want to wear it? No, though i do love the images that this brings to mind, and all of the happy memories. I keep smelling my wrist to remember. Its magical, but not for everyone.

1000 Kisses opens with sparkly orange/mandarin notes with a nod to older sister Karma. Middle notes are deliciously ripe, juicy and plummy (apricot jam?), with floral touch of osmanthus. Base notes are warm, balmy, with just the right amount of spice. This is where myrrh and other resins meet with vanilla. Overall, this fragrance has a very autumnal vibe to my nose. Ripe autumn fruit is there, winter citrus and so are the earthy, warm notes. It's enough for me to imagine crisp cool air, dry colourful leaves, soft cozy scarves, delicious hot drinks, and homemade fruit jam... In other words, this fragrance embodies the autumn experience. I loved it since it was first released by NTBTBB. It reminds me a bit of Knowing by Estee Lauder, although 1000 Kisses is no where near as persistent or "big". But they share the same concept of warmth, spice and ripeness, if that makes sense. And to some extent, it reminds me of the original Mauboussin which also has that plummy, syrupy thing going, in combination with resins, except that 1000 Kisses is "brighter" because of the sparkly orange note. It's a beautiful fragrance that may appeal to fans of those and similar classics, with a modern, very LUSH twist. :)

The more fragrances I test from Lush, the more I'm convinced that natural perfumery is a work of art. They're not the easiest scents to wear, but they are truly captivating. I hear that 1000 Kisses is a fragrance fairly dependant on skin chemistry. Thankfully this scent works beautifully on me. It's a rather strong blend of sweet citrus and balmy resins. I find this fragrance super sexy, a scent that could definitely warrant a thousand kisses. 1000 Kisses opens with a somewhat medicinal, orange cough-drop accord. Towards the heart, the note of mandarin orange begins to smell more natural, sweet and juicy, with a vast array of resinous accords complimenting the citrusy heart. The drydown features a deliciously exotic blend of myrrh and labdanum. In many ways, this fragrance smells as good as a room full of burning incense. I feel very 'zen' wearing 1000 Kisses. 1000 Kisses is a fragrance suitable for both men and women. It is a unique scent, so I can't guarantee that it will appeal to everyone, but it's definitely worth a try. The sillage is strong, and the lasting power fairly persistent. As far as I know, 1000 Kisses is a Lush exclusive, however it's still relatively easy to find.

Something like gasoline fuel in the opening (not the best of beginnings...), then tangerine peel, osmanthus and jasmine soap, all this notes combined in a fresh, pleasant soapy smell. Manages to be both fruity and floral without being the fruity-floral clichè so common nowadays. Really Lush-smelling, if you are a lush-addict like me you know what I mean. In the drydown there's something that reminds me of peeled apples and fresh peppermint leaves, really cool and different. Loving this! Witnessing this delicious drydown is worth going beyond the gasoline opening. Minimum projection, I keep on sniffing my wrist!

To my nose, it is a unisex fragrance with a bright opening of floral notes mixed with citrus (but more on the orange peel than its juicy flesh). The citrus note dissipates quickly and makes the floral notes stand out more at the heart. At the base (which is the longest-lasting note on my skin), the florals are mixed with really warm woody and balsamic notes. Overall, the scent gives me a mental picture of white and yellow flowers soaking up the sun that also warms up the varnished wooden fence surrounding the garden.

Got the latest version in the black label 100ml bottle and I have to say this is one of the most easily likeable Lush fragrances. You don't have to be a Lush junkie or fragrance junkie to like it. Fresh, multilayered resinous citrus perfume. Sparkling mandarin and fuzzy peachy osmanthus make a great combo. It doesn't fill a room. But I catch whiffs of it the entire day. Spray it on your clothes and hair brush then run the brush through your hair.

This is one complex scent! Super unique, I can't think of any other perfume I've smelled that smells like this. I love this as it wears on my skin for a couple hours. At first spray it's not my favorite. Lush makes some incredible scents, and while I own this one, and enjoy it, Flower's Barrow and Keep it Fluffy from the original B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful line are worn more often by me.

Is it just me, or does the opening of Lush 1000 KISSES smell like a naked Barbie doll whose clothes have been drawn on with Sharpie markers? As the perfume settles, I am reminded a bit of Rochas POUPEE. The Sharpie marker fumes disperse, leaving behind a sweet plastic doll. I'll try this creation again in solid format. Perhaps it will bloom better from that medium...

If anyone has a sample of this or any other lush perfume (besides love and the smell of freedom) let me know, I am really digging love and would like to try this and many others (orange blossom, lust, cocktail, icon, karma) I do order from the site, but many of the smaller sizes of perfumes are sold out. This is an interesting scent. It opens up fresh and aromatic, yet softens to become a deep (gently spiced) resinous comforting fragrance. I’ve enjoyed wearing this during Autumn and the Christmas season. Projection is great, can smell it through a face mask. Longevity is moderate, 5 hours or so. It’s a nice one to look out for if passing a lush store.

This is good, it's giving niche and unique and expensive. Osmanthus and myrrh smell so wonderful together, it does remind me of Hermes Merveilles but if you wear 1000 Kisses Deep, you'll be more unique. And it is half price of a Hermes perfume. Lush is a hit or miss for me anddd I love love this one - on my wish list.

Stupendously weak, both in siliage and in longevity. It's almost totally gone after about 3 hours. The Labdanum and Osmanthus dry down and fade to insults of their real versions. I spritzed it in-store and was excited to try it out, expecting to write a positive review. Kind of sad, actually.

Ah, I wish this liked me as much as i liked it... on my clothes, it smelled fabulous, a great mix of the sweetness of the fruits and the spice of the resin, but when i had it on my skin, the fruit all but vanished. It was lovely on my mother, though, so she inherited it from me.

opens with a strong boozy orange peel, then turns into a rather nice peachy leather (osmanthus, labdanum, apricot and myrrh melding well), then it descends into a pissy bathroom smell that I can not take in the dry down. The whole experience is gone in 3-4 hours though.

(I am reviewing the solid edition as it's nowhere on the database). This perfume smells exactly like the much loved, but sadly discontinued Beautiful shower gel! Extremely complex and lovely!
