Honey I Washed The Kids

I'm SOOOO EXCITED!! I'm picking up my bottle tomorrow after finding out it's sold local to me less than an hour away!!! Will post a review after! (11MAY23...lunchtime) Okay...just picked up my 6.7oz bottle in-store. Amazing attendee running the store also, coolest woman I've met in months! I'll be picking up "Vanillary", "Shade", "American Cream" and "Lord of Misrule" in the upcoming weeks...I don't think I can wait until September. Okay, back to the fragrance. This is the most smooth, luscious, decadent and aromatic "HONEY" fragrance that I own!! I previously gave that title to "L'Envol de Cartier-EDT" but THIS is sooooo much smoother!! It has all the same beauty of the honey, but with creamy vanillic notes and a citrus combination that almost smells peachy to me! I'd previously planned to buy a backup bottle of "LDC" but I don't think I'll need to do that. I'll hang onto what I have left in that bottle, but it won't be used anytime soon. I'll be on my "LUSH-HIWTK" kick for the next few weeks and it will be my summertime "Honey" fragrance this year! I sprayed three shots to my chest and one on my wrist and spread it between the two. I'm in the happiest most decadent citrus-honey-vanilla scent bubble!!!! I can pick up a nice earthy note in the background, I don't know what it is...but i love it!! It's grounding the sweetness of the fragrance and bringing it back from "Uber-Gourmand" territory and making it more...mature. I really hope to experience the caramel and toffee notes later in the wear...this will be amazingly perfect if that happens. To start out with this gorgeous HONEY and CITRUS and then to transform to two of the sweetest most decadent gourmand notes later on!?!? This will be about as close to perfect as it comes!! So far, the sillage trail on this fragrance is PHENOMENAL!! I don't know how much it's projecting as I can smell it clearly, but if someone else comments on it I'll update this review. I think that I'll be wearing this, layered of course, with various vanilla and woody fragrances over the next week. I'm definitely in love with this one! 10/10 in every category!! EDIT: (15:24) This layers PERFECTLY with "M.M. - By The Fireplace" !!!! EDIT: (21:54) OMG OMG OMG...Okay, while cuddling tonight, the wife said to me "Omg, what are you wearing...you smell like dessert!!!" You...don't know...how LONG...I've been waiting to hear those words!!! You don't know how many fragrances i've bought to get those words...and FAILED!! I FINALLY HAVE A FRAGRANCE THAT MAKES ME SMELL EDIBLE!!!! 💛💛💛💛💛 WOOHOOOOOO!!!! 💛💛💛💛💛

It has the scent of honey, through and through. From the first spray until after a few days on your clothes in the laundry basket, this perfume presents itself quite evidently. There’s also a presence of green or clean notes in the opening, which is a great contrast from the sweetness of milk and honey. Citrus notes loom somewhere in the background; only a tinge of it is prominent, but it is there, and again, works to dampen the sweetness of honey. This is why despite being heavy on honey, this does not become excessively cloying. I wore this at work, and I had several men come up to me and shower me with compliments. I noticed that, overall, men have more affinity with this perfume than women. And the projection is wickedly long with this one; I leave a trail everywhere I go for hours on end. From the start of my 16-hour shift until I reached home the next morning, people have been noticing the smell. This perfume will undoubtedly garner you all the attention you deserve.

On me, this is a heavy, syrupy fragrance. And when I say heavy, I mean I have to hold my breath after spraying this one! But it is one of my favorites, I love a heavy gourmand. I don't get any of the citrus notes that other folks have mentioned here, on me this is just a rich, caramel and honey heavy scent. I have noticed that Lush's fragrances sometimes irritate my skin and make me feel oily. I try to spray on my clothes or neck only. With about 4-5 sprays, this lasts on me all day. I can even smell it on my clothes the following day, or on my seatbelt in the car. If you're looking for a heavy, sweet, and edible-smelling fragrance, this one is definitely one to try, but I recommend smelling it on yourself first to see if you get more of the citrus or the gourmand.

Probably my favorite Lush scent! I’m a huge fan of the Scrubee. I was so happy when they put out a body spray based on it. I would say Honey I Washed the Kids came pretty dang close to the actual smell of the Scrubee. I would say Scrubee smelled a bit more lactonic, and HIWTK just doesn’t have that factor. It does smell like honey, vanilla, and caramel to me. However, something smells a little sharp and green. It smells more like a field of wildflowers, surrounded by fuzzy honeybees. I thought it would smell more like oatmeal, warm vanilla, and sweet honey. At least, that’s how Scrubee smells to me. I would say HIWTK is a warm vanilla honey scent, but it does have an element of freshness. I do enjoy it.

I absolutely love this scent from Lush. HIWTK has always been my favourite scent range but for some reason I’d never thought to get the spray. It opens with the most gorgeous honey citrus scent that is the closest to the bar soap smell. It dries down slightly powdery whilst still maintaining its fresh and sweet mix. It’s not overly sweet and balances freshness so beautifully, so it’s not cloying in the heat at all. The value for money is incredible as the lasting power is basically the same as an EDP and you get 200ml for under £25! If you love the scent range I would definitely recommend this fragrance.

My favorite scent! Smells like an earl grey tea loaf dessert with a big emphasis on brown sugar with an honey drizzle and robust bergamot leaves. I sprayed the bedroom with 1 spray and my bf came into the room and he said it smells like cookies. For my nose and skin chemistry this is like fresh sweet gourmand. Absolutely love it and wish it came with a perfume option too since this only stays on my skin for about 2 hours. Accidentally got it on my shirt the other day and it lasted over 8 hours. Definitely prefer it on my skin. :) So delightful and will never get over it!

OK, OK, the opening is AWFUL!! Pure honey-essenced yoghurt. (It's not awful for yoghurt, it's just awful for perfume.) If you're patient and can wait 5-10 minutes, that awfulness goes away and you're left with a beautiful, gooey, honey, caramel-y candy that smells divine! It has decent sillage, and great longevity for a body spray. I got a good 4 hours out of it. I'm on hour 5 now and it's a lovely skin scent. I will be buying a full bottle of this, even if the bottle is hideous. Side note: I "accidentally" mixed it with Wulong Cha and it is really beautiful!

I’m obsessed with this scent line from Lush. I was first introduced to it from the Shoot for the Stars body scrub and was addicted. I love how it’s a caramel scent but with a bit of candy fruitiness..almost like a sour patch kid vibe but more rounded and gourmand. I have the Golden Egg body wash, Scrubee, and Soft Couer body bar. They’re all the same scent as the HIWTK body spray. A little goes a long way for sure! I like to spray it on my clothes and hair. Mixes well with Lush Karma on the wrists and behind the ears and HIWTK on clothes and hair

I was first skeptical to purchase this as I tend to stay away from hyped out perfumes but man this is my jam. It combines citrusy!orange note with caramel so deliciously that you smell like sweet toffee.what i also like is that it’s edible,you can layer with another gourmand perfumes. When i spray it in the room,the entire room smells like toffee..and the price? 26€ for 200ml is amazing!!! Btw i also receives a lot compliments from people around me. I was on business dinner and meeting and everyone said i smell good

This one is soo beautiful. I found this scent first after receiving their honey soap in gift box and I completely fall in love with it. It reminds me so much of those gel bath beads that my parents use to buy me all the time when I was a child. It’s sweet but to me also very clean and comforting scent that I love to put on after shower while Im at home. It is pretty linear in my opinion. Longevity is surprisingly good! Silage not so much but if you spray little more people will definitely notice you! It’s yummy! 🥰

This smells so delicious and fun. It’s not necessarily something I’d wear to the office or somewhere I want to be taken seriously. Instead, this is more playful! I never thought that I’d be into gourmandy scents, but wow I love this. I use one spray which makes me smell like something salted caramel/Frappuccino-y at first. The sillage drastically settles down after 30ish minutes (which I prefer, because at first it is enormous) and stays close to me. This is also when the citrus tones come out to play.

I’ve loved Lush Honey I Washed the Kids for years — it’s a real nostalgia scent for me. I’m not sure why there are so many negative reviews, because to my nose it’s exactly what it should be. It’s sweet, honey-caramel with a citrus twist that gives it an almost herbal gourmand feel, if that’s a thing. Like all Lush body sprays, it’s incredibly strong, which is perfect for me. An absolute must for anyone who loves a good gourmand and is familiar with the scent. I wouldn't say it's a safe blind buy.

There is no lush store near me so I blind bought this (nervously - some of these reviews are hectic!) but it turns out I love it. I smell milk and honey and indefinable sweetness and love to wear it before bed - a light spray of this and another of Sleepy/Twilight and I sleep sooo well. I already have a backup bottle and have also decanted some into a smaller dark glass spray bottle for when I want less of a drenching and more of a mist, lol. This fragrance makes me happy.

This smells exactly like the shampoo and body wash version, which makes me so happy because I have purchased the shower products in the past and loved them, wishing the scent would last a little longer past shower time. It's essentially a cheaper body mist version of those London fog/earl grey tea kind of perfumes due to the mix of the toffee caramel and citrus notes on here. So if that's a scent you like, this is a good alternative to those.

tried 1 spritz of it in Japan like 9pm before heading back to the hotel, woke up and had to wear the same shirt it still smells moderately, wore it without spraying anything else all day, went out all day since 10am (it was quite rainy/snowy with strong wind) the came back that night still smelling like it although very faintly. don't buy this if you don't want to commit to it, im sure the bottle will last me like 5 years

Such a delicious, mouthwatering true gourmand! Ugh it smells so good! Straight up honey toffee and salted caramel. To me the caramel definitely feels like it would be salted caramel and not the regular kind, there's kind of a salty vibe to it. So cozy and delicious. It smells exactly like the infamous Scrubee at Lush. I think it's perfect for bedtime because it's so rich, comforting and cozy.

Cozy and comforting and nostalgic reminds me of when I was a kid and would go to lush and smell all the soaps and I always liked honey I washed the kids the best this to me smells like white chocolate cookies with lemon and honeycomb i really really love it and wear it moast days and people will ask what im wearing and say you smell so nice I will continue to keep buying this and the soap

Lush Honey I Washed The Kids smells like natural honey with orange and lemon slightly mixed in that accentuates the pinched amount of any animalic aroma from the honey. Sweet honey freshened with citruses. When layered, it compliments both fresh and sweet scents. I love the smell so much more than Sticky Dates and Yog Nog since it's not overpowering and can be used mostly all year round.

There's a very powerful spray on this that leaves you heavily coated in pure caramel and citrus. At first there's an almost butterscotch-y smell with a slight hint of citrus. After a few hours the fragrance balances out, and the mixture of orange and honey is sweet and smooth. A good compliment getter, with strong sillage and decent longevity. Layers well with Soft from Al Rehab.

i really like this! i was surprised that i don't pick up the citrus that much, considering a lot of people have complained of it being too citrusy. for a body spray, the longevity and sillage is very impressive. i could smell it on me all day after testing in the store! a super sweet and rich scent, truly a gourmand lover's dream :)

One of my all time favorite body sprays! Longevity is better than many perfumes and edts have. This is fresh but sweet at the same time. Perfect and unique mixture sugary and citrussy notes. Reminds me of crepes drizzled with lemon and honey. I like to layer this with Le Couvent de Maison's Aqua Millefolia. So comforting! 💛

I wanted something with a scent similar to Scrubee from the same brand, and this i identical. So happy that I found it! To me this is the perfect gourmand, it's sweet and warm but with fresh vibes from the citrus notes. I don't get honey at all, this is white chocolate with lemons 🍋🤍 And the lasting power is insane.

This is my longest lasting perfume by far. Just a few spritz in the morning and and I smell it until I wash it off in the shower before bed. I love the toffee scent and find it pairs well with lighter florals as well if you feel like mixing perfumes one day. Is quickly becoming a favorite.

This is a very sweet toffee and honey scent. At first spray i get a lot of the honey and toffee but as it lingers and dries down i get more of the caramel and vanilla with the citruses. I absolutely love the dry down but not so much at first sprits.

Sickly sweet and decadent (not derogatory); I am wearing this beautiful honey toffee combo all throughout winter! It can be cloying though so if you're a gourmand hater, even a few spritz is going to wack you in the nose with how sweet it is.

I love it. Doesn't smell super strongly of actual honey to me, more like a honey and peanut butter sandwich. The orange note is nice, but sometimes it's like, all I can smell. Cute scent to wear to a café or market. I reach for it in summer.

Smells like lemon toffee. It's not cloying or sickeningly sweet like bbw fragrances. The honey, citrus and toffee blends together really well. I guess the lemon scent is the most prominent, so it does smell more citrusy

So yummy! I tested it two summers ago on my arm, and couldn't stop sniffing, so I had to buy it. One of my most wearable fragrances, just because it feels so comfortable.

Quite the fragrance! very strong toffee scent at first which slowly diffuses into a citrus-honey scent. Would not recommend if you don't like sickly sweet scents.

How come the rating is only 3.81? The scent is amazing, cosy, inoffensive, long lasting mood booster. Absolutely in love & will definitely repurchase.

Cozy sweet just a lovely body spray instant love

Went to the store to try the famous Sticky Dates bc I was curious, and I'm also looking for a sweet caramel/honey perfume to add to my collection. I didn't like it, it smells like burnt caramel popcorn, very similar to Cheirosa 71, but Cheirosa is definitely more well blended. The lady that was working in the store introduced me to this after telling her what I was looking for. First spray: very alcoholic and citrussy, but she told me right away: give it time, go have a walk and let me know if you like it. After 2 minutes it blended into the most beautiful caramel/honey vanilla perfume, I didn't really smell the bergamot, I guess it adds freshness to the scent. I'm thinking of buying either this one or Eclair. Cream velvet by Khadlaj also sounds interesting, but it's impossible to find right now in my country. Doesn't last a lot, after 2 hours and a half it was completely gone, but it's pretty good for a body spray I would say. Take it into consideration if you don't want to spend a lot of money and you'd like an inoffensive everyday perfume. Some of the other reviews are misleading, you can't say a perfume sucks if you don't give it enough time to blend and maturate.

I can see why a lot of people find this overwhelming. These bottles are ridiculous, on par with super soaker water pistols. They over saturate one area, and you end up with too much product which changes the scent profile. I have a few of these, but all of them get decanted into 10ml atomisers with better spray nozzles which diffuses and controls the spray much better. We shouldn't need to though, and I really wish Lush would sort it out and come up with better packaging because, let's face it, they're ugly anyway. That being said, this particular scent I am very fond of as my children always loved the corresponding soap, they still love when I buy them a bar now they're grown. It doesn't quite smell the same as the soap or scrubbee, there's a little more citrus going on with the spray. Cozy and comforting scent, not as full on tooth rottingly sweet as Let the Good Times Roll (which I also own).

I was finally able to have this again after finding a bottle of it at a relative's house, who let me have it ♡ I loved this when I was younger as its such a syrup-y sweet scent, reminds me of baked goods & tea on a spring or early autumn morning. I dont have too much to say on it to be honest, as much as I wish I did but it's pretty basic & straightfoward on its profile, a sweeet honey toffee dessert that is quite truthfully a good not overtly sugary gourmand and for that it's well worth it's more lower end pricing. You could honestly pair this with other gourmands like Dates, Maple Syrup, tea & coffee based scent products. I like adding it to Demeter's Peanut Butter & Jelly personally but could go wonderfully with their waffles or other bakery scents as well.

I know many folks don't like food scents, but even if you're not a fan I would still recommend this scent. Something about it is just different, I think, than the average food-based perfume (ie "cupcake," "vanilla," "birthday cake," etc.). It has more depth, it's more mature, and while it smells tasty it's still clearly a body spray. It's a warm, fun scent. While it is sweet, it is far from cloying. The scent was decently long-lasting and not at all overpowering or too strong. I kind of wish that it had a stronger sillage, but I also think that a scent that stays close to you has its benefits. I definitely recommend this scent.

DEEEEEELICIOUS!!!! Oh my days, I am OBSESSED with this scent! It's deffo my new go-to. Thank FUCK for the Lush 50% off sale because I would have never gotten this otherwise lolololol. I was actually surprised at how long lasting this is for a mere body spray. Even in sunny + humid climate, this lasted a minimum of 6 hours on me. I could still smell it on me all day, and I even foolishly thought someone else around me was wearing this scent.... until it eventually dawned on me that I was smelling //myself// lmfao. It's so yummy in a way that Lush has just nailed. If there was a signature Lush scent, I would deffo say it's this.

Opens with an STRONG airy sweeeet honey (emphasis on the honey) & caramel, I didn’t pick up much citrus but it was there (kind of peachy like). The dry down reminds me of like a biscuit toffee cookie like in the notes picture with honey & the touch of peach. At first I didn’t like how strong the honey was and the opening just wasn’t for me on initial sniff, but as it settled I found myself liking it more and more. I can’t stop sniffing my arm and I could honestly bite myself because I do smell delicious. This is a real gourmand, you have to like sweet sweet fragrances! I’m happy with my choice !

I'll be honest: it was a gift that I had left sealed, ‘cause it didn't invite me to explore it. I decided to try it, it smelled quite acidic/lemony/orangy and this citrusy vibe dominated. I was disappointed and wanted to give it away. I came back to it though, because there is something addictive about it. I like it more and more every day! Now, I smell a mouthwatering scent of melted, running, real caramel, with just a touch of citrus juice! It also lasts like an Edt, rather than a body mist! (Tip: I layered it with Prada candy, and it totally blew my mind! )

Like a lot of LUSH body sprays, the opening of this is straight-up alcohol, but it has a very pleasant gourmand flower scent once settling. It's way, way more soapy and floral than anyone mentions--it does smell a lot like the body wash, but removed from that context it really does not give off all that much honey. LUSH's body sprays, as always, can compete with perfumes, but this is definitely lighter than a lot of their other scents.

learned about this from the black hearted tart dupe which is more blood orange forward. not a fan of the strong caramel/toffee/burnt sugar opening but the juicy citrusy drydown comes quickly and is very refreshing. near the very end, the orange disappears and the gourmands return (this isn't too bad since it's so faint tho)

A sweet honey toffee scent, with hints of vanilla—the toffee is honestly unique. I like it, it doesnt live up to the LUSH goat Sticky Dates. Was kind of underwhelmed with this, I have to spray so much for it to stay... But i still like it lol, just needs to be layered/prepped with scented lotion to stick

a pretty nice fragrance. i think my bottles gone bad or something since it smells far worse than it did when i bought it, but i remember it smelling very sticky, like gooey toffee or fudge with honeyed notes. just wish the bottle was a bit more presentable. the body wash of this is great too

Super sweet, creamy, honey. I bought this for a cosy fragrance as I don't really have any and it definitely does the job. Gourmand autumn/winter vibes, great for a rainy day in the house. Doesn't last super long on me but the bottle still lasts me a while.

Starts off as honeycomb toffee with citrus, then dries down to like.. a chalky candy like american smarties or PEZ candies like another review says. Maybe that's just me though? I don't like the citrus in this, but I like the dry down and the honey scent.

Very sweet and enjoyable white chocolate and honey with floral and minimal citrus-y undertones. It smells identical to the scrubee exfoliating soap (as a matter of fact, it even smells better) Overall very enjoyable if you’re into gourmand scents :)

got it as a gift because i'm a big fan of the honey i washed the kids line ! i really like this scent, it's a bit more on the citrus side that the OG scent from the showergel. overall a nice bodyspray to use, especially after a shower <3

The first hit was straight up toffee, I was shook, I really wanted to eat my testing strip. It goes away quite quickly and turns into honey/caramel infusion, but is still that edible type. Reminds me of Christmas time. Will be buying!
