Sultana of Soap

This is my favorite scent family from Lush, and Sultana of Soap was one of my very first purchases. When they released the perfume as a limited edition, I grabbed multiple bottles, knowing that it might be years before Lush brought the scent back in perfume form again. I think that for people who are familiar with Lush, the perfume will be everything expected. It's Sultana, Blackberry, whatever name you know. It comes off sharp at the beginning due to the alcohol in the perfume, but dries down into that fruity, creamy, soapy scent that we all know and love. Lushies looking for Sultana in a perfume will be very happy. It lets me wear my favorite scent without having to take a shower or run a bath. For people unfamiliar with Lush, this opens with a clean, bright sharpness of bergamot, and as it dries down, the olibanum really comes through. The sultana helps settle down the bergamot, and the soapiness comes out. It's clean and fresh, with a creamy touch that lingers. I get about 5-6 hours of wear time. While it's something that I enjoy, it's not for everyone. The sharp opening in particular would likely be off-putting for fragrance lovers, as Lush isn't particularly known for well-balanced perfumes, especially when they adapt their bath fragrances into perfume. They tend to be very alcohol heavy in the openings, and this is no different.

I'm so glad I managed to snatch a half bottle of this limited edition gem! Wish it was permanent in their collection! It smells just like the soap - Sultana of Soap from Lush. And that soap is the best smelling, the most addicting beautiful yet indescribable scent. It is amazing. I never picked up any sceplcific note in it, except that it smells creamy, clean and reminds of sultana raisins. But the notes listed here kind of make sense, although I think the list is not complete. On initial spray it is a bit overwhelming, probably because I'm used to the soap formula of this :D performance is great, although not incredible/beastly, but I guess it's for the better, as this is meant to be a more subtle scent yet something you can carry throughout the day

OK people I may kick myself for sharing this bc I don’t want you to buy it all but there’s a company named Bloom and Barrel that makes a sultana of soap fragrance and it’s spot on. When I say I’m OBSESSED with this scent I mean in an “I found out this was available in a shower gel at LUSH UK but they don’t ship to the US so I posted to one of my fragrance groups on Facebook asking if anyone in the UK could help and paid to have bottles shipped to me” kinda way 🫣. 💯 worth it and lucky someone was nice enough to help 😍

This is a lovely perfume that smells just like the soap, but takes a short time to get there. Initially it's not at all sweet, and is more floral (bluebells, lily of the valley). Within half an hour it has sweetened right up and is identical to the soap. Fans of Lush's sweeter fragrances (Snow Fairy, Roller) should like this.

A beautiful clean soapy but super cozy fragrance its beautiful and rwmonds me of spring or a hot summers day the projection his huge and lasts a very long time on skin and clothing a signature worthy scent that I hope that they bring in there permanent line one day as it’s so unique and beautiful

I love this scent a lot, especially after one or two hours, it sits well on my skin and on my clothes and i cant stop sniffing my wrist ! However after 3 hours i noticed that i can barely smell it anymore /// I’ve only tried it by itself so far but i should try layering it with something more earthy/herby. It reminds me of a previous lush bar conditioner that i really used to love, i had it as a sample many years (it was white/cream colored) and i never got the name but i never forgot it. Overall it smells like CLEAN SOAP and berry candies.

Il bergamotto si sente subito ed è inebriante, appena spruzzato è quasi frizzante, fresco, pulito, peccato che sulla pelle e sui vestiti resta solo il profumo caldo dell' incenso. Purtroppo la persistenza è molto debole, appena spruzzato sembra forte, invadente, ma dopo una o due ore, anche quel dolce incenso va via dalla mia pelle.

A sweet ambery fruity perfume, like a hard sugar coated sour apple. It's ok for a toilet spray...but nothing interesting as a perfume.

This is a wonderful soap, and I’m sad I never got to purchase the perfume version. That said, layering Ebony Wood from Zara’s Jo Malone collection, which has an unstated red fruit note, with Glossier You can make a surprisingly close approximation, just a bit less sweet and creamy.

legitimately kill myselfffff this is my favorite soap ever. It just smells divine. I hoped I could have it in perfume form for years. to find out it was a limited release and impossible to find anywhere is like a punch in the guts
