Glinda Upland

Way back in November 2018, I was given a wonderful gift: the chance to create my own personalized perfume at the Tonatto Parfums boutique in Piazza di Pietra in Rome (which, as far as I know, sadly no longer exists). The resulting composition was so true to me! A powdery, resinous floral with a typical "retro-cosmetic" scent. It had notes of rose, Vanilla, lilac, mimosa, benzoin... One of the few perfumes I've used until the last drop. I unexpectedly found a very similar scent in this Lush body spray, Glinda, in collaboration with the film "Wicked"! It has notes of rose, iris, vanilla, sesame, and benzoin, and has perhaps jumped to the top of my list of favorite Lush body sprays (in terms of strength, it certainly surpasses all the others in my experience!!!). I recommend a sniff to all lovers of these floral, sweet, powdery scents 🥰.

Omg this is Turkish Delight in a bottle! Love it! Perfect scent to encapsulate sweet, feminine Glinda. Just like Turkish Delight candy: pink, sweet rose-jam scent with undertones of pistachio/almond and a dusting of powdered sugar. Not too powdery (I detest powdery scents). Glinda is more of a floral (rose) gourmand/sweet with a light dusting of powder which only adds to the softness and feminity. Soft, sweet, girly and fun and not overly synthetic. 10/10

I love this but did have it for half price in the sale and am in the UK. I find it just powdery and sweet on its own and would not reach for it but combined with the Elphba spray it is amazing and I’m sure it’s what brings the balance and the longevity. I literally spray it and can still smell it 24 hours later in the room I’ve sprayed it in. If it comes back I will check it is the same before buying but would spend the full price if it’s the same.

I like the comforting powdery rose scent that it leaves, nuttier than rose jam but I wish there were more pistachio and amber. The lush dna is strong in this one like you can TELL it's from Lush because it has that lingering lush smell that all their frags have, this is a shame because I find it a bit offputting since it reminds me of a period in my life where I wore a lot of Lush and it's a period I'd rather not go back to. I don't think it's as basic as people say though, I've been looking for a decent rose scent because while there may be many out there, none of them are in my collection even though it's a favourite note of mine. I respect them for not just recycling Snow Fairy and LOM for Wicked like I thought they would. I used to wear the LOM spray a lot and when sampling the Elphaba spray in store (which is not LOM but has similar notes) two seperate people said that it smells like me. I was a little offended because when I smelled it I thought it was rather strong and spicy, but they're not wrong because I do smell like an autumnal bonfire sometimes. I like both sprays, I think £40 is a lot to ask but they project and last forever. I'm wondering which one to buy, do I do what everyone expects and buy something similar to what I already have or surprise everyone and get this Glinda spray which I prefer, is more agreeable, and is unlike what I own already. Also Wicked is better than you think it's going to be, went in with low expectations and left a convert.

This body spray isn't revolutionary by any means, nor is it awful—very middle of the road. At first spray, it's straight roses. Very floral and heady, slightly powdery, like rose oil. A couple of hours into the wear I start to smell some sweetness with the rose which I feel like is the vanilla starting to emerge. After about four hours, I get a very slight nuttiness from the pistachio but not in any significant way. This lasted for about 6 hours on me and the sillage was moderate. I was intrigued by the notes but overall underwhelmed. In my opinion, there could have been a stronger concentration of vanilla and pistachio because, otherwise, this is just a very standard rose scent.

Smells like powdery marshmallows sitting on a bed of vanilla dusted rose petals. Moderately sweet, soft & delicate. Not a love, but I like it.

Kind of just smells like the lush store to me. Like a bunch of bath bombs mixed together. It's not unpleasant though

Im so sad that I really do not like this one as much as I'd thought. I'd been looking forward to getting it. at first it genuinely smells like a nursing home. like wayyy too much rose and nut notes at first. it's SO strong. maybe that's because I typically don't like rose notes too much. it does definitely smell better after a bit. has a great dry down. I layered this with flowerbomb by Viktor and Rolf and it does surprisingly smell good with it. Pink woods by ari also smells good layered with this. You just have to give this a bit to smell good.

i gave it to my mommy and shes giving it a better life than me. i do agree that rose is a good smell for glinda and think this was perfectly curated with her in mind however. just not a preferred scent for me

I'd agree with @kpop_stan, but it's not that negative to my nose. No rancid notes, but yeah, first something already seen before – rose – then a bit of Play-Doh. Not bad, just okay.

I thought that people were joking when they said this smelt like a nursing home. But oh my god, they were right.

Doesn't smell like a nursing home to me at all. Then again, as a first responder, I've been in a lot of nursing homes and they all smell like UTIs to me, so YMMV. That said, this starts with a blast of tequila and then dries down to an essential oil type of rose with a powdery bent and something a bit green. I wish I loved it, because I'd read some people saying it smells like Rose Jam with a little powder. Bummer.

Goodness GRACIOUS this is rancid!!!! In the first couple of minutes it's pleasant and reminds me of something Lush has released in the past, but after 5 minutes or so it just started smelling like play doh. Lame.

Rose Oil, Palmarosa Oil, Sesame Seed Absolute , Vanilla Absolute, Almond oil, Orris, Benzoin, Coumarin Citrusy rose with a hint of creamy sweetness. Imagine Rose Jam mixed with Creamy Candy and you have something like Glinda. I don’t think I’d have guessed that this has pistachio and sesame in the notes because the rose is pretty dominant but the almond here is creamy and sweet - it’s kinda similar to the way the Almond comes across in Space Girl. All this is to say that this is very identifiable as a Lush perfume. It’s a decent strength and has a decent longevity for a body spray (better on clothes!). I struggle with the Rose note in Rose Jam, Amelie Mae and No Way To Say Goodbye but this is probably the most wearable Rose I’ve tried from Lush. I think that if you like Rose Jam you’re likely to be into this one, but you might also be safe with it if you like American Cream, Creamy Candy, Space Girl or even the Barbie perfume.

One of my dearest friends gave me this perfume because she found it difficult to wear such a powdery fragrance. At first I was wary of using it, but I have to admit that, despite not being a revolutionary fragrance, I have ended up developing a certain temporary addiction to this fairy dust. It smells like a kind of sugary powder (a lot of sugar and a lot of dust) made with roses (as the main ingredient), violets, orris and vanilla. On my skin it is a practically linear fragrance, although its start is a little more lively and it settles sweeter and powdery, flatter. It has an intense projection and lasts more than 12 hours on me. I find it a romantic and naive fragrance, clean, relaxing, for use in cold seasons due to its sweet nuance, but only suitable for lovers of powdery perfumes and the rose note. Scent 6.5/10 Longevity 10/10 Sillage 7/10 Quality/Price 8/10 Versatility 7/10 Packaging 4/10 Would I buy again? Maybe

i was planning on blindly buying this because it’s aesthetically perfect. today i finally got a chance to visit a lush store and they had it in stock - i was so excited because i love everything wicked of course 💕🫧 sadly this smells like one of those canned hair color sprays that you’d get for your halloween costume, you know the really strong-smelling, cheap stuff that you’d have to go outside to use when you were a kid? it gave me a headache!! i was sooo sad about it!! the other bath products from the wicked collection are fantastic though - both the glinda and elphaba fragrances were a huge let down :(

Upon first smell of this I wasn’t impressed, however it’s one half of a fragrance and can be worn with the Elphaba version! This changes the Fragrance for good ;) both fragrances really bring each other together in such a clever way. I have been wearing Elphaba for months as it’s a really nice, foresty scent. That one can be worn alone, but I think Glinda is kind of sub par on its own! If you haven’t tried yet, try combining them!

This starts off as a slightly more powdery Rose Jam, then turns into a slightly more spicy version of Amelie Mae - a lipsticky rose. Really if you've got either of these, you wouldn't need to buy Glinda.
