All Good Things

I got solid version of this strange little thing. I will try to describe it as I feel it. For your information: there is glitter on the very top of the solid perfume, but it if possible to scrape it off. It is recommended that you don't put your nose into the container and sniff directly. It is quite longlasting as for a solid perfume (even up to 5 or 6 hours). Firstly the smell was unpleasant, it just smelled like whole burnt pine tree with its roots covered dirt. Rather unpleasant but complex. I hated it and wanted to threw away but I decided to give it a chance again and again and it was totally worth it. I fell in love. That dirty pine (juniper) on my skin starts to become so sweet and nostalgic after a few moments. The pine stays in the background nicely and introduces buckwheat honey (tonka?) with a little bit of burnt caramel (arnise?). Sadly I don't smell rose or citruses at all. Sweet but not really traditionally sweet, not like sugar or cotton candy. I think it could be worn by men, kinda unisex-y. As on me it smell better in autumn or winter time, when I am wearing a sweater and drinking tea as it develops better and shows it less sharp, sweeter side on warm skin. But there are still some days when I don't like it at all. I think it really needs good skin chemistry, proper temperature and weather and matching mood. So... All good things come to an end? or All good things come to those who wait?

All Good Things seems to be an attempt to blend two seldom-paired aromas. The first of which is a smoky, coniferous woodiness halfway between fir balsam and a campfire, and the second of which is a very sweet, slightly spiced gourmand sort of candy shop/patisserie aroma. Your enjoyment of this will depend on your appreciation of the aforementioned 2 aromas. What makes this interesting to me is it's boldness. If this wasn't as smoky and the woods weren't as strong, this would have just been a lackluster gourmand, and if the sugary sort of gourmand aspects were too muted, it would be a very run of the mill masculine woody fragrance. The fact that it is both exceptionally smoky/woodsy and exceptionally candied and edible makes this surprisingly bold, and almost a little challenging. Fans of sweet candy fragrances might feel a little dirty with the smoke, and the smoky wood fans might blush at the fact that they feel a little bit soft and fluffy in the rather edible dry down. Therein is sort of the greatness of All Good Things: it's willingness to be this weird, genial, startlingly unisex, boundary-blurring fragrance that's personality is entirely unique due to its dichotomous embrace of two contradicting elements. Whether or not this appeals to you, I think it is a hugely fun fragrance. Oh, and it performs fantastically. 8/10

Nostalgic and pleasing, All Good Things is likeable and easy to wear. A smooth experience, noticeable but not overbearing. It does match up to it's sleeve notes; stories of the ends of parties, the parting of ways. It is quite comforting despite the spicy and sharp notes. I like to wear this in the autumn, especially during the day. It suits the season well. It is a smell that invokes memories, autumn is quite a reflective season. All Good Things is mossy and leafy too. There is a sense of the outdoors about it. Not perhaps the great outdoors, huge wildernesses, forests or anything like that. Less scale and more civilised, the things we experience everyday. Again when I think about this scent I find it linking back to where memories are made. Like a walk through your hometown. A journey back home; footpaths, parkland; stone and brick. Interesting, inexpensive and universal enough to be worth having in you collection. You probably won't wear it all the time. But you'll always want some to hand. 9/10

If I had to give this perfume an image, or a story, it would be roasting marshmallows. But it isn't just the marshmallows and graham crackers, but the entire essence of the campground and the woods, from the juniper and cedar trees, to the spicy-smoky anise in the nighttime air from the campfire, to a hint of spicy black pepper from the dying embers, a tiny hint of diesel exhaust, the sweet tonka bean-marshmallows and graham crackers. The notes online also say citrus and rose, but these are barely detectable and just balance out the gourmand and smoke with a hint of freshness/fruitiness. The name of the scent is very fitting; it is evocative of good times not just in terms of its candy sweetness, but also due to its natural, raw notes and elements (real essential oils are used, at least in the solid version I got). The perfect ratio of gourmand to smoky-woods is just amazing, unisex, and thought-provoking.

A versatile masterpiece. With a changing contrast, All Good Things is sweet and bitter at the same time, enduringly. Be aware of the candy floss note in the "perfume" part (enhanced by tonka). I would underline its (relatively) steady longevity and sillage. One’s enjoyment will depend on the the appreciation of the unbroken candy floss sweetnes. I was about to give up on it a couple of months ago because of this, but when I started to use it again it made me feel like I'm an ancient Egypitian god - exuding immortality. I was going to buy a solid, too, but they're all glittered! When I first smelled this, I thought it was a bit too old or outdated for me. I blame that on the powdery scent that hits you right from the start. Almost violet like. And I'm not the biggest fan of poorly done powder scents. Luckily for me, this translates completely differently on my skin. I get the same campfire scent that I got from The Bug, but this one is different. I think what I smell the most might be the coumarin. That sweet, slightly herbaceous note familiar to tonka (also present). This feels warm, sweet, comforting. Just as much as I get campfire, I also sense sitting in front of a fireplace, wrapped in a warm blanket. It's winter and there's a lingering presence of cedar and juniper, with a light hint of anise wafting from another room. I tend to love juniper and cedar, so these help ground this fragrance for me. I don't find much rose or citrus on myself.

Lush fragrances are always interesting in that you really don’t get the same scent on every person—the oils blend with skin chemistry to create something unique to each individual. That being said, I really can’t wear a lot of their perfumes, as my skin has the tendency to pull one note and hammer it to death (this happens with a lot of other perfumes as well) resulting in disappointment. All Good Things was an exception and a pleasant surprise when I sampled it. It has a slight smokiness but I found it to be mainly a warm, creamy sandalwood with vanilla that was sexy, comforting, and intriguing all at the same time. I walked around all evening wondering what the beautiful, cozy scent was that I would occasionally notice wafting through the air and finally realized it was me!

What a lovely, quality product. The mix of bitter, sugared vanilla and smoked cedar is very forward and long-lasting. I detect a tiny bit of rose as well underneath it all, though it might be a stretch. The scent is overall on the heavier side but I wouldn't call it heady. I own the solid version of this perfume (and seems like they no longer carry the spray perfume at all, from what I can see from the LUSH website?) and I love it for its discrete projection and improved longevity. My skin amps vanilla notes like a champ, and it's quite difficult to keep it down with spray perfumes (looking at you, Un Bois Vanille). I wear perfumes to please myself, rather than to have everybody around me smell me from meters away, so it's perfect.

I am reviewing the solid perfume. I passed by the Lush store and tried this on my wrist. On the way home I could not stop sniffing my wrist and had to go back the next day to get this! This scent is so bizarre....but bizarre in a good way, as in "where did this come from??!!". Picture this: woods, cool October night, campfire, warm blanket, starry sky. It smells of all that....it is so unique and unusual....Woody category, sweet but not in a sickening way, as sweetness is diluted with a touch of smoke, and yes it has a "bite" (spice). When I used it the first time my mom said "what is that? it smells like ironed laundry". Yes, it definitely has that "clean" element, but in a very sophisticated way! Go and try!

i still have the solid version of this perfume & i'm running unfortunately low; i'm so sad this is discontinued! it's sweet & incensey; i get less of a cotton candy vibe & more of a roasted marshmallow vibe. the cedar is really nice - you kind of have to enjoy that herbal/woody/hippie kind of smell that permeates a lush to like this, but i haven't met a person yet who hasn't. it lingers on the skin a long time; i dab it behind my ears & on my wrists for work & it lasts most of the day without being headachey/overpowering. it would be really nice for this to get a rerelease because i haven't found another "natural" perfume i like as much as this one.

On me this very smoky, woody, and spicy. It has a piercing and strangely enjoyable opening of cedar and something like burnt rubber, and dries down to incense, woods, rose, and what smells like burnt caramel. This is a strong, complex scent that has various facets and shades throughout its wear time.I don’t pick up on much of the sweetness others have mentioned until around an hour in. It’s a strange one, and I’m still trying to get my grips on it, but it’s oddly compelling. Edit: It took some time, but this has really grown on me, so much so that I picked up a backup bottle. It's a wonderfully comforting sweet-smoky scent.

This perfume holds such a special place in my heart. It was originally marketed as kind of a goodbye / breakup kind of perfume. Like the bittersweet feeling of a goodbye. It was marketed as “a sweet, boozy stumble down a basement staircase in a cloud of candy floss and black pepper.” This perfume smells sweet and smoky. It definitely evokes a bittersweet type of scent. I wore this perfume during a break up, so I suppose the description of the scent was quite fitting. I know it’s discontinued now, but this fragrance will most definitely be missed. Jazz Club by Maison Margiela is definitely the best dupe I can recommend.

This is the absolute god of gourmand fragrances for me. It's a crisp toffee apple, a Halloween bonfire, a carnival with the scent of gunpowder and candyfloss heavy in the air. It's filled with both a childlike sweetness and the intense darkness of a cold night in late autumn. Lush fragrances are controversial, but I'm not being facetious when I say Lush introduced me to the concept of fragrance as art. The hits (this one, Rentless, Breath of God) are more than enough to justify the (arguably more numerous) misses. I never want to go into autumn without a bottle of All Good Things

A lot of Lush scents I really cannot bear, but when I find one I love, I love it with all my heart. This one is a real rogue in my collection, but so strangely addictive. The burnt rubber tyres in the opening may put some people off, but I am totally drawn in by it. This then quickly gives way to spiced sugar and buttery woods. It really feels like you are drinking a hot, salted caramel latte next to a smokey bonfire in a remote wooded area, with all your favourite people around you in a cosy, relaxed atmosphere. I declare it to be the perfect scent for the whole of November.

The solid one, with the super fine golden glitter on top... it was divine for using on the hair... (the one that was a burnt orange colored easily melting wax... before reformulation). I adored it, and I really miss the fragrance. It was gorgeous, and sweet and peppery...deep, but happy, but dark, but sunny...reminded me of that first moment you enter a cool, shaded room after being under the August noon sun. And it lasted forever. Lush described it perfectly "A sweet, boozy stumble down a dark basement staircase will leave you in a blissed cloud of candyfloss and cedarwood."

This is a strange yet beautiful fragrance. The fragrance begins with a heavy blast of cade mixing with tonka and rose to create this surprisingly realistic cotton candy and smoke accord that is beautiful. At times it almost smells like Etat Libre D'Orange's Tom of Finland. As the fragrance mellows you're left with the sweet tonka and rose accord and cedar wood. I was worried that the fragrance would be extremely feminine but the smoke and wood elements keep it very unisex. Good longevity and has a great throw. Overall this is a great launch from the Gorilla Perfumes line.

It really lives up to the name, as this wonderful creation contains all the good things I love in a fragrance. Though I got told this smells like the inside of a chapel, I'm enamored with this scent. I'm surprised smoke is not mentioned as an accord - I can definitely smell it in the opening. It starts out very heavy, but after like an hour it becomes a calming, aromatic, woodsy goodness, with hints of rose and citrus. I'm devastated it got discontinoued, but I was lucky to buy two bottles second hand.

"All Good Things" has been a definite favourite of mine for several years now, and it always seems to attract positive comments. This is partly because it is so unusual I think. I really like the strong contrasts within it,in particular between the quite harsh burnt wood/ashy element and the popcorn/vanillary caramel side. Like most Lush fragrances it lasts well. It sounds like it shouldn't really work, and although it will definitely not be everyone's cup of tea, it certainly is mine! :)

The incense or myrrh lasts all the way through this extraordinary sweet woody floral. 5 of my favourite notes in here so how could I go wrong. I love the smokiness and spice. There is something about this which made me think of Etat Libre Oranger Tilda Swinton Like This. I think it's the sweet spicey fruitiness. I have to almost concentrate to detect the rose but it is there. It adds a softness and almost fruitiness. Very unisex and a new love for me. Moderate sillage and longevity.

I was searching for the perfect Lush scent for fall... I found it. This works very well on my skin. I would describe it as a smokey and woody vanilla. This as something of Vanillary, or also Snow fairy, but also with dark, more mature note (as anise, juniper and wood), that make the fragrance more complex. The base is well rounded, cozy... For me, a perfect vanilla for fall's months!!! P. S. : I would say it's somehow similar to Ciara Revlon, but sweeter and cozyer.

To me this is roses and greasy smoke. Which sounds horrible. It's not. It's incredible. I'm wearing it right now and just luxuriating in it. Like a space opera battle with everything exploding and catching fire but the female Captain standing in the middle, somehow still fresh and elegant. God, so good. We have the spray and the solid, the solid is less piercing and more comforting, but they are both beautiful. On balance I prefer the spray.

I agree--it is a bit like Dear John. Sweeter and smokier though. Starts off with a harsh, Cade note that quickly goes into the background. The dry down lasts forever and has a truly lovely smokey, sweet clove, subtle musk, vanilla scent. Love this perfume. The last bottle I ordered seemed quite dilute, however; which is quite disappointing. Love the scent, the house can be frustrating. Which has been true since its inception, lol!

For the past two months I've been hunting down gourmand perfumes after a life deprived (allergic to alot of synthetic ingredients) and came across this...!!!! Oh man, I can't stop sniffing it. It's such a warm, slightly masculine, comforting smell. It has a little of the same notes as "Dear John" (which I also love) to me, just much much sweeter and smokier! Sweet and smokey would be the best way for me to describe this.

Smoky, balsamic, sweet, powdery, almost leather. This is truly all the best things that I love in a fragrance. I picked this up a few weeks ago from my local Lush store by pure accident, and I’ve been waiting for the weather to cool before I put this on, and today is the day! I do truly love this. It reminds me quite a bit of Cuir de Lancome, which is one of my all-time faves. I hope Lush never discontinues this one!

reminds me of toasting candy floss over a fire to make it all crunchy and smokey :) every now and then when i sniff my wrist i get a whiff of sour lemon which adds a separate dimension to the fragrance. on me it definitely starts out citrusy-sweet, with a smokey edge, but fades to a warm smokey sugar. (the glitter is a tad annoying though. i don't always want to look like i'm going to a school disco!)

I had a solid version of this a fair few years ago. I kept it in my bag and smelled it whenever I needed a boost. It was so uplifting and warming. Imagine travelling through a faraway location projecting this sunshiney yet mysterious confidence. I even loved the subtle glitter in it, like magic dust in a little tub. Would love an updated version.

So people say it's weird . . . As if somehow forgetting it's a LUSH scent. That being said, I sprayed on a clean hand and got that grassy lush smell. Then sweet and light citrus. Then strange development hits my nose, but close sniffing smells like hay. I rather love this strange little find. Might consider a FB at some point.

I have a solid version of this from maybe 2017-2018. This isn't my typical style of fragrance, but I absolutely love this smell. It's a cool weather scent and I found it today while cleaning out my perfume samples. This is anise done RIGHT. Love the smoky almost powdery depth. Lush did made wonderful smells once upon a time

Most beautiful mysterious and unique fragrance with such a mesmerizing evolution... Bittersweet and rich. I love it so much it makes me want to cry, it moves me that much! I want my soul to smell like all good things...

smoking cedar, incensed by cade, then planting rose, aniseed, and tonka bean in the scorched aftermath. it’s a strange one, but that’s part of why i love it... it’s like nothing i’ve smelled before

It has an incredible complexity and provides a royal feeling. If you are a niche head, it worth a blind buy. Unfortunately the price is high, however you get a great deal for your money.

i would sell an organ for a dupe or a remake of this scent- sweet, peppery, woodsy... night at the end of summer. holding on to my little pot of this since like 2016 oops!

I love this fragrance. After reading descriptions I had to have it. Boozy, smoky, sweet, shave cream-y. Perfection.

This reminds me of Sundays in Catholic church during my adolescence. I always had my eye out for this particular Catholic school boy who I met through a mutual friend during his Tae-Kwon-Do demonstration. Mr. School Boy's job was to hold the wooden planks for my friend to destroy. Throughout the entire trial, he kept his eyes on me. We barely spoke a word after because repression is H-O-T especially for Catholics. I changed church service hours shortly after and there he was, holding the golden vessel for altar service, looking incredibly off limits and tormented upon meeting my eye. (In my day, we were ALL reading Twilight, okay? Our poor 14 year old minds were just gobbling it all up.) This scent smells like adolescent wonder, lust, and the innocence and sacredness of it all. What better backdrop for self-imposed torment as well as spiritual clarity than the woodsy incense from the smoky cedar and spices? Tonka bean gives that tender, throbbing sweetness that aches just enough to keep it from ripening. The citrus breathes fresh air, fanning the doomed flame and playing off the candles and golden light coming in from the stained glass windows. Outside exists and even beckons. The rose frames it all with knowing sweetness, a gentle force of nature: inevitable and temporal. This isn't a scent you want to live in, but it is a lovely mood to descend into. It is extra lovely the first time you wash it off. In a musical frame: The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot by Brand New (a very Christian influenced band) remixed with the golden lushness and nostalgia of the Fantasia score.

First up, here's the note breakdown as per the ingredient list on the back of the bottle - Chinese cedarwood, rose, tonka, cade and aniseed. Note the difference compared to the notes here on fragrantica - the actual list has no mention of citrus and it mentions Juniperus oxycedrus which is cade (the Juniper referred to in the Fragrantica notes section is Juniperus virginiana). As the notes might indicate, All Good Things is not blind-buying safe. The cade/cedarwood combo gives a distinct smoky-herbal quality to this fragrance. This accord is married with a slight sweetness from the tonka which keeps it from becoming too insipid. I only get a faint rose, which sort of rounds out the fragrance somewhat. As all the notes are fairly similar in their place in the fragrance pyramid, there' isn't much progression - the herbal components get a little more prominent and the tonka sweetness fades a little bit. Quality of the ingredients is top notch and the frank disclosure of all components in the ingredients list is also commendable. The projection is pretty heavy; this isn't a warm weather fragrance at all. Longevity is, similarly, very good.

When I first smelled the perfume, I hated it. The smoky blast in the beginning was too much. The woody notes bothered me the most, especially cade oil. And there is no rose. Not even a hint of rose! The dry down took me by surprise though. The perfume transformed into a very sweet tonka cotton candy concoction (try saying that three times fast!). I persistently sampled the perfume over and over again despite my very bad first impression. This was my fist experience of Lush perfumes and I think many would agree, that they take some getting used to. I never thought I would like it, but it sneakily grew on me, and to my great surprise, I ended up loving it! I feel like it has at least three different stages and it changes a lot during the day. The smoky opening and the sweet tonka dry down are my favourite things about it. I used up a travel sized bottle and enjoyed it at the time, but decided not to repurchase.

All Good Things was my last stop on my 3-year-long journey of finding something to replace my friend's dearly loved, but sadly used up Kenzo Air bottle. Not because it smells exactly like it, they are very far apart, but because it was finally something that's good enough in its own way. It's a very herbal, sweet, balsamic scent, with lots of vanilla at first, which then unfolds into a full-on medicine cabinet: lacquered wood, juniper and cedar, hints of powder. Tonka makes it all come together nicely. It's like visiting your sickly grandma's house, sitting in a room full of old furniture, medicine bottles and old lady makeup, while she's baking a vanilla cake for you back in the kitchen because that's just how it's got to be. It's very unusual, specific and comforting at the same time.

After many years of enjoying ‘designer’ fragrances a conversation to veganism has alerted me to the unnecessary cruelty involved in the beauty industry. Having avoided Lush for years - the smell as you walk past is overpowering! I decided to venture in to sample some of their ‘vegan’ perfumes - containing no animal derivatives and have not been tested on animals! This is lovey! Sweet and smoky and idea for autumn/winter. The rose and anise are faint but give balance against the cedar and tonka. I don’t care who it’s marketed at but it t would be easy for a man or woman to wear. Projected moderately but lasted a decent time! Packaging basic but that’s good for the environment!

I came upon All Godd Things while wondering if I would be able to scent anything except the typical "Lush scent" in a Lush boutique. Turns out, if it smells like sweet forest fire smoke, yes, you can clearly distinguish it! It begins with smoked woods, in a heavy manner, and mellows down to a great warm scent which reminds me of very sweet black tea with a hint of rose. I find it can be overwhelming due to the smokiness if applied in the morning - but if applied on the nape of the neck, it gives a warm, sweet embrace all day long. All in all, a unisex, long-lasting, smoky and sweet perfume.

"Strange" is the word, which describes the impression of this perfume. While developing, it dynamically changes the shadows from smoky wood to sweet fruits-and-berries. The projection is very vivid, but not agressive. It rather creates some peculiar yet pleasant atmosphere, than a direct message "look, today my perfume is...". Seems to be good for aromatherapy. Associations with happy summertime are included:) My man loves it, while I enjoy it as a projection on other people.

I adore this perfume! It's definitely my favourite. This scent would be perfect for those people, who don't like Vanillary, but love vanilla scents. For me, Vanillary is a bit floral, however All Good Things is a romantic mix of spicy vanilla and woodsy notes. Definitely a winter scent! To me it's a christmas scent. The sillage is really great! It stays on your skin for the whole day. But it's not overpowering. It stays on clothes for days. 5/5

Opening reminds me of Shalimar - burning rubber/leathery notes with floral, mainly rosy, undertones. It develops into same direction, but woody notes get more prominent. I imagine old wooden lacquered etui, where lipsticks and perfumes were stored. Here drop of rose oil leaked, there few opened lipsticks got lost years ago)) Base is sweeter, warm and vanillary. Overall its well made, classy, refined perfume, not loud but with character. .

Definitely for anyone who likes a smoky, spicy or woody frag. The rose note breaks it up a little, adding sweetness. It is very strong and an acquired taste. When I smell this, I imagine sitting outside a cafe, on a sunny, but slightly chilly autumn day.

Sweet, smokey and warm. Tonka and Cade work very well together to balance this fragrance. Very unusual and definitely worth a try! This will be available in all Lush shops in the UK and Ireland tomorrow!

I tried this today. It must be one of those scents that smell different to/on everyone because, after the first few minutes, it smelled like a take on Shalimar. Huh.

Smokey, slightly spicy vanilla, not too sweet. Smells a bit like a vanilla cake. It's cade not juniper berry in the scent though, the notes are wrong.

Unremarkable but charming syrupy gourmand. A lingering dry down of smokey vanilla is worth a liberal dosage in the morning!
