We Believe in Glinda

Gorgeous scent, sadly the longevity isn't great on me, only about 3-4 hours at most (so not awful, but I'm used to Lush's so-called "body sprays" having insane performance usually!). I'm mostly dropping a review to confirm that it is indeed reminiscent of LVEB L'Elixir - both violet-forward yet sweet and fruity. They're definitely not dupes of one another though. L'Elixir's fruity note is front and centre with a distinct raspberry note; by comparison Glinda just has a "fruity feeling" to it that plays a secondary role. L'Elixir's violet leaf note also gives it a very strong clean/fresh/aquatic edge, whereas here it reads much more like violet flower itself (probably due to the addition of iris). Glinda leans more into the purple floral, powdery, almond/very very slight gourmand direction with a veil of sugary sweetness and fruitiness dancing across it, whereas (to me) L'Elixir has that sugared-violet element too but paired with distinct aquatic + raspberry notes. In summation it's more of a "if you like one, you'll like the other" situation as opposed to "if you have one you don't need the other". I own both and while I actually like L'Elixir more, Glinda wins in terms of wearability (ironic given Lush's reputation with perfumes)! It just feels so much more approachable/casual to me; L'Elixir has quite an intense scent trail so I feel a little out of place wearing it unless I'm all dressed up... I've had Glinda for a fraction of the time I've owned L'Elixir and have already used it just as much!

This is the first time a Lush body spray has been an absolute love. Skinscents4Fusspots (hey diva, I love your work) is right that this smells like Swizzles brand powdery candy (think rockets/American smarties given they're based on Fizzers from Swizzles) with a little bit of a Rosey undertone. It does have a slight blackcurrant/grape smell from the almonds. I see the Comforter comparison, but I feel WBIG is more sweet, perfumery and a tiny bit soapy where as Comforter smells more like a berry detergent or laundry spray. It reminds me a tiny bit of YSL Paris (the original) without the mimosa I don't like, and sweeter. Distinct enough to own both, but you can see it if you put them side by side. I've found it smells the best sprayed above me, and left to fall into my hair rather than on my wrists.

surprised to see people rating it as mostly a winter/fall fragrance; but i guess it's because it was released during Northern hemisphere winter and that's where mostly everyone is trying it! I am happy to report though that my mom brought me We Believe in Glinda as a gift all the way to Brazil, from Canada, and it's a wildly hot summer in Brazil and I love it! Upon first sprays I felt a very spritzy, sparkly and sweet raspberry, which is not even listed as a note but maybe a phantom note? Then it settles down to a powdery rose vanilla but at the same time it has a juicy, mouth watering quality to it. I appreciate how the powdery notes give me a dry feeling which is a nice feeling when you are in a humid and hot climate. Curious to test it during winter!

Kpop_stan is spot on. Glinda is similar to LVEB L'Elixir which happens to be one of my favorites - so of course I'm going to love it. It's a powdery, fruity candy smell - like parma violets and jellybeans. It becomes more powdery and soft during the dry down. Very pretty. I love it, I think I prefer Glinda over L'Elixir - they're both beautiful but Glinda is less overpowering, smells less synthetic. And yeah, Glinda is far better for casual use. Unfortunately it's weak and doesn't last long compared to the other Lush body sprays However people have complimented this one. I didn't think they would be able to smell it haha

I need to snag all the similar fragrances people are naming in the reviews because this scent has changed me as a person and when I run out, everyone will have to go on sewer side watch. Lasts roughly 7926 hrs on clothes, decent on skin, 5+ hrs on my current wear and still smelling great. If you're like me and love being on a sugar high, try layering this over V&R Bonbon. Dizzying. Like I'm 90% candied flower, 10% girl.

This is a violet-sherbet bomb! Fizzing like a combination of powdery parma violets and swizzels. It's effervescent! Great lasting power. A really fun, youthful scent. I think this will really come into it's own in spring, too.

I'm not a fan of the Wicked films, so I nearly didn't try this! It smells like fizzy sweets - like UK Love Hearts. I now love spraying it on my scarf as the scent lasts so long on fabric. Definitely one for sweet & powdery fragrance fans.

The lady at lush described this as parma violet sweets and refresher sweets and that's about right. I was hoping for a vanilla and violet scent but I'm not getting much violet until the deeper dry down and very little vanilla, although it's very sweet. Sweet in a sugary way! We believe in Glinda is VERY sherbetty. Possibly Avocado co-wash levels of sherbet. It actually reminded me a lot of The Comforter.... I'm getting a berry note for some reason. I suspect if I check the ingredients there are citruses. On my skin it's not very strong and just smells like LUSH. It's a perfectly nice scent and it smells young and fun, definitely sparkly but to me it feels a bit redundant, particularly if you already have lots of lush perfumes / bodysprays. I'd have LOVED a proper creamy and vanillic, strong violet perfume without that berry scent.

I was really excited for this release as Violet is my absolute favourite note in anything- did not warrant a purchase from me sadly. It had that Parma violets touch to it but something felt too clay-like for me. It’s lovely and fresh, and it’s very unique compared to all the citrusy green fragrances taking up most of Lush’s catalogue. If you love that dough scent in your perfumes or even just love collecting Wicked merch then this is great. Unfortunately I found it a bit musty in store. I recommend trying to sample this out of store

Att soft and powdery scent of sweet violet candy.

Just a little review to share that WE BELIEVE IN GLINDA by LUSH, once it is given time to dry down, smells like a pretty, thick powdery, violet scent with a hint of rose and a strong cosmetic powder base background like the kind you smell in lipstick and a powder compact. WE BELIEVE IN GLINDA reminds me of the following scents: - LIPSTICK ROSE by Frederic Malle - LIPSTICK FEVER by Juliette Has a Gun - LIPSTICK ON by Replica - MISIA by Chanel - THE PINK BEDROOM by Marissa Zappas

such a fun, sweet, floral, candy-like scent! my boyfriend says this smells like jolly ranchers lol! layer this with american cream you won't regret it! i smell like a walking barbie doll :)

Smells like Parma Violet sweets mixed with powdery jelly babies!! So BEAUTIFUL. The only issue is the longevity isn’t the best compared to other lush body sprays

smells like a sweet fizzy drink with some bitter note when you smell it from close up – kind of like a jelly beans & violets flavoured tonic?

Wish I could have smelled the sherbet and candy—when I tested this one in store I mostly got florals.

Really simple and not worth it whatsoever. Bland floral.....was expecting more :(
