Shade

The package smells like pencil shavings, bur once it's on the skin it reminds me of dove soap with incense. It's not the most "wow" scent ever, but I was looking for a perfume like shade, a calm, meditative scent that feels warm but not overly cloying.

The change in packaging is the biggest cancer ever so maybe getting the spray is the next best move! My signature one of these travel Lush perfume’s, super clean... smells almost like dove soap with sandalwood shavings. Love it!!!!!!!!!!

This is like if someone removed the harsh bits of Off Deep Woods bug spray and left the good bits of that smell. I mean that as an absolute compliment. Perhaps it is just triggering childhood nostalgia of camping, but I love it.

it is so milky to me . like warm thick milk in a woody bowl or something. very pleasant and cozy makes me feel safe and soft

Oy, this one is not for me. It has that same white floral/cloyingly sweet, slightly dirty scent that I got from Smell of Freedom and I think maybe Orange Blossom if my memory serves. Objectively I can see this is a pretty scent, but not for me. Each time I've sniffed it I've immediately started to feel a little sick to my stomach and tightness in my temples.

The solid version of Shade resembles the dry down of the liquid perfume. Quite a difference between the two, as the liquid has more spicy, woody notes in the opening. The solid just smells like a toned down version of supermilk.

I dreamed I was standing in a quiet shaded pocket of the world, the kind of place where the heat can’t quite reach you. The air smelled exactly like Shade on my skin: clean, faintly creamy sandalwood with just a thread of incense drifting through the cool. In the dream, the solid perfume melted instantly in the humid 38°C heat, turning soft and silky under my fingertips. The scent stayed close, like the shadow I was standing in, gentle and unobtrusive but somehow grounding. When I woke, the shade was gone but that calm, creamy hush of sandalwood still felt like it was lingering around me.

Very pretty. It's nothing much in the tube, but on skin it becomes a nice second skin scent which smells like high quality sandalwood body cream over skin that was washed with Dove soap. It's simply an extremely nice fragrance, especially for the price. Byredo Bal d Afrique could never.
