Rose Jam 2012

This has been my signature scent since i discovered it some 6 years ago. As another review here hinted at - Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette would wear this in her later more extravagant era - my exact reference. The ultimate decadent sugary, fruity but also rich and musky scent with the most surprising sparkling citrus notes peaking through. I’ve had THE most compliments wearing this out of any perfumes in my life so far. I’ve gotten - spicy honey, turkish delight, cinnamon, s*x, strawberries, rose petals... to me it’s all of these notes and more. It’s so luscious that two spritzes give you the ultimate sillage but it’s so morish that you want to keep spritzing yourself anyways. My coats smell of it for weeks in winter, it even cuts through the scent of smokey bars and clubs, people are stopped in their tracks when i spray it when out & about. It’s a rare gem and more than fair at price for what you get, it should definitely be considered niche.<3

I adore this fragrance. It was actually the very first perfume I bought for myself. I first smelled it on a friend, and kept saying "what smells like cinnamon rolls?" until we figured out it was her perfume. When I smell this, it always reminds me of some kind of very sweet baked good. Even though there isn't cinnamon in it, I definitely smell something sweet and spicy which is probably the coumarin in the tonka bean. This is incredibly long lasting and pretty strong. It's happy, bright, ultra-sweet, and beautiful. Unfortunately I no longer wear it every day because it's a bit too strong and sweet for work in my opinion, but it's a lovely going out fragrance. My only complaint is that it leaves an orange stain on skin and clothes, so beware of that! Overall though, this is probably my favorite scent of all time.

Rose lovers know a lot of rose perfumes can just be utterly horrible... powdery, grandma, synthetic smells. This perfume is a true jammy rose but with an earthy spicy twist. It has that scent that lush does well, like a health food store that smells like fresh produce and incense. It is certainly powerful so beware, I use this perfume very sparingly. It is warm, spicy, herbal and floral. It is the only lush perfume I have ever loved as I don’t usually love earthy type scents. But this will be a repurchase for me as long as it’s around. On me I smell mostly sweet fresh roses, warm spices like cinnamon, a touch of freshness like fresh cut lemon leaves. I love it and don’t care if anyone around me hates it.

I adore this perfume! I’ve been hunting for my perfect rose perfume for so long and I think I’ve found it :) I often find rose perfumes too sweet but this one smells a bit earthier or more natural. You can detect the more subtle notes of lemon and tonka bean but this perfume is overwhelmingly rose. When the reviews say this perfume fills a room it’s no joke and no exaggeration - it’s STRONG. I would spray this on myself in the locker room upon arriving to work and would still be able to smell it in the air by the time of my break! This was my first Lush perfume and I was pleasantly surprised by it’s longevity - I will say I’ve found Lush perfumes in general to have good staying power.

I haven't been able to find the perfume version of this, but I use the rose jam body wash (they sell it in stores during the holidays, so don't be fooled by the over priced ebay ones touting it as "discontinued" -it's not. It's just seasonal). It is probably my favorite rose scent. This really smells like fresh jam made from rose petals. The body wash lists goji berry juice and I think that it what really makes this special. It makes it just sweet enough to make me want to eat it and keeps it from being your grandma's powdery rose scented soap. If you're looking for a true rose scent, you're going to want to check this out.

imagine those rose petals that you get crystallised in sugar, think about crushing them in a pestle and mortar whilst adding hot lemon syrup and mixing them together. This perfume smells like baked goods, like the middle of a jam donut when you first get to the centre. it is delicious and jammy and for sure a head turner! it is quite heavy, so has powerful sillage but then again its made from essential oils and not alcohol based so its really high quality in the lush store there are a few other items with the same luxurious scent so layering is an option too

jmillm below nailed it. I don't have much to add. I don't understand how somehow could dislike this one on a woman (sorry, to me this is an overly feminine scent). It's (very) sweet rose jam on a tart lemony background at an affordable price. What not to love. My hair will smell like Rose Jam until next shampoo. It is long lasting.

OMG! Personally, I smell the kisses of my Baby Strawberry Shortcake doll. The one that when you pressed the tummy, the dolly blew "strawberry" kisses. I realize now that they smelled like jammy roses. Such a flashback! It's very girly scent; love it!!!!

It is the fullest and girliest rose you can get...I love it but I love layering it with something else to tone down the girliness. I mix it with Comme des garcon amazingreen or with serge lutens amber sultan great soliflore but prefered mixed.

Really beautiful scent, at first the initial spray smells a bit earthy like freshly cut grass and Roses, but then it develops into a beautiful warm rose scent that lasts lightly all day. Perfect for summer.

Several of my favourite smells collide in Rose Jam: homemade brandy and black grape jam, lemon zest, crushed geranium leaves and Turkish roses. I am completely addicted to this stuff. Rarely am I inspired to wear the same fragrance twice within the space of a week. Rose Jam shatters that ritual! The jammy sweetness of the rose is breathtaking; look carefully under this moorish theme and you will find zesty lemon peppered with geranium petals content to take the backseat during the exhilarating ride. I have had the perfume for some time now, I recently acquired a huge bottle of the shower gel which layers beautifully with the perfume and other fruity-florals.

Rose Jam is a sugared, jammy rose with hints of sparkling citrus. This is an ultra feminine, ladylike fragrance. I can detect some vintage rose elements, but it’s sweet enough to feel distinctly youthful and coquettish. I imagine Marie Antoinette à la Sofia Coppola frolicking on a chaise longue in pastel satins nibbling on lemon bon bons and sugared rose petals.

this is really sweet and kinda and reminds me of hs (Mario Badescu rosewater spray) i didnt rlly get the jam until i looked at the notes it smells more like rose and pear to me although it gets pretty cloying twrds the end of the day i feel like lush products r usually stronger than they need 2 b though

Aptly named. Very girly. Enjoyable. Longevity and silage are moderately low.

This is for the EDP. It's a really beautiful fragrance, though it unfortunately dries down to an ammonia/pee smell on me after a few hours :( Genuinely wish it was a better match with my body chemistry. I've smelled it on friends and it maintains the notes I enjoy when I initially spray it on my skin, so I'd definitely suggest trying this out rather than blind-buying. I will note that for the price, the quality of the packaging and bottle is really disappointing compared to other perfumes. It's definitely a stronger smell, I think it is one folks should be mindful of before applying. I don't think I would head straight into an Uber or public transit immediately after applying this out of consideration for those who have scent sensitivities. It does fade into a beautiful trail after half an hour or so. If you were drawn to this perfume via the body wash like I was, it is not quite the same smell at the start, though it does fade out to it. It is very heavy on the rose at the start but the soft lemon notes add a nice brightness to it that move it away from 'grandma' overwhelming floral notes and creates a rounded, almost bakery-type smell. Vaguely reminiscent of a pastry shop, but not quite in the realm of baked goods. Just a nice, nuanced scent that shifts and lingers.

Way too sweet for me. A little "old lady" like. Pleasant at first but I think that I would get a headache If I wore it. I would maybe buy the lotion or shower gel in this scent but as a fragrance it's just way too much. Overly sweet rose is all I have to say. Smells like a rose jam that someone sweetened 10 times more than the recipe called for.

I DO like it, but... wow. It's kind of a lot. I feel like it's so friendly and extroverted that I can't wear it as a person who doesn't want to start a loud conversation with a stranger in the middle of the street while wearing only a bright orange apron covered in paint and some Thai elephant pants.

This is one of the best rose fragrances i've ever worn. Very fresh & sweet, a good mix. One spray is enough to last most of the day. This is the same scent as Lush's 'Rose Jam Bubbleroon' bubble bath. It's sad this was only limited edition.

I loved this at the store. It truly smelled like fresh cut roses/strawberry jam with insane projection and the promise of great longevity. What’s not to love?? I bought a bottle and wore my new delicious perfume around the house. The unsuspecting husband turned up his nose and said, “uUm..... What’s that smell??” “Is it a good smell??” His face clearly said no. Actually he looked more distraught that anything. Cut to a few days later at work as I’m showing my fellow perfume-loving coworker my new treasure. He took one whiff and then he too appeared confused, and almost alarmed that his nostrils had somehow been violated. Cut to yet a few more days later. I’m visiting my hairstylist, and she can’t figure out for the life of her just what IS that weird smell?? Again, it was me carrying the offensive scent. I held up my arm to her nose and she almost gagged. And this is a woman who cherishes strong, oddball niche perfumes. Where did this go so wrong?? I don’t know, but it did go wrong. I ended up returning it. :( I bought the bottle from my local Lush store, so it’s wasn’t likely to have turned or anything like that. For reference and comparison purposes if it helps anyone, my skin turns everything to vanilla, florals tend to smell like old lady perfume, and most scents disappear in just a couple of hours. If your skin tends to behave the same then definitely don’t blind buy this unless you want to confuse and offend.
