Twilight Body Spray

I first discovered this scent when my friend got me LUSH's Sleepy body lotion, and I was in love with the scent. I never wear body lotion since I live in a humid climate but I would use it as a hand lotion just to smell it. I didn't know Twilight is basically the body spray/perfume version of the scent (why wouldn't they name it the same thing??) until I tried my luck and went to the LUSH store to ask. It was everything I dreamed of, smells exactly like the body lotion, and came in a huge 200ml bottle. I sprayed it everywhere -- on my bedsheets, my pillows, my curtains, myself. I was never a lavender person, but there is a sweetness to this that just smells heavenly. Doesn't smell like toilet-air-freshener-lavender at all, or any kind of cheap lavender. It smells delicious but not in an edible gourmand way, sweet but not in a cloying way. It's a perfect bedtime scent. I sprayed it on a letter that I mailed to my friend, and she could still smell it on the paper when she received it. I personally think it's a safe blind buy and an inoffensive crowd-pleaser (even if you dislike lavender). But test it in store anyway just to be sure. I find that the scent doesn't change or develop over time, so what you smell within the first 10 minutes is what it will smell like at the end of the day. I loved it for months after I got it. Unfortunately, I think it started to go bad, because there was a sour smell that I detected every time I sprayed this on my fabrics. (I hardly sprayed it on my skin, something about the scent made me want to spray it more on fabrics and clothes instead. I think it lasts pretty long on fabrics too.) I thought it was something else, and I tried not spraying it, thinking that maybe my curtains needed washing or there was something else that smelt off. But no, I only smelt it when I sprayed this body spray!! I really wish this came in a smaller size, maybe 100ml, or even a 30ml EDT/EDP! 200ml seems overkill if it's going to go bad so quickly. I'm not sure what went wrong -- maybe I had an old batch, or it reacted weirdly with my fabrics, but I had to give it away after less than 10 months. I went back to the LUSH store recently and sprayed it on a tester, and I still love the scent with all my heart. I would repurchase it again if it came in a smaller size, or maybe in a couple years when my yearning for it becomes stronger and the feeling of betrayal from it turning sour eases. I know the packaging of LUSH body sprays is quite iconic, but it's a bit hard to spray oneself with this kind of shape. The mist is not very fine, and some droplets are so big that it always leaves a bit of a water mark (which eventually evaporates, but still). Being slightly nitpicky here, but just some considerations for LUSH!!

I friggin love this! I bought this a couple months ago for a bedtime spray, but it's so good, I've started using it as an all day / every day spray. I'm now obsessed. I stan this. If it put out a merch line, I'd buy it. Twilight is a Lavender-forward scent with notes of Tonka and Benzoin to round it out. This scent smells different depending on where I spray it, and I believe temperature greatly effects this scent. On skin (warm), the Lavender quickly settles down (until almost gone) and it becomes more of a warm, cinnamon-y scent, like a warm Lavender Snickerdoodle. On sheets (cool), the scent stays very similar to what you smell from the bottle, where the Lavender stays in focus and the scent is overall more bright and fresh. On clothes (med), the scent stays somewhere in the middle, with the Lavender, Tonka, and Benzoin being equally present. I personally love all versions, and at night, I spray this on myself and my sheets/pillows for a dual effect. The warm lavender+vanilla+cinnamon on my skin is so cozy, and the random wafts of the bright, fresh Lavender from my sheets is divine. Longevity and sillage are great, considering it's a body spray. Of course I'd want it to be more bc I love it, but this outperforms some of my expensive "real" perfumes (new Chanel, Hermès.. I'm looking at you). If this were an EDP/EDT, it'd have mod sillage and mod to long-lasting longevity. Overall, I love this little chameleon. It's simple, yet delicious, and it works in any climate. The bottle is cute, the scent performs well, and it's a great deal (200ml for under $40!). The only thing I'll say is that LUSH products are prone to inconsistencies bc everything is made by hand / in small batches. Normally, this isn't a problem, but with perfume ppl, we KNOW when our faves are different. With LUSH fragrances, your bottle might smell different than one from another store, city, state, etc. It might even be different from one at the same store, but made at a different date and/or by a different person. So take our reviews with an extra grain of salt (aside from the normal ones of personal pref and skin chemistry). If you really like something, keep in mind the maker and the date made. And always try to test things out beforehand.

Wow... just wow! I LOVE... ADORE this! This is a veryy ambery (almost creamy) and sweet lavender scent, but the lavender is definitely there and is strong. As with most Lush body sprays, this lasts forever. I spray this every night before sleep and I wake up to an almost dusty/lighter version of it, lingering in my sheets and my entire room. Very powerful but not headache inducing. Only weird thing I noticed was when I took this with me on a 16 hour flight, the composition and smell changed, and when I sprayed it on me the night after my flight I noticed it’s smell had changed, to an almost fecal-lavender (maybe fermented? Idk...) smell... I was very disgusted and was so curious and sad why it had turned this way :( but I later got kinda numb to the smell (lol) but it still doesn’t smell the way it did before my flight. So I guess be careful taking this to a higher altitude? But over all 10s across the boards! Longevity 10/10 Sillage 8/10 (only reason I haven’t given it a 10 on sillage is because no one has given me a compliment on it lol) Price 10/10 (~$40, the price is amazing for something that smells kinda luxurious)

I am in love. What can I say? I vividly remember going to a Lush store 4 years back and going thru every single bodymist, and making a disgusted face with every one of them except when I smelled Let The Good Times Roll. I remember everything smelling herbal and incense-y. Now, a good while back I bought the smaller tub of Sleepy body lotion and oh god I wanted to eat it. Drink it. Bathe in it. When I read reviews that Twilight would be the closest scent to it, I blind bought it immediately. And it is close to it, but the soapy lavender is amped up 100% and bit less of an edible gourmand. The ylang ylang makes it sweet and lactonic, but it can also be a note that turns sour or spoiled on other peoples body chemistry. Then the tonka bean comes thru, like a warm vanilla base, and its just like.. its a warm, sweet lavender vanilla hug that wraps around you. I like to layer this with Jean Paul Gaultier - Le Male edt because both are lavender & vanilla & tonka bean perfumes and they just compliment eachother sooooo well. My clothes smell incredible the next morning. Good bye other perfumes, see you never <3

wow, i’m in love. i was a little worried about this purchase—lavender isn’t a favorite, but i wanted something soothing to spray myself and my pillows with at bedtime—but it’s swiftly turned into an everyday staple. a couple weeks ago i added some powdered lavender to a vanilla buttercream frosting, and this is exactly what it was like. lavender marshmallow, edible lavender. absolutely scrumptious, and not what i was expecting. i dab a little bit of tonka bean absolute on top to really bring out the creamy candy aspect of the aroma. when used with a little bit of the lotion, the smell lasts all night and i wake up still smelling fresh and delicious. i was also surprised to find that my family could smell me whenever i was 6-10ft away, so the sillage is impressive for a body spray. i’ve worn many perfumes around—both high end and cheapies of generally high regard—but this is the only one i’ve received comments on from strangers. i was asked if this was Pink Sugar, and although it’s a far cry from Aquolina’s fruity licorice accords, i can see the similarity in sweetness.

Perhaps one of my favorite scents of all time. Its so hard to overstate my love for it, it feels like when I wear it I simply cant bear to exhale because I just want to keep smelling it in. Its a gorgeous fluffy lavender cloud with sparkles of amber strewn throughout it. If you're like me and don't care for the dry and punchy, overdone lavender facet, I implore you to try this. A complete remedy for the soul, it feels like basking in the twilight of a candied lavender field with a milky cup of tea. It reminds me of perfect weather, skin, cozy sheets, the combo of pastel purple and rich marmalade yellow-orange. As someone who is averse to gourmands and lavender normally, this perfume strikes such a sweet spot. Its comfortingly sweet, enough to quell the lavender to a lovely dream of the dainty purple plant which pairs so beautifully with the tonka and vanilla, which give it a fuzzy warm tinge. TLDR: a gleeful memory of lavender and warm milky tea. amber shards on skin, warm sheets, and a field of crystalized purple stalks.

Oh my gosh this is glorious. It's the most lovely sweet, soft, slightly herbal, creamy lavender and tonka blend. On my skin the lavender is the star with the tonka and benzoin lending a creamy softness and sweet touch, and then as it dries down more the tonka catches up and gives it a glorious caramel vanilla creamy and dreamy sweetness and depth. Sniffing the juice inside the bottle is addictive - the tonka is so intense and rich. I am wearing it to bed most nights and it's building a fantastic sleep association for me, it's so calming and relaxing. Longevity isn't great on my lotioned skin and it doesn't last much more than an hour or so but I'm going to sleep anyway so it doesn't bother me. It lingers on my dressing gown for days so I expect it has better longevity on clothing. Price is expensive for a body spray but its really more like a perfume, I only use a couple of sprays on my chest after showering. I do love it and will definitely purchase again once I finish it.

Still the best lavender body/pillow/room spray ever made. Since I first discovered it years ago, I can't live without a bottle of this. I've made it my signature scent as I can never get sick of this. I've honestly actually grown to like the bottles too. I spray this when I don't feel like wearing perfume, to bed, as a room spray. Sprayed on my fave sweater lounging around at home to relax. All seasons but so cozy at night and during winter weather. Sometimes there's an initial, alcoholic herbal blast at first. Don't judge it yet! It then settles into the most delicious lavender, tonka, candy-sweet creamy dream with a touch of forest herbs to keep it from going completely into foodie territory. It's the only scent that makes me feel so relaxed and less anxious. Lush was kind enough to send me a full size pot of their Sleepy body lotion, which also smells like a dream, but without the herbal blast some people dislike. I love the shower gel, soap, and entire range... 💜🧁🌿

This has been my signature scent along with the Sleepy body wash for the last four years! They recently rebranded to Sleepy body spray which makes sense marketing wise but just feels so much less pretty and romantic. For further context, I am a stripper and I get compliments every night at work when I wear this fragrance, both from men and the other dancers. It smells like lavender cookies, sweet and powdery and sexy fresh. Once I walked past a man in the club and I heard him say to his friend “bro, she smells like cookies and cream”. It lasts so well on clothing, where it dries down to smell like a sweet floral vanilla. When I change my sheets I spritz this on the mattress and the fresh linen and it’s excellent. I identify as a Lush Twilight girl, and it is the scent that has clung to me through my late teens now into my early twenties through my hot girl art school stripper years. It’s cozy and romantic and people fall in love with me in it. 10/10.

I’m reviewing this based on my experience with the ‘Sleepy’ body spray. According to the salesperson in the shop, this is the same product which just has been renamed – and looking at the notes, I can believe that. Immediately, this is a lavender bomb! A very herbal, essential oils kind of lavender – which of course is a love or hate it kind of fragrance. I personally am a lavender lover and I was initially kind of surprised when I heard that lavender repulses some people. If you’re one of those people, this is not for you. The lavender is definitely the star of the show, the other notes kind of round it out nicely. I feel like the body spray kind of performs as an eau de toilette, I would say. Initially I was kind of put off by the bottle. Like it doesn’t look like something you would spray on your skin. When the salesperson told me that people also use it to spray on their clothes, linen or even as a room spray, it kind of makes sense to me more.

I first bought the bar soap with this scent, and initially I didn’t like it. But it sat in my shower and over time perfumed the whole room. And after I while I became obsessed with the scent. I needed the body spray. I am not someone who likes vanilla or sweet perfumes, but this scent has just the slightest touch of these from the tonka, and it is addicting! At first spray, this honestly smells a bit like mosquito repellent to me, but once it dries it turns into a very herbally fresh lavender with the tonka lingering in the background. I love lavender personally, and this is done in a way that makes it feel feminine and soft, less cold and more creamy than it normally smells. After a few hours it starts smelling more like the vanilla-y tonka and the lavender takes a back seat. I normally only like more aquatic and citrusy perfumes, and this is really expanding my tastes!

Sweet lavender milk. It is creamy, dreamy, and enveloping. The lavender gives it a little dark earthiness and the tonka is angelic. I tend to smell an even mix of the two, but I receive many compliments and I have noticed that people tend to only recognize one or the other up front. I wear this daily as a body spray and it pairs well with many other perfumes in my collection (I love to combine with with La Vie Est Belle by Lancome... unexpected pairing, but it is magical). It is such a lovely, versatile, and agreeable scent. I feel like I can never wear too much. I spray it on my body, clothes, sheets, or around my room. It is a therapeutic experience to wear Twilight and the Lush Sleepy products. The lavender calms my anxiety and the tonka warms my soul. I feel it puts those around me at ease too.

Twilight reminds me of a lullaby, the color lavender, or a fuzzy teddy bear. It reminds me of the glow in the dark stars and moons you used to put on your ceiling when you were younger. This smell is so pretty. That’s the only way I can describe it. Pretty. Cute. Pleasant. Dreamlike. Sleepy. Comforting. It’s a beautiful scent. Truly smells like vanilla and lavender. I don’t know if there’s much to say about it. It’s pretty linear, as I only pick up on the lavender and vanilla. However, don’t let that fool you. Twilight is beautiful, pacific, and cozy. It smells warm, yet clean. It smells like something you’d spray on yourself while you’re getting ready for bed, wearing the cutest PJs and fuzzy robe with the comfiest slippers. Twilight is amazing. I should purchase it again.

The initial first spray is a warm, pretty lavender. I wouldn't neccessarily say that I am the biggest fan of lavender, but here it is gorgeous - powdery, feminine and dreamy. The dry down however... SUBLIME! It is one of my favourite scents of all time. It is warm, natural and enchanting like the name suggests. Almost similar to something like Clean Reserve's Radiant Nectar. It projects and lasts so well, better than some Eau de Parfum's I have. Always get compliments with this. Amazing. However, I have noticed that it does start to smell a little bit off towards the end of the bottle, and so I avoid spritzing to heavily when it starts to run out - the lavender becomes slightly cloying and heavy. A shame, though I believe this is due to the natural origins of the perfume.

I adore this perfume, I wear it all the time to work, it's such a beautiful, comforting scent. It's also fab for layering, I love using this and the Elizabeth Arden Green tea - Lavender, just to create this cozy, clean tea scent. This just helps relax me so so much, makes me yearn to go home to drink lavender tea and cozy up in bed watching smth stupid. I am a huge lavender fan though, if you're not - I'd reccomend smelling it store first, because while it's not a bitter stand alone lavender, it still is a very lavender heavy despite being sweet. Either way, a great scent, wear it day or night - it's still awesome. I wear it so much I might have to stop for a while because I fear I'm getting a little nose blind to it!

Totally love this - my favourite perfume was Rentless by Lush, and admittedly this is not quite as good - but this is reminiscent of it, and everyone says I smell amazing. 1-2 sprays lasts all day - it's not like a body spray at all, much more like a perfume. The tonka is the lasting note and is sweet, warm, and vaguely spicy. The lavender disappears after a few minutes (thank god - I hate lavender). It would be perfect on teenagers and young women, better layered with something else if you're over about 27..? It's a little bit young for a sophisticated woman, but smells so good that it would make a great layer to something else that's spicy and needs a bit of sweet in it. It's also unbelievably good value!

This scent smells identical to a warm lavender insence. A very strong and complex scent, that feels cosy and fulfils it's name, if twilight and dusk had a scent this would be it. I used to wear this as an everyday perfume but it's just too strong, now I use the moisturiser in this scent for a more subtle effect. I got so many compliments on it when I wore it and people could smell me before I came into the room. Despite the compliments, this is a very marmite scent, people either loved it or hated it and it was just too much of a 'strong lush smell' for some. I would reccomend this in the colder months of the year as a cosy evening perfume. Even though its a body spray a little goes a long way.

i’ve gotten so many compliments on this one at music festivals! it’s a lavender vanilla bomb. i have sweet memories attached to twilight. it’s mostly used as a blanket and room spray these days though. i’ve had my current bottle for two years now, it’s become a lot smokier and heavy? i remember it smelling a lot sweeter when it was new, and the first bottle i had years ago smelled a bit sweeter than my current bottle. probably about time to get a new one. lasts awhile. it sticks to my blankets for days, sticks to clothing until i wash laundry. i never wore it in the heat. used it during fall/winter/night the most. it just smells like a cold weather scent to me, cozy and comforting!

Bought this to help my boyfriend get off to sleep and honestly I have kind of taken it back as I wear it during the day, only he doesn't know it yet. It's beautiful. Definitely too strong to be described as a body spray per say. It lasts all day especially on clothes. The ylang ylang really sweetens this up and the benzoin and tonka really come in to play to warm it, but the lavender lightens it. Just a beautifully balanced fragrance. I'd be interested in trying the perfume but don't feel I need to because this is so good. Earthy, sweet and hypnotising. I sprayed in the bedroom and it travelled through my flat. Addictive and longlasting. Please don't ever discontinue this!

This scent is a slice of heaven if you love Lavender and Tonka. Lush Twilight is a body spray but it is so much more then that. The scent calms my mind and readies my body for relaxation, meditation and sleep. While the packaging is not the most classy and reminds me of Windex cleaning spray, it does a good job to quickly distribute the mist over one's body or even bed linens or window curtains to transform not just your body, but any room, into serenity. I purchased this about a month ago and I'm already half way through it because I am home so much more due to COVID19. This "body spray" has been invaluable to me and will be on my forever repurchase list.
