Calacas

I blind bought this perfume (2019 edition) after trying the Calavera bath bomb, and it didn't disappoint. They're pretty close to each other. Calacas is a sweet lime scent. Definitely green lime and not some other citrus fruit. It's summery and refreshing and a bit candy-like, quite warm, sweet and long-lasting for a citrus scent. I also get some of that incensy bath bomb fizz that many Lush perfumes have, which I sometimes find annoying, but here it's a nice addition. Maybe cause this is a fresher scent where some fizziness doesn't feel out of place. According to the Lush website this scent family is reminiscent of funfairs, which I usually rather associate with cotton candy, roasted almonds and candy apples. I'm not sure which lime flavored things you would find at a fair, maybe a slushy or those long gummy ropes? A fair this is not the first thing I would have thought of when smelling this, but it certainly fits the happy atmosphere and colorful lights you'd find there. A fun, uplifting scent for warm days and evenings.

Love this one!!! Smells just like Day of the Dead. I feel the sweet notes, the neroli, and the lime are equally present here, and they are delightful! It smells like lime gummy bears. I just want to eat it up! This is the most delicious lime scent I have ever smelled, and it's making me absolutely love neroli. I guess I get the olibanum too but not until later. The scent has pretty good lasting power for something with so many delicate notes. I would say this is one of my favorites in summer, and it's a great pick me up on a gloomy winter day. EDIT: I'm wearing Calacas on one wrist and DOTD on the other and they smell the exact same!! I don't think there was any reformulation done. If anything, the Calacas is a little stronger (maybe) but then again, this bottle is brand new and the DOTD bottle is about 5 years old. (Still smells fab though!)

My favourite scent of all time. Have the lush forums bottle, the lush kitchen UK bottle and the body spray. They all smell the same. They're wonderful. It's very strong and I can't wear it everyday but I save it for special occasions. It really is a lime candy scent. Like the green jelly easter eggs from see's candy. Love of my life.

Green skittles! Omg, new love! Candy scents make me so happy! I wish Lush would re-release this because it's lovely and I NEED more of it. Luckily there's a lady on ebay who makes good dupes...

I was hoping this would be a sort of candied citrus in the same way Lush’s Electoplasm is a candied citrus; still very fresh, sharp fruit! But this is much more of an ambery smelling caramelized lime. I guess I was ultimately disappointed. But it does still generally smell like the lush store like some product long ago I can’t remember, so I’m torn whether to keep it.

This is the same scent as Lush's 'Day of the Dead' limited edition from 2010. Very nice and refreshing, very different too.

I'm sure this must've worked as it's original format of a shower gel, but I honestly can't understand why anyone would want to smell of this fragrance. It's really not nice & triggers my migraines, asthma & makes me nauseous. But for those of you that love it, enjoy! Hopefully I won't have to be close to you any time soon ;) I'll be putting my bottle on eBay (from where I just bought it!).

This is a very straightforward, sweet artificial lime scent. I've never smelled this product it's based on, but it's far too simple lime for my taste. A miss from LUSH for me!

I sought after a rare bottle of the Calacas perfume on eBay and got lucky, and its perhaps one of my favorite scents I've tried. That being said, after awhile it started to smell too artificial and sweet so I am considering recreating the scent with essential oils of the same notes (neroli, lime, perhaps some sweet resin). I have tried the newer more accessible body spray as well, and it does not compare to the perfume or any of the calacas scented products (like monster's ball bath bomb).That one is even more potentially headache inducing if you aren't careful with it. They have since rebranded the body spray as "Zesty". It smells like a mexican fiesta, zingy, green gummy worm, any green candy that is juicy and makes you salivate. The lime note is front and center and pairs so well with the neroli to make this an fun and delicious citrus scent. Some people might be turned off by how much like green candy it can smell. Definitely a scent that can be more comforting to the person wearing it, then it is for people smelling it on you.

I've got the body spray and oh my god what a beautiful buy! Lasts so long on my skin, drives my partner crazy! My body temperature runs a little high so the sweet neroli is more prominent on mine. Smells very sweet rather than fresh. The fresh in the beginning feels like someone squezzed a lime peel in front of my nose and then it is pure sweet, candied neroli...mmm I feel like i want to add coconut on top of this, and it is a perfect unique summer scent. I agree with a comment underneath that mentioned the Virgin Island Water. Add coconut and we're sweet.

This is a lovely scent.the lime note is very prominent and long lasting and reminds me of Mexico when I wear this.theres a hint of sweetness but it's not overpowering there's are perfect balance but be warned this is a very strong scent and it's very unique and people might not like it.this is a very big no no in my household as everyone hates it but I love it and continue to wear this .outside of home only :)

I am also loving this lime and jelly beans combination. Snow Fairy was just too sweet as a perfume, and Snowcake isn't my favourite almond probably because I have lots.. but this one is baby bears porridge, just right. Sweet, fruity lime, lasts all day, round and full of neroli. Christmas came early for me.. celebrate with Dia de Muertos.

Going by the *BODY SPRAY* it is a great scent, and lasts forever on clothes. On skin, it lasts but it's a skin scent after an hour. It "hits the spot" and "scratches the itch" if you're a lover of candied limes/limes in fragrances such as Virgin Island water!

Smells exactly like lime sorbet (the ice cream made without any milk). Sweet, candied lime sorbet. Absolutely beautiful. Performs amazingly also (and I'm referring to the body spray). 4/5
