Tramp

I went through bottles of this shower gel in the late 90s/early 00s, and I was thrilled when I heard that the Lush Kitchen had this in an EDP form. It smells just like I remember: so gorgeous, deep, dark, and green -- another time, another place. I'm so happy to make new memories with this beautiful fragrance. One thing: I'm pretty sure, based on my memory of the product description of the shower gel, that horehound was one of the notes. I had a long-ago ex-boyfriend who liked the smell of the shower gel because of the horehound.

So. It's nice. Very strong and unisex as expected. Unfortunately, it's missing two VERY key ingredients from the discontinued shower gel it's named for. It's missing the melissa/lemon balm and the white horehound. The lemon balm gave the gel a refreshing edge, while the horehound grounded it with this pleasantly dirty, musky, almost skunky foundation. It smelled exactly as Lush used to describe it, a literal tramp through the woods. Just smelling the bottle of the shower gel was unpleasant, but in the warmth of the shower it would develop into EXACTLY what it smells like to walk through a damp, woodland path in the PNW. It was divine and I miss it terribly. I may just have to buy some essential oils to complete this scent.

I bought this as a blind buy from the Lush Kitchen recently as a birthday gift to myself. When I first spray this on my skin it smells kind of like whisky, and as it dries down it becomes a flat, warm, woody scent - very masculine and comforting almost. I don't reach for it everyday but I like it!!

I love patchouli but this one just wore so masculine on me that it made me nauseous, maybe the oakmoss just overpowered the patchouli on me. I remember being so happy to destash the perfume and shower gel. I imagine this would be good for camping though... I love to wear heavy patchouli as a bug repellent.

This is a difficult scent. To me the patchouli is barely noticeable if at all. It’s completely overwhelming oak moss. I will be returning.

First being a Lushie before a full fledged frag-head 10 years later; it's led me to realize how blatantly similar this is to Ralph Lauren's Polo Green for men. Tramp of course being more a simplistic set of notes (borderline too simple) where as Polo artistically adds the pine at the top, the tobacco, leather, ect. but they are pretty much the same vibe- earthy wet soil. You can tell Tramp was inspired by it. That doesn't mean Tramp is dull though- there is something so photorealistic about it that its striking. Tramp is one of my most favorite LUSH scents to date as LUSH seems to leave masculine based scents on the sidelines and cater to little girls / women who never want to grow up. One more snow fairy scented product and I'm gonna slit my wrists. They are getting better (Dear John, the dirty range, smugglers soul ect)- but for the most part they are still up to their childish ways it seems. I'll never forget wearing Tramp to my college bookstore job in downtown Milwaukee and this old man that worked there loudly stated "SOMEONE SMELLS LIKE PATCHOULIII." I'll never forget it lol. He was like in his 70's so if anyone knows patchouli I guess its that generation. It was just such a cute moment. I've elevated my scent rotation to more complex scents designer & niche colognes- and sold off all my collectible girly childish forum fragrances but the Tramp scent line will always get my respect! 10/10

Checking out the natural aromatic compounds I expected mother nature herself... Tramp is one of the few that was really, really unpleasant for me at first smell and reminded me of cheeses. Or like patchouli plus some floral elements mixed that really don't match. But hey, it's called Tramp for a reason. Really challanging, really hard to like. It belongs to the group of patchouli perfumes that dry down to pure patchouli.

A patchouli megabomb backed up with oak moss. An ultra hippyish scent with the kind of longevity that lasts for centuries. Not at all challenging to patchouli lovers,but the initial smell is quite overpoweringly strong and needs plenty of time to settle into something young, fun and bohemian.
