Yog Nog

This is so good. Like, omg. If you don’t like gourmands and are considering this because of the floral notes, turn away because this smells like vanilla ice cream and madeleine biscuits. It’s definitely a gourmand. While I do pick up on the floral side, it’s very minimal and smells so delicious, sweet and edible. I have heard that different bottles smell different depending on the batch, so I would recommend you buy this in person anyways just to make sure you get the better side of the batches, but I def got a good bottle and it is yummy! Referring to my bottle, it doesn’t smell like yoghurt to me, but I can understand why people are saying that because some of the other bottles smelled a bit more yoghurt-y in store compared to the one I purchased. Anyway, I love this and I would definitely recommend, just perhaps not a blind buy! 🤍

Lush scents can start off as scents for one with an acquired and quirky taste (or sense of smell). Yog Nog is no exception. It starts off with an enormous blast of buttery, creamy caramel. However, somewhere around the 10 minute mark it gets a weird sour quality that kinda throws off the scent, and that lingers for a good 15 minutes before the buttery caramel returns to the forefront, now joined with spices that a reminiscent of the ginger cookies spice mix, without the ginger. Kinda chai-ish as mentioned, but less strong than that. After an hour it is fully evolved and what remains is that chai being front and center, with the caramel in the background. Kind of the adult sister of SDJ 71. More spice, less vanilla-y caramel. I’ve been told that it’s corporate office safe by my colleagues today.

I blind-bought 100ml of this because I love gourmand scents and am a huge fan of HIWTK, Sticky Dates, and LTGTR. Yog Nog is a must if you enjoy these kinds of fragrances. To me, it smells exactly like a pumpkin spice cream frappuccino (no coffee) from Starbucks – sweet, autumnal, and, like all Lush scents, thick and strong. I do think it’s very much an autumn/winter fragrance, and even I might struggle with it in the summer.

I got the Yog Nog body spray after having used the body wash for a while, I personally love it. It's super sweet and addicting, smelling mostly of caramel with just a bit of spice. It's extremely strong and a little goes a long way, but I always get compliments on it and love smelling it on myself. The bottle is the only negative, it's uncomfortable to hold and ugly on a shelf, had to change it lol.

I really enjoy Yog Nog! It’s a true gourmand fragrance on my skin, I don’t get any flower notes. On me it smells like strait up ginger bread cookie! Very Christmas appropriate fragrance! Really sweet, spicy and creamy. I’m very pleasantly surprised by this body spray 👍🏻
