Bond Street 1972

If you need a perfume that smells like you just pulled a bunch of grass and weeds from the garden or perhaps a freshly mowed lawn, this is your perfume. My brief review is based on a tester strip and my hands were already tested with other pefumes but I just have to leave this note here that this is the most naturalistic verdant opening of any perfume I have ever smelt. The grassy notes here is a moist wet damp grass and not the dry grass of some arid land.

Very green at first, think freshly cut grass, summer air, wet soil and summer breeze. Not sweet at all. Then it turns into a spicy incense scent. Edit 08/21/25: this has become one of my total favs! The sillage is great and it lasts a really long time on my skin. One of the best. I smell it on myself throughout the day which rarely happens

At first, a bright celery green white pepper smoke that reminds me a bit of an herbaceous candy. Then the green mellows down after an hour and turns into a warm incense. I imagine a sunny walk as the first spring shoots emerge from the snow, returning home to an incensey interior with the crisp feeling of cold air.

Really nice green freshy. Sharp, very green & grassy with a hint of frankincense. Reminds me of Lush The Bug mixed with Lush Grass. Good value at £75/100ml Probably a safe blind buy if you like green & grassy scents.

Very medicinal green opening. The drydown smells like wet cannabis, not smoked, the actual plant..not at all what I expected. I like green scents. The old original Bobbi Brown, I love Grass by Lush..Nuit de Bakelite by Naomi Goodsir..Crushed by Margot Elena. This one is harsh and, as much as I don't like it, I do love Lush perfumes. There are 2 that I don't like, the old version of Fresh As, which smelled like Pine floor cleaner, and this one...I hear that Fresh As has been reformulated, so maybe it's better. No way to make this one better. Yuk. Also, the performance is not great for a Lush perfume. If you like weedy scents, give it a try..but don't wear it to the airport..TSA might be stopping you.

Smells extremely medicinal. I'm also getting peppermint and maybe something slightly illegal. Unless they are highly poisonous, I fail to detect the promised fresh green plants & stems at all. In its defense, it certainly achieves the goal the perfumer intended. It successfully alerts everyone that you wish for them to "f*** off." Unfortunately, it does so in a manner similar to that of a skunk. Not pleasant. Not recommended.

A visit to the Perfume Library in Soho today was a joy with chance to try all the new line. Definitely a return to form for Lush frags from those who've been following the brand. This is unashamedly a galbanum bomb and if you love the note then don't waste time pick it up. Too early to know how it wears on skin but great first impressions and as max always says first impressions last. Go green.

Tried it at the store today, this is an absolute spin kick of grassy note in the first 10 minutes, greener than any green scent I have ever tried. It turns a lot more mellow when it settle down but still I am not getting the incense note as mentioned. Interesting scent but I may not consider getting one myself.

This is very much like a cross between Estee Lauder Private Collection and Chanel No19. Like the above mentioned frags, it's verdant and crisp. A hit of luminous citrusy sweetness in the dry down.
