Guardian of The Forest

I did not believe in body spray. Fragrance mist, body mist, hell eau de cologne felt too... frivolous to me. What was the point? A blast of fragrance that would fade before you could forget it was on you... This is the spray that changed everything for me. Well, one of the sprays. The other one was sticky dates, which is in terms of sheer power scarier than Inexcusable Evil. Guardian of the forest opens with a blast of evergreen, transporting you to a forest of cypress and fir. I remember walking through the Osaka castle park on a winter day, passing a tree lined street, and this is what that opening smells like. The initial car-freshener vibe mellows out into an incredibly fresh, mossy, almost cooling air that could render the hottest summers bearable through the sheer memory of crisp dry winter air. Is the longevity on par with a beast mode perfume? No... but this is a body spray. The sillage and the lifespan of each spray is beyond what I would have expected, and for the amount of money it goes for for 200ml... it’s a great gift for the self.

this is a GORGEOUS scent. i was absolutely captivated by it in the shop. strong enough to cut through the smell of the lush shop, but with this incredible depth that i just couldn't place. i was told by the shop floor assistant that what i was stuck on was probably the oakmoss. i left with a spritz of it on my wrist and spent the whole way home sniffing it because it was that good. two hours later i smelled like wet dirt. my sample card was fine, gorgeous depth and all, but me specifically? wet dirt. this perfume hates me. i did not purchase it. but other people should. this stuff smells like the concept of a forest after a fresh rain, full of greenery, filling your lungs with fresh yet deeply scented air, and i KNOW there are people out there who could rock it!! i know this!! i will be saluting you from wet dirt purgatory.

Such a wonderful green and natural smelling scent. Sniffed directly from where i sprayed it in my clothes it smells a bit woody but not much. The smell floating around me is like stepping into a shop for cut flowers. The green and herbal scent of cut stems in damp air. Still nothing harsh or bitter. I adore the cypress note (i work with plants in gardens) but can imagine how some perceive it to smell plasticky. after wearing it for a while this has become my favorite green/natural smelling scent. Can't wait to wear it in summer. Longevity is excellent. can smell it on clothes 2 days later.

Guardian of the Forest is an online exclusive only purchase in my country and was out of stock for a while. Upon getting the notification of being available, I immediately purchased it. Not disappointed at all. Love it so, so much! The initial scent smells of really lush green leafy woody pine and I'm happy its rosewood in the middle note as it gives a little bit of sweet tone to it while oakmoss adds a bit of bitter-ish smell. You can really get a bit of everything. It is a very nice balance excellent scent! If there's a perfume version of this, I am certainly getting.

damp, foresty, slightly soft floral notes. i agree with some of the comments about it's "fairy/nymph" like qualities. but not so much sweet and ethereal - more along the lines of a damp, green, sort of a mossy wood sprite? definitely a uni-sex fragrance. it's unique and quite strange, dark even? reminds me of a dark enchanted forest with spiraling trees. it can take some getting used to but I think if you're interested in mystical or magical scents it's certainly worth giving it a go! 8.5/10

This is the ultimate wet foliage, rainy forest scent. Bright, green, lush and full of life - hyperrealistic but still dreamy. Damp moss, shadowy grassy lawns, cold cypress trees. Sometimes leans more to a mossy pine forest scent, some days it smells more magical. Very strong for a body spray, okay longevity and could be better. Contains real oakmoss absolute, so it's a treat. Makes for an amazing room scent too. I love to spray it on my curtains during a rainy day.

My signature scent! It reminds me of my nighttime walks at the Old Botanical Gardens near my apartment during my mio Erasmus at Durham (UK). Mysterious woods, so alive yet the only thing that breaks the silence is the sound of your breath. You're playing hide and seek with your friends, hands wet from the dew convering the plants, and the moonlight highlights your steps.

Smells EXACTLY like silk worm poo / crushed mulberry leaves. I like it, it's nostalgic if you were a kid who climbed trees and waded through streams. It's a body spray, only lasts 20 minutes or maximum an hour under ideal conditions. I also use it as a linen spray if I am listening to a podcast or audio book or having a sunny afternoon nap. Powerfully green!

Bought this for my boyfriend and I just adore it on him. Green fields flush with daisies and wet woodland moss. It’s so green yet also cosy, smells amazing on knit sweaters. I’ll always be biased to this as it really works for my partner. Though I will say it’s not a unique one for Lush necessarily, as most of their catalogue is green and citrus.

This is something a dryad or druid would wear. Divinely green and foresty... makes me want to run away to the Black Forest. Why oh why though, does the bottle have to be so hideous and cheap looking? A plastic spray bottle is the antithesis of this fragrance - a lover of nature and all that is pure.

smells like if a forest was full of dandelions :) it always makes me feel very cozy, as if I'm on a picnic in the wild. it also lasts forever, especially on clothes. amazing value for money, one of my favorites for the summer since it brings a fresh note into my city life.

Literally a forest in a bottle, one on a nice spring day after a short shower <3 I generally use this as a room spray, especially in the morning and before I watch anything fantasy related.

I am appreciative I have the kind of nose that makes this smell like a photosynthic rain forest. I need it, I feel like I manifested into woods after rain and I am a nymph.

This perfume is divine, fairy-like, going on a spring walk into the woods, smells really natural, I don't think is a woody perfume, is a foresty green floral perfume .

Save me Guardian of the Forest!!! Save me!!!!! I wish you lasted longer tbh. I can't smell it after 40 min unless I douse myself HARD.

In this part of Europe cemeteries are usually surrounded by cypress trees and are usually associated with those stylised, pointy, fragrant trees. So around All hallow's Eve, on the 1.11. the cozy smell of burning plastic candles and chrysanthemum is filling up the air. That to the very last drop is the beginning of this body spray. Then, a few minutes later comes incredibly strong and undeniably familiar scent of the flower shop. And flower shop never smells like flowers. It smells more like the aromatic, earthy green stems they decorate arrangement with. There are a few whiffs of flowers, but rarely, only a few flowers in the flower shop actually have a scent. And this phase stays for quite some time. On the skin it fades faster and skips the last phase, but on the fabric and clothes, hours after there lingers almost sweet unrecognisable scent since it's not listed in the notes. It's a strange one and one might ditch it for how strange it smells. I wanted a spring perfume, green and mysterious instead I am transported to fall. It is beautiful in it's strangeness, something Demeter's funeral home might have been. And it doesn't evoke sadness even though it has a strong connection to a very specific day. I will still use it during spring, maybe i get to turn it around and create a new Proustian effect.

(Tested once, couple of sprays of the body spray in store) Strikes me as cucumber-aquatic (not watermelon thankfully) and cut grass-green, a little earthy, maybe some mint or other faint herbs. Cypress makes a lot of sense now that I see the notes. Otherwise not really getting woods. It's nice, quite natural, for me too expensive for what it is. EDIT - it also smells kinda soapy - I kept thinking it makes sense it was a bath bomb first. Just realized I always seem to read oakmoss as soap. That's definitely the tenacious note, going strong on my coat 6+ hrs later. At this point it's def giving me bathbomb not forest, but in the first few hours "nature" dominated, not bad.

In my opinion, this is way more floral and herbal than woody. It gets more and more vegetal as it dries down. There's an aspect of it that reminds me of freshly cut bamboo. The floral quality makes me think of thick bushes and wildflowers in a field. I can picture a Ghibli-esque flowery meadow easier than a Hyrulean forest (@Decode, I loved your analogy!). It's quite unique, but not groundbreaking. I can't wait to try it out in summer. Also, I don't get the plasticky undertone that several Lush body sprays (like Sakura) have, nor the classic Lush-store smell. I'm glad!

Airy and green wonderful scent. It's definitely more like a rainy, breezy forest. For me it feels like sweet lemons and lime at first, and then it switches to cypress. It's the same scent you get when you crush a small pine tree leaf between your fingers. For winter or even fall this seems a bit too cold, but during hot and humid summer it would be so fresh. It's also quite musky, so even though it's technically unisex, to me it seems a bit more masculine. It's not overpowering and doesn't last much.

smells almost exactly like the walk-in fridge in a flower shop, not in a floral way, but in a fresh, cold, green, and cut stems sort of way. i didn't get much of the woodsy earthy fragrance i was expecting and got chlorophyll overload instead. it's a great smell for those final stretch months of winter when you start losing your mind from being surrounded by a barren wasteland of snow and dead trees, when the only thing to do for it is to smell something green and vaguely alive.

This scent is great! It has a sort of damp leaf smell, which I find very mystical and pretty. Sounds weird until you smell it! It's really impressive, the way it can transport you to a very realistic forest environment. It's so perfect for rainy days, makes me feel magical, like a forest nymph. I love how natural and fresh it feels, it doesn't necessarily feel like a perfume and more like a lingering smell from being on a walk. Very interesting!

This smells like the green base for Kerbside Violets and V. Its nice and oakmossy and works well as a layering scent. Longevity is only a few hours though, so that's kind of a bummer, but it is a body spray and not an EDP. I think I prefer Tramp, as it seems a bit more complex. This seems pretty linear and is missing something from the bathbomb. Still nice though for those days you want to grab something that isn't overwhelming.

A sharp, green fragrance rounded off by a damp, violety softness. I'd imagine this is what a Forest Nymph or Fairy would smell like! Incredible lasting power for a body spray.

It's really lovely but longevity is horrendous

Oh my, Azzaro? Really? I fear I have become a fragrance A$$ since I can no longer see the smells like, and just ignore the misdirection. Lush fragrances are often experimental ZEN type things, not really for everyone. This body spray opens very vegetative, like a healthy pressed vege juice containing celery and greens, earthy and green. It then goes through a wet natural rose and eventually the oakmoss becomes fairly dominant. I remember picking this up based off reviews indicating this as a manly classic fougere. I did not get that so much in store (so many smells) but I bought it anyhow. This is probably the greenest scent I have encountered. It is definitely for zen purposes in my rotation. Could the oakmoss note be similar to a small portion of Azzaro? Sure. Does this smell like Azzaro? No. This is not my favorite Lush offering, it was not at all what I expected, but the title suits it for sure, and as artistry I can appreciate it when I feel the need to be grounded. This is also one of the most natural smelling fragrances I have in my rotation.

A realistic scent that reminds me of the garrigue and Mediterranean shrublands, rather than a rainy pine tree forest. Yet it doesn’t feel southern at all, and it lacks the warmth and depth to truly make it out of toilet spray territory. I had the same experience as the commenter below: it smells jarring when mixed with sweat. I thought a body spray of all things would keep me fresh through an intense dance class, but if anything it made my body odour worse.

Mow the lawn, and smell the clippings after half an hour and that's what this gives. Also, like tiger balm, and herbal ointments off the counter. I grew up smelling this scent around my grandma's things, so it doesn't feel like smelling nature. Less woody and very moss and herbal. For me, it mixes badly with my sweat. I've put this on and gone for a run later in the day and the resulting smells isn't the best.

This is an okay scent for what it is, smells quite green and earthy. For me I think it’s just too grassy and doesn’t really remind of that much of the misty dark mossy forest that I wish I would get from a scent named like this. I’m still going to wear it since it is still pleasant enough and I own it but the lawn clippings vibe is not my favorite.

It's a bit boring. The initial overpowering woodsy fresh smell you get when you first spray it reminds me a bit of toilet cleaner. I don't really think it develops much from there even when it dries down.

At first spray it smells very green, like literally walking through the forrest which i am not a fan of. It then dries down to a more clean, soapy scent which is more smooth which i enjoy a bit more.

Definitely starts out green, in fact on my skin it had the vibe of petrichor. It was this vs Tramp and I picked the latter due to its earthiness, + this one had a strange plastic note to it (not in a good way, also weren't as long lasting). For the price it's good (in my country), but not a buy for me. Unfortunately I find Lush fragrances to not be of quality when it comes to smelling, though these are labeled body sprays so I suppose one can forgive that. Still the plastic smell is something I also noticed in the Dirty body spray, but strangely not in Twilight nor Tramp.

Did not work on my skin sadly. Would really recommend to not safe buy, thought this was gonna be me in a bottle but taught me the valuable rule to try it before buy it. For the right person for who the skin chemistry works, I can see this being a 10/10. For me, it was borderline unbearable sadly.

I thought I would love this based on the descriptions but I really didn't, it is very strong and smells a little bit more artificial to me than most Lush scents. z reminds me of mould if I'm being honest.

if you are a big fan of Azzaro pour homme, this is a cheaper alternative

I took me three tries to realize, i just don't like Lush fragrances. All of the ones I've tried smells convoluted, kinda similar to when you walk in the Lush stores and you smell like 100 different fragrances all at once, its as if their fragrances inadvertently have a little bit of that same overwhelming (in a bad way) smell. This one smells like 40% hot, wet grass, 40% lime (which is wayy too much) and 20% of that nauseating Lush store smell. Horrid.

my boyfriend wears this often, it's very fresh and herbal, slightly aromatic. it's smells like pine (or cypress i guess), and it's very refreshing. i also like it as a room spray. i especially adore this fragrance because it is my favorite scent on him when we're going to bed. it transports me into a dream about a winter forest where he is the guardian and i am the princess - i imagine this is what that first whiff of narnia smells like, when you're still in the closet and you can smell the proximity of magic and winter. ♡🌬️🌲

Blind bought this and it starts with a very, very sharp green note that lasts about an hour. I guess the cypress? I swear it smells more like tomato leaf than cypress. Not for me. But after a while, it dries down to a pretty nice earthy scent of woods and oakmoss. I either get noseblind or the scent fades after that, I can’t tell. I usually loveeeee earthy scents but I’m struggling to like this.

So so so beautiful!!! I agree with the comments that this smells like damp leaves, but I also feel like it's a beautiful floral, almost violety? It is the perfect green scent. I really hope the fact that this was on sale recently doesn't mean it's being discontinued 🤞

I love a green fragrance and this is a good one. I love the lime in the opening, but I still enjoy this when it dries down and becomes more earthy and soapy on my skin. Overall a very fresh, dewy spring green scent.

Great affordable alternative for newly released MAISON MARGIELA - Soul Of The Forest EDP. Doesn’t smell cheap or synthetic. Perfect for a rainy day.

Reminds me of the smell of crushed up Dandelions. Very strong chlorophyll, extremely green type of scent.
