Honey I Washed the Kids

I LOVE "It's Raining Men" shower gel from Lush. It does fabulous things for my hair and smells delicious. I love the "Gold Fun" bath playdough, the "Honey I Washed The Kids" soap (minus the wax on the top), and even the "Honey Bee" bath bomb even though it leaves clay in my tub. So naturally I had to hunt down the perfume to complete the scent circle. I always use their solids when first trying out a scent if I can, since my allergies can be iffy-wiffy. Omg, this smells so amazing and just like the bath products! Buttery goodness with just enough citrus to balance out the sweetness, and just enough floral to make the honey smell realistic and not like cheap vanilla. Edit: So the solid of this definitely leans more toward a butterscotch scent, whereas the spray version has a slightly more floral feel going. Both are awesome, though.

I'm reviewing the 2015 Lush Kitchen formula. This is absolutely divine! This smells like toffee/caramel and honeycomb with a light soapy feel which is very true to the original scent in the LUSH soap. There is also a slightly white chocolately vibe which reminds me of the best hot chocolate money can buy. Or a bar of "crunchy" chocolate which they sell here in the UK (honeycomb covered in chocolate). It is very wearable, however, and not overpowering. I usually would not wear gourmands this thick in the summer heat, but this is light enough that it works in all weathers. Very clean smelling, despite the foody notes, and perfect those looking for something sweet and yummy without being too much.

There is something fresh lingering behind the sweetness, something that refreshes you while it lulls you. It's not really citrussy rather what's left after the citrussy has gone. A tingy sharpness that gives this sweet scent its charm. Whenever I use it, people react. I love it, it lifts my mood.

Why oh why don't they make this scent perfume anymore and why is it always stuck in the U.K. and never in thr states , I just received a lush kitchen version and it it's awesome and honeyed unlike the body spray which is enjoyable , and both have different facets why they should both be here .

It goes on completely citrus cleaner, but dries down to a very intimant honey sweetness quick enough to be worth it. Not a perfect honey perfume, but a pleasant entry to that category which doesn’t mix in too many other scents. Now if only Lush would release a Sticky Date perfume.

Yummy! They captured this scent very nicely. Smells just like HIWTK soap and It's Raining Men shower gel. It is extremely sweet but so yummy. It's a very honey, caramel, and slightly floral scent that just makes you want to eat yourself!! lol

They should make this perfume into food so I can eat it. Smells delicious, definitely gourmand but clean as well with a soapy finish which makes it very wearable. I wore this at Christmas all the time as it seemed perfect for the season.

Sweeeeeeet but dont care coz HIWTK is lovely super YUMMY scent! It's rich caramel toffee!! If you still cant imagine how is the scent and dont have LUSH shop nearby, u can go supermarket & find Werther's original candy, it is the same!!!

Sweet honey that has a beautiful dry down. Perfect. So juicy and delicious. So sweet and smooth. Real life like honey smell, not a shit artificial one. Permeates perfectly and its so strong.

Oh how I WISH they still had this available... The one LUSH perfume I cannot find anymore :-(

I'm not much of a gourmand girlie, so I'm more than content with my wee 10ml via the Kitchen box, but my goodness do I love the HIWTK scent family! Brings to mind orange chocolate, honeycomb and gooey caramel all at once. Makes me feel like I'm being hugged by the person I love most. Super sweet, decedent, and above all, comforting -- but HEAVY emphasis on that 'super sweet' part. As much as I love HIWTK, in perfume format it's a bit too much for me a lot of the time (it released about 2 years ago according to the label, and I've only used about 3ml so far!), so I gravitate towards the handful of other gourmands I own a lot of the time. (FWIW, that would mainly be Replica Matcha Meditation & Kilian Angels' Share.) I'm still glad to own this vial for the handful of times I'm in the mood to rock it, but admittedly I prefer it a lot more in bath bomb, shower gel and soap format.

Simple 3 note wonder. First scent is largely of caramel, rich and thick but not too syrupy or burnt. It is seamlessly layered with bee's wax and honey, which evens out the smell of the caramel and gives it a 'thick' smell. Lastly, is a bit of orange which keeps the whole thing from smelling too sweet and gives it a slight fruit identity. It smells kind of soapy too, like the wax of glycerin soap. Sort of like clean skin musk. I think this helps create the illusion that the scent was transferred onto your skin by soap rather than perfume.

For anyone wondering, the Lush shops in Japan still carry this as a solid perfume: other than the UK, Japan has the most Lush shops in the world! If anyone's looking for this discontinued perfume, you may want to get one shipped in from there. (Japan Lush also carries The Olive Branch solid perfume) Delicious honey/caramel smell.

The soap is great, but the perfume (might have been the bottles I got--I got two different ones, one from each release, though) was kinda...well, it smelled mostly like alcohol and something bitter from the bottle. On the skin, it mellowed out to something closer to the soap, but usually still a little too bitter/waxy for me.

Wow! It smells just like the notes listed! If you love sweet gourmands then one not to miss. Quite an intense opening. Too sweet for me. Loads of toffee! I was hoping the citrus might be more dominant but nope. Moderate sillage and longevity

They have discontinued the parfum, but you can still find the scent in soap and in the solid shampoo bar. I love the honey with a hint of carmel/toffee scent. It is sweet but not cloying and doesn't make me hungry. My favorite Lush scent.

I had a solid version of this perfume and enjoyed it. Cozy and playful, clean and warm, with a touch of honey sweetness. The name of this perfume helps to bring these diverse sniff-impressions together :)

Initially candy caramel but dries down to vanilla yogurt quite quickly. Not what I had expected - wanted a thick, rich caramel!

I am a fan of Lush's Honey I Washed the Kids Soap and was excited when the fragrance edition of this scent came out. Unfortunately there's something here that's not quite right with this scent. On my skin it never settles down to that gorgeous toffee/honey/caramel scent that I've come to love. I believe the bergamot and orange mixture in this is what's making this rather sharp. There's no warmth here, its very much a cold sharp sweet smell that reminds me of white bleached sugar. However, when my bottle of this leaked onto a scarf I was delighted to find the resulting scent a lot closer to the warm toffee caramel scent I love. I wont be repurchasing this but its a nice thing to have in my collection.

My old roommate would put this on liberally for ""important events"". He made every room he walked into smell like cloyingly sweet, rotten fruit, as well as putting whatever room he sprayed it in out of commission for an unknown amount of time. That room typically ended up being our shared bedroom. Would not recommend, for the sake of the community.

When it comes to gourmands, I am much more enthusiastic about wearing something that smells like honey rather than cotton candy. I've been searching for a realistic honey scent for quite some time. I did enjoy Serge Lutens Miel de Bois, but it wasn't what I wanted. Since finding Honey I Washed The Kids, I believe I may have found the closest to what I was looking for. Honey I Washed The Kids is a fairly linear scent, with syrupy honey, sugary vanilla and gooey caramel. It smells delicious and foody, just like a gourmand should be. The opening is where the honey note is at its strongest. I was amazed by how realistic it smelt on my skin. It was just like sticking your nose in a jar of honey and inhaling. Although the honey note is dominant throughout this composition, it does tend to lessen in intensity. The heart and drydown introduces the vanilla and caramel which helps in balancing out the fragrance. As far as I'm aware, Honey I Washed The Kids was a limited edition that has long since been discontinued. The last time I inquired about this fragrance in a Lush store, I was re-directed to a shower gel named It's Raining Men and told that it's the same scent, just re-named. I was lucky enough to be sent a sample from a kind Lush fragrance collector. Since falling for it, I guess I'll now have to join the ranks of fans waiting for a bottle to appear on Ebay.

This perfume is certainly something else. With a very prominent Play Doh note, crayon waxy toffee, very sweet and unmistakable. The honey is sweet, a little pee-y and the orange is mostly sweet and just a little zesty, bringing out the higher pitch in this caramel. Don't say I didn't warn you. The liquid, long discontinued, smells the same and is as strong as the solid currently for sale in Japan. The perfume is exactly the same as the soap, except the perfume is ten times more potent. Wear in minute amounts and this can be a real beauty.

I used to work in Lush so am very familiar with this smell. It's a one of kind gorgeousness that's hard to describe. The description of Citrus/Gourmand is wrong in my opinion. It's not citrussy. If you think this blend is going to be overwhelmed by honey then fear not. It's a very light, almost Tofee-Lite smell which is sooo addictive and comforting. Beautiful beautiful smell. The soap and other products are just as gorgeous. If you've ever had a chocolate bar called "Caramac" then you're onto the right track of what this smells like.

I really love Lush a lot.They care so much for the Mother Earth,and for the animals. I still have a pinch left of the solid for this lovely vegan scent,but I am running really low. I am sad that mine is almost gone. I simply cannot afford this spray (I want it though,and I am so happy it is vegan) I have a GORGEOUS dupe from a sweet online seller. It is a roll-on oil. It smells like sweet orange candy, and toffee. Very softly scented.

I wanted to love this and I am a honey fan. But the orange and bergamont made this too lemoney for my taste. It dries down and for like an hour, smells divine. It smells like honey, toffee and creamy vanilla. I also didn't care for the solid form which I had to scrape with my fingernail out of the tin. Luckily the Bath and Body Works reformulation of Warm Vanilla Sugar smells like the dry down of this. I highly recommend.

This review is for the 2018 body spray. It opens with almost a yogurt tang. That tangy scent dries down quite quickly and morphs into a white floral/honey/toffee scent. It eventually settles into a lovely honey/toffee/white chocolate with only a hint of the white floral. I do not detect any citrus in this version. Not huge sillage or lasting power.

This is such a comforting, feel good fragrance. Imagine a creamy toffee, milk and honey, french nougat and orange marmalade. This is probably what Paddington Bear would smell like if you gave him a snuggle! I own the body spray version of this fragrance, and longevity is really really good.

Unfortunately discontinued. I know they still sell it as soap, but I recently tried Flying Fox and actually liked it better. Probably because I love jasmine. I'm hoping they'll eventually produce Flying Fox as a fragrance.

I expected a perfume replica of the soap (cf. Devil's Nightcap) but to my surprise it's actually not. There's a bit of sour, white wine tinge. I'd liken this perfume to vanilla yogurt.

Toffee, salted caramelised oranges and honey. Not enough honey IMHO, there's an almost Greek Honey yoghurt quality to this, not too bad at all, but works better in the Lush soap form.

It smells like the soap, but not as subtle. It was a special edition. I can see why they didn't put it in their permanent line. Something was just off..

Does anyone know of a fragrance that truly smells like Honey I Washed The Kids soap and hasn't been discontinued?

I keep buying the soap , but can't find the perfume in my country ( ITALY)
