Lord of Misrule

Oh my beloved Lord of Misrule ❤️ It embodies everything I love about Lush fragrances, its blending is not sophisticated, it's not seamless, each note is very much in your face. I can smell the patchouli, pepper and vanilla without any trouble, it is very simple and straightforward. Although I don't really like most of the other offerings from Lush, I really do respect how they are unapologetically different, somehow they have an amateur feeling to them, like the perfumer behind them is new to blending and his/her creations end up being a little brash and rough around the edges. I say this to give them a big compliment. It is truly refreshing to smell them when I find that there is a big lack of originality going on in both the designer and niche fields. And obviously their perfumers aren't novices, this is just the Lush style that you'll either love or hate. At first I smelled Lord of Misrule on my boyfriend who had the shower gel and I immediately went to the nearest Lush store to buy some for me. At the time Lush wasn't selling it regularly, but some time later I managed to get the perfume oil but I lost out on getting the perfume that time. I only managed to finish 1/4 of the bottle in a year, with using it a ton. The oil was also potent enough to get me compliments in the first hour after applying it. I still craved the perfume so I could spray it and get an ever bigger projection and finally a couple of months ago Lush added it to the permanent collection. I immediately grabbed a bottle and now I layer the oil and perfume together when I want extra strength. Sadly the oil seems to be discontinued. This is a masterpiece. Lush really created something more special, interesting and beautiful than I have smelled in a long time. And with such limited ingredients. When using the perfume I get a very good projection, the sillage is great and so is longevity. People can actually smell it on me from an arms length for 4-5 hours and then it sits a bit closer to the skin. At the same time it's not loud or obtrusive. I'll put it on in the morning and I can still smell it a bit when going to bed in the evening. The scent is intoxicating. The pepper note stays through the whole experience but becomes more subtle after the first 20 minutes. The rest is the gorgeous combination of vanilla and patchouli. It is kind of hippy, carefree and makes no excuses for not being a "regular" perfume. And that's the beauty of it, it just is what it is. And despite being the way it is, it has drawn very different people in. The people that give me compliments on it are the most diverse group, ranging from the clean smelling sophisticated lady, and "I don't like perfumes" guy, to the suit wearing corporate guy and the jock. People in general just seem to be drawn to it. I don't usually get many compliments on my perfumes in general, just the occasional one, but Lord of Misrule seems to draw people in. And I can understand why. It's amazing. I will always have a bottle of it from now on.

♠️ WARNING: UNSTABLE FORMULA; PERFUME WENT BAD IN 11 MONTHS ♠️ Yeah, so, after a year of owning this fragrance, something went very wrong with it. Now it's like a bubblegum that went and took a roll in dirt. It was stored properly - the perfume was sealed, and was kept out of sunlight. 11 months. I am talkign about the liquid 30ml perfume. You can find my positive review from last year here. And yet. WHAT ISSS THIIISSSS The pepper note is completely gone, MIA, and the sweetness from vanilla completely flattened. This is very odd, considering that vanilla usually intensifies with perfume age. Moreover, while I usually like and don't particularly mind patchouli, the fragrance became very patchouli-centred, medicinal and slightly reminiscent of sweaty, pungent feet covered in Tiger balm. It feels more like Reminiscence Patchouli, which is fine if you're into deeeep patchouli-centric chocolatey medicinal scents but ... no. There is a comment below that said that this perfume reminds him if mould and mildew, and I am heartbroken to say I get it now. But in the begininng, it was so, so beautiful... I'm kind of sad about it. A fragrance is supposed to be stable enough to last a year, especially seasonal stuff like this. It just smells incorrect now? The smell changed so much... The drydown is still wearable, but it makes me slightly nauseus. WHY. WHYYYY I'm sad to not rebuy it as it was my wish to have if for quite a while, but I think I'll keep to the solid or the shower gel to get my kick of black pepper. for the longest time, I thought this was a The Legend of Zelda collaboration, after all, Lush has partnered with Nintendo before you see, my dyslexic ass read Misrule as Hyrule so, I went out and got it, and I wore it for several months fully convinced that I was wearing Lord of Hyrule anyway, it is very TLoZ ngl it’s exactly what I imagine Twilight Princess' Link would smell like I laughed a bit reading a review that described this as a "nothing" fragrance (derogatory) not too cold, not too warm, not too spicy nor clean, neither safe nor risky, and honestly, I do agree with that to some degree, but in a complimentary way -- I think the blend is so well-executed that there's something about its simplicity that makes it quite unique you know how amber is actually a blend of balsams and vanilla, I think this is very much that type of vanilla mix, but with earthy, spicy patchouli substituted for the styrax or labdanum, and that’s how you get this scent, so I'd describe it as a true patchouli-amber rather than just patchouli plus vanilla it's not quite as pleasing as the green body lotion or the green solid fragrance version, I must say, but it's pretty damn close, and I do appreciate it as a whole Link and Hyrule are bound to be on my mind every time I wear this, so it'll always have a special place in my heart !!

I have the solid version of Lord of Misruel, and the opening is so bright and herbal, my fiance calls it my "perfume that smells like green." No, he did not see the solid before naming it this. And it really does smell like green-- the fresh Pancholi is very strong. The vanilla is noticeable in the opening, but not at all sweet, and same with the pepper-- not too sneezy, like with Death and Decay (though I do love that about the perfume). As the day goes on, I notice myself gravitating to sniffing my wrists-- it's really a smell that wakes you up when you're in a three-hour evening class, but without being too sharp. The vanilla becomes more obvious, maybe a little sweeter, at least with my skin. By the end of the day, the pepper and the Pancholi are the dominant notes, if the perfume is even still there at all. This is quite a masculine perfume. I don't get many compliments on it , they're usually from men, and they ask what I'm wearing. On a very cutesy, princess-like, small women, this could be a disorienting and weird scent, but I'm quite a masculine and naturalistic, so I feel like it works on me. It could easily work on any man, though. I'm sure my fiance would wear it if he didn't think matching perfumes with your girlfriend was a little weird.

Back in November, when I was online shopping for a bottle of Tiger By Her Side, I made the grim discovery that the house of Sana Jardin appears to have shuttered. TBHS is one of my very favorite fragrances. And it’s sold out, all over. So I took to Reddit for some insight and commiseration. Someone wrote that Lord of Misrule scratches their TBHS itch. So naturally I sampled it a week later at a Lush store. Right at first sniff, it scratched that itch for me, too. So I brought home a travel spray for some more testing. Once it’s empty? I’ll be adding a bottle to my collection. Disclosed notes are black pepper, patchouli, and vanilla. Not complicated, but it’s so exquisitely blended and feels gloriously lavish and complex. I, for one, am absolutely cuckoo for patchouli – and I’d say this is a good one for the patch averse. The vanilla here reminds me of the vanilla in Profumum Rosa Gioiosa. It’s a gourmand vanilla. So thick, robust, and buttery it tempers the composition into one that’s resemblant of an amber blend rather than a polarizing patch explosion. Earthy, creamy, and a little bit powdery. An affordable change-up from Grand Soir on cold days when I’m seeking that same warm, spicy-sweet, cocooning comfort. It’s gorgeous. Big love for this one.

An earthy, mature, vanilla. I had been hesitant on buying this fragrance due to the sharpness I got when I sprayed it on paper. The inital spray on paper would cause me to pull back and runaway from Lord of Misrule (LOM)! Today is boxing day, and its 50% holiday items at Lush. I decided to pick up LOM because it was on sale, and I knew that my mom enjoyed LOM so I could just give it to her if I didnt enjoy it. When I got home.. LOM completely changed. It smelled entirely different in store and out of store! I love it so so so much now. On initial spray, I get a blast of patchouli and pepper. Its sharp, but somehow the patchouli rounds out the pepper. As the fragrance continues to dry down, the pepper slowly flutters away while the warm vanilla peaks through. On full dry down, I get a wonderful, earthy, patchouli vanilla with hints of pepper in the back. To my nose it kind of smells similar to Whispers in the Library by Maison Margiela (my all time fav). LOM reminds me of walking through the forest behind the famnily cabin at 7am. Its beginning to get cold, September just ended, and October has arrived. The morning dew covers the pine trees, grass, and soil. I walk through the mushy path with a cup of vanilla tea in my hands. 8.7/10

Utterly divine. I hold this fragrance so dear to my heart! I may be blinded by nostalgia but I don’t care! One of my closest friends, whom i love so dearly, wears this & i had to buy myself some. Every time i put it on it’s like i am being enveloped in a warm hug from him. It’s as if his energy is in the bottle. It’s comforting & inviting yet lived in. It lingers like an old friend—warm, familiar, never overstaying its welcome, just quietly there when you need it. Fragrances like these that have that added connection just make them all the more beautiful. I will wear it during warm weather months albeit sparingly but find it adds superb depth to lighter scents. However, I find that it is perfect transitional fragrance from late summer to early autumn. I feel like a lil mischievous woodland fairy when I put this on. The vanilla grounds the patchouli beautifully. It’s earthy & woodsy & pairs so well with others. Such a lovely reminder of the power of fragrance & my love for it.

The more reviews I write the more I realize that the simplest scents are often the most difficult to explain, especially if they have no glaring shortcomings to complain about. Lord Of Misrule is exactly that. Vanilla and patchouli, with a touch of citrus and fresh black pepper in the opening. Smoky, earthy, textured, yet simultaneously smooth and sweet. Not a revolutionary idea by any stretch of the imagination but it's very well executed here, it effortlessly lives up to its premise and delivers precisely what you ask of it without adding unnecessary complications or stumbling over its own feet. You may find it a bit simplistic, but that's probably exactly what makes this scent work so well. It makes the argument that both vanilla and patchouli are sufficiently beautiful, complex notes in and of themselves. Either way, this is a great fragrance, especially for the asking price.

Have you ever wondered what Black Orchid (BO) by Tom Ford smelt like with a shit load of patchouli? Here you go. For the first hour or so that’s all I smell is a reminiscent trail of BO with an underlying scent of patchouli, not bad at all considering I absolutely adore BO. To enjoy this fragrance I believe you must enjoy BO and also wet patchouli, both scents are acquired imo so blind buying this would be a terrible idea. The dry down of this is absolutely phenomenal too in which the BO scent dissipates and you’re only left with a wet patchouli with an intense vanilla and subtle pepper note, which may be attributing to the BO scent. Once again, like most Lush scents this is relatively well priced and if you purchase it, it won’t break your bank account. This one, like the other Lush scents as well, is incredibly potent so be light on the sprays.

Lord of Misrule could be one of the best blends out there, irrespective of its price. Despite having mainly three notes, it reveals itself layer by layer. The black pepper is dominant and the vanilla is present, but it is the patchouli that pulls everything back and keeps it grounded. If I were to smell this blindly, I would mistake it for a superior blend from a niche or super-niche house. I get why people say it smells a lot like Chanel Coromandel; however, Coromandel dries down into a very linear vanilla with a bit of that Chanel DNA. Lord of Misrule, on the other hand, dries down into a sophisticated vanilla that is dry and earthy. I am not a vanilla person—never have been. But Lord of Misrule is a wonder, almost an anomaly in the way it performs (easily more than 12 hours on the skin), carrying you in the most elegant aura.

My first ever perfume, I love how cozy and spicy this smells. It eventually fades into a nice vanilla, but it never feels cloyingly sweet. But until then there’s such a nice spiciness to it, I feel very huggable. It does smell a little like pastries, but not to the point of smelling edible. I have a fabric watch strap that just permanently smells like cardamom buns or something now. And it does smell a little like a Christmas candle, but in a cosy way, it’s not tacky or twee. It doesn’t project much, but it’ll stick around on skin for 12 hours quite happily, and on clothes basically forever as a mild vanilla. It’s such a wonderful simple perfume, and I’m so glad it helped me realise that I can enjoy fragrances. It’s not distinguished, sophisticated, or manly. But it is warm, inviting, and a little bit mischievous.

I associate this with my friend Ash, who incidentally put me onto Lush fragrances as a whole. Her uniform consists of blouses, hand-made linen skirts that hit her ankles, mary janes, and Lord of Misrule. When she wears this, you can smell her before you can see her. LoM is pure spiced magic, and extremely comforting. The person who said it smells mischievous and friendly hit the nail on the head. It's her in a bottle. I find it to be pretty linear, which is not a complaint. Each facet of this fragrance hugs you and sticks around to the end. This can only be convincingly pulled off by witchy, whimsical girls with grit. Namby-pambies: get lost. It's called Lord of Misrule for a reason! When I first visited the Lush store last autumn, I couldn't believe this was what people were describing as "cozy", "vanillic", "gourmand" — all the things I was searching for at that time. This smelled like a stale, pungent, herbal attack on my nostrils. It was so bitter... or sour, I decided then and there I hated Lush perfumes (after smelling all the other ones, of course). But here I am, at the height of an unbearable August summer, smelling my wrist over and over again, unable to get enough of it. I didn't plan to use it yet, I was so afraid of getting sick in this heat. Patchouli used to not be my thing. Naturals used to not be my thing. This is a beautiful representation of how human taste and senses can evolve. I can't wait for the cold. 🍂🌿🍵

Lord of misrule is my favorite LUSH perfume! potentially my favourite perfume ever, so far. I actually didn't know it only had 3 notes, I'm very surprised. This perfume is very deep and feels a lot more complex. I certainly understand that these notes would be in it, however I'm surprised there isn't something along the lines of dried fruit, tonka or cherry. I find that I like perfumes like this a lot, a sort of deep coca-cola like scent. This reminds me of another one of my favours called 'tobacco intense' by Ard Al Zaafaran, though it's a bit more smoky and masculine. Anyway.. Lord of misrule is GORGEOUS! It's perfectly sweet and sexy and feels slightly unique and expensive. I love the colour as well.

I'm a gourmand hater in a toxic relationship with vanilla, so I really shouldn't like this...but I do. A lot. As others have said, Lord of Misrule is quite simple - just a spiced, warm vanilla - and yet it's so effective. It creates this cozy, warming effect like no other perfume I know, conjuring up a wealth of autumnal images: you're sat by a scented candle in a knitted jumper, watching the snow out the window...anyway. If you want to feel snug and Halloween-y, Lord of Misrule is the best one out there. Edit: The body spray I bought has SO much more of a patchouli stink than the perfume. Gives it a feisty green bite beneath the sweetness. I still love it, but patchouli haters have been warned.

Truly magical. Despite its 3 notes it’s quite complex and well blended. The patchouli in here isn’t overly earthy and has full bodied chocolate facets. The scent has a delicious elegant sweetness that isn’t overbearing. It surrounds you with an intoxicating aura. The pepper isn’t too prominent here, just a spicy hint. It lasts the entire day, perfect for the winter holidays. It’s a bit reminiscent of Angel, but more elegant and less pompous. The sillage is still strong though. Apart from the scent, I am sucker for an intriguing name. The ‘Lord of Misrule’ was a chosen mock king in ancient times, this figure was responsible for making mischief during the winter celebrations. I like that idea ;)

Striking, dirty, playful sweet patchouli. Black pepper really only adds a mild kick to it. Not some ill fitting savoriness that can often be the case with that note. Love fragrances that have beautiful contrasts of cleanliness and filth. Lord of Misrule smells both like clean skin moisturized with expensive vanilla lotion and an ashtray in desperate need of an emptying and a scrub. Warms and radiates off the skin wonderfully. I opted for the solid since I've never tried solid fragrances before and I've been loving it. I think this would also be a good candidate for layering. Especially with something leather or gasoline leaning. Thrilled with the performance so far.

I own about sixty bottles of perfume, many of them expensive niche houses ... I can smell the refinement in them.. i love wearing them... and yet this... this just knocks me of my feet every single time.. I love this...many patchoulis I have tried ( psychedelique, patchouli Magnetique) just lack the unapologetic sweetness this has... as if they think too much sugary sweetness is not artistic enough... this gives me what many expensive houses couldn’t ...is the patchouli in here top notch ? No... but I’d rather wear a mid level linear patchouli with this gorgeous vanilla sweetness on top then an awesome patchouli that keeps me wanting..

absolutely delicious. something about the way this perfume interacts with my skin makes it smell like spiced, vanilla-y chocolate, which is something i absolutely love. i have, on multiple occasions, got dressed just to wear this scent. i wasn't into sweet scents (and overall i'm still not) until i got this. it would not be an over-exaggeration to say i am obsessed with it. lasts FOR EVER, too, at least in the body spray and ESPECIALLY on my clothing. i'm locked into wearing it for the next few wears of a dress i got any of it on, even after washing. and yknow what? not mad. more delicous sweet-spicy scent for meeee

Very rarely in my long carreer as a perfumista did I meet a perfume this addictive. I haven't worn anything else since I added it to my collection, which is about a month ago, and I can asure you, this is unprecedented. I swear I can smell a good slug of ethyl maltol (i.e. candyfloss or caramel) in it, and although it is not among my favourite scents, in the case of LOM I am here for it, as it is so nicely balanced with the fizzy pepper and the earthy patch. This is one of those perfumes that does not only have a scent but also a very distinctive texture. Perfect, warming, comforting autumn-winter companion.

I didn't consider myself a fan of patchouli before this and frankly only bought this wax perfume because the sales assistant was both hot and really good at their job. The second I applied this to my wrists I was hit with an intense sense memory of the best shower I ever had, which happened on day 3 of a camping trip during a heatwave. I skipped dinner so I could get in the shower queue and finally wash off the sweat and grime, and when I emerged I felt like a completely ethereal being. To me this smells like campfire smoke and broken grass underfoot and sticky summer evenings. And vanilla. I love it.

This is an absolute LOVE for me. On my skin, the vanilla really pulls through. The patchouli takes a bit of a back seat after the initial spray and the pepper dances throughout the entire experience. Lush fragrances are not for the faint of heart. They are meant to be journey. An experience, if you will. They're strong, generally long lasting & all have a story. Lord of Misrule is complex in it's simplicity of it's 3 ingredients. Anyone who knows even the slightest about the fragrance world should take heed - Lush fragrances, especially Lord of Misrule, are in a category all of their own.

Honestly, when I first read the reviews before trying this perfume, I was not convinced. How the hell is a perfume - from LUSH no less - supposed to smell this good? I thought I hated patchouli. Lord of Misrule proved me wrong. It's warm, spicy, and witchy. It's not challenging per se, but the appeal does grow on you after a little bit of time. I was humbled. Lush, you proved me wrong. I was a judgmental ass. This is a fantastic perfume and it has demonstrated to me that not everything has to be sweet or floral or expensive to smell nice. I feel like a goth badass wearing this fragrance.

Witchy, mysterious, foresty. If you like patchouli oil in diffusers/candles, you'll definitely like. I will say, I'm struggling between liking the smell and deciding if I want to smell like this. Edit---I did decide that I wanted to smell like this. I first bought it in solid form and then in liquid. I like the solid form more because it's more green. The liquid has a super super sweet vanilla dry down that's sometimes overpowering. It really wish the patchouli stayed equally strong throughout. The vanilla scent reminds me somewhat of By the Fireplace's dry down.

Spicy and warm..cozy and earthy. I‘d say its unisex but I also feel like it represents this effortless cool downtown autumn girl. It’s not too sweet, but it gives a certain “burnt sugar” smell. It also gives me some vintage/grandma vibe but in the best way possible. As patchouli usually does; this perfume grounds me. It’s comforting but not boring. Patchouli stays all the way but I feel like the vanilla dominates in the drydown. Its a strong perfume and it stays the whole day, be careful how much you apply. Best to layer with Lush LoM Bodybar..

Delicious patchouli vanilla bomb. The black pepper makes this scent SO sexy. I am ADDICTED. It feels like a cozy rainy afternoon, a wool sweater and a cup of creamy homemade chai. I am so unbelievably excited to wear this when colder weather starts. The overall fragrance is very opulent and attractive to me. I want to layer it this winter with glossier you doux to give it a woodier more incense like profile. If you like any of the above described things, and you can tolerate patchouli and heavier scents, this is for you.

My absolute go to fragrance, I love it so much. It becomes almost smoky smelling on my skin and it is just the perfect every day go to, especially in Autumn. Longevity is wonderful, it lasts all day but it does REALLY stick to clothes so if you want to wear a shirt two days in a row you kind of have to accept you will still smell like Lord Of Misrule. Probably the best Lush perfume there is. Campfires, old books, coffee shops, vintage stores, orange leaves, big scarves and coats, autumn walks with someone you love

Sweet and comforting just like its namesake bath bomb. LM is the scent that wafts through the air when you are a block away from a LUSH store but before you can see it. Love smelling this on my fiancée as the patchouli/vanilla combo is so smooth and cosy. Definitely LUSH's most successful bath product turned fragrance output as I usually find their perfumes have a heavy dirt note that just reads as compost bin to my nose. Smells exactly like the bath bomb and shower gel so fans of those will not be disappointed.

To me, Lord of Misrule paid homage to the often misunderstood ingredient: patchouli. It didn't try to hide the patchouli at all. Patchouli is the star of this grand show. It gets just a little tiring sometimes when modern perfumery often try to build around the note of patchouli. It gets so decorated to the point that you don't see its beauty in its pure rawness. Lord of Misrule lets you see its bare earthy form with only nuances. This is the smell of the most quaint organic store.

My all time favourite scent. I have the solid perfume and I carry it everywhere, just to smell. It smells mischievous and friendly, and it also makes me feel sort of sexy and androgynous. I make a point to wear it to see what I consider 'art', so to the theatre, galleries, arthouse movies, but it's my go-to scent for everything. Everyone I've met and forced to smell it has loved it. I get a lot of warm vanilla from it, then patchouli, then a distinct cracked pepper note.

a lovely warm and spicy blend. woodsy and musky at first before settling into a sweet and creamy vanilla. i’m not usually too big on sweet perfumes but the pepper rounds it out enough to avoid it being too cloying. the employees at the store described it as smelling like a renaissance faire and i think that’s incredibly accurate: surrounded by woods and spices, with fried dough being cooked around the corner. i especially like layering this one with some frankincense.

love this scent so much. I've been using it as my signature scent for years now. It's quite patchouli heavy at first blush (not off putting to me because I love patchouli but I get it), but once it's had time to settle the black pepper comes out in such an enticing way, I've never been able to find anything else quite like it. if it works on you it's really something special. It makes me feel like a sexy dragon or something

I have such an affinity for warm spicy wintery fragrances. I first got the solid perfume of this for sooo cheap due to a sale and absolutely loved it. Initially it smells so medicinal it made me nervous, however on skin it warms up so nicely to give the spicey patchouli smell I love. I was wearing it in Dunedin, New Zealand which is a lovely cold and charming city which paired perfectly with this fragrance.

My favourite scent of all time; even got my sister addicted to it. Delicious addictive spicy pepper with a hint of sweet vanilla. It has the perfect sharpness that makes it feel so woodsy and cozy. After a while, it definitely smells a bit more vanilla-like, but the patchouli keeps it from being too sweet for me, as I don't love straight vanilla scents. I wear this all year round cause I like it that much.

I don't like patchouli, but this is different from patchouli. For example, Karma Lush is a heavy patchouli, a strong dusty old-time scent, but this is warm and sweet with a bit of sharpness, very nice and wearable. It strongly reminds me of liquor, something that good girls would drink, girls who always know how to do the right thing. I bet anis sweet is there somewhere but it's not listed here.

I've had this for a few months now and it's just crazy, the vanilla just got sweeter and it blends so well with the pepper it is crazy. I hate patchouli and I hate black pepper, but this is absolute perfection, vanilla is so fine and dense, such an incredible and unique scent with only three main ingredients. It's creamy, sweet, spicy, warm, but so wearable and understated. So, so memorable.

The perfect ratio of dirty to sweet. This might be my patchouli awakening (i normally detest patchouli). I can’t get enough. I’ve been searching for something to dirty up Incarnate when i wear it and I think this is the perfect scent to do so. I feel like the possibilities are endless with using this as a base also. Definitely unisex and definitely will be a staple in my collection.

I'm not a vanilla fan, yet this is still really appealing and I wear it all the time. The vanilla isn't overpowering or overly syrupy. There's a great balance between sweet and spicy, smells yummy without smelling too much like food? I love how it changes over the day too, when the vanilla fades the pepper & patchouli take on a kind of smoky quality as they start popping out more.

i love it on its own, but i use the solid as a fantastic layering scent for when i want a vanilla day but with a little bit of a bite. even though there's no smoke listed, it blends well with my other perfumes and adds a smoky weight to it; maybe it's just my skin with the patchouli? i personally do not get much of the pepper, but that might be the spray vs solid difference.

this might sound a bit strange, but i tried layering the solid version of this with kayali’s pistachio perfume a couple of times last winter and it worked REALLY well, so if you have both, i recommend trying that! also, this perfume (on its own) literally lasts through days and nights and showers on me, so i really recommend it if you’re looking for something longlasting.

I was looking around online for spicy gourmand perfumes, and someone recommended me Lord of Misule, pulling me in by saying it smelled like a cake in an old church, so I immediately bought it. At first, to me it smelled like dr pepper and even my boyfriend thought so, and i was disappointed. After some time i smell the notes perfectly and it's now my new favorite!

This is the only gourmand I have ever liked! I bought the shower gel out of curiosity and my initial reaction was that it is definitely not for me as I don't do well with sweet scents. But then I couldn't stop smelling my skin after every wash and decided to buy the perfume version. Definitely a scent for colder weather. So unique but can't put my finger on why.

Yum! Love at first sniff. I get the patchouli and vanilla right away. I agree with the person before me who said unusual evolution. Must be how the pepper favors in. Just tried out the solid in store and decided to get it. Can’t speak to wear, and I doubt it will project, but in the cold winter air this definitely smells like a forest. I am getting mossy earth.

Usually, i hate vanilla base notes, but here i wasn't aware of it until this very second. Sweet sweet lord of misrule, I have it as solid perfume and as a 50ml bottle, as it's my go-to for the darker part of the year. I totally can see how it can be too sweet for someone, but i love radiating this glühwein-like mixture and also don't really get tired of it.

A strong LIKE! Just purchased my second bottle. Autumnal, affordable, beast mode longevity & scent projection + in the scent trail it smells like vanillic honey with cognac. this is my ultimate favorite fall/halloween scent, the pepper and patchouli is SO punchy and thick, almost like cola syrup or root beer. you have to love patchouli to go to where this perfume takes you but if you can handle it you are in for a treat in visions of dead trees and orange leaves stuck to the street with rainwater.

As a review for the body spray: The perfume is redundant, unless you want a denser version of it (≠much longer lasting) for about three times the cost in terms of price value ratio. Plus, it doesn’t stain, unlike the perfume. For anybody who doesn’t know what this smells like, get your damn nose on it. You’ll never look back!

Fun, spicy, and not overly complicated. Lord of Misrule knows exactly what it is and what it has to offer. It’s a bold scent with great longevity, but it doesn’t spray on too strong. The level of silage is very consistent throughout an 8-12 hour wear, which is rare. It’s also a truly gender neutral fragrance.

Ive discovered I love patchouli. I have a scented candle called ”Sublime Pachouili” It sais ”Rich pachouli, with sweet hints of fig and orchid. A lighthearted stroll through a forest in the spring” Everytime i get a whiff of it i wish i had a perfume like that. This feels like a nightwalk in that forest.

im obsessed with this. it makes me feel rly mysterious..... honestly my only complaint is that it theres sometimes a faint mildew-y smell??? its the same with the body wash. super weird. but its not mildew-y on the body... idk maybe its just me. btw pairing this with the body wash is incredible
