Fresh As

Pine scents sometimes tend to give toilet cleaner vibes but Fresh As is not that. It‘s very beautifully blended and soft, it‘s a piece of art. A green pine scent that wakes up memories of decorating christmas trees and smells like a very refreshing and breezy walk in misty woods in the morning after it‘s rained. Not a typical damp, heavy and smoky Lush woods scent, Fresh As has some citrusy orange and green apple top notes that really make it Fresh (and clean) As Fuck. The drydown is more woodsy and actually very sexy. A natural scent that makes you think you‘re in the garden in the morning. Even though others have mentioned Fresh As is not very good in terms of performance and sillage, I have to disagree. It is very strong at first and lasts 6-7 hours on my skin. It is definitely unisex and the dry down smells a little bit more masculine. I love this one. Well done.

I had a solid perfume of this and when I saw a full sized bottle on sale, I had to get it. Most lush isn’t worth buying unless it’s on sale. Especially their fragrances. If you like karma or diptyque’s philosykos, you’ll probably like this one. They both have that same sort of water and freshness smell. Fresh as reminds me of walking through the PNW forest near a lake or river in the summer time. I get a little bit of citrus in this one, which is on par for lush, but it’s not overpowering or prominent. I also feel it might have some fig scent in it. It’s great. I think it’s straight up unisex. It non offensive. Probably safe for a blind buy if it on sale. Definitely overpriced if it’s full priced. Glad I bought it, overall.

Pine - without the woodiness - on a bed of meadow florals and lime. There's an underlying sweetness that comes across as fresh and pretty. I can detect the vegetal ghost of orris root, and I wish it was more prominent in the mix. This is a spring/summer scent, but I also enjoy layering it with Serge Luten Five O'Clock Au Gingembre in the fall and wintertime. This is definitely EA Green Tea's elegant, more natural-smelling cousin. Similarly, it wears as a skin scent, but lasts just a touch longer. I love this so much that I bought 4 backup bottles. Pine! Pine! Pine! Feels like taking a walk in a coniferous forest, crushing some white pine needles between the fingers of one hand while eating a juicy fruit with the other. Not quite a green apple, not quite an orange, but something unmistakably high in vitamin c. Time brings out sun warmed pine sap, soft & amber; then paper thin wood shavings you can almost see through. Fresh as is truly a fresh & likeable scent while still being unique. Even if you don't like it for yourself, you won't mind smelling it. Never too heavy, always fun & effervescent. No one will ever ask you to roll down a window when you're wearing this in the car. Unless they have asthma

Its a beautiful day so you decide to pack a tent, something to eat, a bottle of wine and you drive up for a hike in the forest. After a day full of adventures, you put up a tent in a thick forest. There are pine needles and pinecones all around you. You wake up the next day, morning dew is still on pine needles and moss. It's still warm because it was sunny and hot yesterday. You unzip your tent and take a first breath of fresh air - that's what this perfume smells like.

An absolute surprise. The scent is so good, fresh pine but sweet, like a hint of mint, a wonderful combination of sweet and fresh, and the marigold rounds off the composition perfectly. It's amazing how calming it is. I can't stop wearing Fresh As.

I don’t know how but on me this dries down to a beautiful floral baby powder scent! More sour than sweet but gorgeous.

Pine is a tricky note, so evocative in its natural form but tainted by associations with cleaning products and holiday-themed fresheners. Those associations will inevitably ruin this fragrance for some, but I think it's successfully done. Fresh As is, unsurprising, a fresh blast of pine, but it's elevated by a smart use of florals - pungent tagetes and, crucially, a really gorgeous orris note. I have a weakness for orris, and while not the star here, it plays an important role in softening and refining the fragrance. I don't detect much benzoin, but it may be working in tandem with the orris to sweeten the composition. Fresh As is less Chrismassy than it might be given the heavy coniferous notes; combined with the florals, it gives me the impression of an open lawn with topiary and thoughtfully arranged flowers. It's all a bit rigid and linear, but fresh and pleasing in its modest way. I can imagine some people feeling that it would make a better candle scent, though.

Right off the bottle cap this perfume smells really fresh green and citrusy with a sweet hint of wood and sap. On my skin the pine notes get more prominent, and it smells like I am standing so close to the tree trunk that I become it. I am the pine in the middle of the forest, mid-july and I am sweating tar, and shedding off my driest pine needles. The opening is somewhat masculine, like one of those soaps marketed towards men with 50 uses in only one soap. Or like walking past a locker room where you know there will be a mixture of several soaps, and colognes. At the same time, it is a very nature smell, so I cannot label it with a gender, it is as stated ‘Fresh as...’. Though, for me it is too fougere, and I could not wear it, but it has a good longevity and a decent sillage so if you’re into sweeter fougeres I would absolutely recommend a sample.

The un-nameable thing that it smells like, in my opinion, is book pages. Smells like pine+ newly printed book pages. Although stuff that comes right out of the printer to me always smelled like cucumber. This fragrance makes me think of that too. It’s crisp and inky, and i like it but it took its time to grow on me. Imagery : A fresh cold shower in a mountain cabin. You put your clothes to dry outside and they froze. Edit: I actually quickly got sick of it, couldn't smell it anymore right now without cringing. It's trying to be tomboy and 'peculiar' and I am not here for it; I guess the whole Lush store made it smell better than it actually was, because I bought it and now hate it :((

I think sarakp999 sums up my impression of this quite well. It's sort of an abstraction of fresh, lush green forest that smells wet, fresh, yet somehow sort of warm at the same time. I have the solid, but my gateway was a bath bomb with this scent, and then the limited-edition shower gel. I was in a fancy Scandinavian home goods store and they have a line of scents for home and personal use. One of them that I sprayed on me smelled extremely similar to Fresh As. But more expensive, though it didn't smell more expensive. I think this perfume will be good in winter as a fresh blast pick-me-up.

I have the stick version, so it may be slightly different, but it smells like something green but un-nameable. Something close to trees, close to citrus, but just off. Incredibly pleasant but sort of an acquired taste. Bought it after asking the saleswoman if she had anything that smelled like rain, and there is just a slight note of petrichor; it's very earthy. Like early afternoon by a river.

I just blind purchased this fragrance hoping for a pine needle xmas tree type scent for xmas. This smells nothing like that despite the fragrance notes. Its more of a citrus fresh green plant scent, not getting any wood or pine. Great for spring time and I do like the fragrance. I wish they sold Pineward Perfumes in the UK.

I have the solid but have smelled the liquid version many times. What I mainly get from it is jelly beans, specifically the ones you'd get at a pick n mix - I like this for the nostalgia, but might not be for everyone! Definitely not "fresh" as they market it, I don't get much grassiness or pine, but nice nonetheless.

i mean yeah..... its fresh as. to me it smells quite androgynous which is nice cos i only really have feminine perfumes, its nice to branch out! doesnt last long at all on skin but has staying power on clothes even if the sillage isnt too strong. really nice for hot weather, sublte fresh clean smell!

Has the vibe of the vintage alpine Dirndl dress (forestgreen with daisies) that I thrifted. The opening does smell like pine essential oil and the dry down is very laundry detergent-like. It also reminds me of a greenish Ikea candle. Feels like it would be nice and clean for spring.

This literally smells like the color green. Takes me back to my childhood and sleeping in a camper by the lake and the woods. Its VERY fresh, borderline sweet, Im getting like a crisp apple note.

I have the solid version and I agree with previous reviews - I would not describe this as 'fresh'. It reads more soapy and a little bit sweet on my skin, but I kinda enjoy it.

I bought this as a graduation present to myself years ago. Baby's first 100ml! Smells absolutely lovely inside of the bottle. A light semi-floral pine with some unidentifiable brightness. What's not to love? I enjoy how well it plays with fabric, but that marigold just kills me. It reminds me a bit of pungent invasive wildflowers by the side of the highway when sprayed on skin. Bright and definitely forest, but sour and powdery in a way that feels slightly off to me. Still, I spritz this on the inside of my coat before a walk in the woods sometimes. Good for spring when the weather hasn't warmed up quite yet.

Had a sample of this sent to me as i am still searching for the ultimate 'walk in a pine forest 'perfume.Expected some sweetness but nothing like this. If the pine wasn't listed i could never tell it was in it. If the green one of the scented pens i had as a kid would be designed to smell like pine it would smell like this. It is a fresh body wash that hints of synthetic strawberry candy. not exactly what i was looking for. It is a mystery how the mentioned notes of natural origin could result in something that comes off this synthetic. My search continues

Is anyone else getting a minty scent in this? Maybe I’m just going crazy. Anyway, I have mixed feelings about this one. I want to like it so bad! The pine definitely comes through, although it isn’t a nice, fresh pine I’d expect from a /pine centric/ perfume. It just seems like there’s something off about the scent in general. It’s a nice idea, I don’t love or hate it, but I find it strange and hard to wear. The Fresh As body wash is a must, though! I should’ve just stuck with that...

I blind bought it based on the notes and was initially disappointed - that's the first time I see pine as fleeting top notes, pine is watery and lasts for minutes. Mostly there's apple-like sourness, and on skin it warms to a sweet apple and some herbal base. In the end it worked better on clothes for me - out of skin contact I mostly get sweet herbals and less apples. But seriously, there's almost no pine.

I keep trying this and expecting it to be different, but on me it’s pure marigold/tagetes with a powdery, candied sweetness. Fresh, WHERE?! Floral, sweet, fruity-slightly-tropical-citrus, (dangerously close to a cleaning product type smell imo) and NO PINE 😭 I want pine & fir & forest goddammit! Linear, summery fruity-floral, with incredible longevity.

I have the solid perfume and this doesn't smell herbal on me at all. The first skin contact, yes, pine but it quickly evolves into a sweet clementine like fragrance on my skin. A lush clementine with its leaves. It reminds me of the beverage Sanpellegrino Clementina. It's not bad but I just wish that the pine, green scent would last longer.

I’ve walked through pine trees before and this is definitely not it. The synthetic pine scent for car deodorant isn’t like this either but it’s close. This is weird but not exactly bad kind of weird either. Kinda okay but definitely not pine in my opinion. Yes, closing my eyes and smelling this the colour is defective green.

It's hard to describe what notes I'm smelling, but I wouldn't call it fresh. Definitely green, yes, like herbal vegetation that has rotted and dried on the floor of the forest, but not smelling like the trees themselves.

I totally agree with @amberonic's review below - I get herbal-fruity accord which I do not dislike, yet the composition is indeed linear and an hour on my skin I am still to detect any development of the accords...

I have the solid version of Fresh As, and The sillage and longevity are hugely disappointing. The freshness, greenness and almost citrus quality of the needles is really lovely, but no amount of application can make this frag project more than an inch, and your average bar soap scent lingers longer than this. I'd be interested to sample the liquid version and see how I feel about it, but the solid performs so poorly I feel like I should warn people away from it.

Pine is my absolute favorite note, but this is a poor use of it. More of a sour sickly-sweet wet meadow. I also agree with comparisons of cleaning products. I was bummed since I love Lush and I love coniferous scents, but don't get this expecting any "forest".

I spray a couple on wrists and shirt at bedtime so this is a staple.

Foul. Everything about this perfume’s marketing, described notes and theme suggests that I should like this but it smells sour and dirty to me not a good earthy dirty; like stale water dirty. I am somebody who likes a lot of Lush’s woody/green offerings as well, such as Devil’s Nightcap, Tramp, Grass, etc etc. My sentiments were echoed by everyone else I know who smelled or tried it, with some interesting imagery given, such as dog piss and wet pavement, mouldy apple and stagnant water from a flower vase.

I liked it because of the dried-down scent on the tester fabric donut thingy at the LUSH store (if you know, you know—I’d love it if they would start selling me some, by the way!). For me, it was a perfect mixture of vibrant pears and woody incense, and felt much like a cleaner, more sophisticated brother of LUSH Karma. I sprayed some on my wrist and waked around for about an hour, and smelled it. On my skin, it smelled much sharper and more masculine. The dry down was quite pleasant with a faint scent of clean laundry detergent in the background with the cozy scent of incense. I ended up purchasing Karma because I loved how raw and sweet it was in a very freeing way, compared to Fresh As’s more sophisticated and likable portrayal of woody incense. These two smelled very similar to me, like a twin, but with different styles and passions. Less sweet, less fruity (than I imagined—but this may be due to my skin chemistry on which fruity notes fade fast or don’t project at all) and more clean!

I got the solid perfume of this and absolutely fell in love with it, I couldn't stop smelling it. I came across someone selling their Florence bottle of this, so I bought it knowing I love the scent. however it's definitely different. I really didn't like it, and ended up selling it on. hopefully the new owner likes it haha. I then came across someone selling a white label version, which I assumed would be different to this Florence exclusive. it is! and definitely better. but I still don't feel like it's exactly the same as the solid, I'm not sure. maybe it needs time to grow on me. to me, the liquids have been a lot more artificial smelling. if I were to recommend a version of this scent, I would definitely say the solid :) I would love to try out pineward, unfortunately they don't ship to my country x_x 🌲🌲🌲

Smelled this today and was surprised how similar it smelled to Gucci Envy the original and sadly discontinued fragrance. However, it’s missing the “it” factor, that effortless class and quality exuded by envy. Fresh as is very green, grassy and herbal. It’s missing some floral elements to soften it up...round the edges. It doesn’t remind me of cleaners at all but much more of fresh cut grass or grass on a very early, misty morning; dampened. This falls under a polarizing scent, you either will love or you won’t.

I do enjoy this one - the name and emphasis on pine in the copy are misleading - but the description copied here on fragrantica about a renaissance flower garden is sort of more fitting. To me this is a slightly fruity orris scent - a light purple color. I wouldn't recognize any pine in it without someone mentioning it. It reminds me of a fresher version of fruity pebble type scent. I do like it but wish they'd named it something else. I would've named it like 'Flesh Fruit' or something.

I really don't know about this note pyramid... Pine? I smell green, green, green. Yes aromatic, but not grassy, herbal, or woody. Borders on cleaning product but not screechy or bleachy. Fruity like Tansy. A crisp green apple top over a lime gummy bear base. Linear; fair lasting power and sillage.

The initial spray releases a fragrance reminiscent of the scent after rain—slightly pungent. It’s earthy and fresh, with a strong citrusy aroma. Personally, I find it a bit too sour. However, it’s not bad if you enjoy scents reminiscent of fresh pine trees.

So so fresh! The opening has a hint of citrus to it to me, but dries down into what smells like a big ol’ pile of pine needles. This is a very light fragrance, and I pair it with Shade (also Lush) which adds a bit of depth to it.

Green but not too green. Fresh and bright smelling, with a touch of sweetness. I can't seem to identify any particular notes. Not something I'd typically go for, but it's quite nice. Might pick up a bottle in the spring.

I have not tested this and based on what people say here. I Think it's best sticking to Pineward who are the true king of forest scents.

Dettol, straight up Dettol. I enjoyed this at first, then I kept detecting something familiar. Now it reminds just me of grazed knees 😫
