Flower Market

I love the smell of carnations, and Flower Market is a very big carnation. It has the powerful strength from the cloves, the almost uncomfortable powdery dryness, which is accentuated by the violets that smell to me more like orris root. De galbanum adds a little bit of green to it. If you like your carnations creamy or sweet, look somewhere else. If you love a pure carnation and go easy on the spray ( I use only one), this is truly beautiful.

All I can say is how much I miss this perfume. How much I wish Lush would bring it back. It's discontinued and it's heartbreaking. I miss that feeling of being immersed in a big bouquet of blooms and green stems & leaves... This one and Potion, another lost gem....oh, dear Lush...I miss them both so much. The lovers of scent, need these to come back. 💔

I'll be the lone voice defending this fragrance. I don't know if it just smells good on me or what, but I love the carnation scent. The drydown on me smells like Juicy Fruit gum. I ran out of my bottle and may try to get it again one of these days if it's available.

i'm a total lush/be never too busy fan, but this was the only one of their perfumes i've had to give away.ever smelt zoflora (a concentrated floral disinfectant). this is mighty similar.yuk. sad that this is one of the scents that the new lush stable has chosen when there are all the fantastic old bntb ones that could be resurrected

I had this a long time ago, but I remember it as being intensly powdery and green. The name Flower Market is a bit misleading, because to me it just smelled of chemical green stems. Interesting but ultimately unwearable for me. Would be nice as an air freshener though!

You still put your nose in the middle of cloves? Here, then you can get an idea of the smell of this perfume ... It is terribly strong ... Nothing violet or ylang ylang ... only strong clove! I use against fleas on my dog, and deodorizing shoes of my son ... :-D

Most awful perfume I ever smelled in my life! Seriously, the very worst. Imagine this: top note ammonia, middle notes Deet and cheap hand soap, base note turpentine. Not really a smell I'd associate with Audrey Hepburn!

This perfume is terrible somehow... Like many Lush “smells” doesn’t smell like perfume and it’s not even half-way from class and refinement. Flower Market is a big, ultra-strong concoction of all possible flowers at the market smashed together without any grace and loaded with clove essential oil. The result will kill your nose. It’s not a stink but not very wearable either. I smelt this fragrance for the first time in a Lush shop and bought it on a whim because it was discounted . I never wore this later but used to smell it at home in a period when I did lots of work at home and everytime I take the bottle out of the closet I’m immediately thrown back to that time. Lasting power is very strong and it clings to fabrics like nothing else!

I have a bottle of this made in 2009. It still smells identical to the day I bought it even in 2018. Strong, pretty much one note. Almost as nostril burning as paint thinner. But it is beautiful, floral and authentic. A sharp nose biting floral, not musty or dusty in any way. Probably full of all sorts of things not allowed anymore. Then again it can't be that great if my 100ml has lasted nearly 10 years. Normally I get through all my perfumes in under two years. It is quite feminine and that is perhaps why. It's hard to get and I doubt they'd ever make it again. The closest lush fragrances to this would probably be fox in the flowers (bath bomb) or flowers Barrow (various) but neither are anywhere near as potent or sharp.

I bought this as it was the fragrance of one of my all-time favourite and now discontinued Lush bath bombs, Monet's Garden, which used to leave a beautiful floral fragrance on the skin. There you could smell the carnation and the violet. Unfortunately, as a perfume Flower Garden isn't so delicate, but big and brash. If it's a tribute to Audrey Hepburn, it's the loud, in-your-face Eliza Doolittle, not the elegant, ladylike creature she becomes. the It's very strong, and I've never been able to leave it on my skin long enough to see what the dry down is like. I find it works beautifully as an air freshener though...

Wheeeew! This is STRONG. I get a previous reviewer comparing this with zoflora, it has the same potency. I do get a violet and carnation hiding here somewhere but it's overwhelmed by an all over perfuminess I can't describe. It's a bit like an eighties powerhouse mated with a lush store and the resulting loud child is this. I've had to wipe it off with an unscented baby wipe. What remains smells like the lingering bath bomb scent. I wanted to like it but it is too brash for me.

Wow - this was powerful! I no longer have a bottle (used all mine up in 2008) but the nearest match I can find in Demeter Library of Fragrance Valentine. Valentine also smells like walking into a florist's shop, but is not quite as in-your-face as Flower Market was, so is easier to wear.

I loved this so much!!! 😭 I wish they'd bring it back 💔
