B Scent

First of all little background info: this is the same fragrance as Be Never Too Busy to Be Beautiful`s B Scent. Lush used to be BNTBBB, same owners, same creators. This scent is definitely a dividing one. It has something, that is very eighties. Then something I can`t put my finger on, but feel like, it is the same thing that makes the classics the classics. To me this is very classic-y, nevertheless unique, different. It is elegant, yet playful. Sharp, but not fresh. Very sexy, I love wearing it. The masculine notes make it very sexy to me. It is indeed the perfect unisex scent, as it is truly both masculine and feminine. Very different. Qualité bohémien.

B Scent was inspired by a French waitress who worked in a restaurant that Mark Constantine used to frequent during his trips to Paris. Inspired by foody notes of Fennel and the Lemon and rose notes which lingered on this lovely lady herself, he created B Scent! With my chemistry, this fragrance is exceptionally herbal and completely enchanting. After a while, it begins to smell like an old fashioned confectionery, as it grows muskier and sweeter over time. B Scent is my lucky day scent. It's the one I wear when I want something magical to happen.

Yum. One of my favourites from Lush! (After Tuca Tuca and Vanillary) Sharp, herbal, yet soft and floral. Works a treat on my skin.

I never got the dry down of floral that is mentioned, just woody-citrus. Like high-end furniture polish! In a good way, though. Another unusual fragrance from Lush. Edit: So I bought the solids of some random Lush perfumes right as they were being discontinued, but my scent-palette wasn't very developed at that time so I didn't really know what to think of these. Well, they've been aging on my shelf for about two years now, and I have to say they have only become more amazing over time. So glad I impulse-purchased these! Anywho, so this is one interesting fragrance. I'm definitely getting more of the powdery-floral notes on top of the citrus. It still feels like a very nice furniture polish or cleaning product. Very fresh and very clean smelling. The imagery these evoke are really something to experience. And leave it to Lush to make me eat my "dislikes" list of perfumery notes... :/

A big surprise from Lush, since they usually do real weirdos (for which I bless and adore them). I love Ladyboy, and respect and admire Breath of God; B Scent is something new, pretty without being complacent, edgy without being aggressive, fun but not freaky. B Scent opens with citrus, lemon, I think, a tasteful and discrete rose, and a surprising and delicious note of fennel. There's also a very subtle backing of white flower. It has a straight-forward dry down that doesn't change the composition of the perfume much, although the fennel fades a little and a more earthy note shows up. It stays roundly and sweetly pleasant. This is a terrific summer perfume, with the fennel providing a cooling note, and the rose prettying up your sundress and flushed cheeks.

A vintage Lush perfume. I love wearing this one in Spring. It‘s a really clean fresh aromatic scent. At first I get a lot of citrusy notes of lemon and grapefruit which are followed by herbal lavender, sweet jasmine and bittersweet fennel. A soapy Lush woody base. It reminds me so much of first Spring days. Like the feeling you get when you smell new blooming flowers on a refreshing breeze. Again it‘s not my favourite but I enjoy wearing it and I‘m glad I have it in my collection. Very likable. Easy to understand. Doesn‘t change much.

I have recentley discovered Lush perfumes. At first I can feel citrus and fennel and after awhile it has turned into the most beautiful floral perfume, I love it.

I’m still in shock- a Lush scent I dislike?! It starts out with a strong citrus note, but then a strong urine-like accord takes over and drowns out everything. This is definitely not a good blind buy, so try it out first.

I guess, to be perfectly frank, I'm really not feeling the Lush love. All of these extremely potent perfumes have a very hardline edge of essential oils--often citrus, spices and herbs--which makes them come out on my skin more as pre-bath concoctions than as perfumes. They really are rough-hewn, it seems to me, and part of what I am perceiving, what carries over from fragrance to fragrance, appears to be the Lush house base. It is so much more powerful than any of the delicate flowers with which it is combined, that it comes through no matter what, even in a jasmine bomb such as LUST. I'll keep trying, but it's going to be a hard sell. I keep donning these "made in the kitchen" perfumes (which I do believe!) in the hopes of seeing the light--or rather sniffing the magic, but in the end they always make me feel as though I need a bath. B SCENT opens like a punch in the face with a citrus accord which appears to feature lemongrass--or has some of that essence absorbed permanently into my fat cells from my testing of other creations from this house? Then it just takes time for it to settle down to an acceptable level of nasal assault, but honestly I cannot understand how anyone could consider this a rose perfume! Really? Ultimately, this all boils down to a matter of taste, it seems to me. If your idea of a pleasurable olfactory experience is to spend an afternoon at the Lush store, then you may love everything in this line! Do you find Keiko Mecheri "boring"? Well, you may be the perfect Lush customer, my fragrant friend. When I went to the store in Harvard Square to purchase a bottle of LUST, the SA gave me a complimentary slab of LUST soap, the scent of which is so powerful that every time I enter my bathroom I cannot help but remember my visit to the kaleidoscopically colored land of Lush. Maybe that's the point?

Lush B Scent is an intense herbal-lemon fragrance with a hint of musk. Once again, I am left speechless, in awe of this brand's unique style. B Scent opens with a somewhat sour, lemon detergent note, which is strangely alluring despite the fact that I'm not a huge fan of lemon. Fennel and lavender make a rather brash entrance in the heart, smelling like a cross between liquorice sticks and play-doh. I know this blend sounds revolting, but it actually smells quite nice. The lemon accord gets sweeter and sweeter throughout the course of this fragrance's development. The musk and sandalwood in the base are both smooth and earthy smelling. That distinctive 'hippie vibe' that Lush is known for is definitely present in B Scent. I think B Scent is either a love it or hate it. I totally dig it, but I must admit that my friends don't understand why I'd want to wear it. Like Sherapop so eloquently put it, this fragrance is a bit of a 'punch in the face' in terms of sillage. Like most Lush fragrances, B Scent has excellent longevity and is another eco-friendly scent. I feel like I'm embracing my inner bohemian whenever I wear this fragrance.

-Vintage-inspired scent. -Rather nondescript. Some unidentifiable spices (coriander?) and powdery notes. -Unless you're into smelling like the inside of an empty spice jar, I wouldn't reach for this. (-)

I am not a fan of citrus/herbal/woody scents and this is exactly that. It smells like the sound of a crayon on a black board. Harsh, super dry and not sensual. Reminds me of insecticide.
