I bought this for my boyfriend and it smells Really Good!! When he first sprayed it he commented that it was a really strange and unique smell, the initial blast is pure whisky, but with the alcoholic sharpness toned down a little. Then the smokeyness transforms into bonfires of aromatic herbs, the scent clinging to your coat as you walk home on a foggy evening through the peat bogs and woodlands. It's lovely. I tried it on myself but prefer smelling it on him. I keep coming over to him for a deep smell of his neck. If I didn't have a partner to wear it for me, I'd wear it myself for sure. The sillage is big to begin with, but as time goes on it gets closer to the skin. The final hours are a skin scent, but a delicious one. The bottle is small enough that it's convenient to bring with you for top ups. It's not super long lasting, but it's quite nice to top up a perfume and get to enjoy the opening all over again, so I don't see this as a negative. Not tried in the warm weather, but for autumn and winter this is woodsy, warming, and unusual. Strong without being overwhemling. Distinct and noticable without screaming 'Look At Me!'. Really sexy I think. And for the price... Perfect! If this is a limited edition scent I'll buy a few bottles for later.

I actually adore this perfume but I can hardly ever wear it since my partner absolutely hates it :( To me, it smells like peat drying in a bog: lots of plantlike and earthy notes, something smokey and kind of sharp, and I am defintiely getting the whiskey smell people are describing. I don't really smell cannabis which is maybe for the best. My partner describes the same notes but not as a good thing. I can see why it would be polarising though, so definitely something to try out before buying and maybe not something you'd wear in an enclosed space with someone unless you know they like it.

Came to the LUSH store today to get a body spray, but as I started smelling other fragrances I sprayed 4:20 and I fell in love with it. It does have a whiskey vibe when you spray it first, smells aromatic and luxurious. There's this sharp note I particularly like. I can actually smell the celery but mixed with sandalwood it turns into that extremely warm, woody fragrance that you just want to inhale. I absolutely adore it. Try it on your skin before buying tho - it's not a fragrance for everyone. I'd say you need to have quite exquisite taste to love it.

smells like a very peated whiskey when first sprayed, stays as such for maybe half an hour or so. At first I thought it was quite brutal and might give the wrong impression. However this dries down to a very niche smelling woodsy dark aromatic. Very appealing to me and fills a gap in my collection. Sillage is either not amazing or I just can't smell it after a short while but either way for £25 thus is definitely worth the purchase if you like unusual fragrances. I could never buy this as a gift for someone as i would never know if they liked it or not.

A fantastic damp, oily, earthy and smoky patchouli, with plenty of cade oil, slightly civilized by a warm and milky sandalwood. Sophisticated, niche and very elegant in fact, with a retro chypre feel. I don't know if the CBD effect is real, but to be honest I don't care. Gorgeous indeed.

This was the scent that caused me to realize I actually really do enjoy playing around with scents. A good everyday/all the time scent with enough unique flair for a lot of the people in my life to recognize it immeidiately. Lots of interesting smoky, woodsy, and herbaceous depth.

The longevity is crazy! I don’t think I will reach out to this perfume often but it’s good to have such a green aromatic fragrance in your collection just for the sake of abundance. Unisex and pretty simple in its nature. I can assume that for someone could be too much

The more I wear Zoologist T-Rex, the more this reminds me of it. Nowhere near as complex or transitioning, but it has a similar smoky green note.

Smells like the forest after it has rained. Smoky, woodsy and spicy. I find this to be quite a comforting scent and I like to wear it to bed.

To me this is almost a Breath of God flanker - drier and smokier. I don’t get the peated Whiskey vibe first. I get a not particularly pleasant wet ashtray smell which thankfully subsides after 15 minutes or so to give way to peated Whiskey. The CBD’s there but it’s quite deep in the blend. I really like Breath of God and I like this too although not as much. This is one of those polarising Lush scents - something I really admire about Lush’s ingenuity - so I’d advise testing before buying.

i've been wearing this all day and it really reminds me of czech and speake no.88;; a sort of deep woody spicy scent. luckily (for me, at least) the cbd oil smell doesn't come through at all, and it's a really beautiful fragrance. i like it! it is pretty masculine but i love this kind of fragrance so im okay with it. i'll have to test it for longer to see if i notice any like energising/relaxing properties but it wasn't really noticeable from just having it on my wrists

Never really tried anything like this before, I’m used to very feminine fragrances but when I smelled this at Lush it blew me away, a smoky scent reminding me of a wet forest. After buying it and testing it on my skin, I really enjoy it and unlike the other reviews, it definitely feels unisex to me and would work on anyone. - Edit: Sprayed this in the afternoon yesterday, could still smell it midday today, a VERY long lasting perfume 😍

A very unique scent, at first it is almost like whisky or spiced tequila, but dries down to a really nice earthy and musky scent. Layers really nicely with sweeter oud based perfumes as it can be overpowering on its own. Great for the price, as you don’t have to use much it is quite strong

It’s a damp earthy, smoky, mossy patchouli scent that lasts forever. It’s like tripping over a tree root in the middle of a forest and ending face down in the moss and dirt. A peated whysky with a pinch of fizzy cola (ginger+geranium) Delicious... Bravo Lush!

Smoky, dry scent over a damp rich patchouli. A bit overpowering but over all a great scent with a true sense of uniqueness and originality. A great composition wich I never fail to use.

Stunning it’s dry and cozy and reminds of a wet forest floor after it’s been raining one spritz last me the whole day and I receive so many compliments when wearing this

The earthier love child of Breath of God and Devil's Nightcap. Plus it's £25 for a 30ml bottle so you can't really go wrong with this one

Smoke. If you love smoky, dry scents, you'll enjoy this. All I smell is the cade, it's too sharp and bitter for me. It reminds me of Lush's Breath of God, which I'm not a fan of either. I much prefer their other offerings!

Super masculine, smells like a pine forest and musk, the ginger and lemon give it a weird pungent acidic side-note which is unpleasant. No cannabis note at all!

Kerosene in a bottle – it doesn’t smell like weed/hemp/cannabis/ganja/pot. Very strong stuff but in an unpleasant way.

[4:20] ⚫️⚫️⚫️⚪️⚪️ Come on now, was this name the brainchild of a teenage boy? The perfume itself is a simple patchouli oil extended with dry spices and a retro masculine dry-down. The cade oil we are promised is delivered too and is welcomed. Thanks to this smoke modification, we are forced into the company of Malle’s Monsieur and Le Labo Patchouli 24. That said, Lush’s 4:20 feels more like Monsieur recounting his early years. A puerile, unpolished and less charismatic character with plenty of experience still to be had. Through this lens then, the childish 4:20 name seems quite fitting.

@A.Puppet: it's in the note pyramid because Lush mentions it as an ingredient ("Cannabidiol in Propylene Glycol"). That doesn't mean you necessarily smell it, but some people might.

A warmer version of polo green but i have to spray a lot to get a bubble for a few hours. Unlike most lush that are more potent

Crystallised ginger with chocolate, sweet tobacco smoke and a peppery hempen envelope, my go to when unwinding is needed, 10/10

it's a no from me. too aromatic. and i don't even smell the cannabis, at least at first
